The Signal Distortion Due to the Electromagnetic Induction Inside a Cable (전선의 전자기유도 현상에 의한 신호 왜곡)

  • Electric cables such as multi-interphone cables and ribbon cab]os are commonly used for data aquisition in the DC resistivity survey. In general, electromagnetic induction may occur in the electric cables when electric current flows through them. In case of using multi-interphone cables in the DC resistivity survey, electromagnetic induction could take place due to the entangled wires of the multi-interphone cables, when the current flows through them. Then, the electromagnetic induction may cause measured DC resistivity data to be distorted. In this study, a monitoring system with PXI (PCI Extention for Instrumentation) was constructed to examine signal distortion on the DC resistivity data, attributed to the electromagnetic induction. Common electric cables used in the DC resistivity survey were tested to observe the waveforms of the electric voltages. The waveforms measured were compared to examine signal distortion due to the electromagnetic induction. The results may provide information on the resistivity data obtained using different electric cables in the DC resistivity survey. The distortion of waveforms attributed to the electromagnetic induction wat not observed when using ribbon cables for DC resistivity data aquisition, while the distortion were observed when using multi-interphone. Therefore, the ribbon cables provide better quality of data than other cables in the DC resistivity data aquisition.

A Practical Approach to Implement QoS in Broadband Access Networks (광대역 접속망에서 QoS 구현을 위한 현실적 접근법)

  • Most of the existing broadband access networks based on DSL, cable modem, and Ethernet support the best-effort internet access service, and adopt the flat rate pricing mechanism. It is almost impossible to provide the differentiated communication services, in current broadband access networks, for the different users and/or the different application services. Currently, however, the advances in multimedia, communication, and security technologies push the interactive and/or streaming multimedia services and VPN services to be widely deployed over Internet, and they require more QoS-sensitive services than the best-effort service. Though various QoS technologies such as RSVP-based IntServ and DiffSern were already developed and under standardization in Internet world, it is impractical to replace the existing QoS-unaware access networks with the QoS-enabled ones at a time to deploy QoS-sensitive services. In this paper, after analyzing current broadband access network architectures and the status of QoS support, we propose a practical approach to support multimedia QoS in the broadband access networks. The approach will be based on the integration of the differentiated pricing and the DiffServ technology. And it will be a step-wise approach to support backward compatibility with the legacy broadband access networks as much as possible.

Algorithm Calculating Optimal DG Capacity Considering Operating Deficit in Hybrid Internal Combustion Generation (하이브리드 내연발전에서 도서 운영 결손액을 고려한 분산전원 최적 용량 산정 알고리즘)

  • Internal combustion generation (ICG) is used to supply power to islands due to geographical characteristics, but there are some problems, such as considerable operating cost, salt pollution, and environmental pollution. For these islands, KEPCO pays a significant amount of operating deficit each year, especially for the fuel and servicing costs, which account for a large portion of this deficit. Integrated ICG (IICG) through an offshore cable between near islands is being considered to decrease servicing costs. Distributed generation (DG) is also being introduced on the islands because of the demand for a low-carbon society. In hybrid internal combustion generation (HICG), DG is introduced into IICG, which can be applied because the DG output is insufficient due to environmental characteristics, and the IICG is used as an auxiliary power source. Therefore, this paper proposes an algorithm to estimate the optimal DG capacity that can be introduced in accordance with the KEPCO operating deficit in the HICG. According to simulations, the optimal DG capacity depends on the fuel cost and load capacity. The validity of the proposed algorithm was confirmed for multiple islands with different peak loads.

By using attached every electro-magnetic tag, someone detects it's native information as well as environmental information such as temperature, humidity, pollution and infiltration information(Sensor). someone connects it realtime network and manage generated information(Network). 21st century's war is joint combined operation connecting with ground, sea and air smoothly in digitalized war field, and is systematic war provided realtime information from sensor to shooter. So, it needs dramatic development on watch reconnaissance, command and control, pinpoint strike etc. Ubiquitous computing and network technologies are essential in national defense to operate 21st century style war. It is possible to use many parts such as USN combined smart dust and sensor network to protect friend unit as well as to watch enemy's deep area by unmanned reconnaissance, wearable computer upgrading soldier's operational ability and combat power dramatically, RFID which can be used material management as well as on time support. Especially, unmanned watch system using USN is core part to transit network centric military service and to get national defense efficiency which overcome the dilemma of national defense person resource reducing, and upgrade guard quality level, and improve combat power by normalizing guardian's bio rhythm. According to the test result of sensor network unmanned watch system, it needs more effort and time to stabilize because of low USN technology maturity and using maturity. In the future, USN unmanned watch system project must be decided the application scope such as application area and starting point by evaluating technology maturity and using maturity. And when you decide application scope, you must consider not only short period goal as cost reduction, soldier decrease and guard power upgrade but also long period goal as advanced defense ability strength. You must build basic infra in advance such as light cable network, frequency allocation and power facility etc. First of all, it must get budget guarantee and driving force for USN unmanned watch system project related to defense policy. You must forwarded the USN project assuming posses of operation skill as procedure, system, standard, training in advance. Operational skill posses is come from step by step application strategy such as test phase, introduction phase, spread phase, stabilization phase and also repeated test application taking example project.

