Material Selection Optimization of A-Pillar and Package Tray Using RBFr Metamodel for Minimizing Weight (경량화를 위한 RBFr 메타모델 기반 A-필러와 패키지 트레이의 소재 선정 최적화)

  • In this study, we propose the method of optimally selecting material of front pillar (A-pillar) and package tray for minimizing weight while satisfying vehicle requirements on static stiffness and dynamic stiffness. First, we formulate a material selection optimization problem. Next, we establish the CAE procedure of evaluating static stiffness and dynamic stiffness. Then, to enhance the efficiency of design work, we integrate and automate the established CAE procedure using a commercial process integration and design optimization (PIDO) tool, PIAnO. For effective optimization, we adopt the approach of metamodel based approximate optimization. As a sampling method, an orthogonal array (OA) is used for selecting sampling points. The response values are evaluated at the sampling points and then these response values are used to generate a metamodel of each response using the radial basis function regression (RBFr). Using the RBFr models, optimization is carried out an evolutionary algorithm that can handle discrete design variables. Material optimization result reveals that the weight is reduced by 49.8% while satisfying all the design constraints.

  • This paper presents a digital controller of the electronic ballast using high frequency modulation method for the metal halide lamp. The proposed controller includes the control algorithm for soft starting, no load protection, over current protection and power control. The proposed digital controller, moreover, has the high frequency modulation scheme and the tracking algorithm to avoid acoustic resonance phenomena. For the math production with the low cost using the ASICs (Application Specific Integrated Circuit), the proposed digital controller has been designed with the FPGAs(Field Programmable Gate array) only, without any microprocessor. In this paper, the detail digital control algorithms are described and the experimental results of prototype 150w metal halide electronic ballast are presented.

3-Dimensional Path Planning and Guidance using the Dubins Curve for an 3-DOF Point-mass Aircraft Model (Dubins 곡선을 이용한 항공기 3자유도 질점 모델의 3차원 경로계획 및 유도)

  • In this paper, we integrate three degree of freedom(3DOF) point-mass model for aircraft and three-dimensional path generation algorithms using dubins curve and nonlinear path tracking law. Through this integration, we apply the path generation algorithm to the path planning, and verify tracking performance and feasibility of using the aircraft 3DOF point-mass model for air traffic management. The accuracy of modeling 6DOF aircraft is more accurate than that of 3DOF model, but the complexity of the calculation would be raised, in turn the rate of computation is more likely to be slow due to the increase of degree of freedom. These obstacles make the 6DOF model difficult to be applied to simulation requiring real-time path planning. Therefore, the 3DOF point-mass model is also sufficient for simulation, and real-time path planning is possible because complexity can be reduced, compared to those of the 6DOF. Dubins curve used for generating the optimal path has advantage of being directly available to apply path planning. However, we use the algorithm which extends 2D path to 3D path since dubins curve handles the two dimensional path problems. Control law for the path tracking uses the nonlinear path tracking laws. Then we present these concomitant simulation results.

A Study on Salt & Pepper Noise Removal using the Pixel Distribution of Local Mask (국부 마스크의 화소 분포를 이용한 Salt & Pepper 잡음 제거에 관한 연구)

  • Due to the recent progress in information technology, demand for video imaging devices such as displays has grown. In general, images experience deterioration during the process of transmission due to various reasons. Many studies have boon undertaken on ways o reduce such noise. This paper6 suggests an algorithm that makes a judgment on the noise in order to remove the salt & pepper noise and replaces original pixels if they are non-noise while processing noise according to its density. The suggested algorithm shows a high PSNR of 30.49[dB] for Goldhill images that had been damaged of a high density salt & pepper noise(P = 60%), Compared to the exising CWMF, SWMF, and A-TMF, there were improvements by 17.74[dB], 11.52[dB], and 13.76[dB], respectively.

