DEVELOPMENT OF ERP INTEGRATION SYSTEM FOR SPORTS INDUSTRY IN TAIWAN

  • Traditional Industries were planning the major role for Taiwan's economy. However, we need to face the competition from developing countries. Moving manufacturing department to other low salary countries, such as China, can only temporarily release some limited pressure. The final and complete solutions are to equip on R&D, refine techniques, improve management capabilities, upgrade business, and reform physique. Currently there are some ERP systems on the market; however, they are designed for common purpose and difficult to introduce into industry. The expensive price is another factor to make them be popular. In this research we will Object Oriented, Visual Modeling, ER Model and Windows Environment to develop an Integrated Management System for Sports Requisites Industries (IMSSRI). We will integrate all information from all departments such as development, business, material administration, manufacture, shipping, and financial. When development people construct the all modules, components, cutting molds, materials and accessories, IMSSRI will calculate all needed materials and cost for each product. This cost will be used for quotation to report to our customers. When customers confirm the order, system will transfer all necessary materials into Material Administration System. IMSSRI can generate manufacturing forms and material raw lists for manufacture department. All related information such as stocking, returning goods, material requesting, and material returning can be integrated so we can control all details of the whole enterprise. Through the help of this system, we hope we can save man-power, reduce human mistakes, raise management capabilities for tradition manufacturing industries and create another possibility of eternal operating for Taiwan's Industries.

  • Model-based decision support system (DSS) has acted as a crucial role in strengthening the business competitiveness by providing a way of modeling and solving real-world decision problems in a quantitative and scientific manner. It is even more important for trading OTC derivatives, which requires extensive financial-engineering expertise while actively reacting to the continuously changing financial market. This paper proposes a flexible model-based DSS architecture that can support user-friendly interface for executing and analyzing the models and can adapt to the changes of financial market seamlessly. For user-friendliness, we implement the user-interfaces (UIs) using Microsoft Excel, a very widely used spreadsheet program for its great generality and extensibility. Users can utilize the analysis results of DSS or reprocess them for their special needs through the UIs in the form of familiar spreadsheets easily. For adaptiveness to the markets, the proposed architecture is constructed based on the object-oriented concepts, which enables such changes as release of a new financial product can be updated into the system without any delay at the lowest cost. We investigate the practical benefits and limitations of the proposed architecture by a case study on the construction of Model-based Trading Support System (MTSS), performed by a commercial bank in Korea.

  • Recently, when software architecture is designed, the efficiency of reusability is emphasized. The reusability of the design can raise the quality of GIS software, and reduce the cost of maintenance. Because the object oriented GoF design pattern provides the class hierarchy that can represent repetitively, the importance is emphasized more. This method that designs the GIS software can be applied from various application systems. A multiple distributed sensor network system is composed of the complex structure that each node of the sensor network nodes has different functions and sensor nodes and server are designed by the combination of many classes. Furthermore, this sensor network system may be changed into more complex systems according to a particular purpose of software designer. This paper will design the CATL model by applying Facade pattern that can enhance the efficiency of reuse according to attributes and behaviors in classes in order to implement the complicated structure of the multiple distributed sensor network system based on TinyOS. Therefore, our object oriented GIS design pattern model will be expected to utilize efficiently for design, update, or maintenance, etc. of new systems by packing up attributes and behaviors of classes at complex sensor network systems.

  • Autonomous and intelligent resource model (AIR-model) defines a building-block of complex systems to pursue value creation by means of diverse resources, referred to as an AIR-unit, and presents a collaboration model with the AIR-units. An AIR-unit represents a piece of resources, such as machines, labor, raw materials, and other assets, considered individually by a complex system as means to accomplish given tasks. It is defined with its own service capability and a goal, and pursues achieving the goal by means of the capability. Moreover, an Air-unit is equipped with autonomy and intelligence, whereby it makes a decision on its course of action on its own initiative. Air-units collaborate on system operations with each other through goal-oriented negotiations. In this research, distinctive features of the AIR-model are addressed and described in detail. Principal components of the AIR-model are also designed via object-oriented modeling techniques. A prototype system based on the AIR-model is finally presented as an embodiment tool of a fractal manufacturing system (FrMS).

  • In this paper, we investigate a problem with an e-learning system for e-business environments and introduce the solving method of the problem. To be more accurate, existing Web-hosted and ASP (Application Service Provider)-oriented service model is difficult to cooperate and integrate among the different kinds of systems. So we have produced sharable and reusable learning object, they have extracted a principle from pedagogical designs for units of reuse. We call LIO (Learning Item Object). This modeling makes use of a constructing for XML Web Services. So to speak, units of reuse from pedagogical designs are test tutorial, resource, case example, simulation, problem, test, discovery and discussion and then map introduction, fact, try, quiz, test, link-more, tell-more LIO learning object. These typed LIOs are stored in metadata along with the information for a content location. Each one of LIOs is designed with components and exposed in an interface for XML Web services. These services are module applications, which are used a standard SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) and locate any computer over Internet and publish, find and bind to services. This guarantees the interoperation and integration of the different kinds of systems. As a result, the problem of e-learning systems for e-business environments was resolved and then the power of understanding about learning objects based on pedagogical design was increased for learner and instruction designers. And organizations of education hope for particular decreased costs in constructing e-learning systems.