  • The traditional broadcasting services over terrestrial, satellite and cable media have been unidirectional mass media regardless of TV viewer's preferences. Recently ich media streaming has become possible via the broadb and networks. Furthermore, since bidirectional communication is possible, personalcasting such as personalized streaming services has been emerging by taking into account the user's preference on content genres, viewing times and actors/actresses etc. Accordingly, personal media becomes an important means for content provision service in addition to the traditional broadcasting service as mass media. In this paper, we introduce a user profile reasoning method for target advertisement which is considered an important application in personalcasting service. The proposed user profile reasoning method predicts an unknown TV viewer's gender and ages by analyzing TV Viewing history data. Based on the estimated user's gender and ages, a target advertisement is provided with TV Anytime metadata. A proposed target advertisement system is developed based on the user profile reasoning and the target advertisement selection method. To show the effectiveness of our proposed methods, we present a plenty of experimental results by using realistic TV viewing history data.

A Study on the Reliability Improvement of Compartment Leak Test in Surface Vessels (함정 격실기밀 평가 방안에 대한 신뢰성 향상 연구)

  • Generally, surface vessels have many compartments for operation and living quarters, and each compartment is an important space for the ship's survivability. During ship construction, a compartment leak test is necessary and is carried out on each vessel. However, the current test method is in doubt when looking at the actual test results. The reason is that only one pressure gauge is used for the measurement to check the air, so an uncomprehended phenomenon is detected during group compartment leak tests. From this point of view, an improved test device and method are needed. In this study, a multi-channel data acquisition device with multiple pressure sensors is proposed to detect each compartment's pressure variation or pressure drop. This test is a more confidential compartment leak test than the current method, and the test device can show real-time pressure detection values of each of the pressure sensors, which are installed in each compartment, including unmanned space.

Field Test and Performance Verification of On-board Oriented Train Control System (차상중심 열차제어시스템의 현장시험을 통한 성능검증)

  • There is an operational efficiency problem about wayside equipment applied to the domestic low-density branch as the equipment has been installed and operated similarly in the mainline. On-board oriented train control system, which has been developed for train safety and operation efficiency, ensures safe train operation without expensive ground control signal devices. Such system consists of on-board control system, wayside control system, and local control system. In this paper, the details of tests such as suitability test, communication test, and interface test are described by installing the on-board control system and wayside control system in field. Installation tests include checking power, voltage, cable connection, LED status, etc. Field applicability of the developed system is also verified through the dynamic operation tests with diverse scenarios, which are performed on the virtual line similar to the real environment including switch machine and level crossing gate. Dynamic operation tests were conducted for total 7 scenarios, and several tests were repeated for each scenario. The elapsed time for each operation was computed by analyzing main process log, and we could check that each operation was accomplished within several seconds. Furthermore, the developed system was verified through field test with an accredited institute, and testing certificates were issued.

