In this paper, circularly polarized patch antenna with 2-stage LNA for the reception of S-DMB is presented. It used teflon didelectric substrate of ${\in}_r$=2.2 and the size is $40{\times}40{\times}15\;[mm]$. Experimental results of fabricated antenna show that bandwidths of input return loss and axial ratio are about 22 [MHz] and 25 [MHz]. Input return loss, output return loss, gain, and noise figure of the fabricated 2-stage LNA are $S_{11}$=-14 [dB], $S_{22}$=-18 [dB], $S_{21}$=26.8 [dB], and NF=1.14 [dB] respectively. The fabricated active type antenna has total gain of 30.4 [dB] at 2.642 [GHz].
This paper describes the design and fabrication of a high power amplifier which is a component of TDL(Tactical Data Link) aircraft terminal. We applied high-speed frequency hopping technology, cognitive radio technology, and receive filter bank technology to efficiently use limited frequency resources with radar and other communication equipment using the same frequency band. The high-power amplifier is physically composed of a transmitter, a receiver, a mechanical part, and a cable assembly, and is designed to meet temperature characteristics and electrical characteristics such as maximum transmission distance and reception sensitivity. Modeling and simulator were used to satisfy the requirement of high power amplifier. The transmit power and the noise figure were measured at 50.02dBm and 2.682dB, respectively. It was confirmed that all the required specifications were satisfied in the electrical characteristics test and the environmental characteristic test.

In rehabilitation where ultrasonographic diagnosis is not popular, it could be subjective by medical expert's experience. Thus, it is necessary to develop an objective automative procedure in ultrasonic image analysis. A disadvantage of existing automative analytic procedure in musculoskeletal system is to designate an incorrect muscle area when the figure of fascia is vague. In this study, we propose a new procedure to extract more accurate muscle area in abdomen ultrasonic image for that purpose. After removing unnecessary noise from input image, we apply End-in Search algorithm to enhance the contrast between fascia and muscle area. Then after extracting initial muscle area by Up-Down search, we trace the fascia area with a mask based on morphological and directional information. By this tracing of mask movements, we can emphasize the fascia area to extract more accurate muscle area in result. This new procedure is proven to be more effective than existing methods in experiment using convex ultrasound images that are used in real world rehabilitation diagnosis.

In this paper, we propose a RF front-end architecture based on hybrid conversion which is available to receive both broadband and multiband DVB-H receiver, and a multi-function circuit for implementing the RF front-end is fabricated. A multi-function circuit is operated as a sub-harmonic mixer mode in the case of receiving a broadband VHF/UHF band, which show a conversion loss of -10.0 dB, noise figure of 7.0 dB and IIP3 of 2.0 dBm. On the other hand, it is performed as a attenuation mode with a insertion loss of -10.0 dB in receiving a multiband, L-band.

This paper presents a study on the subject for the design and implementation of high-speed frequency hopping RF transceiver used for tactical communications systems. Jump the transmission / reception frequency of the L-band to hop tens per second is possible by maximizing the immunity to interference, and is applicable to communication systems having a charging rotation function. To high-speed frequency hopping it is necessary to apply the necessary fast frequency hopping scheme DDS Driven PLL added. In this paper, the RF transceiver design and simulation analysis capabilities with fast frequency tactical communication systems, were implemented after the main test for functionality and performance. Was demonstrated hop high-speed jump tens per second through a test, the main transmission output, were measured RF key performance, such as received noise figure, by using the VSG and VSA generates a ${\pi}/4$ DQPSK modulated signal constellation and by EVM measurement that there is no problem in applying the communications system described above was pre-validated.

The error rate equation of FH/MFSK signal of repeated diversity received over m-distribution fading channel with partial-band interference has been derived and the error rate has been evaluated to show in figures as a function of signal to noise ratio, signal to interference ratio, fading figure, repeated number, partial-band interference fraction and power correlation coefficient between signal and interference. In this paper, we assumed that repeated diversity technique is used in transmitter against fading occurred in mobile radio channel. By comparing the error rate performance in diversity against fading and the obtainable degree of improvement of error performance with diversity technique has been found out. From the result, it is known that error rate performance deteriorates more as $\rho$ becomes small i.e., the partial-band interference gives more effect on error performance than full-band interference. Also when the values of $E_b/N_1$ and $\rho$ are small. as depth of fading diversity technique.

Interference and jamming are becoming increasing concern to a radar system nowdays. AESA(Active Electronically Steered Array) antennas and adaptive beamforming(ABF), in which antenna beam patterns can be modified to reject the interference, offer a potential solution to overcome the problems encountered. In this paper, we've developed a planar active phased array radar system, in which ABF, target detection and tracking algorithm operate in real-time. For the high output power and the low noise figure of the antenna, we've designed the S-band TRMs based on GaN HEMT. For real-time processing, we've used wavelenth division multiplexing technique on fiber optic communication which enables rapid data communication between the antenna and the signal processor. Also, we've implemented the HW and SW architecture of Real-time Signal Processor(RSP) for adaptive beamforming that uses SMI(Sample Matrix Inversion) technique based on MVDR(Minimum Variance Distortionless Response). The performance of this radar system has been verified by near-field and far-field tests.

In optical system, the signal and additive noise for statistical properties of a variety of ways to evaluate the performance of the system is essential for the optimization. In this paper, performance analysis of spectrum-sliced optical system in the optical pre-amplifier in the receiver the received signal by including the error limits for the bit that is, the bit error rate (BER: Bit Error Rate) required to maintain the average optical power represents the number of photons per bit is included in this paper to digital form, noticeable signal the receiver to calculate the sensitivity of the method for the calculation was performed. The general strength of the transmission of the modulated signal and digital signal transmission was required for the comparison of optical power. As shown in Figure 3, the general strength of the digital signal transmission system for transmitting a modulated signal compared with the case is improved by at least 10dB.

In this paper, we described the design of Ka-band planar active phased array antenna which is applicable for small RADAR for airborne and seeker of guided missile. The antenna consists of about 1000 array radiating elements and is designed to be within 200mm diameter. We optimized the spacing of radiating elements to allow beem steering above ${\pm}55$ degrees of Field of view, and analyzed the performance of antenna. We confirmed that the Effective Isotropic Radiated Power (EIRP) of the antenna can be 94.22 dBm and receive G/T can be 1.68 dB/k through the designs of RF components and the verification of RF budget. The TX output of TR Module is designed to be over 1.3W for EIRP, and Receive noise figure of TR Module is designed to be less than 5dB for G/T.

Active array radar is evolving into digital active array radar. Digital active array radar has many advantages for making several simultaneous radar beams from the digital receive data of each element. A digital-type transceiver(TR) module is suitable for this goal in radar. In this work, the design results of an L-band digital TR module are presented to verify the possibility of fabrication for a digital active array antenna. This L-band digital TR module consists of a gallium-nitride-type HPA to achieve a more than 350-W peak output power and one-chip transceivers that include a digital waveform generator and analog digital converter. The receiving gain was 47 dB, the noise figure was less than 2 dB, and the final output type of the four channel receiving paths was one optic signal.
