CNG/Diesel Dual-fuel 엔진의 CNG 혼합율에 따른 엔진성능 및 배출가스 특성에 관한 연구 (The Engine Performance and Emission Characteristics of CNG/Diesel Dual-fuel Engine by CNG Mixing Ratio)

  • A CNG/diesel dual-fuel engine uses CNG as the main fuel and injects a small amount of diesel as an ignition priming. This study proposed the modification of the existing diesel engine into a dual-fuel engine that injects diesel with a high pressure by common rail direct injection (CRDI) and by injecting CNG at the intake port for premixing. And experiment was progressed for understanding about effect of CNG mixing ratio. The CNG/diesel dual-fuel engine showed equally satisfactory coordinate torque and power regardless of CNG mixing ratio. The PM emission was low at any CNG mixing ratio because of very small diesel pilot injection. In case of NOx and HC, high CNG mixing ratio showed low NOx and HC emissions at low speed. At medium & high speed, low CNG mixing ratio showed low NOx and HC emissions. Therefore, it would be optimized by controlling CNG mixing ratio.

경유자동차의 실험실과 실도로 주행시험에 관한 비교 분석 (An analysis of Laboratory and Real Driving Test using Diesel Vehicles)

  • Since a diesel vehicle scandal related to the 'A' automobile company was issued in the United States in 2015, many countries have been interested in emission defeat devices. Being embedded in some diesel passenger cars sold in Korea, a defeat device for exhaust gas may have influence on both fuel economy and NOx emissions. In order to examine such effects, we carried out laboratory indoor tests as well as real road driving tests using four models of 'A' automobile company which may employ defeat devices. Those tests were performed observing the test modes of FTP-75, HWFET, and NEDC. Although fuel economy and NOx emissions according to indoor tests comply with the suggested tolerance, the findings in the real road driving tests do not satisfy the tolerance. Along with the results provided in this study, further evaluation may be necessary to investigate the noticeable difference between the indoor and real road tests.

예혼합 희박 연소기의 연소특성에 관한 연구 (Study on the Combustion Characteristics of a Lean-Premixed Combustor)

  • Various types of the air/fuel pre-mixer have been designed and tested to investigate the combustion characteristics of the lean-premixed gas turbine combustor, such as NO emission and flame stability. One type of the pre-mixers has been selected and installed to a 70 kW lean-premixed gas turbine combustor. The concentrations of CO and NO were measured with varying equivalence ratios in the combustion chamber at ambient pressure. The result shows that the emissions of CO and NO are heavily affected by the shape of the pre-mixer. The NO and CO emissions decreased, as the mixing ratio of air and fuel increased. In addition, the NO emission of the lean-premixed low NOx combustor is more dependent on the equivalence ratio than that of the conventional combustor.

  • In order to investigate the effect of premixed gasoline, diesel fuel, and n-heptane charges on the combustion and exhaust emission characteristics in a direct injection (DI) diesel engine, the experimental studies are performed. The premixed fuels are injected into the premixing chamber that installed upstream of the intake port in order to minimize the inhomogeneity effect of premixed charge. The injection nozzle for directly injected fuel is equipped in the center of the combustion chamber. The air temperature control system is equipped in the intake manifold to examine the effect of air temperature. The experimental results of this study show premixing fuel is effective method to reduce the NOx and soot emissions of diesel engine. NOx emissions are linearly decreased with increasing premixed ratio for the three kinds of premixed fuels. The heating of intake air $(80^{\circ}C)$ reduced the deterioration of BSFC in high premixed ratio, because it promotes evaporation of premixed diesel droplet in the premixing chamber.

Radiant Tube 버너에 있어서 흡기 온도 및 산소분물이 연료 소모에 미치는 영향 (An Experimental Study on Effect of Temperature and Oxygen fraction of Intake Air on Fuel Consumption in Radiant Tube Burner)

  • 강판의 냉간압연 후 소둔을 하기 위한 열처리 공정에서 사용되고 있는 Radiant Tube Burner(이하 RT버너) 연비를 개선하기 위한 효율적인 방법을 실험적으로 조사하였다. 재열기가 설치된 모델 RT버너를 실험에 맞도록 개조하여, 배기 중 산소 농도 조건을 변화시키면서 연료 소모에 대한 흡입공기의 온도와 산소분율의 영향도를 파악하였다. 본 연구의 결과, 흡기 온도를 상승시키면 RT버너의 chamber온도가 상승하나 그 상승폭은 흡기 온도 상승폭의 $10\%$에 지나지 많아, 흡입 공기 온도의 상승만으로는 연료 소모 개선을 기대할 수 없다는 것을 알 수 있었다 그러나, 흡입 공기 중 산소분율 변경 실험 결과, 흡입 공기 중의 산소분율을 $1.5\%$증가시키면 NOx의 배출이 약 $40\%$정도 증가하지만 약 $20\%$의 연비 개선 효과를 보였다. 따라서, NOx 배출 증가를 억제하는 산소 고부하 전용 RT버너는 RT버너 시스템의 연료 소모를 개선하는 효과적인 방법의 하나로 기대된다.

