  • 최근 차량에 설치된 단말기를 통해 길안내 서비스, 교통정보 서비스 등 다양한 정보를 제공하는 텔레매틱스 서비스가 활발하게 연구되고 있다. 하지만 현재 대다수의 텔레매틱스 서비스는 최대 15m의 공간 오차를 가진 GPS 기술을 이용하기 때문에 차량의 정확한 위치정보를 파악하기는 힘들다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 무선 센서 노드를 이용해 GPS보다 정확한 차량의 위치정보와 속도를 감지해 교차로에서 발생할 수 있는 차량 충돌을 예측하고 충돌 위험 정보를 교차로에 근접한 자동차에게 알려주는 텔레매틱스 교통안전시스템을 구성하고 노드 간 통신 프로토콜로서 IEEE 802.15.4[1]를 채택한 후 고정 라우팅 방식으로 차량정보를 베이스 스테이션까지 보내어 교차로 주변차량 전체에 브로드캐스트하는 방식을 취하도록 한다. 빠르게 이동하는 차량의 특성상 교차로 차량 충돌 방지 서비스 구현에 있어서 높은 실시간성과 신뢰성을 갖춘 프로토콜이 요구된다. 따라서 본 차량 충돌 예측을 위한 교통안전시스템의 신뢰성과 실시간성을 평가하기 위하여 Network Simulator 2 (NS/2)[2]를 이용하여 시뮬레이션 한다.

Improvement of Surface Hardness of 2205 Duplex Stainless Steel by Laser Shock Peening and Observations of Surface Changes (레이저 쇼크 피닝에 의한 2205 듀플렉스 스테인리스강의 표면 경도 향상과 표면 변화 관찰)

  • This work reports the results for laser shock peening of duplex stainless steel (22% Chromium - 5% Nickel) using a pulsed Nd:YAG laser (wavelength = 532nm, pulse width = 8ns). for the application to high-capacity pumps for seawater desalination plants. By properly selecting the process parameters such as laser intensity of 10GW/$cm^2$, laser pulse density of 75pulse/$mm^2$, and $100{\mu}m$ thick aluminum foil as an absorbent coating layer, the surface hardness of duplex stainless steel could be enhanced by 26%, from 256HV to 323HV with little changes in surface morphology and roughness. The depth of laser shock peened layer was measured to be around 2mm. The large enhancement of surface hardness is considered to have high practical importance in minimizing abrasive and corrosive deterioration of pump parts.

  • Clustering allows hierarchical structures to be built on the nodes and enables more efficient use of scarce resources, such as frequency spectrum, bandwidth, and energy in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). This paper proposes a hierarchical clustering algorithm called EEHC which is more energy efficient than existing algorithms for WSNs, It introduces region node selection as well as cluster head election based on the residual battery capacity of nodes to reduce the costs of managing sensor nodes and of the communication among them. The role of cluster heads or region nodes is rotated among nodes to achieve load balancing and extend the lifetime of every individual sensor node. To do this, EEHC clusters periodically to select cluster heads that are richer in residual energy level, compared to the other nodes, according to clustering policies from administrators. To prove the performance improvement of EEHC, the ns-2 simulator was used. The results show that it can reduce the energy and bandwidth consumption for organizing and managing WSNs comparing it with existing algorithms.

  • The 2.0 GeV Pohang Light Source (PLS) is consisted of a full energy Linac and a storage ring. Four kicker magnets are installed in the storage ring tunnel to move the stored beam orbit in the storage ring closer to the injected beam from the beam transfer line. The injected beam then falls into the storage ring beam dynamic aperture. A kicker magnet modulator drives all four kicker magnets to maintain field balance and also synchronized kick of the beam. The kicker modulator can handle 2 GeV full energy beam. The kicker magnet modulator is installed in the storage ring tunnel and under stable operation. Specification of the kicker magnet modulator is ${\sim}6.0{\mu}s$ pulse-width, 200 ns flat-top width with ${\pm}0.2%$ regulation, ${\sim}24\;kA$ peak current, and 10 Hz repetition rate. Two thyratron switches (EEV CX-1536AX) are used in the system. In this article, design, and experimental results of the kicker magnet modulator are discussed.

Effects of Ultrasound and Laser Therapy in Patients With Sub-Acute Lower Back Pain (초음파 치료와 레이저 치료가 아급성 요통에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was designed to determine the efficacy of ultrasound and laser therapy for sub-acute lower back pain. Twenty-seven patients with sub-acute low back pain were recruited, who were randomly assigned to three groups: Ultrasound group (actual ultrasound, 1.1 MHz, $1.0W/cm^2$, duty cycle 100%, 10 min/session, n=9), laser group (actual laser, 904 nm, 155 ns, 13.5 W, 12 mW, 90 sec/point, n=9), and control group (placebo ultrasound or placebo laser, n=9). All of treatments including placebo procedures were applied to patients over a period of 2 weeks, five times a week. Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), Modified Schober's Test (MST), and Modified Oswestry Disability Questionnaire (MODQ) were used by the clinical and functional evaluations before and after intervention. At post-hoc, significant differences were observed in all groups with respect to VAS, MST (p<.05), except MODQ. VAS and MST score were more significantly improved in the ultrasound group than the laser and control group (p<.0167). However, no significant difference was present between the laser group and the control group. Therefore, this study revealed that ultrasound therapy was effective in pain relief and improvement of lumbar mobility in patients with sub-acute lower back pain. However, laser therapy did not show the effects for sub-acute lower back pain.

