Precise Point Positioning (PPP) is an increasingly recognized precisely the GPS/GNSS positioning technique. In order to improve the accuracy of PPP, the error sources in PPP measurements should be reduced as much as possible and the ambiguities should be correctly resolved. The correct ambiguity resolution requires a careful control of residual errors that are normally categorized into random and systematic errors. To understand effects from two categorized errors on the PPP ambiguity resolution, those two GPS datasets are simulated by generating in locations in South Korea (denoted as SUWN) and Hong Kong (PolyU). Both simulation cases are studied for each dataset; the first case is that all the satellites are affected by systematic and random errors, and the second case is that only a few satellites are affected. In the first case with random errors only, when the magnitude of random errors is increased, L1 ambiguities have a much higher chance to be incorrectly fixed. However, the size of ambiguity error is not exactly proportional to the magnitude of random error. Satellite geometry has more impacts on the L1 ambiguity resolution than the magnitude of random errors. In the first case when all the satellites have both random and systematic errors, the accuracy of fixed ambiguities is considerably affected by the systematic error. A pseudorange systematic error of 5 cm is the much more detrimental to ambiguity resolutions than carrier phase systematic error of 2 mm. In the $2^{nd}$ case when only a portion of satellites have systematic and random errors, the L1 ambiguity resolution in PPP can be still corrected. The number of allowable satellites varies from stations to stations, depending on the geometry of satellites. Through extensive simulation tests under different schemes, this paper sheds light on how the PPP ambiguity resolution (more precisely L1 ambiguity resolution) is affected by the characteristics of the residual errors in PPP observations. The numerical examples recall the PPP data analysts that how accurate the error correction models must achieve in order to get all the ambiguities resolved correctly.

In the present study, the wave hindcasting has been performed, and then the characteristics of storm waves at Gangnueng port was investigated, in which the high waves are observed. Comparing the numerical results with the wave measurements at Gangneung port, Niigata, and Hamada, there were good agreements between them. In particular, the Pearson correlation coefficients of significant wave heights and peak periods at Gangneung port were 0.92 and 0.72, respectively. Then the extreme wave analysis on the significant wave heights was carried out for the estimation of the frequency of storm waves. In this analysis, the storm waves over the threshold were fitted to GPD(Generalized Pareto Distribution). According to this analysis, the return period of the storm wave on February, 24, 2008, one of the large storm waves at Gangneung port, was 8.2 months. Among the computed significant wave heights larger than one-year wave, 58.3% of them were resulted from the storm, while the others were from the typhoon. Additionally, the regression analysis on the waves larger than one-month wave has been conducted, and then the relationship between the computed significant wave heights and the significant wave period, $T_{1/3}=7H_s^{0.25}$ was obtained.

Since the construction of Pohang New Port, the problems of the low harbor tranquility caused by decreasing port operation rate has been continuously reported. In order to improve the harbor tranquility, a detached breakwater (DB) has been constructed outside the outer breakwater of Pohang New Port in 2018~2020. In this study, the effectiveness of the DB was proved by comparing the reduction rates of wave heights that were observed before and after the construction of the DB. First, the observed data were compared with the numerical model results available from a previous study, and the model data showed reasonable agreement with measured data at 3 out of 4 locations inside the port. The discrepancy in one of the locations was because the model could not accurately calculated the effect of wave interference in the inner corner of the port. The observation data showed excellent results that the number of waves that exceeded 0.3 m, the critical value to reach desired harbor tranquility, was significantly reduced after the construction of the DB. In addition, the reduction rate, the ratio of wave heights between outside and inside of the port, was decreased after the DB construction, which proved that properly designed coastal structures such as DB in this study could be effective in improving the port tranquility. The results of this study can be usefully applied for solving problems in similar cases.

In Extracting the dynamic parameters for estimating the load carrying capacity and integrity of bridges, both the instrumentation and the processing the data plays important role . When the fixed point can not be secured, it is difficult and expensive to measure dynamic displacements. Even if the displacement is obtained through the integration of the acceleration data, the results can be quite different from the real behavior, because the main frequency contents can be leaked during discretized data processing. The instrumentation is used for measurements, and every measurement involves error and uncertainty, such as systematic, conformance, environmental, observational, sampling, and ranmom error. Systematic and conformance error can be remedied through the proper sellection and installation of the instruments, but sampling and random errors could not have been corrected properly and it becomes the limitation for using acceleration data. In this paper, the errors which can be occurred in numerical processing of dynamic data are referred, and the method to sellect proper sampling rate for the structural frequency range are proposed. Using the proposed method, the displacement response of the structures can be economically obtained from the measured acceleration record, and this procedure can be used properly to estimate the integrity of the bridges and infrastructures subjected to dynamic loads.

