According to the analysis of special medical examination and work environment monitoring data, the rate of C1 and D1 on noise hazard exceeded 90% among those of total hazardous factors. The rate of company exceeding noise exposure limit was also more than 90%. The analysis result shows that main ages diagnosed with C1 and D1 was age of 50s. The majority scale company having workers diagnosed with C1 and D1 was the companies employing 5~49 workers. Types of industries which have a large number of companies exceeding noise exposure limit were automobile and trailer manufacturing, metal processing industry and primary metal manufacturing. A large number of work processes exceeding noise exposure limit were forming and processing work, cutting and bending work and grinding. To reduce the number of company exceeding noise exposure limit, the reduction counterplan should be focused on the type of industry and the work process which exceeded noise exposure limit frequently. However, the reduction counterplan is preemptively necessary to the type of industry and the work process which exceeded noise exposure limit consecutively if the purpose of reduction counterplan is not to merely reduce the number of company exceeding noise exposure limit but to abate workers' suffering from noise.

This paper investigates the non-intrusive speech intelligibility estimation method in noise environments when the bottleneck feature of autoencoder is used as an input to a neural network. The bottleneck feature-based method has the problem of severe performance degradation when the noise environment is changed. In order to overcome this problem, we propose a novel non-intrusive speech intelligibility estimation method that adds the noise environment information along with bottleneck feature to the input of long short-term memory (LSTM) neural network whose output is a short-time objective intelligence (STOI) score that is a standard tool for measuring intrusive speech intelligibility with reference speech signals. From the experiments in various noise environments, the proposed method showed improved performance when the noise environment is same. In particular, the performance was significant improved compared to that of the conventional methods in different environments. Therefore, we can conclude that the method proposed in this paper can be successfully used for estimating non-intrusive speech intelligibility in various noise environments.
The noise emitted from an excavator has long been a cause of environmental disputes, while causing displeasure to the nearby residents. So, the ministry of environment adopted the construction machinery noise labeling system to encourage the construction machinery manufacturing companies to develop the low noise construction machinery voluntarily. But, as the quality of life improves, a growing number of people desire the comfortable and quite environment to live in. Under the situation, noise from the construction machinery has been a major cause for stress and complaints. When the noise dispute happened in the construction site, the sound pressure level of the construction machinery like a excavator was measured at the lot boundary of the noise victim's residence to judge how much noise damage occur. But the sound pressure level of the construction machinery is measured differently according to the acoustic environment of construction site and the measuring position, respectively, which makes it difficulty to judge whether the noise damage occur or not. As the sound power level of noise source is not affected by the acoustic environment of construction site and the measuring position, if we use the information of the sound power level, it will be easy to judge whether the noise damage occur and to establish the soundproofing measures. Therefore, we derive the sound power level regression model of the excavator to judge whether the noise emitted from the excavator damages to residents near the construction site. Also, the sound power level regression model of the excavator drawn in this paper will help construction companies to plan the noise reduction program in the construction sites.
In high-speed railway (HSR) system, the structure-borne noise inside viaduct at low frequency has been extensively investigated for its mitigation as a research hotspot owing to its harm to the nearby residents. This study proposed a novel acoustic optimization method for declining the structure-borne noise in viaduct-like structures by separating the acoustic contribution of each structural component in the measured acoustic field. The structural vibration and related acoustic sourcing, propagation, and radiation characteristics for the viaduct box girder under passing vehicle loading are studied by incorporating Finite Element Method (FEM) with Modal Acoustic Vector (MAV) analysis. Based on the Modal Acoustic Transfer Vector (MATV), the structural vibration mode that contributes maximum to the structure-borne noise shall be hereinafter filtered for the acoustic radiation. With vibration mode shapes, the locations of maximum amplitudes for being ribbed to mitigate the structure-borne noise are then obtained, and the structure-borne noise mitigation performance shall be eventually analyzed regarding to the ribbing conduction. The results demonstrate that the structural vibration and structure-borne noise of the viaduct box girder mainly occupy both in the range within 100 Hz, and the dominant frequency bands both are [31.5, 80] Hz. The peak frequency for the structure-borne noise of the viaduct box girder is mainly caused by $16^{th}$ and $62^{th}$ vibration modes; these two mode shapes mainly reflect the local vibration of the wing plate and top plate. By introducing web plate at the maximum amplitude of main mode shapes that contribute most to the acoustic modal contribution factors, the acoustic pressure peaks at the field-testing points are hereinafter obviously declined, this implies that the structure-borne noise mitigation performance is relatively promising for the viaduct.
