The transformer is fabricated with two piezoelectric vibrator with the divided electrodes and adhesive insulator. We applied the electric input to the driving vibrator in parallel and connect the output voltage to the generating vibrator in series to the resistor load near its fundamental resonance frequency. Then we investigate output voltage in series twice as large as in parallal. Moreover we investigate the load characteristics at resonance frequencies under various resistor and the frequency characteristics near the resonance frequency under no load. Its equvalent circuit is derived from the Mason's model of a thickness-driven piezelectric vibrator. By its equevalent circuit, symbolic expressions for input impedances, voltage ratios, resonance frequencies, and bandwidths have been derived. The values calculated from those symbolic exprssions are shown to agree well with the measurement values.

A diarylurea compound 1 possessing pyrrolo[3,2-$c$]pyridine nucleus was designed and synthesized with structure similarity to Sorafenib. Compound 1 was tested over 60-cancer cell line panel at a single dose concentration of 10 ${\mu}M$ and showed high activity. It was further tested in a five-dose mode to determine its $IC_{50}$, TGI, and $LC_{50}$ values over the 60 cell lines. Compound 1 showed high potency and good efficacy, and was accordingly tested at a single dose concentration of 10 ${\mu}M$ over a panel of 40 kinases. At this concentration, it completely inhibited the enzymatic activities of a number of oncogenic kinases, including ABL, ALK, c-RAF, FLT3, KDR, and TrkB. The target compound was subsequently tested over these 6 kinases in 10-dose testing mode in order to determine its $IC_{50}$ values.

Three known triterpenoids were isolated from MeOH extract of C. apiifolia (Ranunculaceae). Their structures were identified as oleanolic acid (1), ursolic acid (2), hederagenic acid (3) by comparison of their physicochemical and spectral data with the literature values. Among them, 2 was isolated for the first time from this plant. The isolated compounds were evaluated for their cytotoxicity against L1210, HL-60, SK-OV-3 tumor cell lines. All compounds 1-3 were shown good activities with $IC_{50}$ values ranging from 7.7 to $25.6\;{\mu}g/ml. This result suggests that triterpenoids 1-3 are main cytotoxic principles of this plant.

PURPOSES : This paper proposes a reliability index for the safety evaluation of freeway sections. It establishes a reliability index as a safety surrogate on freeways considering speeds and speed dispersions. METHODS : We collated values of design elements including radii, curve lengths, vertical slopes (absolute values), superelevations, and vertical slopes from seven freeway sections in Korea. We also collected data about driving speeds, traffic accidents, and their deviations. We established a reliability index using these variables. RESULTS : The average radii, curve lengths, and superelevations are highly correlated with the incidence of traffic accidents. Deviations in radius and curve lengths show an especially high correlation. The reliability index, derived from speed and speed dispersions of the seven freeway sections, also correlated highly with accidents with a correlation index of 0.63. CONCLUSIONS : Since the reliability index obtained from speed and speed dispersions are highly correlated with traffic accidents, we conclude that a reliability index can be a safety surrogate on freeways considering speeds and speed dispersions together in terms of design and operational levels.

Noise radiated from the powertrain is an important factor of the vehicle interior noise. In this paper, Finite Element(FE) model and Boundary Element(BE) models were created. The FE model was updated by doing a correlation between experimental modal analysis(EMA) values and finite element analysis(FEA) values. Main bearing forces were calculated using a running modal data. The forced vibration analysis was simulated using the software MSC/NASTRAN, and the radiated noise was predicted using the software LMS/VIRTUAL.LAB.

The combustion kinetics of poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) was studied by the dynamic model which accounts for the thermal decomposition of polymer at any time. The kinetic analysis was performed by a conventional nonisothermal thermogravimetric (TG) technique at several heating rates between 10 and 40 K/min in air atmosphere. The thermal decomposition of PET in air atmosphere was found to be a complex process composed of at least two stages for which kinetic values can be calculated. The combustion kinetic analysis of PET gave apparent activation energy for the first stage of $257.3{\sim}269.9\;kJ/mol$, with a value of $140.5{\sim}213.8\;kJ/mol$ for the second stage. To verify the effectiveness of the kinetic analysis method used in this work, the kinetic analysis results were compared with those of various analytical methods. The kinetic parameters were also compared with values of the pyrolysis of PET in nitrogen atmosphere.

In this paper, proposal circuit proposes that load parallel resonant DC-DC Converter consist of L and C resonant tank circuit. Also, the capacitor$(C_1,\;C2)$ connected in switch are a common using by resonance capacitor and ZVS capacitor. The analysis of proposed circuit uses normalized parameter and characteristic estimation which is needed in each step before design is generally described the proposed circuit with the characteristics of average power and average output voltage etc. Alse, we conform a rightfulness theoretical analysis by comparing a theoretical values and experimental values obtained from experiment using MOSFET as switching devices.

Epipolar images have to be generated to stereo display aerial images or satellite images. Pushbroom sensor is used to acquire high resolution satellite images. These satellite images have curvilinear epipolar lines unlike the epipolar lines of frame images, which are straight lines. The aforementioned fact makes it difficult to generate epipolar images for pushbroom satellite images. If we assume a linear transition of the sensor having constant speed and attitude during image acquisition, we can generate epipolar images based on parallel projection model (2D Affine model). Recent high resolution images are provided with RPC values so that we can exploit these values to generate epipolar images without using ground control points and tie point. This paper provides a procedure based on the parallel projection model for generating epipolar images directly from a stereo IKONOS images, and experimental results.

A canonical correlation analysis(CCA)-based method is proposed for prediction of future climate change which combines information from ensembles of atmosphere-ocean general circulation models(AOGCMs) and observed climate values. This paper focuses on predictions of future climate on a regional scale which are of potential economic values. The proposed method is obtained by coupling the classical CCA with empirical orthogonal functions(EOF) for dimension reduction. Furthermore, we generate a distribution of climate responses, so that extreme events as well as a general feature such as long tails and unimodality can be revealed through the distribution. Results from real data examples demonstrate the promising empirical properties of the proposed approaches.

Array comparative genomic hybridization (aCGH) has been used to detect chromosomal regions of amplifications or deletions, which allows identification of new cancer related genes. As aCGH, a large-scale spatial data, contains significant amount of noises in its raw data, it has been an important research issue to segment genomic DNA regions to detect its true underlying copy number aberrations (CNAs). In this study, we focus on applying a segmentation method to multiple data sets. We compare two different threshold values for analyzing aCGH data with CBS method [1]. The proposed threshold values are p-value or $Q{\pm}1.5IQR$ and $Q{\pm}1.5IQR$.