  • This paper represents a new approach for the protective relay of power transmission lines using a Artificial Neural Network(ANN). A different fault m transmission lines need to be detected classified and located accurately and cleared as fast as possible. However, The protection range of the distance relay is always designed on the basis of fixed settings, and unfortunately these approach do not have the ability to adapt dynamically to the system operating condition. ANN is suitable for the adaptive relaying and the detection of complex faults. The backpropagation algerian based multi-layer protection is utilized for the teaming process. It allows to make control to various protection functions. As expected, the simulation result demonstrate that this approach is useful and satisfactory.

Numerical Investigation of Dual Mode Ramjet Combustor Using Quasi 1-Dimensional Solver (근사 1차원 솔버를 이용한 이중모드 램제트 연소실 해석)

  • In this work, a one-dimensional combustor solver was constructed for the scramjet control m odel. The governing equations for fluid flow, Arrhenius based combustion kinetics, and the inje ction model were implemented into the solver. In order to validate the solver, the zero-dimensi onal ignition delay problem and one-dimensional scramjet combustion problem were considered and showed that the solver successfully reproduced the results from the literature. Subsequentl y, a ramjet analysis algorithm under subsonic speed conditions was constructed, and a study o n the inlet Mach number of the combustor was carried out through the thermal choking locatio ns at ram conditions. In such conditions, a model for precombustion shock train analysis was i mplemented, and the algorithm for transition section analysis was introduced. In addition, in or der to determine the appropriateness of the ram mode analysis in the code, the occurrence of a n unstart was studied through the length of the pseudo-shock in the isolator. A performance a nalysis study was carried out according to the geometry of the combustor.

A Study on the Coordinated Traffic Responsive Ramp Metering Control considering Spatial Equity (공간적 형평성을 고려한 통합 감응 램프미터링 제어 연구 -고속도로 진입로 중심으로-)

  • Ramp metering is a traffic management technique that reduces the congestion of Expressway by controlling vehicles entering the highway. It is widely used outside the country, and Korea is also operating in seven sites (Seoul Ring Expressway). Ramp metering has the advantage of reducing congestion of Expressway, but there are disadvantages, as queuing occurs because vehicles are waiting for ramp, and the ramp queue affects adjacent roads at rush hour. To solve this problem, we improved the ramp metering algorithm to reduce the metering rate more spaces on ramp and to increase the metering rate less spaces. In order to evaluate this, the combined evaluation index was used and it was found that the result satisfied the equity and efficiency at the same time.

  • In this paper, We focused the issue of creating a socially problematic nurse schedule. The nurse schedule should be prepared in consideration of three shifts, appropriate placement of experienced workers, the fairness of work assignment, and legal work standards. Because of the complex structure of the nurse schedule, which must reflect various requirements, in most hospitals, the nurse in charge writes it by hand with a lot of time and effort. This study attempted to automatically create an optimized nurse schedule based on legal labor standards and fairness. We developed an I/O Q-Learning algorithm-based model based on Python and Web Application for automatic nurse schedule. The model was trained to converge to 100 by creating an Fairness Indicator Score(FIS) that considers Labor Standards Act, Work equity, Work preference. Manual nurse schedules and this model are compared with FIS. This model showed a higher work equity index of 13.31 points, work preference index of 1.52 points, and FIS of 16.38 points. This study was able to automatically generate nurse schedule based on reinforcement Learning. In addition, as a result of creating the nurse schedule of E hospital using this model, it was possible to reduce the time required from 88 hours to 3 hours. If additional supplementation of FIS and reinforcement Learning techniques such as DQN, CNN, Monte Carlo Simulation and AlphaZero additionally utilize a more an optimized model can be developed.