The expansion joints are installed for connecting the bridge segments. The ambient noise expansion joints are required in domestic market because of regulation on the noise neighboring traffic roads established by ministry of environment. Therefore, field tests for measuring environment noise depending on the types of the expansion joints are carried out in order to examine the effect of expansion joints into the environments. Related geometrical analysis has been performed.
This paper proposes fast speaker adaptation method using artificially distorted speech in telematics terminal under the car noise environment based on eigenspace-based maximum likelihood linear regression (ES-MLLR). The artificially distorted speech is built from adding the various car noise signals collected from a driving car to the speech signal collected from an idling car. Then, in every environment, the transformation matrix is estimated by ES-MLLR using the artificially distorted speech corresponding to the specific noise environment. In test mode, an online model is built by weighted sum of the environment transformation matrices depending on the driving condition. In 3k-word recognition task in the telematics terminal, we achieve a performance superior to ES-MLLR even using the adaptation data collected from the driving condition.
Ambient noise as a background noise in the ocean has been well known for its the various and irregular signal characteristics. Generally, these signals we treated as noise and they are analyzed through stochastical level if they don't include definite sinusoidal signals. This study is to see how ocean ambient noise can be analyzed by the chaotic analysis technique. The chaotic analysis is carried out with underwater ambient noise obtained in areas near the Korean Peninsula. The calculated physical parameters of time series signal are as follows: histogram, self-correlation coefficient, delay time, frequency spectrum, sonogram, return map, embedding dimension, correlation dimension, Lyapunov exponent, etc. We investigate the chaotic pattern of noises from these parameters. From the embedding dimensions of underwater noises, the assesment of underwater noise by chaotic analysis shows similar results if they don't include a definite sinusoidal signal. However, the values of Lyapunov exponent (divergence exponent) are smaller than that of random noise signal. As a result we confirm the possibility of classification of underwater noise using Lyapunov analysis.
According to the conventional studies on the noise and cardiovascular effect, railway noise is better associated with hypertension and adverse cardiovascular events than road traffic noise. But the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. We investigated the hypothesis that exposure to acute railway noise would the unfavorable effect of cardiovascular and autonomic system in healthy young subjects. Using a randomized, sham-controlled cross-over design, ten subjects were assigned to receive either an exposure to high speed train noise (84 dB) for 30 minutes or a control condition (non noise), separated by two days. Blood pressure, heart rate, augmentation index and heart rate variability as indices of cardiovascular and autonomic system function were measured at baseline, during, and recovery from two trials. The results show that exposure to acute railway noise significantly increased diastolic blood pressure and augmentation index, which may cause of adverse cardiovascular effects.
Noise generated from Construction site has been raised most civil complaints to 64.4 % among the environmental pollution in 2011. Therefore, local government recommends and prescribes that construction sites over a certain scale install sound level meter for noise monitoring. For example, Seoul has implemented a 24 hour noise monitoring system, with real time communication, to the large construction sites more than 10,000 $m^2$ from the end of August 2012. But it is difficult to use noise measurement data for the construction noise assessment, since the installation standards and technical specifications for construction noise monitoring system are not presented. In this paper, we proposed noise monitoring system improvement plan including technical specifications and installation standards using the investigating results of the problems of current noise monitoring system and the foreign cases.
The energy efficiency and environment-friendly aspect of the railway system would be superior to other on-land transportation systems. In a preliminary feasibility study stage, the energy efficiency and problems related with environment are usually not considered. The railway noise and vibration which could be reasons of environmental problems are focused and studied in this paper. The investment for railway systems could be encouraged by the considering of main environmental elements evaluated with the modified noise and vibration standard for environment-friendly railway construction.
