Study on Moving Pretreatment Filtering Intake Device (이동식 전처리 여과취수장치에 관한 연구)

  • 본 연구는 급변하는 기후변화에 대응하기 위한 이동식 전처리 여과취수장치 및 이를 이용한 물 생산용 취수시스템에 관한 것으로 홍수시나 가뭄시 이물질과 부유물질의 제거를 통해 후속 여과 장치의 부하 경감과 여과 효율의 극대화를 꾀할 수 있고, 필요시 비상용수 및 생활용수로 신속히 활용할 수 있는 시설에 관한 것이다. 기존 이동식 물생산장치의 수처리 공정은 1NTU 내외의 깨끗한 물이 유입되지 않으면 여과기(RO SYSTEM) 막이 폐색되어 생산된 물의 수질이 일정치 않아 재난 시 활용하는데 어려움이 있었다. 반면에 본 연구의 물 생산용 취수시스템은 전처리 여과취수를 통해 이물질과 부유물질의 제거가 가능하여 후속 여과 장치의 부하 경감을 통해 유지관리비용 최소화와 여과 효율의 극대화를 꾀할 수 있고, 필요시 신속히 생활용수로 활용할 수 있으며, 다양한 급수원(하천, 저수지, 댐, 지하수 등)을 통한 수량 확보가 가능하고, 평상시 다용도(하천정화, 녹조제거, 도로 청소, 조경수 등)로 사용이 가능한 물생산시스템이다. 또한, 비상시 이동식 차량에 탑재하여 이동 및 운반이 가능할뿐만 아니라 저수지나 댐 또는 하천 등의 원수를 취수하여 이중 관 구조의 여과기를 통한 전처리로 지속적인 여과력을 발휘하여 이물질이나 부유물질을 신속히 제거하고, 역세척수 공급으로 여과재를 쉽게 역세척할 수 있어 여과 성능의 저하를 방지할 수 있다. 본 연구에서의 이동식 전처리 여과취수장치는 다양한 조건에서의 수치모의를 수행하여 평상시나 비상시 다용도의 필요수량을 확보할 수 있도록 장치의 최적화를 수행하였으며, 이를 통해 안정적인 수자원 확보와 활용이 가능하고, 국내 물 시장에서 물생산시스템의 다양성을 확보하여 국민경제에 기여할 수 있고, 향후 물 부족 국가의 ODA 사업에 진출하여 수출증대 효과를 얻을 수 있을 것이다.

Tc-99m hydroxymethylene diphosphonate scintigraphy, computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging of osteonecrosis in the mandible: Osteoradionecrosis versus medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw

  • Purpose: To present characteristic findings of Tc-99m hydroxymethylene diphosphonate (HMDP) scintigraphy, computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance (MR) imaging for osteonecrosis in the mandible, especially osteoradionecrosis(ORN) and medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw(MRONJ). Materials and Methods: Thirteen patients with MRONJ and 7 patients with ORN in the mandible underwent Tc-99m HMDP scintigraphy, CT, and MR imaging (T1-weighted images[T1WI], T2-weighted images[T2WI], short inversion time inversion recovery images[STIR]), diffusion-weighted images[DWI], and apparent diffusion coefficient [ADC] mapping). The associations of scintigraphy, CT, and MR imaging findings with MRONJ and ORN were analyzed using the chi-square test with the Pearson exact test. Results: Thirteen patients with MRONJ and 7 patients with ORN in the mandible showed low signal intensity on T1WI and ADC mapping, high signal intensity on STIR and DWI, and increased uptake on scintigraphy. Periosteal bone proliferation on CT was observed in 69.2% of patients with MRONJ(9 of 13) versus 14.3% of patients with ORN(1 of 7)(P=0.019). Conclusion: This study presented characteristic imaging findings of MRONJ and ORN on scintigraphy, CT, and MR imaging. Our results suggest that CT can be effective for detecting MRONJ and ORN.

