This study was performed to evaluate the mechanical properties of high performance lightweight polymer concrete using fillers and synthetic lightweight coarse aggregate. The following conclusions were drawn. 1. The unit weight of the G3, G4 and G5 concrete was 1.500t/m$^3$, 1.506t/m$^3$ and 1.535t/m$^3$, respectively. Specially, the unit weights of those concrete were decreased 33~35% than that of the normal cement concrete. 2. The highest strength was achieved by heavy calcium carbonate, it was increased 27% by compressive, 95% by tensile and 195% by bending strength than that of the normal cement concrete, respectively. 3. The elastic modulus was in the range of 8.0 x 104~ 10.4 x lO4kg/cm2, which was approximately 35~42% of that of the normal cement concrete. Normal cement concrete was showed relatively higher elastic modulus. 4. The ultrasonic pulse velocity of fillers was in the range of 2, 900m/sec, which was showed about the same compared to that of the normal cement concrete. Heavy calcium carbonate was showed higher pulse velocity. 5. The compressive, tensile, bending strength and ultrasonic pulse velocity were largely showed with the increase of unit weight.

Objective : The purpose of this study was to get the mean of duration of post-rotatory nystagmus test in normal children and to differentiate the duration of post-rotatory nystagmus test between normal children and children with pervasive developmental disorder. Method : 84 subjects were between 3 and 5 years of age and consisted of 64 normal children and 20 children with the pervasive developmental disorder. Analysis of the data was done by using t-test and ANOVA. Results : The results were as follows: 1. Range of duration of post-rotatory nyatagmus test in normal children was $5{\sim}22$second on left and $7{\sim}21$ second on right and the mean was 12.63 second on left and 12.59 second on right. 2. Range of duration of post-rotatory nystagmus test in children with the pervasive developmental disorder was $3{\sim}11$ second on both and the mean was 5.65 second on left and 5.60 second on right. 3. There was no significant difference between males and females with normal children in duration of post-rotatory nystagmus test. However, there was a significant difference of the mean duration between 3 and 5 years old normal group. 4. Children with pervasive developmental disorder significantly have relatively lower duration than the duration of post-rotatory nystagmus test of normal children. Conclusions : The results of the study showed significant difference between normal children and children with pervasive developmental disorder in duration of post-rotatory nystagmus test and suggest that they could be applied to the baseline of clinical therapy.

This study discusses Johnson's $S_U$-normal distribution capturing a wide range of non-normality in various regression models. We provide the likelihood inference using Johnson's $S_U$-normal distribution, and propose a likelihood ratio (LR) test for normality. We also apply the $S_U$-normal distribution to the binary and censored regression models. Monte Carlo simulations are used to show that the LR test using the $S_U$-normal distribution can be served as a model specification test for normal error distribution, and that the $S_U$-normal maximum likelihood (ML) estimators tend to yield more reliable marginal effect estimates in the binary and censored model when the error distributions are non-normal.
The purposes of this study were:1) to determine the normal range of CR-CO discrepancy in normal occlusion group ; 2) to evaluate the changes of condylar position and craniofacial morphology between centric relation and centric occlusion before and after stabilization splint therapy in malocclusion group outside the normal range of CR-CO discrepancy. The normal occlusion group consisted of 80 subjects who had well-balanced faces and good occlusions with acceptable Class I molar relationship. They had not been treated orthodontically and had no signs or symptoms of temporomandibular joint dysfunction. 71 malocclusion patients enrolled for orthodontic treatment at the Department of Orthodontics, College of Dentistry, Chosun University comprised the malocclusion group, little variation of growth factor by the second molar eruption. They had CR-CO discrepancy beyond normal range and were subdivided into anterior-posteriorly -[25 Class I (0$\geq$4), and 24 Class III (ANB$\leq$0)] : vertically - [20 Normodivergentscy (30$\geq$34), and 18 Hypodivergency (SNGoMe$\leq$30)] ; and sexually - [26 Male and 45 Female]. For malocclusion group, stabilization splint with mutually protected type of occlusal scheme was applied for three months. Panadent articulators, Panadent condylar position indicator (CPI), and lateral headfilm were used to investigate the influence of stabilization splint on condylar position and craniofacial morphology. The results of this study were as follows. 1. The amounts of CR-CO discrepancy in normal occlusion were that the antero-Posterior component (${\bigtriangledown}X$) was $0.56\pm0.46mm$ (Male:$0.63\pm0.42mm$, Female:$0.49\pm0.50mm$) ; the supero-inferior component (${\bigtriangledown}Y$) was $-0.75\pm0.48mm$ (Male:$-0.76\pm0.52mm$, Female:-$0.73\pm0.43mm$) : and the transverse component (${\bigtriangledown}Z$) was $-0.33\pm0.28mm$ (Male : $-0.38\pm0.29mm$, Female:$-0.31\pm0.27mm$). 2. The condylar position was in normal range after stabilization splint therapy. 3. The mandible was always rotated infero-posteriorly after stabilization splint therapy. 4. Antero-posteriorly, Class III malocclusion responded very well to the stabilization splint therapy. 5. Vertically, Hyperdivergency responded very well to the stabilization splint therapy 6. Sexually, Male responded very well to the stabilization splint therapy.

