Due to the development of technology related to a weapon system and the info-communication, the battle system of a warship has to manage many kinds of human intervention tactics according to the complicated battlefield environment. Therefore, many kinds of studies about M&S(Modeling & Simulation) have been carried out recently. The previous M&S system based on an agent, however, has simply used non-flexible(or fixed) tactics. In this paper, we propose an agent modeling methodology which has reinforcement learning function for spontaneous(active) reaction and generation evolution learning Function using Genetic Algorithm for more proper reaction for warship battle. We experiment with virtual 1:1 warship combat simulation on the west sea so as to test validity of our proposed methodology. We consequently show the possibility of both reinforcement and evolution learning in a warship battle.
Recently, there are active studies on a forward collision warning system to prevent the accidents and improve convenience of drivers. For collision evasion, the vehicle detection system is required. In general, existing learning-based vehicle detection methods use the entire appearance of the vehicles from rear-view images, so that each vehicle types should be learned separately since they have distinct rear-view appearance regarding the types. To overcome such shortcoming, we learn Haar-like features from the lower part of the vehicles which contain tail lights to detect vehicles leveraging the fact that the lower part is consistent regardless of vehicle types. As a verification procedure, we detect tail lights to distinguish actual vehicles and non-vehicles. If candidates are too small to detect the tail lights, we use HOG(Histogram Of Gradient) feature and SVM(Support Vector Machine) classifier to reduce false alarms. The proposed forward vehicle detection method shows accuracy of 95% even in the complicated images with many buildings by the road, regardless of vehicle types.
Many immunostimulating substances have been developed to improve immunity of domestic animals, although their exact mode of action and effects are not clearly defined, and they are now widely used in feed industry. Bacterial lipopolysaccharides, called endotoxin, in particular may have a profound effect not only on the immune system but also on macrophages of the reticuloendothelial system. Glucans from a variety of yeast cell wall have been shown to stimulate both specific and non-specific immune responses and to increase growth performance in pigs. Recently, there has been great interest in the role of complex carbohydrates in disease prevention and treatment. Mannanoligosaccharide is a glucomannoprotein complex derived from the cell wall of yeast. Generally, it was also known that the deficiencies of some major vitamins (vitamin A, E and C) and minerals (chromium and selenium) lead to impaired immune system and, as a result, immune function is depressed and recovery delayed. On the other hand, many researchers suggested that one possible reason for the superior performance observed in pigs fed plasma protein may be because of the presence of biologically active plasma proteins (e.g., immunoglobulins) which are known to contribute to the health of the starter pig. And, immunoglobulins present in plasma protein have been implicated as contributing to the overall immunocompetence of the newborn pig. Other immunostimulants, lactoferrin and lysozyme, mainly found in milk and egg white, have been known as having bacteriocidal and bacteriolytic effect. When considering practical use of immunostimulants, the concept of using immunostimulants is new to many people and, in most cases, it is poorly understood how and why such compounds act, and how they should be used in practice. Therefore, in order to clarify the reason for discrepancies in results, special attention should be paid to the dose/response relationship of immunostimulants and the duration of the effect.
Recently, there are many active studies to enhance low I/O performance of hard disk device. The studies on the hardware make good progress whereas those of the system software to enhance I/O performance may not support the hardware performance due to its poor progress. In this paper, we propose a new method of prefetching n-blocks into the flash memory. The proposed method consists of three steps: (1)analyzing the pattern of read requests in block units; (2)determining the number of blocks prefetched to flash memory; (3)replacing blocks according to block replacement policy. The proposed method can reduce the latency time of hard disk and optimize the power consumption of the computer system. Experimental results show that the proposed dynamic n-block method provides better average response time than that of the existing AMP(Adaptive multi stream prefetching) method by 9.05% and reduces the average power consumption than that of the existing AMP method by 11.11%.

With emphasis on environmentally safe and sustainable and economically sound and oriented to consumer, this study intends to assess the consumer's cognition and attitudes for safe food distribution, to investigate the supplying system of the organic farm products, to survey the consumer and life cooperatives dealing with organic farm products, and to draw some implications toward environment- and consumer-oriented agriculture. Related literatures and available documents were reviewed to conceptualize the environmental-and consumer-oriented agriculture and consumer and life cooperatives, to grasp the nationwide status of such alternative agriculture and consumer cooperatives, and investigate the consumers' cognition and attitude. In order to investigate the consumers' needs for organic farm products and to grasp the active consumer and life cooperatives dealing with organic farm products, questionnaire method and non-structured interview were applied. The environment-and consumer-oriented agriculture refers hero to the farming system in which any farm food and other living products giving no harm to human and livestock health and catering the consumers' need. The consumer and life cooperatives is consumer's group buying and selling organic farm products organized in the cooperative system with which any consumer can be affiliated to buy organic farm products safely and reasonably.

The following improvement plans are suggested in this study to facilitate implementing a pilot project for building a disaster resistant community organized by the National Emergency Management Agency in 2008, and ultimately to expand the project nation-wide. Regarding legislative aspects, legal grounds should be established such as devising a new clause in the Counter Measure for Natural Disaster for assigning a disaster resistant community or city, and devising a tentatively named "Act for Disaster Resistant Community Project" as a local governance regulation. Regarding administrative aspects, a project master plan focused on active participation of the local residents should be designed. Moreover, a certain amount of the project budget should be alloted not only to structural contents but also to non-structural contents. Regarding organizational aspects, an education program for training local disaster prevention leaders should be actively promoted and a local disaster prevention governance system should also be established among official and inofficial local organizations. Furthermore a preemptive consulting system with disaster prevention experts as well as an evaluation system to monitor the project implementation process should be introduced.