A Case Study of SW Expert Training Platform Based on International Cooperation: HRD Center in Cambodia

  • In recent years, international cooperation has become important not only at the humanitarian level but also at the socio-economic level. As a result, major foreign countries are increasing capital-intensive international cooperation. In this environment, Korea needs to look for differentiated international cooperation plans centered on sustainable talent cultivation and move away from capital-based international cooperation. In this study, we analyzed the case of HRD (Human Resource Development) center in Cambodia as an international cooperation model between industry-academia-college for training software (SW) workforce. The HRD Center in Cambodia is an educational institution that fosters SW talent and can be viewed as an international cooperation model that can influence the ICT industry in Cambodia as an educational platform. In fact, 190 people who have been hired so far have entered various fields. 97% of graduates have been satisfied with HRD center and 90% of them are willing to recommend the center. In particular, as highlighted in the case study, the HRD Center has had a positive effect on not only cultivating self-initiated learning-based SW talent, but also formulating positive image of Korea and Korean companies thereby facilitating entry into the global market. The HRD Center in Cambodia has developed a virtuous cycle of fostering human resources, providing education, advancing industry and building a cooperative network. Korea has transformed into a platform for international cooperation and human resource development and education by providing active support and aid. This case study will be utilized as a new model of international cooperation with SW expert training platform for Korea.

Case Study on Certification System of Parts Repair for Commercial Aircraft Engine (상용항공기 엔진부품 수리 인증체계에 관한 사례연구)

  • Aircraft engine parts repair is a field belonging to the lowest level in the hierarchy of the aircraft industry, and it is marginalized in terms of research, compared to aircraft manufacturing or maintenance that belong to the upper level. On the other hand, in 2019, Korean Air's Powerplant Maintenance Center paid USD $130 million to foreign countries for engine parts repair, making it an industry with great need for localization. To achieve the goal of localizing engine parts repair, a certification system is needed that can perform independent repairs based on the development of repair technology, aligning contractual relationships with engine manufacturers, and free from dependence on engine manufacturers or foreign repair companies. The purpose of this study is to provide a basis for subsequent research to secure an actual certification system by suggesting the need for securing such a certification system.

Estimation of discharge for Namneung river basin using satellite precipitation (위성강수를 이용한 남능강 유역 유출량 추정)

  • 글로벌 위성 기반의 강수량 관측에 대한 역사는 1979년에 Arkin의 의해 제안된 IR(Infra-Red) 방법에 의해 위성으로부터 강우자료를 유도하는 개념이 도입된 이후 1987년 해양에서의 비교적 정확한 강수량 추정이 가능한 다중 채널의 마이크로파(MW) 복사계를 이용한 방법에서 1997년TRMM(Tropical Rainfall Measurement Mission)위성의 PR(Precpipitation Radar)의 레이더를 이용하는 방법, 그리고 2014년 GPM(Global Precipitation Measurement Mission) 핵심 위성(GPM Core Observatory)에 탑재된 Dual PR에 의한 방법으로 위성강수의 정확도를 매우 높여가고 있다(Kim et al. 2013). 한국과 아세안의 경제협력이 증가하면서 국내 ODA 정책에서 아세안은 가장 우선적인 대상이 되었다. 정부는 2011-2015년 기간에 라오스 등 26개 국가를 중점협력국에 포함시켰고, 2021~2025년간 적용될 제3기 중점협력국에 라오스를 포함하고 있다. 본 연구는 위성영상으로부터 유도된 위성강수 자료를 이용하여 라오스의 남능강 유역에 대한홍수량을 추정하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 분석자료인 위성강수 자료는 GSMaP 위성강수 자료를 이용하였다. 이 자료는 1시간의 시간해상도와 0.1°의 공간해상도를 갖는다. 라오스 남능강 유역 9개 지점의 2019년 8월~9월까지의 총강수량 비교 결과 9개 지점의 1일 관측강우의 경우 유역내 평균 약 699.2mm였고, 위성강수는 425.4mm로 위성강수가 과소추정되는 결과를 보이고 있으나 두 자료간의 결정계수(r2)는 약 0.79의 정확도를 보이는 것으로 분석되었다. 위성강수를 이용한 홍수량 분석 결과 같은 시기에서 남능강 유역 출구점의 첨두유출량은 약 5,786m3/s로 분석되었다. 분석도구는 한국건설기술연구원에서 개발하여 운영중인 GRM 강우-유출 모형을 이용하였다. 향후 위성강수와 지점강수의 조합에 의한 다운스케일링 기법에 대한 연구를 수행하여 계측자료가 부족한 지역에서의 홍수량을 분석하는 연구를 진행할 계획이다.