안정동위원소를 이용한 이동오염원에 의한 대기 중 NO2의 거동특성 연구 (Characterization of contribution of vehicle emissions to ambient NO2 using stable isotopes)

  • 질소산화물(NOx)은 인위적 배출원(화석연료 연소, 이동오염원, 산업배출원 등)과 자연배출원(번개, 생물기원 토양, 산불 등)으로부터 배출된다. 질소안정동위원소를 이용한 분석 기법은 배출원의 기여도 및 추적 인자로 활용되어 왔다. 본 연구는 NOx의 특성을 보기 위하여 ${\delta}^{15}N-NO_2$를 측정하였으며 배출원의 동위원소 특성을 파악하기 위하여 수행되었다. 시료채취가 용이한 Ogawa PAS를 이용하여 대기 중 가스상 질소를 포집하여 안정동위원소를 분석하였다. 도심지역 터널내부의 평균 $NO_2$ 농도는 $3808.8{\pm}2656.5ppbv$이며, ${\delta}^{15}N-NO_2$ 값은 $7.7{\pm}1.8$‰를 나타내며 일반적인 이동오염원의 값을 나타냈다. 고속도로의 이동오염원으로부터 거리에 따른 결과, 고속도로와 인접한 지점의 $NO_2$ 농도는 $965.4{\pm}125.2ppbv$이며 ${\delta}^{15}N-NO_2$$5.9{\pm}1.4$‰이었고, 1.1 km 떨어진 지점의 $NO_2$ 농도는 $372.5{\pm}95.9ppbv$이며 ${\delta}^{15}N-NO_2$$-11.5{\pm}2.9$‰로 고속도로인근의 값이 높게 나타내었다. 고속도로부터 이동오염원 기여율을 보기 위하여 binary mixing model을 수행하였으며 고속도로와 근접할수록 기여율, 농도 및 동위원소가 높게 나타나는 경향을 나타냈다.

  • The purpose of this research was to investigate the effects of exhaust gas recirculation(EGR) with diesel particulate filter(DPF) on heavy duty diesel engine. The exhaust gas was recirculated to the intake manifold after the smoke was eliminated in the DPF, The major conclusions of this research are i)at each engine speed EGR ratio was able to 60% maximum ii) the amount of NOx emissions was decreased to 90% at high engine load and to more than 60% at low engine load and iii) the amout of NOx emissions was increased to five times according to the increase of engine load but the effect of EGR is more effective at high engine load.

  • In this paper, the effect of oxygen component in fuel on the exhaust emissions has been investigated fur direct injection diesel engine. It was tested to estimate change of engine performance and exhaust emission characteristics for the commercial diesel fuel and oxygenated blended fuel which has seven kinds of mixed ratio. And, the effects of exhaust gas recirculation(EGR) on the characteristics of NOx emission have been investigated. Ethylene glycol mono-n-butyl ether(EGBE) contains oxygen component 27% in itself, and it is a kind of effective oxygenated fuel of mono-ether group that the smoke emission and unburned hydrocarbons of EGBE is reduced remarkably compared with commercial diesel fuel, that is, it can supply oxygen component sufficiently at higher loads and speeds in diesel engine. It was found that simultaneous reduction of smoke and NOx was achieved with oxygenated fuel and cooled EGR method.

  • This paper presents a neural network approach to control exhaust gas recirculation(EGR) in a Liquefied Petroleum Gas(LPG) engine. In order to meet Increasingly stringent automotive exhaust emission regulations, alternative fuels such as LPG engines have been developed in many countries. HC&CO emissions of LPG engines can be easily reduced through air-fuel ratio control, but the control effect on NOx reduction is not good enough.   • This research focused on the principle and the development of continuous regeneration DPF technology which was the best particulate matters removing technology of current existing technologies owing to its superior comparability and possible applicability. In addition, there were some discussions about the affecting engine parameters such as engine driving conditions and the amounts, velocity, temperature, pressure of exhaust emissions as well as sulfur contents and lubricants which were prerequisites to prevent poisoning effect on catalysts. The test was made on an 8000cc heavy-duty turbo diesel engine on which continuous regeneration DPF was in order to investigate regeneration characteristics of DPF and me performance under the condition of standard or 50ppm low sulphur diesel. Exhaust emissions, CO, HC, NOx PM were measured and compared under D-13 modes.
