A typical standard of vehicular ad hoc networks, WAVE which consists of IEEE 1609.x Family standards and IEEE 802.11p standard, includes the multi-channel coordination and channel synchronization function to provide safety services or public services during a car is driven. Generally, the performance of data communication and networking technologies is evaluated by using simulation tools, such as ns-2, OPNET, OPNET++, etc. However, these tools doesn't provide the operations of WAVE protocol. Therefore, in this paper, we implement and verify WAVE simulation program based on ns-2.
The effects of surface treatment method of unreacted N-[3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl]ethylenediamine (2NS), $N^1$-(3-trimethoxysilylpropyl)diethylenetriamine (3NS), and 3-cyanopropyltriethoxysilane (1NCy) after grafting on the surface of silica and of the surface treatment temperature on ethylene polymerization were investigated. The Zr content of supported catalyst employing filtering method was higher than that of washing method, and the activities of supported catalysts prepared by washing method were higher than those of filtering methods significantly. Regardless of surface treatment methods the activities were in order by $SiO_2/2NS/(n-BuCp)_2ZrCl_2>SiO_2/1NCy/(n-BuCp)_2ZrCl_2>SiO_2/3NS/(n-BuCp)_2ZrCl_2$. The ethylene polymerization activity was increased as the surface treatment temperature of aminosilane on silica increased.

In this study, an amorphous silica was functionalized with aminosilane, N-[(3-trimethoxysilyl)propyl]ethylenediamine (2NS) and the late transition metal catalysts including ($(DME)NiBr_2$ and $PdCl_2$(COD)) were subsequently immobilized on the functionalized amorphous silica for norbornene polymerization. Effects of the polymerization temperature, polymerization time, Al/Ni molar ratio, and type of co-catalyst on norbornene polymerization were investigated. Unsupported late transition metal catalysts did not show any activities for norbornene polymerization. However, the $SiO_2$/2NS/Ni catayst with MAO system, with increasing polymerization temperature, increased the polymerization activity and decreased the molecular weight of the polynorbornene (PNB). Furthermore, the catalyst when increasing polymerization temperature caused the decrease in both the polymerization activity and molecular weight of PNB. This confirmed that the stability of $SiO_2$/2NS/Ni at a high temperature was greater than that of $SiO_2$/2NS/Pd. Also the longer polymerization time resulted in the higher conversion of norbornene for both catalysts. When the Al : Ni molar ratio was 1000 : 1, the highest activity (15.3 kg-PNB/($({\mu}mol-Ni^*hr$)) but lowest molecular weight ($M_n$ = 124,000 g/mol) of PNB were achieved. Also $SiO_2$/2NS/Ni catalyst with borate/TEAL resulted in diminishing the polymerization activity and molecular weight of PNB with increasing the polymerization temperature.
Influence of different cultivated areas on the processing-grade tuber yield, specific gravity, reducing sugar content and tuber qualities of five promising varieties was studied to get the basic information for selecting potato varieties with good processing quality under the different cultivated conditions on Korea. The average total tuber yields of 5 tested varieties at the 2nd harvest time was 3,.051kg/10a in Daekwallyoung. The processing-grade tuber yield of the late-maturing variety of Gemchip was over 3.2 tons per 10a, whereas that of late-maturing variety, NS1 was 2.8 tons per 10a. The dry matter content of the tubers produced from Daekwallyoung was the highest, followed by the order of Bosung, atlantic was the highest in dry matter content, followed by the order of NS1, NS2, Superior and Gemchip. Degrees of change in glucose content as affected by change of cultivated areas were different among varieties. Atlantic and NS1 showed less change of glucose content as compared with other varieties.

The Double Pulsar (PSR J0737-3039) is the only neutron star-neutron star (NS-NS) binary in which both NSs have been detectable as radio pulsars. The Double Pulsar has been assumed to dominate the Galactic NS-NS binary merger rate $R_g$ among all known systems, solely based on the properties of the first-born, recycled pulsar (PSR J0737-3039A, or A) with an assumption for the beaming correction factor of 6. In this work, we carefully correct observational biases for the second-born, non-recycled pulsar (PSR J0737-0737B, or B) and estimate the contribution from the Double Pulsar on $R_g$ using constraints available from both A and B. Observational constraints from the B pulsar favour a small beaming correction factor for A (~2), which is consistent with a bipolar model. Considering known NS-NS binaries with the best observational constraints, including both A and B, we obtain $R_g=21_{-14}{^+28}$ per Myr at 95 per cent confidence from our reference model. We expect the detection rate of gravitational waves from NS-NS inspirals for the advanced ground-based gravitational-wave detectors is to be $8_{-5}{^+10}$ per yr at 95 per cent confidence. We discuss prospects of gravitational-wave detection based on our results. Implications of PSR J1906+0746, which is likely to be another tight NS-NS binary in the Galactic disc supported by recent observation, are also remarked.

The influence of powdered and colloidal nano-silica (NS) on the mechanical properties of cement mortar has been investigated. Powdered-NS (~40 nm) was synthesized by employing the sol-gel method and compared with commercially available colloidal NS (~20 nm). SEM and XRD studies revealed that the powdered-NS is non-agglomerated and amorphous, while colloidal-NS is agglomerated in nature. Further, these nanoparticles were incorporated into cement mortar for evaluating compressive strength, gel/space ratio, portlandite quantification, C-S-H quantification and chloride diffusion. Approximately, 27 and 37 % enhancement in compressive strength was observed using colloidal and powdered-NS, respectively, whereas the same was up to 19 % only when silica fume was used. Gel/space ratio was also determined on the basis of degree of hydration of cement mortar and it increases linearly with the compressive strength. Furthermore, DTG results revealed that lime consumption capacity of powdered-NS is significantly higher than colloidal-NS, which results in the formation of additional calcium-silicate-hydrate (C-S-H). Chloride penetration studies revealed that the powdered-NS significantly reduces the ingress of chloride ion as the microstructure is considerably improved by incorporating into cement mortar.

Test items for deicing performance were ice melting and ice penetration, freezing point depressions and eutectic points, pH, thermal properties for selected deicing chemicals. As a test results, in case of the use chloride-containing deicier in area that concrete structures has subjected to freez-thaw reaction in winter season, it showed desirable method that use deicing chemicals mixed with optimum ratio rather than use one deicing chemicals when is consider to deicing performance and effects, corrosion of steel materials, freez-thaw resistance of concrete.
