The purpose of this study was to examine the clear concept of the designs for cavity preparations. Among the several parameters in cavity designs, profound understanding of isthmus width factor would facilitate selection of the appropriate cavity preparation for a specific clinical situation. In this study, the cavities were prepared on maxillary first premolar and filled with gold inaly. A two - dimensional model was composed of 1037 - node triangle elements. In this model, isthmus was varied in width at 1/4, 1/3 and 1/2 of intercuspal width and material properties were given for four element groups, i.e., enamel, dentin, pulp and gold. The 500N occlusal load varied in direction and it was examined using three types of load : concentrated load, divided load and distributed load. The models were also examined with empty cavities using the devided load and distributed load. These models were analyzed the displacement and strees distribution by the two - dimensional Finite Element Method. The results were as follows : 1. All experimental models which filled with gold inlay after cavity preparation were similar direction of displacement with control model under same load type. But in the models with empty cavities, as isthmus width was wider, the degree of displacement was increased at same load type. 2. Among the experimental models which were filled with gold inaly after cavity preparation, the model II showed the least stress concentration under concentrated load and divided load. But in the models with empty cavities, the model III showed the largest stress concentration and tooth fracture is expected regardless isthmus width. 3. All experimental models showed similar displacement pattern beneath restorative material under a concentrated load. In the models with empty cavities, a divided load resulted in a lingual displacement of the lingual cusp, but a distributed load resulted in a buccal displacement of the lingual cusp. In regard to the above results, the restored models were stronger than empty models in respect to the bending moment and tensile stress. The empty models are expected to fracture regardless isthmus width. The safest isthmus width was 1/3 of intercuspal distance, which showed the least stress concentration in respect to the effect of stress distribution.
Restorative procedures can lead to weakening tooth due to reduction and alteration of tooth structure. It is essential to prevent fractures to conserve tooth. The resistance to fracture of the restored tooth may be influenced by many factors, among these are the cavity dimension and the physical properties of the restorative material. The placement of direct composite resin restorations has generally been found to have a strengthening effect on the prepared teeth. It is the purpose of this investigation to study the relationship between the cavity isthmus and the fracture resistance of a tooth in composite resin restorations. In this study, MO cavity was prepared on maxillary first premolar. Three dimensional finite element models were made by serial photographic method and isthmus(1/4, 1/3, 1/2 of intercuspal distance) were varied. Two types of model(B and R model) were developed. B model was assumed perfect bonding between the restoration and cavity wall and R model was left unfilled. A load of 500N was applied vertically at the first node from the lingual slope of the buccal cusp tip. This study analysed the displacement, 1 and 2 direction normal stress and strain with FEM software ABAQUS Version 5.2 and hardware IRIS 4D/310 VGX Work-station. The results were as follows : 1. Displacement of buccal cusp in R model occurred and increased as widening of the cavity, and displacement in B model was little and not influenced by cavity width. 2. There was a significant decrease of stress resulting in increase of fracture resistance in B model when compared with R model. 3. With the increase of the isthmus width, B model showed no change in the stress and strain. In R model, the stress and strain increased both in the area of buccal-pulpal line angle and the buccal side of marginal ridge, therefore the possibility of crack increased. 4. The stress and strain were distributed evenly on the tooth in B model, but in R model, were concentrated on the buccal side of the distal marginal ridge and buccal-pulpal line angle, therefore the possibility of fracture increased.

The purpose of this study is to develop the statistical model to predict sea level pressure of typhoon period in south coast of the Korean Peninsula. Seven typhoons, which struck south coast of the Korean Peninsula, are selected for this study, and the data for analysis include the central pressure and location of typhoon, and sea level pressure and location of 19 observing site. Models employed in this study are the first order regression, the second order regression and the neural network. The dependent variable of each model is a 3-hr interval sea level pressure at each station. The cause variables are the central pressure of typhoon, distance between typhoon center and observing site, and sea level pressure of 3 hrs before, whereas the indicative variable reveals whether it is before or after typhoon passing. The data are classified into two groups - one is the full data obtained during typhoon period and the other is the data that sea level pressure is less than 1000 hPa. The stepwise selection method is used in the regression model while the node number is selected in the neural network by the Schwarz's Bayesian Criterion. The performance of each model is compared in terms of the root-mean square error. It turns out that the neural network shows better performance than other models, and the case using the full data produces similar or better results than the case using the other data.