  • 최근 광섬유 센서기술의 수요는 전 산업분야에 걸쳐 높아지고 있으며, 이에 비례하여 기업 간, 국가 간 경쟁이 첨예화되고 있다. 또한 소형화, 경량화, 고성능화 센서에 대한 요구도 높아지고 있어 종래의 각종 센서들의 형태와 개선을 위한 연구개발이 매우 활발하게 전개되고 있으므로 이를 대체할 수 있는 광섬유 센서의 수요가 급격히 늘어날 전망이다. 기존 침입자 감지 시스템은 태풍, 낙뢰, 폭설, 폭우 등의 기상변화나 지반 흔들림, 통행차량 진동 및 전자기 간섭 등에 영향을 받아 오작동, 오경보가 빈번히 발생된다. 이러한 문제의 해결책으로 광섬유 센서 케이블을 이용한 시스템이 대안으로 부각되고 있다. 현재 국내에서 군부대, 공항을 중심으로 펜스와 휴전선 철책에 힘입자 감지를 위하여 도입되고 있다. 광섬유 센서 케이블을 사용하는 광망경비시스템은 광섬유 센서 케이블을 그물망 형태(광망)로 만들어 경계 지역에 설치된다. 광망경비시스템의 원리는 광섬유에 광펄스를 입사시켜 순환시키는데 침입자가 광망을 절단하거나 외력을 가할 경우 발생되는 레일리 산란에 기인하는 후방산란과 접속점과 파단점에서 생기는 반사광을 OTDR(Optical Time Domain Reflectometer)로 검출하여 침입상황 및 침입위치를 탐지한다. 그러나 이러한 침입자 감지를 위한 광망경비시스템의 핵심부품인 광섬유 센서 케이블은 기존에 전량 해외수입에 의존하고 있는 실정이며, 지금까지 국내에서 생산하기 위한 제작 기술과 노하우가 초보단계에 머물러 있다. 이러한 광섬유 센서 케이블 제작에 있어서 중요한 부분이 패키징 기술이라 할 수 있다. 이는 광섬유 센서를 일반적인 피복 구조로 패키징하게 되면, 센서 고유의 특성이 패키징 과정과 운반과정, 포설과정에서 변하게 되고 센서로써의 신뢰성이 크게 저하된다. 본 연구에서는 힘입자 감지용 광섬유 센서 케이블의 설계와 제작을 위한 제조공법을 확립하고, 이를 이용해 제작된 광섬유 센서 케이블의 신뢰성 특성을 평가하였다. 설계 제작된 광섬유 센서 케이블의 구조는 멀티모드광섬유(MMF) 에 0.9 mm Tight buffer를 코팅하고, 광심선 주위에 아라미드 얀을 삽입시킨 후 고문자 수지를 적용하여 외부 피복 (jacket)을 하였다. 제작된 광섬유 센서 케이블의 외경 측정결과 기준치 ($2.95\;{\pm}\;0.03$ mm)를 모두 만족하였고, 850 nm 파장에서의 광 손실 측정 결과 4.0 dB/km 이하였다. 또한 주요 항목의 신뢰성 특성 시험결과, 인장강도는 8~10 kg의 인장력을 갖으며 온도순환시험 ($-30^{\circ}C\;{\sim}\;+75^{\circ}C$)에서의 광 손실은 0.6 dB 이하로 나타나 침입자 감지용 광섬유 센서 케이블로 적합함을 확인할 수 있었다.

Design and Performance Evaluation of a Scheduling Algorithm for Edge Node supporting Assured Service in High-speed Internet Access Networks (초고속 인터넷 접속망에서 보장형 서비스 제공을 위한 경계 노드의 스케줄링 알고리즘 설계 및 성능 분석)

  • Recently, subscribers have strong desire to get QoS based personalized services in high-speed Internet access. Service providers have been rapidly replacing ADSL, cable broadband access networks with Metro-Ethernet based VDSL. But, it is difficult for Motto-Ethernet based broadband access networks to provide QoS based personalized services, because already deployed network elements cannot distinguish subscribers by specific traffic characteristics. In this paper, when the access network has tree topology, we show that it is possible to provide QoS for each downstream flow with only per flow traffic shaping at the edge node without QoS functions in access networks. In order to show that our suggested scheduling algorithm at the edge node can support the assured service in tree topology access networks, we evaluated its performance by simulation. The suggested scheduling algorithm can shape per-flow traffic based on the maximum bandwidth, and guarantees minimum bandwidth per flow by modifying the DRR scheduler. Simulation results show that congestion and loss in the access network elements are greatly reduced, TCP performance is highly enhanced and loss for assured CBR service flows is reduced by only shaping per-flow traffic at the edge node using our proposed scheduling algorithm.

