Robots will be able to coexist with humans and support humans effectively in near future. One of the most important aspects in the development of human-friendly robots is to cooperation between humans and robots. In this paper, we proposed a method for multi-object identification in order to achieve such human-centered system and robot localization in intelligent space. The intelligent space is the space where many intelligent devices, such as computers and sensors, are distributed. The Intelligent Space achieves the human centered services by accelerating the physical and psychological interaction between humans and intelligent devices. As an intelligent device of the Intelligent Space, a color CCD camera module, which includes processing and networking part, has been chosen. The Intelligent Space requires functions of identifying and tracking the multiple objects to realize appropriate services to users under the multi-camera environments. In order to achieve seamless tracking and location estimation many camera modules are distributed. They causes some errors about object identification among different camera modules. This paper describes appearance based object representation for the distributed vision system in Intelligent Space to achieve consistent labeling of all objects. Then, we discuss how to learn the object color appearance model and how to achieve the multi-object tracking under occlusions.

We proposes a method for improving the identification and tracking of the moving objects in intelligent video surveillance system. The proposed method consists of 3 parts: object detection, object recognition, and object tracking. First of all, we use a GMM(Gaussian Mixture Model) to eliminate the background, and extract the moving object. Next, we propose a labeling technique forrecognition of the moving object. and the method for identifying the recognized object by using the optical flow and EMD algorithm. Lastly, we proposes method to track the location of the identified moving object regions by using location information of moving objects and Kalman filter. Finally, we demonstrate the feasibility and applicability of the proposed algorithms through some experiments.

A realization for image searching engine with moving objects identification and classification is presented in this paper. The identification algorithm is applied to extract difference image between input image and the reference image, and the classification is used the region segmentation. That is made the database for the searching engine. The experimental result of the realized system enables to search for human and animal at time intervals to use a surveillant system at inside environment.
Component-based Development(CBD) based on the software reuse has been more attractive from software companies that want to enhance software productivity. However, since component identification process is mainly dependent on domain expert´s intuition and experience, it was very difficult to develop tools for supporting the component identification process. In this paper, we propose a systematic procedure of identifying reusable component by using object dependencies and object usages and provide a design and implementation of its supporting tool. In object-oriented domain models. there exists several diagrams which are described in different viewpoints. From these diagrams, object dependency and object usages are extracted and merged into an object dependency network, which is a basis for performing a comfonent identification algorithm. Finally, through a case study of internet banking system, we evaluate the applicability of the proposed identification process and tool.

Object recognition in the field of robotics generally has depended on a computer vision system. Recently, RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) has been suggested as technology that supports object recognition. This paper, introduces the advanced RFID-based recognition using a novel tag which is named a 3D tag. The 3D tag was designed to facilitate object recognition. The proposed RFID system not only detects the existence of an object, but also estimates the orientation and position of the object. These characteristics allow the robot to reduce considerably its dependence on other sensors for object recognition. In this paper, we analyze the characteristics of the 3D tag-based RFID system. In addition, the estimation methods of position and orientation using the system are discussed.
We propose a clustering based object feature matching for identification of same object in multi-camera system. The method is focused on ease to system initialization and extension. Clustering is used to estimate parameters of Gaussian mixture models of objects. A similarity measure between models are determined by Kullback-Leibler divergence. This method can be applied to occlusion problem in tracking.
The surveillance system in general, has been sufficiently studied in the field of wireless semiconductor using basic sensors and its study of image surveillance system mainly using camera as a sensor has especially been fully implemented. In this paper, we propose 'Intelligent Image Detection System' used by image object identification technique based on the result analysis of various researches. This 'Intelligent Image Detection System' can easily trace and judge before and after a particular incident and ensure affirmative evidence and numerous relative information. Therefore, the 'Intelligent Image Detection System' proposed in this paper can be effectively used in the lived society such as traffic management, disaster alarm system and etc.
Object recognition in the field of robotics generally has depended on a computer vision system. Recently, RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) technology has been suggested to support recognition and has been rapidly and widely applied. This paper introduces the more advanced RFID-based recognition. A novel tag named 3D tag, which facilitates the understanding of the object, was designed. The previous RFID-based system only detects the existence of the object, and therefore, the system should find the object and had to carry out a complex process such as pattern match to identify the object. 3D tag, however, not only detects the existence of the object as well as other tags, but also estimates the orientation and position of the object. These characteristics of 3D tag allows the robot to considerably reduce its dependence on other sensors required for object recognition the object. In this paper, we analyze the 3D tag's detection characteristic and the position and orientation estimation algorithm of the 3D tag-based RFID system.
Major deficiencies of current automation scheme including various robots for bioproduction include the lack of task adaptability and real time processing, low job performance for diverse tasks, and the lack of robustness of take results, high system cost, failure of the credit from the operator, and so on. This paper proposed a scheme that could solve the current limitation of task abilities of conventional computer controlled automatic system. The proposed scheme is the man-machine hybrid automation via tele-operation which can handle various bioproduction processes. And it was classified into two categories. One category was the efficient task sharing between operator and CCM(computer controlled machine). The other was the efficient interface between operator and CCM. To realize the proposed concept, task of the object identification and extraction of 3D coordinate of an object was selected. 3D coordinate information was obtained from camera calibration using camera as a measurement device. Two stereo images were obtained by moving a camera certain distance in horizontal direction normal to focal axis and by acquiring two images at different locations. Transformation matrix for camera calibration was obtained via least square error approach using specified 6 known pairs of data points in 2D image and 3D world space. 3D world coordinate was obtained from two sets of image pixel coordinates of both camera images with calibrated transformation matrix. As an interface system between operator and CCM, a touch pad screen mounted on the monitor and remotely captured imaging system were used. Object indication was done by the operator’s finger touch to the captured image using the touch pad screen. A certain size of local image processing area was specified after the touch was made. And image processing was performed with the specified local area to extract desired features of the object. An MS Windows based interface software was developed using Visual C++6.0. The software was developed with four modules such as remote image acquisiton module, task command module, local image processing module and 3D coordinate extraction module. Proposed scheme shoed the feasibility of real time processing, robust and precise object identification, and adaptability of various job and environments though selected sample tasks.

Marine accidents caused by ships have brought about economic and social losses as well as human casualties. Most of these accidents are caused by small and medium-sized ships and are due to their poor conditions and insufficient equipment compared with larger vessels. Measures are quickly needed to improve the conditions. This paper discusses a video-integrated collision prediction and fall detection system to support the safe navigation of small- and medium-sized ships. The system predicts the collision of ships and detects falls by crew members using the CCTV, displays the analyzed integrated information using automatic identification system (AIS) messages, and provides alerts for the risks identified. The design consists of an object recognition algorithm, interface module, integrated display module, collision prediction and fall detection module, and an alarm management module. For the basic research, we implemented a deep learning algorithm to recognize the ship and crew from images, and an interface module to manage messages from AIS. To verify the implemented algorithm, we conducted tests using 120 images. Object recognition performance is calculated as mAP by comparing the pre-defined object with the object recognized through the algorithms. As results, the object recognition performance of the ship and the crew were approximately 50.44 mAP and 46.76 mAP each. The interface module showed that messages from the installed AIS were accurately converted according to the international standard. Therefore, we implemented an object recognition algorithm and interface module in the designed collision prediction and fall detection system and validated their usability with testing.