Sensor nodes forming a sensor network have limited energy capacity such as small batteries and when these nodes are placed in a specific field, it is important to research minimizing sensor nodes' energy consumption because of difficulty in supplying additional energy for the sensor nodes. Clustering has been in the limelight as one of efficient techniques to reduce sensor nodes' energy consumption in sensor networks. However, energy saving results can vary greatly depending on election of cluster heads, the number and size of clusters and the distance among the sensor nodes. /This research has an aim to find the optimal set of clusters which can reduce sensor nodes' energy consumption. We use a Genetic Algorithm(GA), a stochastic search technique used in computing, to find optimal solutions. GA performs searching through evolution processes to find optimal clusters in terms of energy efficiency. Our results show that GA is more efficient than LEACH which is a clustering algorithm without evolution processes. The two-dimensional GA (2D-GA) proposed in this research can perform more efficient gene evolution than one-dimensional GA(1D-GA)by giving unique location information to each node existing in chromosomes. As a result, the 2D-GA can find rapidly and effectively optimal clusters to maximize lifetime of the sensor networks.
The basic principles in the design of Class II amalgam cavity preparations have been modified but not changed in essence over the last 90 years. The early essential principle was "extension for prevention". Most of the modifications have served to reduce the extent of preparation and, thus, increase the conservation of sound tooth structure. A more recent concept relating to conservative Class II cavity preparations involves elimination of occlusal preparation if no carious lesion exists in this area. To evaluate the ideal ClassII cavity preparation design, if carious lesion exists only in the interproximal area, three cavity design conditions were studied: Rodda's conventional cavity, simple proximal box cavity and proximal box cavity with retention grooves. In this study, MO amalgam cavity was prepared on maxillary first premolar. Three dimensional finite element models were made by serial photographic method. Linear, eight and six-nodal, isoparametric brick elements were used for the three dimensional finite element model. The periodontal ligament and alveolar bone surrounding the tooth were excluded in these models. Three types model(B option, Gap option and R option model) were developed. B option model was assumed perfect bonding between the restoration and cavty wall. Gap option model(Gap distance: $2{\mu}m$) was assumed the possibility of play at the interface simulated the lack of real bonding between the amalgam and cavity wall (enamel and dentin). R option model was assumed non-connection between the restoration and cavty wall. A load of 500N was applied vertically at the first node from the lingual slope of the buccal cusp tip. This study analysed the displacement, 1 and 2 direction normal stress and strain with FEM software ABAQUS Version 5.2 and hardware IRIS 4D/310 VGX Work-station. The results were as followed. 1. Rodda's cavity form model showed greater amount of displacement with other two models. 2. The stress and strain were increased on the distal marginal ridge and buccopulpal line angle in Rodda's cavity form model. 3. The stress and strain were increased on the central groove and a part of distal marginal ridge in simple proximal box model and proximal box model with retention grooves. 4. With Gap option, Rodda's cavity form model showed the greatest amount of the stress on distal marginal ridge followed by proximal box model with retention grooves and simple proximal box model in descending order. 5. With Gap option, simple proximal box model showed greater amount of stress on the central groove with proximal box model with retention grooves. 6. Retention grooves in the proximal box played the role of supporting the restorations opposing to loads.

The characteristic of the backbond for distribution service in WMNs(Wireless Mesh Networks) is that WMNs has multiple links connected to mesh points and dynamic routing protocol such as AODV to establish routing paths. When the terminal is communicating with the service through new AP, mobile nodes can resume communication by setting only the link between new AP and mobile node in the case of existing WLANs, but WMNs needs path establishment process in multihop networks. Our goal in this paper is to support the seamless communication service by eliminating path establishment delay in WMNs. We present the method that eliminates the handover latency by predicting the location of handover using GPS information and making the paths to their destination in advance. We implement mesh nodes using embedded board that contains proposed handover method and evaluate performance of handover latency. Our experiment shows that handover delay time is decreased from 2.47 to 0.05 seconds and data loss rate is decreased from 20~35% in the existing method to 0~10% level.

