Adaptive Parallel Decomposition for Multidisciplinary Design

  • The conceptual design of a rotorcraft system involves many different analysis disciplines. The decomposition of such a system into several subsystems can make analysis and design more efficient in terms of the total computation time. Adaptive parallel decomposition makes the structure of the overall design problem suitable to apply the multidisciplinary design optimization methodologies and it can exploit parallel computing. This study proposes a decomposition method which adaptively determines the number and sequence of analyses in each sub-problem corresponding to the available number of processors in parallel. A rotorcraft design problem is solved and as a result, the adaptive parallel decomposition method shows better performance than other previous methods for the selected design problem.

The Actual State of Organic Products Marketing in Japan (일본의 유기농산물 유통실태)

  • Recently. together with consumers' increasing concerns on food safety and environmental issues. there is increasing demand on the environmentally friendly agricultural products such as organic products. At present, Japan. as a biggest net importing country of the agricultural products. is a market of the international-scale in the organic product marketing. Also. it is expected that the possibility of market expansion in the future is very high. According to the 2000 agricultural census in Japan. the number of the environment-friendly agricultural farmers were 501.556 householders. This number is about 145 percent higher than that of the 1996 results of 204,600 householders. Organic products in Japan were mainly marketed through the producer and consumer cooperation, producers' cooperation, specialized marketing company etc. However, along with the department store, big supermarket and others' participation in the market recently, the marketing channels are diversified. As of October 1999, market sales of the organic products were estimated about 350 billion yen. It is expected that organic certification system, organic products import, resturant industry scale and others will be more influential factors on the market expansion of the organic products in the future.

  • Most previous studies on improving the effectiveness of CBR have focused on the similarity function aspect or optimization of case features and their weights. However, according to some of the prior research, finding the optimal k parameter for the k-nearest neighbor (k-NN) is also crucial for improving the performance of the CBR system. Nonetheless, there have been few attempts to optimize the number of neighbors, especially using artificial intelligence (AI) techniques. In this study, we introduce a genetic algorithm (GA) to optimize the number of neighbors that combine, as well as the weight of each feature. The new model is applied to the real-world case of a major telecommunication company in Korea in order to build the prediction model for the customer profitability level. Experimental results show that our GA-optimized CBR approach outperforms other AI techniques for this mulriclass classification problem.

  • An employee employment of Enterprise must consider efficiency, balance attribute and effectiveness as important variable. but Our country's Enterprise reduce the personnel without basic guide line about employee employment. because Our country's Enterprise thinks of personnel expenses or sales amount decrease as important variable. Therefore, Research background sets out that there is no basic guideline for employment management one of the most important elements in Enterprise administration. and I examined employment control's concept and concept about softness of labor market in theoretical background setting. Also, was abreast of employment control effect, case study and literature research about employment control's basis. Finally, In fluctuation change of Enterprise's employee number, I examined which relation is formed in comparison with sales amount, net profit and the employee number of individual Enterprise using investment analysis material of Stock Company focused on Enterprise that stock is listed on the stock exchange.

  • The competitiveness of the manufacturing company is evaluated in terms of line productivity, quality cost, inventory level, logistics efficiency, and so on. The productivity is defined by the number of products divided by the number of workers within the given operation time. Increasing the productivity is not easy to man-operated situation in the line, since it heavily depends on the standard time of the workers. This paper deals with the productivity of the Back Light Unit assembler for TFT-LCD, and proposes the methodology of investigating the optimal process by simulation of Arena.

  • An electric power efficiency of electrodeless fluorescent lamp depens on a big relative property of gas, gas pressure, lamp formation, ingredients of magnetic substance and shape and action frequency etc. in lamp. We used magnetic substance that opens self-examination material of electrodeless fluorescent lamp antenna. We used Mn-Zn type as the Ferrite. We have examined resistance, impedance and Q-factor's frequency characteristic by ferrite. Coil turns were changed from 13 to 15 turns to recognize brightness change of lamp by winding number. Optical equipment (LS-100) was used to measure brightness. We could know Q-factor's difference according to material is important part of antenna design. When an electrodeless fluorescent lamp was made using T company's PE22, it showed the highest brightness. As number of winding is increased the brightness increased, and starting characteristic became good.

  • The purpose of this study is to gain a better understanding of the relationships between job satisfaction and organizational commitment of employees at the Chinese employees in Korean company. This study also focuses on revealing homogeneous demographic characteristics these employees exhibit that affect their satisfaction level. This paper analyzes the job satisfaction and turnover intention of the Chinese employees in Korean Businesses based on a great deal of questionnaire research. The research found that individual's characteristics, such as gender, age, education and marital status, as well as duty variables like salary, position, length of service, number of turnover times, probability and number of promotion, made influence on the employees about their job satisfaction and turnover tendency. The result of this research is helpful in studying how to improve the Chinese employees' job satisfaction and impair their turnover intention in Korean businesses.

  • The authors used association rules and patterns in sequential of data mining in order to raise the efficiency of engineering changes. The association rule can reduce the number of engineering changes since it can estimate the parts to be changed. The patterns in sequential can perform engineering changes effectively by estimating the parts to be changed from sequence estimation. According to this result, unnecessary engineering changes are eliminated and the number of engineering changes decrease. This method can be used for improving design quality and productivity in company managing engineering changes and related information.
