대평판 글라스 이송용 공기 부상 이송장치의 개발 (Development of the Air Floating Conveyor System for the Large Glass Sheet)

  • We have prepared a DEMO conveyor device for conveying a large 8G class glass sheet using ahorizontal air-cushion system. This device consists of the body frame and the driving frame that are combined to realize a frame for conveying glass without any contact.The driving frame comprises an air flotation table (bed), drive roller supported at both ends, and ASU. Part of the ASU serves to control the airflow as the chamber consists of a porous pad and fan. Fiber filters replace the porous pad and axial fans serve as an air compressor. In addition, to determine the appropriate glass levitation from the air table, this study examined the design specifications of the applied filter (discharge speed of HEPA and ULPA filters, and flow rate) as well as the height of the and the proper supporting roller height (14mm). Then, after adjusting the position of the ASU and the number of ASUs required to configure the UNIT air floating C/V, we analyzed the height and flatness of the glass and derived the appropriate layout (1140-mm distance between ASUs).

Non-Destructive Detection of Hertzian Contact Damage in Ceramics

  • An ultrasonic technique using normal-incident compressional waves was used to evaluate the surface and subsurface damage in ceramics produced by Hertzian indentation. Damage was produced by a blunt indenter (tungsten carbide ball) in glass-ceramic, green glass and silicon nitride. The damage was classified into two types; (1) Hertzian cone crack, in green glass and fine grain silicon nitride, and (2) distributed subsurface micro fractures, without surface damage, produced in glass ceramic. The ultrasonic technique was successful in detecting cone craks. The measurement results with the Hertzian cone cracks indicated that cracks perpendicular to the surface could be detected by the normal-incident compressional waws. Also shown is the capability of normal-incident compressional waves in detection distributed micro-sized cracks size of subsurface microfractures.

유리기판의 친수.소수 상태 변화를 이용한 자기정렬 Ag Pattern 형성 연구 (Self Assembled Patterns of Ag Using Hydrophobic and Hydrophilic Surface Characteristics of Glass)

  • 일반적인 포토리소그래피를 사용하지 않고 마이크로미터 혹은 나노미터 단위의 패턴형성을 위한 연구가 최근 많은 연구그룹에 의해 진행되고 있다. 본 실험에서는 패턴이 형성된 polydimelthylsiloxane (PDMS) 몰드를 octadecyltrichlorosilane (OTS) 용액에 dipping 하여 PDMS 표변에 OTS 단분자막을 형성하고 micro contact printing (${\mu}-CP$) 방법으로 OTS 단분자 막을 유리기판 표면위로 전사하였다. 전사된 OTS 단분자막은 친수성 유리기판 위에서 소수성 표면특성을 갖게 하며, 친수성은 용액 속에 dipping 하였을 때 소수성 표면 위에는 코팅되지 않도록 한 이 방법을 이용하여 유리기판 위에 Ag 패턴을 형성하였다. 또한, 세척직후 친수성 표면 특성을 보이는 유리기판의 시간에 따른 접촉각 측정을 통해 표면에너지의 변화를 분석하였다.

  • 우수한 광투과성 및 경도를 지닌 유리는 바이오, 전자, 광학 등의 분야에서 널리 활용되고 있다. 하지만, 유리는 경도가 높고 깨지기 쉬워 일반적으로 특수가공법을 이용하여 가공이 이루어진다. 그 중 레이저는 공구가 불필요하며 가공 속도가 빠르다는 장점을 지니고 있지만 유리의 높은 광투과성 때문에 가공에 적용하기에는 많은 제약이 따른다. 이에 저출력의 나노초 펄스 레이저로 유리 가공을 하기 위하여 간접가공법인 레이저 습식 후면 식각공정을 활용하고자 한다. 기존의 연구들에서는 흡수율이 뛰어난 고가의 단파장 레이저 장비를 주로 사용하였으나 본 연구에서는 범용적인 근적외선 레이저 장비를 활용하여 유리 구조물 제작의 가능성을 실험하였다. 특히 깊은 구조물 제작시 발생하는 문제점을 확인하고 이를 해결하기 위해 초음파 부가 공정을 통한 미세 구조물 제작을 수행하였다.

비접촉 토오크센서의 개발(I) (Development of Non-contact Torque Sensor)

  • A non-contact torque sensor was developed using amorphous alloy. The change of maixmum magnetic induction of C0-based amorphous alloy under the tensile and compressive stress was proportional to applied torque. For the construction of the torque sensor, a glass fiber reinforced-epoxy rod was used as shaft. The amorphous strips were attached on the epoxy shaft in the direction of $+45^{\circ}$and $-45^{\circ}$. The magnetizing coil and 2 sensing coil was installed. The static and dynamic test was carried out. The linearity and sensor hysteresis of the torque sensor was less than 1%.

