ITK-SNAP (http://www.itksnap.org) and 3D Slicer (CMFreg extension module; www.slicer.org) are open-source softwares which can be used for superimposition of cone-beam CT images. For superimposition, segmentation of bone is done with ITK-SNAP, and then voxel based superimposition of CBCT images can be performed using 3D Slicer. 3D Slicer has various visualization modules which are not provided in common commercial programs. 'Models' module is used to visualize two overlapping three-dimensional images, and this allows various visualizations by changing view mode and color of the model. In addition, differences between two CBCT images can be represented in a color map using 'ShapePopulationViewer' module. This report introduces how to superimpose and visualize CBCT images using ITK-SNAP and 3D Slicer, and the usefulness and limitations of both softwares will be discussed in comparison with commercial softwares.

We demonstrate workflows in biological data retrieval and analysis using the DDBJ Web Service; specifically introduce a workflow for the analysis of proteins or proteomics data sets. The workflow mechanically extracts the gene whose protein structure and function are known from all the genes of a human genome in Ensembl (http://www.ensembl.org/) based on cross-references among Ensembl, Swiss-Prot (http://www.ebi.ac.uk/swissprot) and PDB (Protein Data Bank; http://www.wwpdb.org/). The workflow discovered ‘hidden’ linkages among databases. We will be able to integrate distributed and heterogeneous data systems into workflows, if they are provided based on standards for Web services.

This study estimate the degree of contamination in the streamwater around the Sudokwon landfill site. It was sampled at 10 sites in Jan., Apr., Jul. and Oct., 1996. There were analyzed five kinds of toxic chemical material-CN, AES, PCB, As, Org-p, and four kinds of heavy metal-Pb, Hg, Cd, $C^{+6}$ The result are 1)The COD was generally increased to compare before landfall, 2) The Org-P and PCB were not detected at all points, 3) The concentrations of Pb, $C^{+6}$ and As were lower than the environmental criteria values, 4) The CN, Hg and Cd were over envirommental criteria values. and so emergent regulation is needed, 5) The effects of the streamwater contamination were not only the leachate of the landfall, but also the small factories and agricultural land around the landfill.

IODP Expedition 311에서 채취한 퇴적물 시료들의 TOC 함량은 대부분 1 %미만이고 육지에서 해안으로 갈수록 높은 함량을 보여준다. TOC/TN비는 4에서 10의 범위를 가지고 있으며, 이 값은 대부분의 유기물들이 육성식물 보다는 조류기원임을 보여준다. 반면에 Rock-Eval 분석 열분석결과는 유기물들이 Type III 의 육성식물 기원임을 지시하고, 대부분의 유기물들이 미성숙단계 (immature stage)에 있음을 보여준다. 유기물 기원에 대한 지화학적 지시자들 사이의 불일치를 해결하기위해 유기물의 탄소동위원소 ($^{13}C_{org}$) 분석을 실시하였다. 분석된 유기물 탄소동위원소 값은 -28.4 $%_o$,에서 -23.0 $%_o$의 범위를 가지고 있으며, 이는 유기물들이 식물성 기원보다는 해수 및 담수의 조류가 혼합된 기원이 우세하다는 j것을 지시해준다.

Objectives : To review the history, the theoretical basis and the technique of Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS), papers and books on IMS were searched. Methods : 15 papers were searched with the keyword 'Gunn CC' at Pubmed(http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?db=pubmed). Several full texts of them and other papers were found at the internet homepage of The Institute for the Study and Treatment of Pain (http://www.istop.org/). 16 Korean papers on IMS were searched at KoreaMed(http://www.koreamed.org/SearchBasic.php) and Koreanstudies Infomation Service System(http://kiss.kstudy.com/KsiKiss.asp). Results : Dr. Gunn has made unique model which can explain the pathology of chronic pain and the mechanism of acupuncture treatment. In this model, he postulated that most of chronic pain is radiculopathy due to spondylosis and acupuncture treatment to the hyperalgesic muscle can restore the normal function of involved muscles and nerves. Conclusions : IMS is an acupuncture technique in which the muscles under the Ah-shi or tender points in periphery and intrasegmental paravertebral muscles are stimulated with needles.
