In this study, 3-D analyses were conducted while taking every construction stage into account. Then 2-D analyses were conducted which yield the same results with the 3-D results. The crown settlement normalized by the ultimate value was compared during the process to overcome the discrepancy caused by different dimensions. When a bench or a core is left uncut to give extra support to the face and eventually the whole excavation boundary, this extra supporting effect also has to be included in the analysis. In this study, this effect is also implemented in terms of the load distribution factor. When the length of the bench is very short compared to the diameter of the tunnel in such cases as in short bench cut or in mini-bench cut, the supporting effect of the face does not disappear even after the bench is completely excavated and supported since the face is still too close to the point of interest. The 4th load distribution factor was defined to stand for the advance of the face after the completion of the excavation cycle. The 4th load distribution factor turned out to be very useful in determining the load distribution factors when a tunnel is excavated by bench cut with various bench lengths under different initial conditions.
Streptococcosis caused by Streptococcus parauberis is a very important disease in farmed olive flounder Paralichthys olivaceus. For most fish pathogens, including S. parauberis, there are no analytical criteria to distinguish antibioticsusceptible strains from antibiotic-resistant strains. In this study, epidemiological cut-off ($CO_{WT}$) values were generated to classify 75 strains of S. parauberis isolated from 1999 to 2018 as wild type (WT) and non-wild type (NWT) using disc diffusion data and normalized resistance interpretation (NRI) analysis. The susceptibility of the isolates to 16 antibiotics was evaluated using CLSI guideline M42-A. The wild-type cut-off values for amoxicillin, erythromycin, oxytetracycline, and florfenicol for S. parauberis were ${\geq}35$, 31, 28, and 27 mm, respectively. The NWT ratios of S. parauberis strains to treatment with GEN, FFC, ENR, SXT, EFT, VAN, and CHL were 17% or less, indicating that these antibiotics may be used to treat streptococcosis caused by S. parauberis. For recent S. parauberis isolates, the NWT ratios for AMX, ERY, OTC and FFC are much higher than for strains isolated from 1999-2007. The $CO_{WT}$ data from this study will assist aquatic animal disease professionals in prescribing appropriate antibiotics for the treatment of streptococcosis caused by S. parauberis, which will help reduce the misuse and abuse of antibiotics in the aquaculture sector.
Human has average pitch-level when speak naturally. That is 'Habitual pitch level'. However, if noise added at speech, the pitch-wave is changed irregularly. We can estimate noise level of speech by using this point. This paper calculates energy level of the input speech, pitch period from of above limited energy level by NAMDF (Normalized Average Magnitude Difference Function) method, after cut each frame by pitch period unit, and propose a method that estimate noise level through closed pitch of input speech.

At-cut quarts crystal has been applied as chemical vapour sensors. The responses of quartz crystal at 9 MHz coated with various lipids were determined for organic gases which showed different affinities for each lipid. The identification of odorants depending on the species of lipid used for coating is discussed in terms of the normalized resonant frequency shift pattern.
A double diffusion technique is developed to enhance the effective mode index of optical waveguides in $LiTaO_3$. It consists of Zn diffusion from the vapor phase at relatively low temperatures (750->$800^{\circ}C$), into waveguides initially produced by Ti indiffusion at higher temperature (1150->$1200^{\circ}C$). Both X- and Z-cut substrates are investigated. A model that combines profiles of both diffusion is formulated to calculate the expected effective index values for planar waveguides. Good agreement is found between experimental results and model predictions which assume that the initial Ti profile is not affected by the lower temperature Zn diffusion. Effective index enhancements as high as 0.005 and 0.003 are obtained by this method for the fundamental extraordinary and ordinary modes, respectively.

The characteristics of a rock joint which influence the stability of rock mass structures, such as the cut slopes and the tunnels, are largely controlled by the conditions of the rock joint as well as its boundary conditions. Boundary conditions can be represented by assuming that the deformability(or stiffness) of the rock mass surrounding the joints is modelled by a spring with stiffness. A new direct shear apparatus is developed in this study, which adapts a servo control system using PID algorithm. This apparatus can be used to investigate the various aspects of shear characteristics of the rock joints at conditions of constant normal stress and constant normal stiffness and so on. It is possible that the behavior under the constant normal stiffness condition can be predicted by the normalized graphic method with results obtained from the tests in the constant normal stress condition.