Study on New Concept Flood Barrier Technology against Storm Surge (해일대비 신개념 침수방어벽 기술 개발에 대한 연구)

  • 본 연구는 해안 및 도서지역에서 기후변화에 따라 재해위험이 증가되고 있으므로 '해일대비 신개념 침수방어벽 기술 개발'을 통해, 침수방어벽을 ICT와 연계하여 국민의 재산과 생명을 보호할 수 있도록 하는 연구이다. 이를 위해 국내·외 침수방어벽 자료를 조사하여 연구방향을 설정한 후, 국내·외 침수방어장치에 대한 개선방안을 제시하고자 한다. 기존 침수방어벽의 경우 ICT와 연계되어 있지 않아서 침수 예보나 경보 상황에 대응할 수 없는 실정이었다. 본 연구에서는 ICT 연계 방안을 제시하여 침수에 즉각적으로 대응할 수 있도록 함으로써 국민의 재산과 생명을 보호할 수 있도록 하고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 제시된 ICT 연계 침수방어벽에 대한 설치 대상지 검토 및 사업 대상 후보지를 선정하고, 조건별 수치모의(SWMM, 3D flow, FEM 등)를 통해 능력 검토를 수행하고자 한다. 향후 침수방어벽 시제품을 제작하면서 구조적인 안정성을 확보하도록 하였다. 침수센서의 경우 지주식으로 침수방어벽과 일체형으로 하고, 투명 침수방어벽의 경우 유리에 직접 디스플레이가 가능하도록 하였다. 본 연구에서는 기존에 보유하고 있는 직립형 고무보와 투명 홍수방어벽 기술에 대하여 재질과 구동방식, 시공성, 경제성, 유지관리 용이성 등을 재검토하여 해안 및 도서지역에 적합한 침수방어벽 기술에 대한 시제품과 운영시스템을 개발하고자 하며, 이를 통해 국민의 재산과 생명을 보호하고, 국내 물 시장에서 침수를 방지하여 국민경제에 기여할 수 있으며, 향후 ODA 사업에서 홍수예·경보 및 구조적 대책 분야에 진출하여 수출증대 효과를 얻을 수 있을 것이다.

Applying Appropriate Technology Design in North Korea: An Exploration (대북적정기술 디자인의 도입 및 적용에 대한 탐구)

  • Traditional ODA to North Korea (NK) has been unsustainable and politically contentious. This study proposes the design of appropriate technology (AT) as an alternative. We identified NK residents' urgent needs and global AT instances, and classified data by Maslow's hierarchy of needs. As electricity and potable water were identified as primary needs, suitable AT cases were selected. Given NK's extreme isolation, collaborative AT practices with local residents are unfeasible. Therefore we propose a new AT adoption model customized to NK, which emphasizes community-level adoption. We proposed a solar charging station for cooperative farms, a re-design of an AT previously utilized in Africa, and tailored it to fit our proposed model. The study's significance lies in its novel AT adoption model for NK's unique social fabric and the proposition of a specific design case, thus transcending previous relevant studies exploring AT's potential for NK.