Purpose : To determine normal CT number range of parotid gland by analyzing the change by age increase and the difference among individuals and between both sexes in CT number of normal parotid gland. Materials & Methods : 134 subjects who took the CT scan between the period of Jan. 1996 and Dec. 1997 at Yonsei University, Dental Hospital were selected. Criteria for selection were that the patients must be within the normal range clinically and radiologically, and the entire parotid gland on the axial view must be shown. Among the axial views. the one showing the greatest parotid gland size was selected and its CT number was recorded. Also. CT numbers from both masseter muscle were recorded as its control. Results : There was statistically significant correlation between CT number of right and left of parotid glands and masseter muscles. With the increase of age. there is a significant decrease in the CT number of parotid gland(p<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in CT number between sexes except the 7th decade and beyond age group of parotid gland(p>0.05). Conclusion : As age increases, CT number of parotid gland has a tendency to decrease, and there is no significant difference in the CT numbers between left and right parotid gland. Therefore in the CT scan of patients suspected of having a salivary gland disease of the parotid gland. to consider normal range of the age-dependent CT numbers of parotid gland and compare the CT numbers of the right and left parotid gland might be useful in diagnosing the disease.

This study is performed to evalute experimentally the nondestructive properties on the concrete that is treated with crushed oyster shell powder of 0.15m or smaller in diameter. The ultrsonic pulse velocity of crushed oyster shell concrete(COSC) is in the range of 4.110-4.267m/s, and the dynamic modulus of elasticity of COSC range from 288$\times$10$^3$ to 318 $\times$10$^3$kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$. The ultrasonic pulse velocity and dynamic modulus of elasticity are similar to those of normal portland cement concrete. The highest ultrasonic pulse velocity and dynamic modulus of COSC are measured at the 2.5% addition rate by weight of crushed oyster shell powder. The acid-resistance in increased of the content of crushed oyster shell powder. The acid-resistance of COSC with 15% addition rate by weight of crushed oyster shell power is 1.6 times greater than that of normal portland cement concrete. It is concluded that the addition of crushed oyster shell powder to normal portland cement concrete contributed to improve the nondestructive properties of concrete.

In this paper, we propose an optimal placement of sensor nodes with 2.4GHz wireless channel characteristics. The proposed method determines optimal transmission range based on log-normal path loss model, and optimal number of sensor nodes calculating the density of sensor nodes. For the lossless data transmission, we search the optimal locations with self-organizing feature maps(SOM) using transmission range, and number of sensor nodes. We demonstrate that optimal transmission range is 20m, and optimal number of sensor nodes is 8. We performed simulations on the searching for optimal locations and confirmed the link condition of sensor nodes.

This study was performed to evaluate the properties of permeable polymer concrete with fly ash and CaCO3. The following conclusions are drawn. The static modulusof elasticity is in the range of 1.19 $\times$105 ~1.49$\times$105 kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$, which is approximately 53 ~56% of that of the normal cement concrete. The oission's number of permeable polymer concrete is in the range of 3.95 ~6.53, which is less than that of the normal cement concrete. The dynamic modulus of elasticity is in the range of 1.29$\times$105 ~1.59$\times$105 kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$, which is approximately less compared to that of the normal cement of the static modulus . Fly ash 50% and CaCO3 50% filled permeable polymer concrete has showed higher dynamic modulus. The water permeability is in therange of 3.971 ~4.393$\ell$ /$\textrm{cm}^2$/h, and it is largely dependent upon the mix design. These concrete can be used to the structures which need water permeability.
Purpose: The purpose of this research was to develop and prove the effectiveness of structured arm exercise, which was used to reduce Arteriovenous Fistula (AVF) and Arteriovenous graft (AVG) stricture of hemodialysis patients. Methods: Quasi-experimental research design with non-equivalent control group was applied. 26 Subjects were participated in this study. 12 of hemodialysis patients who do not have a normal range of Static Intra Access Pressure Vein (SIAPV) score in the last three months were assigned to the experimental group and 14 patients who have a normal range of SIAPV score in the last three months to the control group. To analyze the collecting data after structured arm exercise, non parametric method with the repeated measures ANOVA by the Friedman test and Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test for post-hoc test was performed. Results: Unlike the experimental group after three months, the control group's SIAPV data went over the normal range. The experimental AVF group showed a difference in data after month 2 and month 3. - In AVG group, there were clear differences in each month of the test. Conclusion: This study proved that structured arm exercise therapy could be a simple and effective intervention. It is suggested to be actively utilized for hemodialysis patients.
Myotonic dystrophy (DM) is caused by the expansion of CTG trinucleotide repeat near the 3' end of the gene encoding for a member of protein kinase gene family (DMPK). The normal range of the CTG repeat was determined in 178 normal individuals (141 unrelated individuals and 37 of 9 families) by polymerase chain reaction (PCR), polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and silver staining method. And the expansion of the CTG repeats in a DM family was analyzed with Southern analysis. In normal population, the range of CTG repeat is between 5 and 34 and 19 different alleles were observed in that range, and $(CTG)_{11-14}$ alleles were predominant. 4 members of an affected family showed the 0.5-2.0 kb size expansion of CTG repeats. In this study we could predict the incidence of DM in Korea as 1 in 20,000 and we could establish the diagnostic procedure for myotonic dystrophy.