The continuous increase in the cost of energy production and concerns for environmental sustainability are leading research communities, governments and industries to amass efforts to reduce energy consumption and global $CO_2$ footprint. Players in the information and communication industry are keen on reducing the operational expenditures (OpEx) and maintaining the profitability of cellular networks. Meanwhile, network virtualization has been proposed in this regard as the main enabler for 5G mobile cellular networks. In this paper, we propose a generic framework of slice resource provisioning and customized physical resource allocation for energy-efficiency and quality of service optimization. In resource slicing, we consider user demand and population resources provisioning scheme aiming to satisfy quality of service (QoS). In customized physical resource allocation, we formulate this problem with an integer non-linear programming model, which is solved by a heuristic algorithm based on minimum vertex coverage. The proposed algorithm is compared with the existing approaches, without consideration of slice resource constraints via system-level simulations. From the perspective of infrastructure providers, traffic is scheduled over a limited number of active small-cell base stations (sc-BSs) that significantly reduce the system energy consumption and improve the system's spectral efficiency. From the perspective of virtual network operators and mobile users, the proposed approach can guarantee QoS for mobile users and improve user satisfaction.
Neutral and non-essential amino acid, glutamine (Gln), plays an essential role in supplying nitrogen to all the amino acids and nucleotides in the mammalian body. Gln is also the most important carbon source that provides intermediates for gluconeogenesis and fatty acid synthesis and supplements the tricarboxylic acid cycle in fast-growing cancer cells. Among the known 14 Gln transporter genes, soluted carrier family 1 member 5 (SLC1A5) has been reported to be closely associated with cancer cell growth. Three variants (v1, v2, and v3) have been derived from SLC1A5. Here, we established a heterologous gene expression system for the active form of human SLC1A5 variant-2 (hSLC1A5v2) in Escherichia coli. v2 is the smallest variant that has not yet been studied. Four expression systems were investigated: pBAD, pCold, pET, and pQE. We also addressed the problem of codon usage bias. Although pCold and pET overexpressed hSLC1A5v2 in E. coli, they were functionally inactive. hSLC1A5v2 using the pBAD system was able to catalyze the successful transport of Gln, even if it was not highly expressed. Initial activity of hSLC1A5v2 for [14C] Gln uptake in E. coli reached up to 6.73 μmole·min-1·gDW-1 when the cell was induced with 80 mM L-arabinose. In this study, we demonstrated a heterologous expression system for the human membrane protein, SLC1A5, in E. coli. Our results can be used for the functional comparison of SLC1A5 variants (v1, v2, and v3) in future studies, to facilitae the developement of SLC1A5 inhibitors as effective anticancer drugs.
In recent years, an increasing number of experimental studies have shown that the practical application of mature active control systems requires consideration of robustness criteria in the design process, including the reduction of tracking errors, operational resistance to external disturbances, and measurement noise, as well as robustness and stability. Good uncertainty prediction is thus proposed to solve problems caused by poor parameter selection and to remove the effects of dynamic coupling between degrees of freedom (DOF) in nonlinear systems. To overcome the stability problem, this study develops an advanced adaptive predictive fuzzy controller, which not only solves the programming problem of determining system stability but also uses the law of linear matrix inequality (LMI) to modify the fuzzy problem. The following parameters are used to manipulate the fuzzy controller of the robotic system to improve its control performance. The simulations for system uncertainty in the controller design emphasized the use of acceleration feedback for practical reasons. The simulation results also show that the proposed H∞ controller has excellent performance and reliability, and the effectiveness of the LMI-based method is also recognized. Therefore, this dynamic control method is suitable for seismic protection of civil buildings. The objectives of this document are access to adequate, safe, and affordable housing and basic services, promotion of inclusive and sustainable urbanization, implementation of sustainable disaster-resilient construction, sustainable planning, and sustainable management of human settlements. Simulation results of linear and non-linear structures demonstrate the ability of this method to identify structures and their changes due to damage. Therefore, with the continuous development of artificial intelligence and fuzzy theory, it seems that this goal will be achieved in the near future.

The technology of microbubbles and nanobubbles originated in Japan and Europe is applicable to various applications and its effects are diverse, attracting attention not only from many researchers but also from industry experts. In particular, nanobubbles have the advantage that they can be applied to products in the form of liquids, such as cosmetics, from the study that they can exist for more than several months in water. In this study, it was carried out the production of nanobubbles using bubble encapsulation technique and the experiment of skin permeability enhancement of active substances in cosmetics using nanobubble techniquethree. Nanobubbles were confirmed to affect the skin permeability increase of active substances, and up to 250% increase in skin permeability compared to non-bubbles-free materials(Caffeic acid, at 8 hour). It is expected that research results and industrial ripple effects can be expected not only in the cosmetic field, but also in fields applicable to the improvement of permeability by nanobubble techniques, such as areas related to drug delivery system.
