Methods : A search of Korean research database( OASIS, RISS, Korean traditional knowledge portal, NDSL) was conducted to find studies for Hwangryunhaedok-tang. We analyzed studies by publish date, speciality, study method, and field of study. Result : 1. 2.65 papers were published annually on average. 2. After analyzing for the speciality of the journal, most of the papers were published in Traditional Korean Medicine. 3. After analyzing for the study method, in vivo was 33.96%, in vitro was 32.08% and quantitative inspection was 13.21% 4. After analyzing for the subject of the studies, beneficial effect was 81.13%, quantitative and qualitative analysis was 13.21%, toxicity was 3.77% 5. Papers on beneficial effect were classified by the type of diseases. Hwangryunhaedok-tang was most used in skin disease. Conclusions : Hwangryunhaedok-tang is effective in various category of diseases. This study will be useful to future researchers and clinicians to conduct a study on Hwangryunhaedok-tang.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to survey the status of clinical use of a pulse tonometric device (PTD).Methods: We searched domestic and international articles using the PTD from online medical databases including OASIS, RISS, DBpia and PubMed. We selected articles on clinical application of PTD but excluded articles on mechanical design or software programming for developing a new PTD. Finally we found 13 articles and classified the articles according to the disease of clinical study. Results: Out of the 13 articles, 5 were focused on the dysmenorrhea. Three articles were focused on the infertility, two article were focused on the post mastectomy. According to the results, the pulse energy has been widely used in research as the primary outcome. Conclusions: We found out that until now the researches on clinical application of PTD mainly had been performed for producing a variety of PTDs. This results of this study will be used as a useful information during perform a clinical study and clinics. We suggest that the standard operating procedure for PTD will be developed, and researches for development and its application of various new contents will be performed.

  • Biodrying is a pre-treatment method that applies biological and mechanical concepts to drying solid waste. In Malaysia, municipal solid waste (MSW) is unseparated and contains a high level of moisture, making the use of technology such as solid waste burning unsuitable and harmful. MSW containing organic material can be processed naturally until the moisture content of the waste is reduced. This study on MSW biodrying was carried out on a laboratory scale to measure the percent moisture content reduction and to monitor temperature patterns under different ventilation periods. This work was conducted using five biodrying reactors volumes of 50 liters each. Reactors were ventilated for 5, 10, 15, 20 and 30 min every 3 h, with a 3 bar air supply. The duration of this process was 14 days for all samples. The results showed that the optimum ventilation time was 10 min, with an 81.84% reduction in moisture content, and that it required almost half of the electricity cost required for the 20 and 30 min ventilations.

  • Objectives : This study is designed for trend analysis of oriental medicine treatment for visual impairment. Methods : Research studies related to objectives were gathered through OASIS, KTKP, PUBMED with keywords such as "visual impairment", "myopia", "hyperopia", "presbyopia", "astigmatism" and analyzed. Results : As a result of searching domestic and overseas research on oriental medical treatment for visual impairment, 7 domestic research papers and 11 overseas research papers have been selected. Among those research papers, 15 of those are studies related to childhood or juvenile myopia. Acupuncture, ear acupuncture, herb medicine, periocular massage, eye muscle exercise and habit correction are used as treatment methods for visual impairment. 14 out of 17 research papers which mentioned treatment effect of oriental medicine reported oriental treatment of visual impairment is effective. Conclusions : Various types of oriental medical treatment could be effective in treating visual impairment. Thus, related in-depth research must be proceeded.

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study is to investigate the possibility of applying acupuncture to the treatment of meniere's disease, which has no definite treatment methods, by analyzing the latest clinical researches about acupuncture treatment of meniere's disease. Methods : A case study and Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) related to the acupuncture treatment of meniere's disease were searched using domestic and international thesis search engines including OASIS, CNKI, J-STAGE, PubMed. This study include acupuncture treatment and acupuncture combined with other treatments such as herbal medicine. The search was limitied to the publication date from 2000 to 2018 with free full text. Results : 17 cases were selected. There were 7 case studies in Korea, 5 case studies in China, and 5 RCT papers in China. All 12 cases reported improvement in meniere's disease and all RCT studies showed significantly higher treatment effects in the experimental group than in the control group. Conclusions : Acupuncture treatment showed significant effects for meniere's disease when applied alone or in combination with other treatments. In the future, various systematic studies should be conducted only for acupuncture treatment.

  • To evaluate the effects of planned visiting nursing services for homebound disabled persons in the community who have had a cerebrovascular accident Methods: One group pre-test and post-test research deign was applied to 61 disabled persons who were undergoing rehabilitation with visiting nursing services to evaluate the effects on the health status (SF-36) and activity daily living (ADL/IADL) from March to August, 2001. Results: The health status score by SF-36 of homebound disabled people was significantly improved; the average score was 28.56$\pm$21.24 before service, 34.29$\pm$22.30 at 3 months after, and 40.84$\pm$=27.41 at 6 months after. The activity daily living score by OASIS II was also significantly increased (z= -6.09, p=.000; z= -6.04, p= .000) at 3 months and 6 months after home visiting nursing services. Conclusion: The strategy plan for developing a visiting nursing service in health centers should be prepared to develop community based rehabilitation (CBR) programs as well as to improve the level of health status and ADL/IADL for homebound disabled people in the community.

  • Objectives To determine the effectiveness of Chuna manual therapy combined acupuncture for trigeminal neuralgia. Methods We searched 6 electronic databases (Pubmed, CAJ, Oasis, RISS, DBPIA, KoreanTK) and 2 journals up to August 2016. We included randomized controlled trials (RCTs) using Chuna manual therapy combined acupuncture for trigeminal neuralgia. The methodological quality of each RCT was assessed by the Cochrane risk of bias tool. Results 3 RCT studies were eligible in our review. The meta-analysis of 3 studies showed favorable results for the use of Chuna manual therapy combined acupuncture. High risk of bias were observed in all studies. Conclusions Although there are favorable results with meta-analysis, our systematic review are highly dependent on the single source of Chinese electrical database, CAJ. Now limited evidence is available to support Chuna manual therapy combined acupuncture for trigeminal neuralgia and further well-designed RCTs should be encouraged.

  • Objectives The goal for this study is to find out the recent trends of the Korean medicine treatment on children and adolescents' somatic symptom and related disorder by reviewing case studies. Methods We found case study reports relevant to 'Korean medicine treatment on somatic symptom and related disorder' through Oriental Medicine Advanced Searching Integrated System (OASIS), National Discovery for Science Leader (NDSL) and Research Information Sharing Service (RISS). The age of the patients was limited to under 20. Results All reported articles showed that the treatments were selected based on both emotional problems and physical symptoms. Herbal medicine was the most commonly used method, and the other methods including acupuncture and psychotherapy were also used. Conclusions This study shows that the common Korean medicine treatment can be widely used for children and adolescents' somatic symptom and related disorder. Further research is needed to evaluate the effectiveness of the treatments, and to develop guidelines for the treatment.
