The DOR (Drainage outlet raising) in the paddy field has been suggested as one of the most important best management practices for the TMDL (Total maximum daily load) management in the technical guidelines by the NIER (National institute of environmental research). However, this method is underestimated and is not well adopted by local governments for the TMDL. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the unit load reduction equation according to the application of DOR in order to expand this equation. The original equation in the guideline was derived using the HSPF (Hydrological Simulation Program-Fortran) model for 1 year in Changnyeong. We analyzed the reduction effect of the original equation application by collecting additional long-term monitoring data from the Buan, Icheon, Iksan, and Jeonju. When comparing the reduction loads between the original equation and monitoring results, the evaluation results of the original equation were 11% of the monitoring analysis results, which was underestimated. This means that the original equation needs to be improved. For assessing the equation, the HSPF Paddy-RCH model was established according to the NI ER guideline and evaluated for applicability. The performance results of the model showed a reasonable range by the statistical criteria. Modified equations 1 and 2 were proposed based on the monitoring and modeling results. Modified equation 1 was the method of modifying the original equation's main factors, and modified equation 2 was the method of applying the non-point pollution reduction efficiency according to the rainfall class using the long-term modeling results. At the level of 58.6~64.6% of monitoring data, the difference between them could be further reduced compared to the original equation. The suggested approach will be more reasonable and practicable for decision-makers and will contribute to the TMDL management plans.

In several schistosomiasis-endemic countries, the prevalence has remained high in some areas owing to reinfection despite repeated mass drug administration (MDA) interventions; these areas are referred to as persistent hot spots. Identifying hotspots is critical for interrupting transmission. This study aimed to determine an effective means of identifying persistent hot spots. First, we investigated the differences between Schistosoma haematobium and Schistosoma mansoni prevalence among school-aged children (SAC) estimated by a community-based survey, for which local key informants purposively selected communities, and a randomly sampled school-based survey. A total of 6,225 individuals residing in 60 villages in 8 districts of North Kordofan, Blue Nile, or Sennar States, Sudan participated in a community-based survey in March 2018. Additionally, the data of 3,959 students attending 71 schools in the same 8 districts were extracted from a nationwide school-based survey conducted in January 2017. The community-based survey identified 3 districts wherein the prevalence of S. haematobium or S. mansoni infection among SAC was significantly higher than that determined by the randomly sampled school survey (e.g., S. haematobium in the Sennar district: 10.8% vs. 1.1%, P<0.001). At the state level, the prevalence of schistosomiasis among SAC, as determined by the community-based survey, was consistently significantly higher than that determined by the school-based survey. Purposeful selection of villages or schools based on a history of MDA, latrine coverage, open defecation, and the prevalence of bloody urine improved the ability for identifying persistent hot spots.

In this study, we optimized the FNLM algorithm through a simulation study and applied it to a phantom scanned by low-dose CT to evaluate whether the FNLM algorithm can be used to obtain improved image quality images. We optimized the FNLM algorithm with MASH phantom and FASH phantom, which the algorithm was applied with MATLAB, increasing the smoothing factor from 0.01 to 0.05 with increments of 0.001 and measuring COV, RMSE, and PSNR values of the phantoms. For both phantom, COV and RMSE decreased, and PSNR increased as the smoothing factor increased. Based on the above results, we optimized a smoothing factor value of 0.043 for the FNLM algorithm. Then we applied the optimized FNLM algorithm to low dose lung CT and lung CT under normal conditions. In both images, the COV decreased by 55.33 times and 5.08 times respectively, and we confirmed that the quality of the image of low dose CT applying the optimized FNLM algorithm was 5.08 times better than the image of lung CT under normal conditions. In conclusion, we found that the smoothing factor of 0.043 among the factors of the FNLM algorithm showed the best results and validated the performance by reducing the noise in the low-quality CT images due to low dose with the optimized FNLM algorithm.

