  • This work was carried out to clarify the subaerial diatoms from Yong-neup (swamp) in Mt. Daeam, near DMZ in Korea from May 1968 to Oct. 1969. These subaerial phytoplanktons live in moss, attaching on moss stems and leaves in air. From this investigation, 18 kinds of subaerial diatoms were identified. Among them, 7 species are known for the first time to occur in Korea.

  • The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries embarked on Oct. 8, 1996, incorporating most of the previously fragmented maritime administrations into one single organization But the maritime administrative functions related to safely and security missions have not yet been merged into a synergetic whole, with versatile multi-functional systems working so effectively that better services to the public might be expected. Enhancing administrative capabilities requires that these missions be integrated into one institution and an enterprising management system be adopted to overcome bureaupathologies, such as complacency and inertness of administration.

  • TO select the most suitable crop and variety of forage for productivity at the southern part of Korea, The crops of wheat, barley and rye were grown from Oct. 1999 to June 2000. Paldanghomil variety of rye crop was shown to have the highest productivity in comparison to other varieties of crops used in this experiment. It showed relatively high plant height, number of tiller, forage yield and dry matter yield. There fore, it was concluded that Paldanghomil of rye crop was the most suitable crop with high yield in the southern part of Korea. The heritabilities of all characters were estimated to be high.

  • A series of observations of phytoplankton were made at seven station with two control stations in Inchon Dock to clarify the quantity, quality and standing crop of phytoplankton from Oct. to Nov., 1976. Thirty seven species of phytoplankton, representing 18 genera, 36 species, 1 forma were taken in this research. Chaetoceros decipiens, Rhizosolenia delicatula, Hemiaulus sinensis, Chaetoceros affinis and Skeletonema costatum were the dominant species in this area during two moths. By the ecological division, the neritic species occupied 86.5% of total phytoplankton composition. Standing crop of phytoplankton represented much variation: ranging from 263 to 1, 614, 832 cells/l. The maximum happened at station 1 on November.
