도금공정의 액 분석에 따른 Solderability 개선 연구 (The Study of Solderability according to Chemical Analysis in Plating Process)

  • The purpose of solder plating on chip external electrode is to provide a proper solderability to chips on PCB's. The quantitative or qualitative analysis of solderability has been performed by destructive methods, reflow or flow. Evidently, the solderability tends to depend on the grain structure which is varied with additives. Research on the feasibility of employing electrochemical techniques to characterize the solderability of electroplated tin - lead, with respect to the additives, was non destructively performed. The deposit morphology and the polarization behavior of electrolytes containing proprietary additives were evaluated to investigate the soldering degradation. The plated panels from synthetic electrolyte were analyzed according to % Sn, plating thickness, deposit appearance, grain structure, solderability and cyclic voltammetry.

  • We present a new procedure to evaluate the degradation in a lCr-lMo-0.25V steel. The method is based on the existence of the peak of reversible permeability in the differential magnetization around the coercive field strength. The apparatus is based on the detection of the voltage induced in a surface type coil using a lock-in amplifier tuned to a frequency to the exciting one. Results obtained the reversible permeability and Vickers hardness on the annealed samples show the peak interval of reversible permeability and Vickers hardness decreased as ageing time increased. The correlation between Vickers hardness and the peak interval of reversible permeability could well be evaluated non destructively.

  • The hydraulic buffer stop placed on the end of the railway brakes the train could not reduce the velocity sufficiently because of the braking system troubles or driver's mistakes. The hydraulic buffer stop is composed of 2 operating parts; hydraulic buffers and rail clamps. Hydraulic buffers brake trains non-destructively in low speed, otherwise rail clamps begin to work in higher speed. In this paper, The braking process of the hydraulic buffer stop is investigated by numerical methods. The hydraulic buffer is numerically analyzed and designed to absorb the kinematic energy of the train below 3.2km/h speed. The hydraulic buffer stop crushed by the train with 5km/h speed is analyzed by FEM package-PAM CRASH in order to obtain the stress profile in rail clamps and buffer stop frame.

  • Here we show how by processing energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry (EDS) data obtained using highly sensitive, new generation EDS detectors in the AZtec LayerProbe software we can obtain data of sufficiently high quality to non-destructively measure the number of layers in two-dimensional (2D) $MoS_2$ and $MoS_2/WSe_2$ and thereby enable the characterization of working devices based on 2D materials. We compare the thickness measurements with EDS to results from atomic force microscopy measurements. We also show how we can use electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) to address fabrication challenges of 2D materials. Results from EBSD analysis of individual flakes of exfoliated $MoS_2$ obtained using the Nordlys Nano detector are shown to aid a better understanding of the exfoliation process which is still widely used to produce 2D materials for research purposes.

  • Acoustic microscopy and scanning electron microscopy were applied to non-destructively evaluate the hydrogen-induced cracking of API X-80 steels and to find the initiation time of the crack. The API X-80 steel had the average grain size of about $4-10{\mu}m$. The hardness was reduced from 240 to 202 [Hv] after exposing in HIC environment for 2-days. Friction coefficient and wear loss were 0.745 and 0.392 mm, respectively. Empirical equation of corrosion potential and corrosion rate of the steel with HIC time in $5%NaCl-0.5%CH_3COOH$ at $25^{\circ}C$ were $Eh\;(up)=0.06^*t[day]+0.2951$, $Eh(down)=0.376^*t[day]+0.5938$, respectively. HIC grew with micro-size after 1-day exposure. The HIC tended to propagate on the surface with Al, Si, Ti, and Mn.