Marketing strategy of company identity is to visualize a company's intentions, to formalize its motto, slogan or culture, to build up trust of products and the company in consumers, and then, to have the consumers forever. By the virtue of development of www in 1990s, the media has been expanded to online. Development of www has united the world into a network and the market has been changed to unlimited competition. This paper intends to define the concept and characteristics of web identity and investigates and analyzes how web sites of sports shoes express their identities. In addition, it analyzes influences of multinational companies' web identifies (in Korean version) and of local companies' web identities on local consumers. Through survey, it will analyze the effects of web identity and review its operation.
Traditional music not only reveals Korean culture to foreigners but also it enhances the pride of national identity for Koreans themselves. Objectives of this study are how can we encourage and appreciate traditional music to ordinary visitors (non-musicians). Music festivals could be a means to educate and captivate them towards the appreciation of Korean traditional music. For this purpose, this study checked the satisfaction level between local residents and domestic visitors(including foreigners) concerning music festival programs, and also proposed a practical implications to traditional music organizers. According to the result, local visitors' satisfaction level were higher than other domestic visitors. Visitors showed higher interest in the music instruments like a 'Gayageum' they are able to relate to, rather than with other traditional unfamiliar musical instruments. It is thus crucial to encourage students and ordinary citizens to interact with traditional music instruments so as to enhance the satisfaction levels of domestic visitors. Some practical implications for traditional music organizers are that it is recommendable to have more guides who have thorough knowledge of traditional Korean music and who is able to interpret festival programs in foreign languages for foreign visitors.
This study examined the population movement of the young generation in accordance with the characteristics of housing market focusing on the housing problem of youth issues. Targeting 64 local governments in the seoul metropolitan area, the temporal range was decided as 2015. Setting up the rising population in 19-34 as a dependent variable, supposing that each age group shows different characteristics, it was divided into age groups in 19~34, 19~29, and 25~34. The population movement of the young generation in accordance with the characteristics of housing market was considered through the multiple regression analysis. In the results, the population movement of the young generation was influenced by the change in detached multi-family housing and the rate of housing supply. The increase of detached multi-family housing promoted the population inflow of the young generation while the population movement of the young generation was disturbed by the rising rate of housing supply. Also, when the local characteristics are not controlled, the young generation hesitates to enter the region where relatively high rent should be paid while the new housing supply focusing on apartment is hard to be selected by the young generation for residence because of the size and price. The population movement of the young generation looked quite different in each age group. The population inflow of the young generation in 19~29 was influenced when there were many officetels and non-apartments on top of detached multi-family housing. On the contrary, the population movement of the young generation in 25~34 was significantly influenced by the increase of the whole size of completed apartment area. Even though it was not the research subject of this study, among control variables, the financial independence and daily average number of get-on/off had effects on the movement of the young generation. It means that the housing type preferred by college students and social novices is different from the housing type preferred by the group with experiences in marriage and childbirth within the same young generation. Thus, it would be necessary to divide the purposes of policies for each subject when executing the youth housing policies.
The studies related to the price of artworks have focused on how factors that are determined on production level, such as artists and the artwork materials of the studies, affect the artwork prices. As 'Dansekhwa' is in the spotlight within local Korean art auction matket, this study would like to analyze the trend of the price changes of 'Dansekhwa' with its growing popularity among the public. We have estimated the price changes based on 4,199 auction data of 20 artists with top 20 auction prices selected by the Korean Art Price Appraisal Association, between 2005 and 2016. Also, in order to compare and analyze the price changes of the 'Dansekhwa' products, we have classified the 20 artists into groups of Dansekhwa and non-Dansekhwa. Starting from 2013, when Dansekhwa has first appeared, we applied the Difference in the Difference model(DiD) to estimate the result. As a result, the difference between two groups showed 71% of price difference due to the increase in popularity of Dansekhwa. This result proves that recognition level has an important role for increase in price of an artwork. Moreover, the fact that the formalized style of Dansekhwa has linked to the appreciation of the price means that production of information could play an essential role in growth of art market. As recognition level of Korean artists and their artworks is considerably low within the local art market, putting in the effort to increase the popularity of artworks among the public might be a helpful way to magnify the potential demand.