Since Diffusion tensor from Diffusion Tensor Magnetic Resonance Imaging(DT-MRI) is so sensitive to noise, the principle eigenvector(PEV) calculated from Diffusion tensor could be erroneous. Tractography obtained from PEV could be deviated from the real fiber tract. Therefore regularization process is needed to eliminate noise. In this paper, to reduce noise in DT-MRI measurements, the Dyadic Sorting(DS) method as regularization of the eigenvalue and the eigenvector is applied in the tractography. To resort the eigenvalues and the eignevectors, the DS method uses the intervoxel overlap function which can measure the overlap between eigenvalue-eigenvector pairs in the $3\times3$ pixel. In this paper, we applied the DS method to the three-dimensional volume. We discuss the error analysis and numerical study to the synthetic and the experimental data. As a result, we have shown that the DS method is more efficient than the median filtering methods as much as 79.97%~83.64%, 85.62%~87.76% in AAE, AFA respectively for the corticospinal tract of the experimental data.
Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) has several advantages over conventional remote sensing techniques. They can acquire high-resolution images quickly and repeatedly. And with a comparatively lower flight altitude, they can obtain good quality images even in cloudy weather. In this paper, we developed for estimating garlic growth at field scale model in major cultivation regions. We used the $NDVI_{UAV}$ that reflects the crop conditions, and seven meteorological elements for 3 major cultivation regions from 2015 to 2017. For this study, UAV imagery was taken at Taean, Changnyeong, and Hapcheon regions nine times from early February to late June during the garlic growing season. Four plant growth parameters, plant height (P.H.), leaf number (L.N.), plant diameter (P.D.), and fresh weight (F.W.) were measured for twenty plants per plot for each field campaign. The multiple linear regression models were suggested by using backward elimination and stepwise selection in the extraction of independent variables. As a result, model of cold type explain 82.1%, 65.9%, 64.5%, and 61.7% of the P.H., F.W., L.N., P.D. with a root mean square error (RMSE) of 7.98 cm, 5.91 g, 1.05, and 3.43 cm. Especially, model of warm type explain 92.9%, 88.6%, 62.8%, 54.6% of the P.H., P.D., L.N., F.W. with a root mean square error (RMSE) of 16.41 cm, 9.08 cm, 1.12, 19.51 g. The spatial distribution map of garlic growth was in strong agreement with the field measurements in terms of field variation and relative numerical values when $NDVI_{UAV}$ was applied to multiple linear regression models. These results will also be useful for determining the UAV multi-spectral imagery necessary to estimate growth parameters of garlic.
Italian ryegrass (IRG) is one of the fastest growing grasses available to farmers. It offers rapid establishment and starts growing early in the following spring and has fast regrowth after defoliation. So, IRG can be utilized as the dominant/single species of grass used in a farming system, or to play a role as a large producing pasture and sacrificial paddock. The objective of this study was to develop the use of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) for the evaluation of feed value of IRG. For this study, UAV imagery was taken on the Nonsan regions two times during the IRG growing season. We analyzed the relationships between $NDVI_{UAV}$ and feed value parameters such as fresh matter yield, dry matter yield, acid detergent fiber (ADF), neutral detergent fiber (NDF), total digestible nutrient (TDN) and crude protein at the season of harvest. Correlation analysis between $NDVI_{UAV}$ and feed value parameters of IRG revealed that $NDVI_{UAV}$ correlated well with crude protein (r = 0.745), and fresh matter yield (r = 0.655). According to the relationship, the variation of $NDVI_{UAV}$ was significant to interpret feed value parameters of IRG. Eight different regression models such as Linear, Logarithmic, Inverse, Quadratic, Cubic, Power, S, and Exponential model were used to estimate IRG feed value parameters. The S and exponential model provided more accurate results to predict fresh matter yield and crude protein than other models based on coefficient of determination, p- and F-value. The spatial distribution map of feed values in IRG plot was in strong agreement with the field measurements in terms of geographical variation and relative numerical values when $NDVI_{UAV}$ was applied to regression equation. These lead to the result that the characteristics of variations in feed value of IRG according to $NDVI_{UAV}$ were well reflected in the model.

