  • The hornet species are so similar in shape that they are difficult for non-experts to classify, and because the size of the objects is small and move fast, it is more difficult to detect and classify the species in real time. In this paper, we developed a system that classifies hornets species in real time based on a deep learning algorithm using a boundary box. In order to minimize the background area included in the bounding box when labeling the training image, we propose a method of selecting only the head and body of the hornet. It also experimentally compares existing boundary box-based object recognition algorithms to find the best algorithms that can detect wasps in real time and classify their species. As a result of the experiment, when the mish function was applied as the activation function of the convolution layer and the hornet images were tested using the YOLOv4 model with the Spatial Attention Module (SAM) applied before the object detection block, the average precision was 97.89% and the average recall was 98.69%.

  • Objectives : This study aimed to convert into weight the dosages of flower of Daphne canescens and leaf of Phyllostachys nigra var. henonsis, whose daily dosages are likened to an object in 《Treatise on Cold Damage Diseases》. This study also aimed to understand their implications along with the previously studied gypsium and rhubarb. Methods : After reviewing documents, the dosages were converted into weight, confirmed by experiment, and their implications were considered. Results : A chicken-egg-volume of flowers of Daphne canescens is one Ryang(6.5 g) and two handfuls of leaves of Phyllostachys nigra var. henonsis is four Ryang(13 g). Each item was only used once in a decoction. Their dosages were expressed in weight respectively in 《Supplement to the Essential Prescriptions Worth a Thousand Gold》 and 《Bohenggyuljangbuyongyakbubyo》. Gypsium dosage was expressed in weight except in Daecheongryong-tang as chicken-egg-volume(16 Ryang). To liken a dosage to an object is an exception, as in the three cases above; for precision and convenience it is recommended that dosages be expressed in weight, in which case all three items fell into one of eight categories from one Ryang to 16 Ryang. Rhubarb was measured in weight, but only when using the 12-hour leaching method, four Ryang of rhubarb was cut into of 5-6 wide-go-stone-sized pieces and two Ryang into 5-6 go-stone-sized pieces. Conclusions : To liken a dosage to an object is only an exception and lacks precision and convenience; therefore dosages ended up expressed in weight, count, or volume.

  • In this paper, we propose a Motion Vector-based Particle Filter(MVPF) for object tracking on bitstreams and a object tracking system using the MVPF. The MVPF uses motion vectors to both the transition and the observation models of a general particle filter to improve the accuracy while maintaining the number of particles. In the proposed object tracking system, the state of the target object can be predicted using the histogram of motion vectors extracted from the bitstream. In terms of precision, F-measure and IOU(Intersection Of Union), the proposed method is about 30%, 17%, and 17% better on average, respectively, in MPEG test sequences and VOT2013 sequences. Furthermore, When the tracking results are displayed in box form for subjective performance evaluation, the proposed method can track moving objects more robust than the conventional methods in all test sequences.

  • In this paper a new positioning method for cylindrical work pieces on rotating supports is studied. A work piece on a rotating axis is positioned by an impact drive mechanism (IDM) whose driving parameters are steadily updated by observing the object movement. The application of this actuator and the use of a multi-functional PC board for all necessary input and output operations such as e.g. data acquisition or wave form generation allow an alignment with a precision of less than 1.mu.m in a relatively short time and at low cost compared to conventional methods.

  • This paper presents an efficient method of extracting line segments from the occupancy grids in a grid map. The grid map is composed of 2-D grids that have both the occupancy and orientation probabilities using sonar sensors. We evaluate the orientation information of every grid when the occupancy probability of the grid is updated from sonar range data. To find the shape of an object in the map from orientation information, the orientations are clustered into several groups according to their values. The line segments are, then, extracted from the clusters based on Hough transform. Finally, a feature-based map is built with these line segments. The proposed method is illustrated with the results produced by sets of experiments in an indoor environment.

  • It is one of the most important things to determinate optimized cutting conditions which satisfy productivity and cost simultaneously in production and CAPP systems. These days many researchers have figured out the optimizing way for solutions of multi-object function to find the approach methods using algorithm such as genetic algorithm or tabu search, etc., instead of mathematical methods. The main creation of objective function is proposed by empirical method but which is difficult to set it up and to analysis. In this paper, an optimization method of cutting condition is shown using the ANN and GA for the multi-objective function in high speed machining.

  • Digital shearography, a speckle pattern method is based on the superposition of two laterally sheared images. Therefore, object points which are positioned in some distance from each other are superposed in the image plane. This shearography, one of NDT methods without contact, is able to inspect defects in pipelines and pressure vessels that are used in nuclear power plants. This is can inspect whole fields and has a low sensitivity to environmental noise. Because optical setting is very simple, it has a little exhaustion of time, cost and man power. And also it can find a defect position through real time monitoring of a part. This paper, finds out the relationship among shearing quantity image quality and defect size with this method.

  • A simple and cost-effective method for the electrostatic suspension of thin plates like silicon wafers is proposed which is based on a switched voltage control scheme. It operates according to a relay feedback control and deploys only a single high-voltage power supply that can deliver a dc voltage of positive and/or negative polarity. This method possesses the unique feature that no high-voltage amplifiers are needed which leads to a remarkable system simplification relative to conventional methods. It is shown that despite the inherent limit cycle property of the relay feedback based control, an excellent performance in vibration suppression is attained due to the presence of a relatively large squeeze film damping origination from the air between the electrodes and levitated object. Using this scheme, a 4-inch silicon wafer was levitated stably with airgap variation decreasing down to 1 $\mu\textrm{m}$ at an airgap of 100 $\mu\textrm{m}$
