  • As broadcasting in Mobile Ad hoc NETwork (MANET) is the process that a node sends a packet to all other nodes in the network. it is used for routing protocols such as Ad hoc On demand Distance Vector (AODV) to disseminate control information for establishing the routes. In this paper, we propose Probabilistic Broadcasting mechanism based on Distance Ratio between sender and receive node in MANETs. The proposed approach is based on the combination of probability and distance based approach. A mobile node receiving broadcast packets determines the probability of rebroadcasting considering distance ratio from sender. The distance ratio of a node is calculated by the distance from sender and the length of radio field strength. As a node with high distance ratio is located far away from sender, rebroadcast probability is set to high value. On contrary, the low rebroadcast probability is set for a node with low distance ratio which is close to sender. So it reduces packets transmission caused by the early die-out of rebroadcast packets. Compared with the simple flooding and fixed probabilistic flooding by simulation, our approach shows better performances results. Proposed algorithm can reduce the rebroadcast packet delivery more than 30% without scanting reachability, where as it shows up to 96% reachability compared with flooding.

  • Community search aims at finding a meaningful community that contains the query node and also maximizes (minimizes) a goodness metric. This problem has recently drawn intense research interest. However, most metric-based algorithms tend to include irrelevant subgraphs in the identified community. Apart from the user-defined metric algorithm, how can we search the natural community that the query node belongs to? In this paper, we propose a novel community search algorithm based on the concept of the k-hop and local distance dynamics model, which can naturally capture a community that contains the query node. The basic idea is to envision the nodes that k-hop away from the query node as an adaptive local dynamical system, where each node only interacts with its local topological structure. Relying on a proposed local distance dynamics model, the distances among nodes change over time, where the nodes sharing the same community with the query node tend to gradually move together, while other nodes stay far away from each other. Such interplay eventually leads to a steady distribution of distances, and a meaningful community is naturally found. Extensive experiments show that our community search algorithm has good performance relative to several state-of-the-art algorithms.

  • An ad-hoc network routing protocol, AODV(Ad-hoc On-demand Distance Vector) initially uses ERS(Expanding Ring Search) algorithm to control the RREQ(Route Request) retransmission in the route discovery process. Because ERS uses the fixed NTT(Node Travesal Time), it does not reflect accurately ad-hoc network environment. In this paper, we propose an improved ERS algorithm which lowers the retransmission rate. It uses RREP(Route Reply) and gives different weights in NTT of each node in accordance with the adjacency to an originating node. To show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, we perform a simulation using ns2. The simulation results showed that the proposed algorithm has better performance than existing algorithms.

  • This paper proposes a transmitted power saving method for underwater acoustic sensors considering the acoustic wave propagation characteristic that propagation loss increases more rapidly in higher frequency band. In the proposed scheme, sensor nodes are divided into a few groups based on the distance between sink node and the sensor node, and each group uses its own frequency band. The node group with longer distance uses lower frequency and the node group with shorter distance uses higher frequency. By means of such a distance-dependent frequency allocation, all sensor nodes are able to maintain a certain target signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), but also save transmitted power. In addition, the optimum size of node group is obtained, and also a frequency allocation algorithm is proposed accordingly. Numerical results show that the proposed scheme saves transmitted power by more 10 dB comparing non-grouping methods.

  • In clustering-based approaches, cluster heads closer to the sink are usually burdened with much more relay traffic and thus, tend to die early. To address this problem, distance-aware clustering approaches, such as energy-efficient unequal clustering (EEUC), that adjust the cluster size according to the distance between the sink and each cluster head have been proposed. However, the network lifetime of such approaches is highly dependent on the distribution of the sensor nodes, because, in randomly distributed sensor networks, the approaches do not guarantee that the cluster energy consumption will be proportional to the cluster size. To address this problem, we propose a novel approach called CACD (Clustering Algorithm Considering node Distribution), which is not only distance-aware but also node density-aware approach. In CACD, clusters are allowed to have limited member nodes, which are determined by the distance between the sink and the cluster head. Simulation results show that CACD is 20%-50% more energy-efficient than previous work under various operational conditions considering the network lifetime.

  • Greedy protocols show good performance in Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANETs) environment in general. But they make longer routes causing by surroundings or turn out routing failures in some cases when there are many traffic signals which generate empty streets temporary, or there is no merge roads after a road divide into two roads. When a node selects the next node simply using the distance to the destination node, the longer route is made by traditional greedy protocols in some cases and sometimes the route ends up routing failure. Most of traditional greedy protocols just take into account the distance to the destination to select a next node. Each node needs to consider not only the distance to the destination node but also the direction to the destination while routing a packet because of geographical environment. The proposed routing scheme considers both of the distance and the direction for forwarding packets to make a stable route. And the protocol can configure as the surrounding environment. We evaluate the performance of the protocol using two mobility models and network simulations. Most of network performances are improved rather than in compared with traditional greedy protocols.

  • Due to the characteristics of an ad hoc network without a control center, self-organization, and flexible topology, the trust evaluation of the nodes in the network is extremely difficult. Based on the analysis of ad hoc networks and the blockchain technology, a blockchain-based node-level trust evaluation model is proposed. The concepts of the node trust degree of the HASH list on the blockchain and the perfect reward and punishment mechanism are adopted to construct the node trust evaluation model of the ad hoc network. According to the needs of different applications the network security level can be dynamically adjusted through changes in the trust threshold. The simulation experiments demonstrate that ad-hoc on-demand distance vector(AODV) Routing protocol based on this model of multicast-AODV(MAODV) routing protocol shows a significant improvement in security compared with the traditional AODV and on-demand multipath distance vector(AOMDV) routing protocols.

  • Ad Hoc network is a special wireless network, mainly because the nodes are no control center, the topology is flexible, and the networking could be established quickly, which results the transmission stability is lower than other types of networks. In order to guarantee the transmission of data packets in the network effectively, an improved Queue Ad Hoc On-demand Distance Vector Routing protocol (Q-AODV) for node detection by using blockchain technology is proposed. In the route search process. Firstly, according to the node's daily communication record the cluster is formed by the source node using the smart contract and gradually extends to the path detection. Then the best optional path nodes are chained in the form of Merkle tree. Finally, the best path is chosen on the blockchain. Simulation experiments show that the stability of Q-AODV protocol is higher than the AODV protocol or the Dynamic Source Routing (DSR) protocol.

  • Routing technique of wireless sensor network that is presented to improve effectiveness of consumption in energy at the previous study is existing in various ways, however for routing, its own location data and nodes' location data close to with 1-hop distance should be kept. And it uses multi-hop transmission method that transmits data to BS node via several nodes. This technique makes electronic consumption of sensor node and entire network's energy consumption so that it makes effective energy management problem. Therefore, this paper suggests location based 1-hop routing technique of BS node that satisfies distance $d{\pm}{\alpha}$ with source node using RSSI and radio wave range of sensor node.