As long span and complex bridges are constructed often recently, safety estimation became a big issue. Various types of measuring instruments are installed in case of long span bridge. New wireless technologies for long span bridges such as sending information through a gateway at the field or sending it through cables by signal processing the sensing data are applied these days. However, The case of occurred accidents related to bridge in the world have been reported that serious accidents occur due to lack of real-time proactive, intelligent action based on recognition accidents. To solve this problem in this study, the idea of "communication among things", which is the basic method of RFID/USN technology, is applied to the bridge monitoring system. A sensor node module for USN based intelligent bridge system in which sensor are utilized on the bridge and communicates interactively to prevent accidents when it captures the alert signals and urgent events, sends RF wireless signal to the nearest traffic signal to block the traffic and prevent massive accidents, is designed and tested by performing TinyOS based middleware design and sensor test free Space trans-receiving distance.
Epidemiological studies have shown the association between transportation of live animals and the potential transmission of infectious disease between premises. This finding was also observed in the 2014-2015 foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) outbreak in Korea. Furthermore, slaughterhouses played a key role in the global spread of the FMD virus during the epidemic. In this context, in-depth knowledge of the structure of direct and indirect contact between slaughterhouses is paramount for understanding the dynamics of FMD transmission. But the social network structure of vehicle movements to slaughterhouses in Korea remains unclear. Hence, the aim of this study was to configure a social network topology of vehicle movements between slaughterhouses for a better understanding of how they are potentially connected, and to explore whether FMD outbreaks can be explained by the network properties constructed in the study. We created five monthly directed networks based on the frequency and chronology of on- and off-slaughterhouse vehicle movements. For the monthly network, a node represented a slaughterhouse, and an edge (or link) denoted vehicle movement between two slaughterhouses. Movement data were retrieved from the national Korean Animal Health Integrated System (KAHIS) database, which tracks the routes of individual vehicle movements using a global positioning system (GPS). Electronic registration of livestock movements has been a mandatory requirement since 2013 to ensure traceability of such movements. For each of the five studied networks, the network structures were characterized by small-world properties, with a short mean distance, a high clustering coefficient, and a short diameter. In addition, a strongly connected component was observed in each of the created networks, and this giant component included 94.4% to 100% of all network nodes. The characteristic hub-and-spoke type of structure was not identified. Such a structural vulnerability in the network suggests that once an infectious disease (such as FMD) is introduced in a random slaughterhouse within the cohesive component, it can spread to every other slaughterhouse in the component. From an epidemiological perspective, for disease management, empirically derived small-world networks could inform decision-makers on the higher potential for a large FMD epidemic within the livestock industry, and could provide insights into the rapid-transmission dynamics of the disease across long distances, despite a standstill of animal movements during the epidemic, given a single incursion of infection in any slaughterhouse in the country.

Non Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) is a technology to guarantee the explosively increased Quality of Service(QoS) of users in 5G networks. NOMA can remove the frequent orthogonality in Orthogonal Multiple Access (OMA) while allocating the power differentially to classify user signals. NOMA can guarantee higher communication speed than OMA. However, the NOMA has one disadvantage; it consumes a more energy power when the distance increases. To solve this problem, relay nodes are employed to implement the cooperative NOMA control idea. In a cooperative NOMA network, relay node participations for cooperative communications are essential. In this paper, a new bandwidth allocation scheme is proposed for cooperative NOMA platform. By employing the idea of Vickrey-Clarke-Groves (VCG) mechanism, the proposed scheme can effectively prevent selfishly actions of relay nodes in the cooperative NOMA network. Especially, base stations can pay incentives to relay nodes as much as the contributes of relay nodes. Therefore, the proposed scheme can control the selfish behavior of relay nodes to improve the overall system performance.

As the micro-mobility market grows, the demand for route guidance, that includes uphill information as well, is increasing. Since the climbing angle depends on the electric motor uesed, it is necessary to establish an uphill road DB according to the threshold standard. Although road alignment information is a very important element in the basic information of the roads, there is no information currently on the longitudinal slope in the road digital map. The High Definition(HD) map which is being built as a preparation for the era of autonomous vehicles has the altitude value, unlike the existing standard node link system. However, the HD map is very insufficient because it has the altitude value only for some sections of the road network. This paper, hence, intends to propose a method to generate the road longitudinal slope using currently available data. We developed a method of computing the longitudinal slope by combining the digital elevation model and the standard link system. After creating an altitude at the road link point divided by 4m based on the Seoul road network, we calculated individual slope per unit distance of the road. After designating a representative slope for each road link, we have extracted the very steep road that cannot be climbed with personal mobility and the slippery roads that cannot be used during heavy snowfall. We additionally described errors in the altitude values due to surrounding terrain and the issues related to the slope calculation method. In the future, we expect that the road longitudinal slope information will be used as basic data that can be used for various convergence analyses.
