O3/H2O2와 O3/Catalyst 고급산화공정에서 1,4-dioxane의 제거 특성 (Removal Characteristics of 1,4-dioxane with O3/H2O2 and O3/Catalyst Advanced Oxidation Process)

  • Advanced oxidation processes involving $O_3/H_2O_2$ and $O_3/catalyst$ were used to compare the degradability and the effect of pH on the oxidation of 1,4-dioxane, Oxidation processes were carried out in a bubble column reactor under different pH. Initial hydrogen peroxide concentration was 3.52 mM in $O_3/H_2O_2$ process and 115 g/L (0.65 wt.%) of activated carbon impregnated with palladium was packed in $O_3/catalyst$ column. 1,4-dioxane concentration was reduced steadily with reaction time in $O_3/H_2O_2$ oxidation process, however, in case of $O_3/catalyst$ process, about $50{\sim}75%$ of 1,4-dioxane was degraded only in 5 minutes after reaction. Overall reaction efficiency of $O_3/catalyst$ was also higher than that of $O_3/H_2O_2$ process. TOC and $COD_{cr}$ were analyzed in order to examine the oxidation characteristics with $O_3/H_2O_2\;and\;O_3/catalyst$ process. The results of $COD_{cr}$ removal efficiency and ${\Delta}TOC/{\Delta}ThOC$ ratio in $O_3/catalyst$ process gave that this process could more proceed the oxidation reaction than $O_3/H_2O_2$ oxidation process. Therefore, it was considered that $O_3/catalyst$ advanced oxidation process could be used as a effective oxidation process for removing non-degradable toxic organic materials.

코발트 청색 채색료에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Cobalt Blue Spinel Stains)

  • The cobalt blue spinel stains (main composition; CoO:$Al_2O_3$=1 : 1) in CoO-NiO-$Al_2O_$3 and $CoO-Al_2O_3-Cr_2O_3$ system were prepared by the calcination of each component oxides to be adequate for the factory. The color development, the change of the lattice constnat of the spinel and its application to colored glazes were studied. The results were summarized as follows. 1) In CoO-Al_2O_3$ spinel, the excess addition of each component hardly made any variation in lattice constantand alumina-rich spinel specimens caused the brilliant blue color fade. 2) An increase of $Ni^{2+}$ in $CoO-NiO-Al_2O_3$ system, made the lattice constnat of the $CoO-Al_2O_3$ spinel smaller, and an increase of $Cr^{3+}$ in $CoO-Al_2O_3-Cr_2O_3$, larger. 3) Glazed stains under lead glaze were colored nearly same dark blue color fade.

  • Effects of MnO2 addition on themicrostructure, dielectric and piezoelectric properties of Rhombohedral, Tetragonal and Morphotropic phase boundary(MPB) in Pb(Ni1/3Nb2/3)O3-PbTiO3-PbZrO3 system were investigated and respectively the amount of MnO2 addition was 0, 0.2, 0.5, 1.0, 3.0wt%. In the tetragonal region, compared with the Rhombohedral and Morpotropic phase boundary, Mechanical quality factor(Qm), Curie temperature(Tc) and Dissipation factor were promoted by addition of MnO2. According to the results of the microstructure, dielectric and piezoelectric properties, the solid solution range of MnO2 addition in this system was 0.2-0.5wt%.

  • Microstructure and phase changes during the sintering of ZnO varistors were studied in ZnO-Bi2O3-CoO-Sb2O3 and ZnO-Bi2O3-CoO-Sb2O3-Cr2O3 systems using acanning electron microscopy (SEM) with an energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDAX), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and differential thermal analysis (DTA). The spinel phase and the Bi2O3 phase were formed by the decomposition of the pyrochlore phase during heating. The spinel particles (2-4$\mu\textrm{m}$), which were formed both along ther grain boundaries and within the ZnO grain, were always found near the pyrochlore phase. Intergranular phases (Bi2O3 and pyrochlore) were precipitated from the liquid phase during cooling. The Bi2O3 phases were located at the triple (or multiple) point of the ZnO grains. Cr2O3 played a role in decreasing the formation temperature of the spinel phase and Bi2O3 phase during sintering, and inhibited the grain growth.

  • 구조의 유기-무기 혼성화합물 Cu2(OH)3(CH3COO)·H2O를 선구물질로 사용하여 Cu2O를 합성하였다. 75oC의 수용액에서 Cu2(OH)3(CH3COO)·H2O를 글루코오스로 환원시켜서 정육면체 Cu2O를 합성하였다. 선구물질과 글루코오스의 효과를 조사하였다. Cu2(OH)3(CH3COO)·H2O의 구조는 균일한 크기의 Cu2O를 만드는데 중요한 역할을 한다.

  • Thin films of $Bi_4Ti_3O_{12}\;nBaTiO_3(n=1&2)$ were prepared using sols erived Ba-Bi-Ti complex alkoxides. The sols were spin-cast onto $Pt/Ti/SiO_2/Si$ substrates and followed by pyrolysis for 1 hr at $620^{\circ}C,\;700^{\circ}C\;and\;750^{\circ}C$ In the thin films a pyrochlore phase seemed to be formed at a lower temperature and then tran-formed to the layered perovskite phase as the heating temperature increased. In the thin films pyrolyzed at formed to the layered perovskte phase as the heating temperature increased. In the films pyrolyzed at $750^{\circ}C$ the amount of $Bi_4Ti_3O_{12}{\cdot}BaTiO_3$ reached to 94% while $Bi_4Ti_3O_{12}{\cdot}BaTiO_3$ was 77% in composition. This result shows that the formation of the layered pervoskite phase becomes difficult as the amount of complexing $BaTiO_3$ increases. The microstructures and the electrical properties of the thin films were gen-erally improved with the incease of the heating temperature. However the presence of the pyrochlore phase could not be removed effectively. Our study showed that the electrical properties of $Bi_4Ti_3O_{12}{\cdot}BaTiO_3$ were pronouncedly improved with complexing with BaTiO3 when compared to those of $Bi_4Ti_3O_{12}$ while the presence of the pyrochlore phase was detrimental to the those of $Bi_4Ti_3O_{12}{\cdot}2BaTiO_3$.