Development of 2.5D Electron Dose Calculation Algorithm (2.5D 전자선 선량계산 알고리즘 개발)

  • In this paper, as a preliminary study for developing a full 3D electron dose calculation algorithm, We developed 2.5D electron dose calculation algorithm by extending 2D pencil-beam model to consider three dimensional geometry such as air-gap and obliquity appropriately. The dose calculation algorithm was implemented using the IDL5.2(Research Systems Inc., USA), For calculation of the Hogstrom's pencil-beam algorithm, the measured data of the central-axis depth-dose for 12 MeV(Siemens M6740) and the linear stopping power and the linear scattering power of water and air from ICRU report 35 was used. To evaluate the accuracy of the implemented program, we compared the calculated dose distribution with the film measurements in the three situations; the normal incident beam, the 45$^{\circ}$ oblique incident beam, and the beam incident on the pit-shaped phantom. As results, about 120 seconds had been required on the PC (Pentium III 450MHz) to calculate dose distribution of a single beam. It needs some optimizing methods to speed up the dose calculation. For the accuracy of dose calculation, in the case of the normal incident beam of the regular and irregular shaped field, at the rapid dose gradient region of penumbra, the errors were within $\pm$3 mm and the dose profiles were agreed within 5%. However, the discrepancy between the calculation and the measurement were about 10% for the oblique incident beam and the beam incident on the pit-shaped phantom. In conclusions, we expended 2D pencil-beam algorithm to take into account the three dimensional geometry of the patient. And also, as well as the dose calculation of irregular field, the irregular shaped body contour and the air-gap could be considered appropriately in the implemented program. In the near future, the more accurate algorithm will be implemented considering inhomogeneity correction using CT, and at that time, the program can be used as a tool for educational and research purpose. Effect of Inhomogeneity correction for lung volume model in TPS (Lnug Volume을 모델로 한 방사선치료계획 시 불균질 조직 보정에 따른 효과)

  • Introduction : The phantom that includes high density materials such as steel was custom-made to fix lung and bone in order to evaluation inhomogeneity correction at the time of conducting radiation therapy to treat lung cancer. Using this, values resulting from the inhomogeneous correction algorithm are compared on the 2 and 3 dimensional radiation therapy planning systems. Moreover, change in dose calculation was evaluated according to inhomogeneous by comparing with the actual measurement. Materials and Methods : As for the image acquisition, inhomogeneous correction phantom(Pig's vertebra, steel(8.21g/cm3), cork(0.23 g/cm3)) that was custom-made and the CT(Volume zoom, Siemens, Germany) were used. As for the radiation therapy planning system, Marks Plan(2D) and XiO(CMS, USA, 3D) were used. To compare with the measurement value, linear accelerator(CL/1800, Varian, USA) and ion chamber were used. Image, obtained from the CT was used to obtain point dose and dose distribution from the region of interest (ROI) while on the radiation therapy planning device. After measurement was conducted under the same conditions, value on the treatment planning device and measured value were subjected to comparison and analysis. And difference between the resulting for the evaluation on the use (or non-use) of inhomogeneity correction algorithm, and diverse inhomogeneity correction algorithm that is included in the radiation therapy planning device was compared as well. Results : As result of comparing the results of measurement value on the region of interest within the inhomogeneity correction phantom and the value that resulted from the homogeneous and inhomogeneous correction, gained from the therapy planning device, margin of error of the measurement value and inhomogeneous correction value at the location 1 of the lung showed $0.8\%$ on 2D and $0.5\%$ on 3D. Margin of error of the measurement value and inhomogeneous correction value at the location 1 of the steel showed $12\%$ on 2D and $5\%$ on 3D, however, it is possible to see that the value that is not correction and the margin of error of the measurement value stand at $16\%$ and $14\%$, respectively. Moreover, values of the 3D showed lower margin of error compared to 2D. Conclusion : Revision according to the density of tissue must be executed during radiation therapy planning. To ensure a more accurate planning, use of 3D planning system is recommended more so than the 2D Planning system to ensure a more accurate revision on the therapy plan. Moreover, 3D Planning system needs to select and use the most accurate and appropriate inhomogeneous correction algorithm through actual measurement. In addition, comparison and analysis through TLD or film dosimetry are needed.