Effects of Polyimide Passivation Layers and polyvinylalcohol Passivation Layers for Organic Thin-Film Transistors(OTFTs) (폴리이미드 패시베이션과 폴리비닐알콜 패시베이션 레이어 성막이 고성능 유기박막 트렌지스터에 주는 영향)

  • In this paper, it was demonstrated that organic thin-film transistors (OTFTs) were fabricated with the organic passivation layer by vapor deposition polymerization (VDP) processing. In order to form polymeric film as a passivation layer, VDP process was also introduced instead of spin-coating process, where polymeric film was co-deposited by high-vacuum thermal evaporation from 6FDA and ODA followed by curing. In order to investigate by compared with different passivation layer, the other OTFTs is fabricated to passivation by Polyvinylalcohol using spincoating. We can see that two different ways of passivation layer affect electric characteristic of OTFTs. The initial electric characteristic of OTFTs before passivation such as field effect mobility, threshold voltage, and on-off current ratio are $0.24cm^2/Vs$, -3V, and $10^6$, respectively. Then after polyimide passivation layer, field effect mobility change from $0.24cm^2/Vs$ to $0.26cm^2/Vs$, threshold voltage from -3V to 1V and on-off current ratio from $10^6$ to $10^6$, respectively. In the case of polyvinylalcohol passivation, the initial electric characteristic of OTFTs before passivation such as field effect mobility, threshold voltage, and on-off current ratio are $0.13cm^2/Vs$, 0V, and $10^6$, respectively. Then after polyvinylalcohol passivation layer, field effect mobility changes from $0.13cm^2/Vs$ to $0.13cm^2/Vs$, threshold voltage from 0V to 2V, and on-off current ratio from $10^6$ to $10^5$, respectively.

Case study on flood water level prediction accuracy of LSTM model according to condition of reference hydrological station combination (참조 수문관측소 구성 조건에 따른 LSTM 모형 홍수위예측 정확도 검토 사례 연구)

  • Due to recent global climate change, the scale of flood damage is increasing as rainfall is concentrated and its intensity increases. Rain on a scale that has not been observed in the past may fall, and long-term rainy seasons that have not been recorded may occur. These damages are also concentrated in ASEAN countries, and many people in ASEAN countries are affected, along with frequent occurrences of flooding due to typhoons and torrential rains. In particular, the Bandung region which is located in the Upper Chitarum River basin in Indonesia has topographical characteristics in the form of a basin, making it very vulnerable to flooding. Accordingly, through the Official Development Assistance (ODA), a flood forecasting and warning system was established for the Upper Citarium River basin in 2017 and is currently in operation. Nevertheless, the Upper Citarium River basin is still exposed to the risk of human and property damage in the event of a flood, so efforts to reduce damage through fast and accurate flood forecasting are continuously needed. Therefore, in this study an artificial intelligence-based river flood water level forecasting model for Dayeu Kolot as a target station was developed by using 10-minute hydrological data from 4 rainfall stations and 1 water level station. Using 10-minute hydrological observation data from 6 stations from January 2017 to January 2021, learning, verification, and testing were performed for lead time such as 0.5, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 hour and LSTM was applied as an artificial intelligence algorithm. As a result of the study, good results were shown in model fit and error for all lead times, and as a result of reviewing the prediction accuracy according to the learning dataset conditions, it is expected to be used to build an efficient artificial intelligence-based model as it secures prediction accuracy similar to that of using all observation stations even when there are few reference stations.

Analysis of Influence Factors and Current Conditions for Korean Railway Export (철도산업 해외진출 영향요인과 여건 분석)

  • This study identifies influence factors for Korean railway export and analyzes the importance and competitiveness of the factors. This study also suggests policy directions for each factor and analyzes the current situation of the Korean railway industry. All influence factors identified in this study turned out to have high levels of importance. Influence factors with higher importance levels for each field are as follows: man-power/experience and skill/technology in the engineering field; price, information and man-power/experience in the construction field; and information, technology, and price in the manufacturing field. However, the level of competitiveness of the factors turned out to be low. This study also suggested policy directions for each influence factor: overall, they turned out to have high levels of importance. Policy directions with high importance for each field are as follows: strengthening overseas' human network, training/educating experts for overseas projects, and accumulating experiences through Official Development Assistance projects in the fields of engineering and construction; and cost reduction and strategical cooperation with foreign companies in the manufacturing field. However, interviewees' satisfaction levels for each policy area turned out to be low. Finally, policy measures for Korean railway export for each influence factor were suggested.