  • CO2 감지용 La2O3-SnO2 계 후막형 소자를 제조하여 CO2가스에 대한 기초 감지 특성을 조사하였고, 감지 분말의 입자크기와 제조방법에 따른 감도 변화를 고찰하였다. 후막 소자는 40$0^{\circ}C$의 작동온도와 4wt.%의 La2O3가 첨가되 srjt에서 가장 좋은 감도를 나타내었고, 낮은 습도영역에서 우수한 감지 특성을 보였다. 분말 혼합법에 의해 제조된 소자에 있어서 La2O3와SnO2 분말의 입자가 미세할수록 우수한 감도를 나타내었고, La2O3의 입도가 SnO2의 입도 보다 감도에 더 큰 영향을 주었다. SnO2 후막 표면에 La 용액을 코팅하여 제조된 센서는 가장 우수한 CO2 감도특성을 보였다.

다양한 씨앗의 발아 및 발아지수에 근거한 나노입자 생물학적 독성평가 (Bioassessment of Nanoparticle Toxicity based on Seed Germination and Germination Index of Various Seeds)

  • 본 연구에서는 다섯 종의 씨앗(춘채, 아욱, 양배추, 배추, 당근)을 이용하여 금속산화물 나노입자(CuO, NiO, Fe2O3, Co3O4, TiO2, ZnO)들이 씨앗발아와 발아지수에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. CuO, ZnO, NiO 나노입자는 씨앗 활성에 뚜렷한 독성 영향을 나타내었으며, 나노입자종류에 따라 상이한 민감도를 나타내었다. 각 나노입자에 대한 독성순서(EC50 범위)는 다음과 같다: CuO 6~27 mg/L > ZnO 16~86 mg/L > NiO 48~112 mg/L. 나머지 조사 대상 나노입자인 Co3O4, TiO2, Fe2O3은 최대 1,000 mg/L 높은 농도 노출에도 뚜렷한 영향을 나타내지 않았다. 씨앗별 상이한 민감도를 나타내었으며, 가장 민감한 종인 아욱의 씨앗발아 EC50은 CuO 5.5 mg/L ZnO 16.4 mg/L, NiO 53.4 mg/L로 조사되었다. 씨앗별 나노입자에 대한 독성 영향은 CuO > ZnO > NiO > Fe2O3 ≈ Co3O4 ≈ TiO2 나타났으나, 당근씨앗은 NiO [EC50 80.4(71.41~90.54) mg/L]와 ZnO [EC50 85.8(69.31~106.29) mg/L]가 유사한 독성을 나타내었다.

  • Yttria-bismuth-stabilized zirconia was investigated with respect to the amount of $Bi_2O_3$ addition in the ran-ge of 0.5~5mol% to the base composition of $(ZrO_2)_{0.92}(Y_2O_3)_{0.08}.Bismuth was introduced into the ma-terial with $Bi_2O_3-SiO_2$ glasses in order to reduce the evaporation of components. The sinterbility evaporation of components phase formation and microstructure were evaluated depending on the amount of $Bi_2O_3-SiO_2$ glass addition. Two probe A. C conductivity measurement was subjected to all the specimens and the result was discussed on the possible substitution of $Bi^{3+}$ for $Zr^{4+}$ and interistial $Si^{4+}$ in the fluorite structure of zirconia crystal there-upon the possible change in the capability of oxygen transference within the material. It was found that the addition of $Bi_2O_3$ could improve the sinterbility of material very much while not so much.oxygen sensing material suitable for relative low temperature firing.

Effects of Additives on the Properties of $YBa_2Cu_3O_x$

  • The superconducting properties of $YBa_2Cu_3O_x$ with different content impurities of PbO and $BaPbO_3$ were studied. When the PbO was used as an additive in $YBa_2Cu_3O_x$, although the melting point could be reduced, the superconductivity became poor. From the XRD pattern of the sintered mixture of $YBa_2Cu_3O_x$ and PbO it was known that there is a reaction between $YBa_2Cu_3O_x$ and PbO, and the product is $BaPbO_3$. In the process of the reaction the superconducting phase of $YBa_2Cu_3O_x$ was decreased and $BaPbO_3$ would be the main phase in the sample. Therefore, $BaPbO_3$ was chosen as the impurity additive for the comparative study. The single phase of $BaPbO_3$ was synthesized by the simple way from both mixtures of $BaCO_3$ and PbO, $BaCO_3$ and $PbO_2$. Different contents of $BaPbO_3$ (10%, 20%, 30%) were added in the $YBa_2Cu_3O_x$. By the Phase analysis in the XRD patterns it was proved that there was no reaction between $YBa_2Cu_3O_x$ and $BaPbO_3$. When $BaPbO_3$ was used as impurity in $YBa_2Cu_3O_x$ the superconductivity was much better than PbO as an impurity additive in $YBa_2Cu_3O_x$.