  • The amount of water for the cultivation of citrus is different based on the growing period. The water content in the leaves of citrus can be a index for watering during cultivation. The purpose of this study is to determine non-destructively the water content of Citrus leaves by using near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS). Citrus leaves were prepared from satsuma mandarin leaves (Citrus unshiu Marc. var. okitsu) ranging from 62.20 to 69.98% of water content by loss on drying, NIR reflectance spectra of Citrus leaves were acquired by using a fiber optic probe.   • NIR reflectance spectroscopy, using a fiber-optic probe was used to determine rapidly and non-destructively the content of ambroxol in intact ambroxol 30 mg (nominal content 12.5% m/m ambroxol) tablets by collecting NIR spectra in range 1100 - 1750 nm and using PLSR calibration method. The tablets (10.3 - 15.9% m/m ambroxol, i.e., 82 - 127% of the nominal label content) were used 7 calibration set and 5 validation set. (omitted)

Development of Models for the Prediction of Domestic Red Pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) Powder Capsaicinoid Content using Visible and Near-infrared Spectroscopy

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to non-destructively and quickly predict the capsaicinoid content of domestic red pepper powders from various areas of Korea using a pungency measurement system in combination with visible and near-infrared (VNIR) spectroscopic techniques. Methods: The reflectance spectra of 149 red pepper powder samples from 14 areas of Korea were obtained in the wavelength range of 450-950 nm and partial least squares regression (PLSR) models for the prediction of capsaicinoid content were developed using area models. Results: The determination coefficient of validation (RV2), standard error of prediction (SEP), and residual prediction deviation (RPD) for the capsaicinoid content prediction model for the Namyoungyang area were 0.985, ${\pm}2.17mg/100g$, and 7.94, respectively. Conclusions: These results show the possibility of VNIR spectroscopy combined with PLSR models in the non-destructive and facile prediction of capsaicinoid content of red pepper powders from Korea.

근적외분광분석법을 이용한 과산화수소의 농도 측정 (Determination of Hydrogen Peroxide Concentration by Portable Near-Infrared (NIR) System)

  • This experiment was carried out to determine non-destructively the hydrogen peroxide concentration of 3% antiseptic hydrogen peroxide solutions by portable near-infrared (NIR) system. Hydrogen peroxide standards were prepared ranging from 0 to 25.6 w/w% and the NIR spectra of hydrogen peroxide standard solutions were collected by using a quartz cell in 1 mm pathlength. We found the variation of absorbance band due to OH vibration of hydrogen peroxide depending on the concentration around 1400 nm in the second derivatives spectra. Partial least square regression (PLSR) and multilinear regression (MLR) were explored to develop a calibration model over the spectral range 1100-1720 nm. The model using PLSR was better than that using MLR. The calibration showed good results with a standard error of prediction (SEP) of 0.16%. In order to validate the developed calibration model, routine analyses were performed using commercial antiseptic hydrogen peroxide solutions. The hydrogen peroxide values from the NIR calibration model were compared with the values from a redox titration method. The NIR routine analyses results showed good correlation with those of the redox titration method. This study showed that the rapid and non-destructive determination of hydrogen peroxide in the antiseptic solution was successfully performed by portable NIR system without very harmful solvents.

High sensitivity determination of iridium contents in ultra-basic rocks by INAA with coincidence gamma-ray detection

  • Very low contents (in the range of 10-9 g/g) of Ir in mantle-derived rock samples (komatiites) were non-destructively determined by INAA coupled with coincidence gamma-ray spectrometry using 16 Ge detectors. Aliquots of the same samples were analyzed by NiS fire-assay ICP-MS for Ir and other platinum group elements. Because the INAA procedure used in this study is non-destructive and is almost free from spectral interference in gamma-ray spectrometry, the INAA values of Ir contents obtained in this study can be highly reliable. Iridium values obtained by ICP-MS were consistent with the INAA values, implying that the ICP-MS values of Ir obtained in this study are equally reliable. Under the present experimental conditions, detection limits were estimated to be 1 pg/g, which corresponds to 0.1 pg for a sample mass of 0.1 g. These levels can be even lowered by an order of magnitude, if necessary, which cannot be achieved by ICP-MS carried out in this study.
