We investigate the factors affecting the price of apartments using the spatial and temporal data of private real estate prices. The factors affecting the price of apartment were analyzed using geographical and temporal weighted regression (GTWR) model which incorporates the temporal and spatial variation. In contrast to the OLS, a general approach used in previous studies, and GWR method which is most widely used for analyzing spatial data, GTWR considers both temporal and spatial characteristics of the house price, and leads to better description of the house price determination. Year of construction and floor area are selected as the significant factors from the analysis, and the house price are affected by them temporally and geographically.
Lots of previous researches on determinants of apartment prices in Korea consider spatial dependence while few studies regard endogeneity of spatial lag by adding a spatial lag to an OLS regression. Thus, this study intends to include this spatial lag in its analysis of determinants of apartment price in Busan by using a two-stage quantile regression. The empirical results are : the coefficient of spatial lag variable is more than 0.5 and is statistically significant at 1% level. From this result we can confirm that the effect of the price of nearby apartment on that of another apartment is very big. We also find that apartment buyers prefer larger size, height in both the total floors and living floor, south-facing living room with a ocean view, and proximity to metros, high school and coast. Unlike our expectation, however, mountain view is less favored than building view, which we can guess is because apartments with mountain views are mostly located in the low-priced apartment area where some of their living rooms face north. Quantile regression also explains the effect of hedonic characteristics on apartment price better than OLS estimation. For instance, the effect of south facing living room variable on the price is twice larger in high-price apartments than in low-price counterparts. And the effect of vicinity to the coast or the ocean is ten times bigger in high priced apartments.
In the study, we try to get reliable estimates of intergenerational income mobility in Korea. At first, we show that the low estimates of previous studies are mainly due to sample selection problem. The direct estimations using OLS after correcting this problem show higher values than previous estimates. We also compute the attenuation bias by decomposing the variances of earnings into the variances of permanent and transitory components of earnings by the results of the regression. Additionally, we try to estimate the range of intergenerational mobility by comparing the OLS results with the results of the two samples instrumental variable estimation and the three samples instrumental variable estimation. The results of these estimations are a little higher than or similar to OLS results.
This paper analyzes the distribution and determinants of income of the self-employed, in comparison with salaried workers. Relative to salaried workers, in general, the self-employed tend to have a larger dispersion of income and larger heterogeneity. In this regard, the quantile regression analysis was used, along with a typical OLS regression analysis. According to the empirical findings, the income of the self-employed is larger than that of salaried workers, and this difference is larger for higher income group. The marginal effect of education is larger for higher income groups for both the self-employed and salaried workers, implying the return on education is larger for higher income groups. In contrast, for self-employed women, the marginal effect of education is smaller for higher income groups. Put differently, the return on education in the labor market is larger for salaried workers and self-employed men of high income groups as compared to those of low income groups, whereas the opposite holds for self-employed women.

The ordinary least squares estimator $S^2$ for the variance of the disturbances is considered in the linear regression model with sutocorrelated disturbances. It is proved that the OLS-estimator of disturbance variance is asymptotically unbiased and weakly consistent, when the distrubances are generated by an MA(q) process. In particular, the asymptotic unbiasedness and consistency of $S^2$ is satisfied without any restriction on the regressor matrix.
During the last few decades dramatic expansion of education occurred for women as well as men in Korea. Taking into account such a rapid expansion of education, this study examines trends in the effects of education on first occupational attainment among Korean women. Using the data from "the 4th Survey on Women's Employment," conducted by Korean Women's Development Institute in 2001, this study investigates the trends across three cohorts classified on the basis of the year of labor force entry after schooling: before 1980, 19801989, and 1990 or later. First, log-linear models are applied to the data to detect the temporal change in the overall association between education and first occupational attainment controlling for marginal distribution. The log-linear analysis shows that the strength of association between education and first occupation has declined over time. An additional analysis of OLS regression is conducted to see how the effects of each level of educational attainment on occupational prestige have changed across the three cohorts. The results of OLS regression suggest that the differences in prestige scores between the lowest and each of other educational levels are narrower in recent cohorts.t cohorts.

This study aims to examine the presence of non-stationary relationship between water quality and land use in watersheds. In investigating the relationships between land use and water quality, most previous studies adopted OLS method which is assumed stationarity. However, this approach is difficult to capture the local variation of the relationships. We used 146 sampling data and land cover data of Korean Ministry of Environment to build conventional regressions and GWR models for BOD, TN and TP. Regression model and GWR models of BOD, TN, TP were compared with $R^2$, AICc and Moran's I. The results of comparisons and descriptive statistics of GWR models strongly indicated the presence of Non-Stationarity between water quality and land use.

The study examines economic and environmental impacts of mass tourism on regional tourism destinations, particularly the establishment of "Ten New Bali", in Indonesia. The sample is restricted to the period of time in which annual data is available and comparable among variables from 1980 to 2015 (36 observations). All of the time series data was collected and retrieved from the World Development Indicator database published by the World Bank. This study applies cointegrating regression analysis using the fully modified OLS, canonical cointegrating regression, and dynamic OLS. The results of the study suggest that 1) there is a long-run equilibrium relationship between tourism receipts, environmental degradation and economic growth in Indonesia, 2) tourism growth and agriculture land growth are positively related to an increase of total output in the short-run in Indonesia, and 3) arable land is significant at the 0.01 level, but forest rents and CO2 from transport are not significant in the short-run in Indonesia. The results confirm that arable land is negatively related to an increase of total output in Indonesia. That is, when tourism growth in the economy is getting realized it shows that the environmental degradation increases greatly in inverse in the model, eventually negative impacts to the environment.

The creep crack growth rate (da/dt) of the Cr-Mo steels tested by pre-crack and the voltage (or resistance) variables were related into fracture parameter (Ct), crack growth coefficient (H), and an exponent (q) in the parts of Base, weld and HAZ. The fracture parameter (Ct) has various variables relating to the specimen and crack shape, applied stress, and creep strain curve. The H and q was inferred by OLS regression (ordinary least square method), and the H values were solved in statistics and probability assessment, which were attained fromPDF's distributions (probability density function). The HAZ part has the highest value of q by OLS regression and the widest distribution of H by PDF of WEIBULL, which means that the crack sensitivity of HAZ should be cautioned against the creep crack growth and failure.

This study aims is to determine the factors that influence Indonesian rubber export supply based on the export destination countries. Indonesian rubber export supply is thought to be influenced by the variables like the volume of Indonesia rubber exports, the price of Indonesian natural rubber, the volume of domestic rubber production, the export volume of the previous period, the rupiah exchange rate against US$, the interest rate and real Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The data used is the annual time series from 1995-2015 based on export countries encompassing the United States, China, and Japan. Multiple linear regression with the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method is applied to analyse the data. The results showed that the volume of Indonesian rubber exports to China is not influenced by domestic natural rubber prices and the Rupiah exchange rate against the Chinese Yuan. The volume of Indonesian rubber exports to Japan is influenced by the volume of domestic rubber production. The volume of Indonesian rubber exports to the three destination countries is influenced by the volume of domestic rubber production, interest rate, and real GDP.