We investigated the responses of six types of lipid-coated AT-cut quartz crystal resonators to chemical vapour sensors. The responses of quartz crystal at 9 MHz coated with phosphatidylglycerol (PG), phosphatidylinositol(PI), phosphatidylethanolamine(PE), phosphatidylserine(PS), and lipid A(LA) were obtained for amyl acetate, acetoin, menthane and other organic gases which showed different affinities for each lipid. The identification of odorants depending on the species of lipid used for coating is discussed in terms of the normalized resonant frequency shift pattern.
A graph cuts method has recently attracted a lot of attentions for image segmentation, as it can globally minimize energy functions composed of data term that reflects how each pixel fits into prior information for each class and smoothness term that penalizes discontinuities between neighboring pixels. In previous approaches to graph cuts-based automatic image segmentation, GMM(Gaussian mixture models) is generally used, and means and covariance matrixes calculated by EM algorithm were used as prior information for each cluster. However, it is practicable only for clusters with a hyper-spherical or hyper-ellipsoidal shape, as the cluster was represented based on the covariance matrix centered on the mean. For arbitrary-shaped clusters, this paper proposes graph cuts-based image segmentation using mean shift analysis. As a prior information to estimate the data term, we use the set of mean trajectories toward each mode from initial means randomly selected in $L^*u^*{\upsilon}^*$ color space. Since the mean shift procedure requires many computational times, we transform features in continuous feature space into 3D discrete grid, and use 3D kernel based on the first moment in the grid, which are needed to move the means to modes. In the experiments, we investigate the problems of mean shift-based and normalized cuts-based image segmentation methods that are recently popular methods, and the proposed method showed better performance than previous two methods and graph cuts-based automatic image segmentation using GMM on Berkeley segmentation dataset.
Objectives : Scolopendrae Corpus has a broad array of clinical applications in Korean medicine, including treatment of inflammatory conditions such as arthritis. To explore the global gene expression profiles in human Raw cell lines treated with Scolopendrae Corpus herbal-acupuncture solution (SCHAS), cDNA microarray analysis was performed. Methods : The Raw 264.7 cells were treated with lipopolysaccharide (LPS), SCHAS, or both. The primary data was normalized by the total spots of intensity between two groups, and then normalized by the intensity ratio of reference genes such as housekeeping genes in both groups. The expression ratio was converted to log2 ratio. Normalized spot intensities were calculated into gene expression ratios between the control and treatment groups. Greater than 2 fold changes between two groups were considered to be of significance. Results : Of the 8 K genes profiled in this study, with a cut-off level of two-fold change in the expression, 20 genes (BCL2-related protein A1, MARCKS-like 1, etc.) were upregulated and 5 genes (activated RNA polymerase II transcription cofactor 4, calcium binding atopy-related autoantigen 1, etc.) downregulated following LPS treatment. 139 genes (kell blood group precursor (McLeod phenotype), ribosomal protein S7, etc.) were upregulated and 42 genes (anterior gradient 2 homolog (xenopus laevis), phosphodiesterase 8B, etc.) were downregulated following SCHAS treatment. And 10 genes (yeast saccharomyces cerevisiae intergeneic sequence 4-1, mitogen-activated protein kinase 1, etc.) were upregulated and 8 genes (spermatid perinuclear RNA binding protein, nuclear receptor binding protein 2, etc.) were downregulated following co-stimulation of SCHAS and LPS. Discussions : It is thought that microarrays will play an ever-growing role in the advance of our understanding of the pharmacological actions of SCHAS in the treatment of arthritis. But further studies are required to concretely prove the effectiveness of SCHAS.
The characteristics of a ferroelectric-domain inverted grating fabricated by applying a high-voltage pulse at room temperature in Ti-diffused channel waveguides in z-cut $LiNbO_3$ (Ti:PPLN) were examined for channel waveguide quasi phase-matched secondharmonic generation devices. The fabrication conditions of uniform periodic domain-inversion were examined. Ti:PPLN with period ${\Lambda}=16.6{\mu}m$ for SHG were fabricated and the performances were measured. A normalized SHG efficiency as high as 473 (%/W) was obtained with 49 mm interaction length.
