  • In the cluster mechanism of the wireless sensor network, the network lifetime is affected by how cluster heads are selected. One of the representative clustering mechanisms, the low-energy adaptive clustering hierarchy (LEACH), selects cluster heads periodically, resulting in high energy consumption in cluster reconstruction. On the other hand, the adaptive clustering algorithm via waiting timer (ACAWT) proposes a non-periodic re-clustering mechanism that reconstructs clusters if the remaining energy level of a cluster head reaches a given threshold. In this paper, we propose a re-clustering mechanism that uses multiple remaining node energy levels and does re-clustering when the remaining energy level of a cluster head reaches one level lower. Also, in determining cluster heads, both of the number of neighbor nodes and the remaining energy level are considered so that cluster heads can be more evenly placed. From the simulations based on the Qualnet simulator, we validate that our proposed mechanism outperforms ACAWT in terms of the network lifetime.

  • Speaker diarization is the task of determining the speakers for unlabeled data, and DBSCAN (Density-Based Spatial Clustering of Applications with Noise) has been widely used in the field of speaker diarization for its simplicity and computational efficiency. One challenging issue, however, is that if different clusters in non-spatial dataset are adjacent to each other, over-clustering may occur which subsequently degrades the performance of DBSCAN. In this paper, we identify the drawbacks of DBSCAN and propose a new density clustering algorithm based on local distribution property around object. Variable density criterions for local density and spreadness of object are used for effective data clustering. We compare the proposed algorithm to DBSCAN in terms of clustering accuracy. Experimental results confirm that the proposed algorithm exhibits higher accuracy than DBSCAN without over-clustering and confirm that the new approach based on local density and object spreadness is efficient.

  • This paper propose a clustered algorithm that possible more efficient COVID-19 disease learning prediction within clustering using context-aware attribute information. In typically, clustering of COVID-19 diseases provides to classify interrelationships within disease cluster information in the clustering process. The clustering data will be as a degrade factor if new or newly processing information during treated as contaminated factors in comparative interrelationships information. In this paper, we have shown the solving the problems and developed a clustering algorithm that can extracting disease correlation information in using K-means algorithm. According to their attributes from disease clusters using accumulated information and interrelationships clustering, the proposed algorithm analyzes the disease correlation clustering possible and centering points. The proposed algorithm showed improved adaptability to prediction accuracy of the classification management system in terms of learning as a group of multiple disease attribute information of COVID-19 through the applied simulation results.

  • There are many types of clustering algorithms such as centroid, hierarchical, or density-based methods. Each algorithm has unique data grouping principles, which creates different varieties of clusters. Ordering Points To Identify the Clustering Structure (OPTICS) is a well-known density-based algorithm to analyze arbitrary shaped and varying density clusters, but the obtained clusters only correlate loosely. Hierarchical agglomerative clustering (HAC) reveals a hierarchical structure of clusters, but is unable to clearly find non-convex shaped clusters. In this paper, we provide a novel hierarchy generation framework and application which can aid users by combining the advantages of the two clustering methods.

  • Advances in wireless sensor network (WSN) technology have enabled small and low-cost sensors with the capability of sensing various types of physical and environmental conditions, data processing, and wireless communication. In the WSN, the sensor nodes have a limited transmission range and their processing and storage capabilities as well as their energy resources are limited. A triple umpiring system has already been proved for its better performance in WSNs. The clustering technique is effective in prolonging the lifetime of the WSN. In this study, we have modified the ad-hoc on demand distance vector routing by incorporating signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) based dynamic clustering. The proposed scheme, which is an efficient and secure routing protocol for wireless sensor networks through SNR-based dynamic clustering (ESRPSDC) mechanisms, can partition the nodes into clusters and select the cluster head (CH) among the nodes based on the energy, and non CH nodes join with a specific CH based on the SNR values. Error recovery has been implemented during the inter-cluster routing in order to avoid end-to-end error recovery. Security has been achieved by isolating the malicious nodes using sink-based routing pattern analysis. Extensive investigation studies using a global mobile simulator have shown that this hybrid ESRP significantly improves the energy efficiency and packet reception rate as compared with the SNR unaware routing algorithms such as the low energy aware adaptive clustering hierarchy and power efficient gathering in sensor information systems.

  • A fast and efficient search algorithm to determine an optimal number of clusters in clustering algorithms is presented. The method is based on cluster validity index which is a measure for clustering optimality. As the clustering procedure progresses and reaches an optimal cluster configuration, the cluster validity index is expected to be minimized or maximized. In this Paper, a fast non-exhaustive search method for finding the optimal number of clusters is designed and shown to work well in clustering. The proposed algorithm is implemented with the k-mean++ algorithm as underlying clustering techniques using CB and PBM as a cluster validity index. Experimental results show that the proposed method provides the computation time efficiency without loss of accuracy on several artificial and real-life data sets.

  • Clustering analysis has been widely used in numerous applications like pattern recognition, data analysis, intrusion detection, image processing, bioinformatics and so on. Much of previous work has been based on the numeric data only. However, symbolic data analysis has emerged to deal with variables that can have intervals, histograms, and even functions as values. In this paper, we propose a non symmetric proximity based clustering approach for symbolic objects. A method for clustering symbolic patterns based on the average similarity value(ASV) is explored. The results of the proposed clustering method differ from those of the existing methods and the results are very encouraging.

  • The concept of privacy-preserving collaborative filtering (PPCF) has been gaining significant attention. Due to the fact that model-based recommendation methods with privacy are more efficient online, privacy-preserving memory-based scheme should be avoided in favor of model-based recommendation methods with privacy. Several studies in the current literature have examined ant colony clustering algorithms that are based on non-privacy collaborative filtering schemes. Nevertheless, the literature does not contain any studies that consider privacy in the context of ant colony clustering-based CF schema. This study employed the ant colony clustering model-based PPCF scheme. Attacks like shilling or profile injection could potentially be successful against privacy-preserving model-based collaborative filtering techniques. Afterwards, the scheme's robustness was assessed by conducting a shilling attack using six different attack models. We utilize masked data-based profile injection attacks against a privacy-preserving ant colony clustering-based prediction algorithm. Subsequently, we conduct extensive experiments utilizing authentic data to assess its robustness against profile injection attacks. In addition, we evaluate the resilience of the ant colony clustering model-based PPCF against shilling attacks by comparing it to established PPCF memory and model-based prediction techniques. The empirical findings indicate that push attack models exerted a substantial influence on the predictions, whereas nuke attack models demonstrated limited efficacy.

  • In fuzzy modeling for nonlinear process, the fuzzy rules are typically formed by selection of the input variables, the number of space division and membership functions. The Generation of fuzzy rules for nonlinear processes have the problem that the number of fuzzy rules exponentially increases. To solve this problem, complex nonlinear process can be modeled by generating the fuzzy rules by means of fuzzy division of input space. Therefore, in this paper, rules of non-fuzzy inference systems are generated by partitioning the input space in the scatter form using HCM clustering algorithm. The premise parameters of the rules are determined by membership matrix by means of HCM clustering algorithm. The consequence part of the rules is represented in the form of polynomial functions and the consequence parameters of each rule are identified by the standard least-squares method. And lastly, we evaluate the performance and the nonlinear characteristics using the data widely used in nonlinear process. Through this experiment, we showed that high-dimensional nonlinear systems can be modeled by a very small number of rules.