This research is primarily intended to develop a decision-making support system about the natural environment in the country by integrating various formats of spatial data into a comprehensive GIS database. The first part of the research is to design GIS database as a means of combining thematic cartographic data with field survey records. Ecosystem records acquired by a field sampling have been reproduced as digital thematic maps. The database also included various natural environment related data (map for forestry, soil, national park etc.) collected from many other agencies. The second part of the research is devoted to the design of efficient man-machine interfaces. A key concern in the GUI (graphic user interface) design process was to address the need to handle and to manage large databases by non-GIS experts. The system has been checked experimentally, enabled the users to quarry the data required simply and execute spatial analysis accommodating versatile alternatives in decision-making process. Detailed visual maps can be generated over large areas quickly and easily. The system will serve to increase the scientific and objective decision-making by overcoming serious constraints suffered from the past non-GIS-based approach. It is anticipated that this research output could be used as a valuable reference in building a nationwide natural environment GIS-DB (database) in the central and local governments.
The Buddhist costumes, unlike the ordinary ones, have not been studied comprehensively due to their religious, non-popular and non-social features. In this regard, this paper aimed at reviewing the styles and symbolic Characters of the monks' dancing costumes for the traditional Buddhist ceremony of 'Spirit Vulture Peak'(The Intangible Cultural Asset No.50.) Here, the 'Spirit Vulture Peak Ceremony' is a kind of Buddhist ceremony commemorating the Buddha's preaches on the peak of Mt. Grdhrakuta by means of symbolized ritual and reformation procedures. The methodology of this study depended on the research of literatures, personal observation of the actual ceremony and the discussion with Priest Park Song-am. The dancing style of the Ceremony can be divided into four categories; the cymbal dancing., the drum dancing , the butterfly dancing and the column-beating dancing. And for the dancing costumes, the loose ritual mantle, the long-sleeve robe and the buddhist costume are used; the loose mantle and the long-sleeve robe are for the drum dancing. The style of the loose mantle is rectangular, sewn every odd knot between 5 and 25 ones. According to the record, its color was initially grey or red-yellow, but varied depending on the local rules. The four corners of the loose mantle have a rectangular-cloth embroidery of sky & king patterns, and the center is embroidered with the Sun'Moon designs or 'Om/Nan' letters in the Korean spells. The light of Sun/ Moon designs symbolizing the sky and the earth respectively are indigenous to a particular school in Korea. The long-sleeve robe has a traditional over-coat style. and is called otherwise of if some design is added. The total clothing or dancing costumes for the Ceremony include 'the Dae-ryung (meaning great peake)loose mantle', 'the White Paldad(meaning Chinese Character eight) long-sleeve robe and the peaked hat. The Dae-ryung mantle is a kind of ritual costumes with the shorter length than the ordinary mantles, and has a character 'Ryung' in Chinese spell attached with three to six colors. The White Paldae robe is shorter than the ordinary robes in the total length but longer in the length of sleeves. It is put on over the mantle from the left shoulder, and used often for the butterfly and column-beating dancings. It is hoped that this study will promote the study on the customs and rites of the Buddhism rather than on the thoughts, and contribute to the further studies.
The objective of this study was to investigate the existence of starting point bias in the bidding game contingent valuation elicitation technique when determining willingness to pay (WTP) for improving the qualify of running water in Seoul and its vicinity. Of all existing contingent techniques, the bidding game most closely mimics the normal price taking behavior in local markets. Three different starting points (low, medium and high) were used to determine WTP and the existence of starting point bias in the meanwhile respectively. The respondents were randomly assigned to the three different starting point groups in order to ensure homogeneity, so that any variation seen in WTP could be attributed to the starting point effects. And a pretested interviewer-administered questionnaire used to elicit WTP. Non-parametric test and the logit model were used to analyze the data for evidence of starting point bias. In this instance, the high starting point group had a high WTP, and low starting point group had a low WTP. This means there exist starting point bias in estimating WTP by bidding game in this instance. This finding might signal that people may actually be making up their minds on the maximum amount they are willing to pay for running water service as a bidding iterating is going on and is influenced by the starting point used in the bidding game. The problem of slaking point bias can be avoided if the respondent is asked directly for the maximum WTP without payment cards or a bidding game. But such a question is perceived as being very difficult to answer and this leads to problems of non-response and being unrealistic.