In order to investigate the formation of a shallow water front and its relation to water quality distributions, oceanographic measurements were made, and the numerical computations of the Simpson-Hunter stratification parameter log(H/U$^3$) were performed. It is shown from satellite image and hydrographic data that the shallow water front is formed near the northern Kaduk channel, and the stratification parameter log(H/U$^3$) near the front is in a range of 2.0-2.5. Measured COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) concentrations in offshore region of the front and in the western part of the bay are below 2.0 mg/1. whereas the concentrations in Masan Bay located in the northern inside of the frontal zone are high as 3.0-5.5 mg/1. COD concentrations decrease gradually from Masan Bay toward the offshore due to the dilution by strong water mixing. Anoxic and hypoxic water masses at the bottom layer in summcr occur in the western part of Chinhae Bay and in Masan Bay, and DO (Dissolved Oxygen) concentrations become low with increasing the stratification parameter. DO concentrations outside the front are more than about 4.0 mg/1, whereas the concentrations inside the front are low. The shallow water front plays a significant role for material transport from coastal area to oceanic area, and the frontal region seems to be important physical and chemical boundaries.

The effect of the migration of nanoparticles near the wall of a channel on the convective heat transfer in a laminar flow of $SiO_2$ nanoparticle suspensions (nanofluids) under constant wall heat flux boundary conditions was numerically and experimentally investigated in this study. The dynamic thermal conductivity of the aqueous $SiO_2$ nanofluids was measured using T-type thermocouples attached to the outer surface of a stainless steel circular tube (with a length of 1 m and diameter of 1.75 mm). The nanofluids used in this study were synthesized by dispersing $SiO_2$ spherical nanoparticles with a diameter of 24 nm in de-ionized water (DIW). The enhancement of the thermal conductivity of the nanofluids (e.g., an increase of up to 7.9 %) was demonstrated by comparing the temperature profiles in the flow of the nanofluids with that in the flow of the basefluids (i.e., DIW). However, this trend was not demonstrated in the computational analysis, because the numerical models were based on continuum assumptions and flow features involving nanoparticles in a stable colloidal solution. Thus, to explore the non-continuum effects, such as the modification of the morphology caused by nanoparticle-wall interactions on the heat exchanging surfaces (e.g., the isolated and dispersed precipitation of the nanoparticles), additional experiments were performed using DIW right after the measurements using the nanofluids.
After the study of Fujishima Gaijiro(1930), although it is common to see that the Tang-ruler(唐尺) was used in the construction of the Silla Sacheonwangsa temple(679), the basis of the discrimination of the construction measure and the detection of the unit length is not actually sufficient since conventional research was done before the excavation. The study was based on archaeological results, which was secured through the excavation research(2006~2012) of the temple site in recent years, to determine the construction measure and try to detect the unit length. In the analysis of the measured value of the ruins, the numerical data were obtained through measurements on drawings of the ruins, the tendency of conversion measure's number appearing by dividing each unit length of the Goguryeo-ruler(高句麗尺) and Tang-ruler within a certain range was compared from the Wansu-je(完數制) viewpoint. The research results are summarized as follows : 1)As a result of the analysis of the distance between the site's center, the case that conversion Cheok's(尺) number is converged to the unit of Jang(丈) within the range of unit length expresses three times more in Tang-ruler, and it is confirmed that a simple multiple relationship based on the unit of Jang is established between conversion Cheok's number. 2)As a result of analysis of Bokan(梁間) of the each Corridor site and the measured value of the stonework ruins, it could be confirmed that appears overwhelmingly in the Tang-ruler when conversion Cheok's number becomes an integer within the range of unit length. The results of the analysis are judged to be a clear basis for viewing the Tang-ruler as the construction measure of the Sacheonwangsa temple. 3)The estimated unit lengths of the construction measure that were obtained from the analysis of the distance between the site'scenter, the foundation stone center distance of the building site and the measured value of the stonework ruins are slightly different. There is a limit to the verification of the construction error about this, however it is difficult to specify, it is mentioned 294.37mm which is obtained from the analysis of the distance between the site's center.