Application of Tuned Mass Damper to Suppress Man-Induced Vibrations of Cable Stayed Foot-bridge (사장교형식 보도교의 보행진동제어를 위한 TMD 적용)

  • 본 연구에서는 중앙경간 54m, 교폭 4m의 사장교형식의 보도교로 측경간은 계단으로 이루어진 1경간 케이블교량을 대상으로 보행하중에 의한 수직진동을 제어하기 위해 제진장치(TMD)를 적용하기로 하고 실물 TMD의 설계 및 제작 그리고 설치 및 제어성능실험을 수행하였다. 우선 사장교형식의 교량. 그리고 1경간 교량이라는 점에서 상대적으로 감쇠율이 낮을 것으로 예측되었고 또한 54m의 경간장이 보행자가 가진 주파수에 근접한 고유진동수를 나타낼 것으로 사료되어 Eurocode 2 part 2(EC5-2)의 규준에 따라 1인 및 다수 보행하중에 의한 보도교의 발생가속도를 산출하였다. 이 경우 최대가속도는 다수의 보행자가 연속적으로 진행할 때 발생하였으며, 수직방향의 가속도가 사용성기준을 초과하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 구조해석프로그램에 의한 고유치 해석결과, 보행하중의 주파수대역내에 진동모드가 존재하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 본 교량의 설계단계에 있어서 보행진동을 제어하기 위하여 유지관리가 용이한 수동형의 동조질량감쇠장치(Tuned Mass Damper)를 적용하기로 하였으며 TMD의 설계에서는 TMD의 제어목표를 만족시킬 수 있는 TMD의 가동질량(moving mass)을 우선적으로 결정하였고, 이로부터 Den Hartog의 제안식에 따라 TMD의 고유진동수비, 유효감쇠비를 산정하였다. 산정된 변수들을 이용하여 설계된 TMD는 현장설치 및 튜닝의 편의성을 고려하여 수평 외팔보형식으로 설계, 제작되었으며 제작된 TMD의 경우 회전축에 대해 질량, 스프링, 댐퍼의 중심거리를 조정함으로써 TMD의 진동수, 강성, 감쇠력을 상대적으로 매우 용이하게 조절할 수 있으며, 조정범위 또한 광범위하여 일반 TMD에 비해 현장설치시 대상구조물에 동조시키기가 용이하며, 작동시 마찰감쇠가 거의 없다는 장점이 있다. 현장설치전에 제작된 TMD를 대상으로 자유진동 시험을 통하여 질량의 중심거리, 스프링 크기 그리고 댐퍼의 설치유무를 각각 변화시키며 TMD의 자유진동 데이터를 취득하였다. 각각의 시험에서 얻어진 데이터로부터 스펙트럼해석을 통하여 고유진동수를 구하였고, 자유진동 파형으로 부터 감쇠비를 구하였다. TMD는 일반적으로 제어모드의 변형형상이 가장 큰 곳에 설치되었을 때 최대의 제진효과를 발휘할 수 있다. 그러나 현장여건상 설치가 불가능하거나 미관을 해치는 경우에는 가능한 범위 내에서 TMD 제어효율이 가장 크게 발휘할 수 있는 곳을 선택하여야 한다. 본 보도교의 경우, 중앙경간 중심부에서 가장 큰 모드변형형상을 나타내지만, 보도교의 상판 연결부 등에 따른 TMD 시공문제로 인하여 TMD 설치위치는 교량 중앙에서 양 방향으로 1.25m 떨어진 곳에 대칭으로 총 2기를 설치하기로 하였다. 일반적으로 TMD의 모든 설계변수는 구조물의 설계단계에서 수행된 구조해석결과에 근거하여 설정하므로 완공된 구조물, 즉 실제보도교의 동적특성을 계측하여 정확하게 진동수를 튜닝하여야 한다. 구조해석에 의한 보도교의 수직방향(TMD 작동방향) 고유진동수는 1.5225 Hz이며, 감쇠비는 규준에 의하여 0.6 %로 가정하였다. 그러나 이 값들은 구조해석모델 및 재료적 특성과 시공상의 오차에 의하여 실제와 다를 수 있으므로 현장계측에 의한 확인이 요구된다. 또한 TMD의 제진효율이 설계시의 목표대로 확보되었는지도 확인해야 하므로 현장튜닝 및 성능시험을 실시하였다. 보도교의 가진은 사전에 실시한 상시 미진동계측결과를 토대로 2Hz를 목표로 하여 인력가진실험을 수행하였고, 탁월진동 주파수는 1.9896Hz로 나타나 구조해석결과와 오차가 있음을 알 수 있다. 가진실험결과를 토대로 TMD의 진동수를 최적진동수비로 튜닝하고 인력가진 실험을 다시 실시하여 TMD의 진동제어성능을 검토하였다. TMD 튜닝 전, 후의 보도교 감쇠비를 비교한 결과, TMD를 설치함으로써 약 4.218%의 감쇠비 증가가 있음을 알 수 있다.