대면적 FPD 글래스 수직 이송용 클린 비접촉식 컨베이어 구동부 설계 및 해석 (Design and Analysis of a Clean Non-contact type Conveyor's Driving Mechanism for Vertical Transfer of FPD Glass)

  • The clean non-contact type conveyor system for vertical transfer of large size FPD(Flat Panel Display) glasses has been installed at FPD production line just since a few years ago. The most important part of the conveyor is the 3 axis permanent magnet rollers faced orthogonally in pairs. However, the systematic design method about it has not been proposed yet. In this paper, we studied a design analysis for determining geometrical parameters of the magnetic roller by using a commercial FEM tool of the 3D Maxwell. Through a series of simulation, we obtained the relationship of several geometrical parameters affecting the torque of the conveyor.

유리 성형기의 무접점릴레이(SSR) 수명 예측장치 개발 (Development of Solid State Relay(SSR) Life Prediction Device for Glass Forming Machine)

  • This paper presents the design and manufacture of a Solid State Relay (SSR) life prediction device that can predict the lifetime of an SSR, which is a key component of a glass forming machine. The lifetime of an SSR is over when the current supplied to the relay is overcurrent (20 A or higher), and the operating time is 100,000 h or longer. Therefore, the life prediction device for the SSR was designed using DSP to accurately read the current and temperature values from the current and temperature sensors, respectively. The characteristic test of the manufactured non-contact relay life prediction device confirmed that the current and temperature were safely measured. Thus, the SSR lifetime prediction device developed in this study can be used to predict the lifetime of an SSR attached to a glass forming machine.

초음파 촉매 공정에서 주파수와 고정된 고체 촉매가 라디칼 생성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Frequency and Fixed Solid Catalyst for Radical Production in Sonocatalysis)

  • The fixed solid catalysts such as glass bead, steel mesh, and $TiO_2$ coated ceramic bead were used to investigate effect of radical production at different frequencies. The radical production rate at 300 kHz was faster than that at 35 kHz without solid, but the tendency was changed with the presence of glass bead. The presence of glass beads create non-continuous points between the solid and liquid phases leading to increased formation of cavitation bubbles. However, the radical production decreased when steel mesh was used at 35 kHz although the surface area of contact with liquid was same when glass bead was used. Hence the solid catalyst did not always enhance the radical production. The radical production using $TiO_2$ coated ceramic bead was dramatically increased at 35 kHz due to the breakage of $TiO_2$ coated ceramic bead. Therefore the radical productions at 300 kHz using fixed solid catalysts generally increased while at 35 kHz the results fluctuated according to the experimental conditions.

대면적 평판 디스플레이용 유리기판의 처짐 측정장치 개발 (Development of Measurement System for Deflection of the Large-Size FPD)

  • There is a need to enlarge the mother glass substrate in OLED to raise its productivity and to realize OLED TV. On the other hand, some difficulties may arise regarding the deflection of a large glass substrate during its handling operation due to its thinness $(0.5\sim0.7t)$, which is not even enough to allow it to stand its own mass. This thesis proposes a conceptual plan for the application of the clamping- and bending-end conditions to the glass substrate handler. To verify proposed plan, the non-contact 3 dimensional measuring instrument is developed. The composition of the 3 dimensional measuring instrument measures shape of the product using X-Y stage robot and laser distance sensor. X-Y stage robot and laser distance sensor are controlled by LabVIEW language. To calibrate measuring instrument, the direction conversion of the Euler angle was used. In order to confirm deflection of the glass substrate, the experiment was carried out at the bending end boundary condition and the proposed effect was verified.

태양광 모듈 오염 방지를 위한 발수 코팅 물질에 대한 연구 (Research on Water-Repellent Coating Materials to Prevent Solar Module Pollution )

  • Currently, the most developed new energy source is solar energy. Because solar power is installed outside, it is exposed to many pollutants. Pollutants are causing the characteristics of solar energy to deteriorate. Therefore, this study aims to develop a water-repellent coating to prevent contamination of solar modules. Silica and Titania materials are mainly used as water-repellent coating materials. In this study, it was based on silica and the contact angle characteristics were measured according to the change in the amount of silica and ammonia water added and the number of coatings. As a result of the measurement, it was confirmed that the contact angle was more than 60 degrees when 0.5 mol of TEOS was added to 50 mL and 0.15 M when 1 mL of ammonia water was added to 296.47 ml of distilled water. And it was confirmed that the contact angle improved when the number of coatings was applied twice. A water-repellent coating material was applied to low iron tempered glass used to protect dye-sensitized solar cell modules. The characteristics of the module were measured after spraying DI-Water on low-emission tempered glass with a water-repellent coating. As a result of the measurement, the efficiency of the module without application, the efficiency of the module coated once, and the module coated twice were 4.87%, 4.90%, and 4.91%, respectively. It was confirmed that the efficiency of the module increased by applying water-repellent coating. As a result of this study, it is determined that the water-repellent coating material will help improve solar power generation efficiency and lifespan by being self-cleaning and non-reflective.