  • 본 논문에서는 비정질-결정질간 가역적 상변화 기록 매질로 이용되고 있는 $(Ag_{5.5}In_{6.5}Sb_{59}Te_{29})$ 합금 박막의 Ag 조성 증가에 따른 원자구조와 상변화 특성간의 상관관계를 연구하였다. 실험에 사용된 AgInSbTe 조성은 5N의 금속 파우더를 용융-냉각법으로 벌크를 제작하였고 열증착 방법으로 Si (100) 및 유리(corning glass, 7059) 기판위에 200 nm 두께로 박막을 증착하였다. 비정질 박막의 결정화속도를 평가하기 위해서 658 nm의 LD가 장착된 나노-펄스 스캐너를 이용하여 power; 1~17mW, pulse duration; 10~460 ns의 범위에서 각 조성의 상변화에 따른 반사도 차이를 측정, 비교 분석하였다. 또한 각각의 박막을 $100^{\circ}C$ 에서 $300^{\circ}C$까지 $50^{\circ}C$ 간격으로 $N_2$ 분위기에서 1시간동안 열처리 한 후 XRD와 UV-Vis-NIR spectrophotometer를 사용하여 각 상의 구조분석 및 광학적 특성을 분석하였으며, 4-point probe로 면저항을 측정하였다.

Fabrication and Output Characteristics of Compact Capacitor Transfer XeCl Laser (용량이행영 소형 XeCl레이저 제작 및 출력특성)

  • Small XeCl laser of charge transfer discharge excitation was fabricated and output charateristics were investigated according to gas mixture ratio. Beam cross section of 2.7cm${\times}$1.5cm was obtained by constructing excimer laser which preionization is operated automatically and which has chang profile electrode. According to the component gas mixture ratio, the condition of maximum output energy, efficiency were investigated. The maximum energy, efficiency and specific energy were obtained 230 mJ, 1.6% and 1.1 J/l, respectively. The long pulse effect is observed by constructing low peaking to main capacitance ratio of 1:3.

  • We studied thermal diffusion properties diffusion properties of multi-layered Ge-Sb-Te alloy thin films for optical recording media by solving the thermal equation. Based on the numerical analysis of optical energy distribution and absorption inside multi-layered films including temperature gradient and heat transfer simultaneously, we proposed the optimum parameters of the input laser power and the multi-layer structure as follow. i) Input laser power is 18 mW, ii) laser exposure time is 60 ns, iii) the thicknesses of the lower and the upper ZnS-SiO$_2$are 140 nm and 20~30 nm respectively, and iv) thickness of Ge-Sb-Te recording film is 20 nm.

  • A $Nd:YVO_4$ laser dual-end-pumped by a wavelength-locked 878.6 nm laser diode is presented. At the repetition rate of 500 KHz, the absorbed pump power of 58 W, an output power of 26.1 W at 1064 nm is obtained, corresponding to an optical-optical efficiency of 45%. The pulse width is 44.2 ns. Meanwhile, the effects of traditional 808 nm pumping and 878.6 nm dual-end-pumping on the output laser beam quality and pulse width are compared and analyzed in an experiment.

  • Vehicular Ad hoc Networks are considered as special kind of Mobile Ad Hoc Networks. VANETs are a new emerging recently developed, advanced technology that allows a wide set of applications related to providing more safety on roads, more convenience for passengers, self-driven vehicles, and intelligent transportation systems (ITS). Delay Tolerant Networks (DTN) are networks that allow communication in the event of connection problems, such as delays, intermittent connections, high error rates, and so on. Moreover, these are used in areas that may not have end-to-end connectivity. The expansion from DTN to VANET resulted in Vehicle Delay Tolerant Networks (VDTN). In this approach, a vehicle stores and carries a message in its buffer, and when the opportunity arises, it forwards the message to another node. Carry-store-forward mechanisms, packets in VDTNs can be delivered to the destination without clear connection between the transmitter and the receiver. The primary goals of routing protocols in VDTNs is to maximize the probability of delivery ratio to the destination node, while minimizing the total end-to-end delay. DTNs are used in a variety of operating environments, including those that are subject to failures and interruptions, and those with high delay, such as vehicle ad hoc networks (VANETs). This paper discusses DTN routing protocols belonging to unicast delay tolerant position based. The comparison was implemented using the NS2 simulator. Simulation of the three DTN routing protocols GeOpps, GeoSpray, and MaxProp is recorded, and the results are presented.