  • Recently, as the development system has become larger, sequential simulation methods have become impossible to verify systems that take a long time or require real time results. Therefore, a study of a distributed simulation system that simulates several processes has been conducted. In order to simulate real-time systems, efficient data exchange between distributed systems is required. Data Distribution Service is a data-oriented communication middleware proposed by Object Management Group and provides efficient data exchange and various QoS. However, in a large-scale distributed simulation environment distributed over a wide area, there is a problem of Participant Discovery and QoS guarantee due to domain separation in data exchange. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a DDS/SDN architecture that can guaranteed QoS and effective Participant Discovery in an SDN-based network.

Recognizing a polyhedron by network constraint analysis

  • The present paper describes a method of recognizing a polyhedron employing the notion of network constraint analysis. Typical difficulties in three-dimensional object recognition, other than shading, reflection, and hidden line problems, include the case where appearances of an object vary according to observation points and the case where an object to be recognized is occluded by other objects placed in its front, resulting in incomplete information on the object shape. These difficulties can, however, be solved to a large extent, by taking account of certain local constraints defined on a polyhedral shape. The present paper assumes a model-based vision employing an appearance-oriented model of a polyhedron which is provided by placing it at the origin of a large sphere and observing it from various positions on the surface of the sphere. The model is actually represented by the sets of adjacent faces pairs of the polyhedron observed from those positions. Since the shape of a projected face gives constraint to that of its adjacent face, this results in a local constraint relation between these faces. Each projected face of an unknown polyhedron on an acquired image is examined its match with those faces in the model, producing network constraint relations between faces in the image and faces in the model. Taking adjacency of faces into consideration, these network constraint relations are analyzed. And if the analysis finally provides a solution telling existence of one to one match of the faces between the unknown polyhedron and the model, the unknown polyhedron is understood to be one of those memorized models placed in a certain posture. In the performed experiment, a polyhedron was observed from 320 regularly arranged points on a sphere to provide its appearance model and a polyhedron with arbitrarily postured, occluded, or imposed another difficulty was successfully recognized.

  • The confluence of computers, communications, and databases is quickly creating a distributed database where many applications require real-time access to temporally consistent sensor data. We have developed an object-oriented real-time database system called BeeHive to provide a significant improvement in performance and functionality over conventional non-real-time database and object management systems. In this paper, the performance of two data-deadline cognizant scheduling policies EDDF and EDF-DC and the baseline EDF policy with/without admission control are evaluated through extensive experiments on BeeHive. The ranges where data-deadline cognizant scheduling policies are effective and where admission control plays a role are identified.

Efficient Swimmer Detection Algorithm using CNN-based SVM

  • In this paper, we propose a CNN-based swimmer detection algorithm. Every year, water safety accidents have been occurred frequently, and accordingly, intelligent video surveillance systems are being developed to prevent accidents. Intelligent video surveillance system is a real-time system that detects objects which users want to do. It classifies or detects objects in real-time using algorithms such as GMM (Gaussian Mixture Model), HOG (Histogram of Oriented Gradients), and SVM (Support Vector Machine). However, HOG has a problem that it cannot accurately detect the swimmer in a complex and dynamic environment such as a beach. In other words, there are many false positives that detect swimmers as waves and false negatives that detect waves as swimmers. To solve this problem, in this paper, we propose a swimmer detection algorithm using CNN (Convolutional Neural Network), specialized for small object sizes, in order to detect dynamic objects and swimmers more accurately and efficiently in complex environment. The proposed CNN sets the size of the input image and the size of the filter used in the convolution operation according to the size of objects. In addition, the aspect ratio of the input is adjusted according to the ratio of detected objects. As a result, experimental results show that the proposed CNN-based swimmer detection method performs better than conventional techniques.

  • The planning and design of healthcare architecture generally requires the participation and consultation of skilled experts since it has more complex space program than any other buildings. Therefore, the computer-based expert systems for the planning of healthcare architecture have been tried continuously. The recent development of BIM technologies and object-oriented CAAD systems is leading these attempts to realize gradually. Thus, this study attempts to verify whether the new evaluation model and system of the spatial layout, which are based on the validation of space program that developed in earlier studies, are applicable to real examples of design competition. Through this simulation, this study tries to find the possibility of expert systems for the planning of healthcare architecture and act as basic data for the development of new system for the integrated design environment based on BIM technologies in the near future.
