A Study on the Color Symbol on Costume in the Virgin Mary and an Infant Jesus Icons (성모자도상에 나타난 복색의 상징성)

  • The purpose of this study was to research of color symbol on white in the Virgin Mary and an Infant jesus icons. For this purpose icons were selected and analyzed from the medieval ages to the 18th century. The results were as follows. Icons on the subject of the Annnunciation and the Nativity should be expressive of nobility immaculacy and innocence of the Virgin Mary and an Infant Jesus. With this view white was used to be color of candle a waxing moon lily kettle dress bedspredad towel wall encircled garden and became symbolic color in the Icons. As a result the color symbol of white the meaning of immaculacy and innocence disseminated according to spread of the Christian religion. In these days though elimination of the religious meaning the white color is using continuosly as a symbolic color of immaculacy and innocence.

  • The history of architectural acoustics is a part of history of human being getting together for both politics and entertainments, is also a part of the history of nobility pursuing hearing enjoyments, is still a part history of scientists deeply understanding the concept of "just for people", and as well as is a part history ceaselessly driven by the musicians to find their real hearts through music. The history of architectural acoustics explains not only the acoustic knowledge developments in architectural design, but also the unity on contradictory of both the science and the arts, both the technology and the culture, both the sense and sense organ. The history of architectural acoustics prints the interactions between the mankind and the nature, between the mankind and themselves, between the mankind and their souls, in which course people understand their feelings more deeply and deeply. This paper discusses the brief history of architectural acoustic in China from the ancient drama stages to grand theaters in 20 century, even up to nowadays, including some most important buildings and events as well.

A Study on the Conical Hat (고갈형 관모에 관한 연구)

  • This paper is extended the meaning and period of CONICAL HAT. That is, the race in Central Asia and Western Asia have worn the conical hat before Scytian appeared. One in conical hat puts on the clothes of two-piece style and has the lifestyle. a horse riding and nomadism. Besides the race originate into the Indo-European language family. On the whole the conical hat has relations with the region and is classified into two groups. Scytian and Klin-Yar style. First. the Scytian style of low hat forms the seam of two-piece and is discovered in Southern Russia. Central Asia and East-Northern Asia. Second, the Klin-Yar style of high hat forms the one piece and generally is discovered in Asia Minor and west of Altai. Until now the moaning of the conical hat has focused on the military. However, one in Central Asia and Western Asia is mostly a king. nobility and god. Therefore, in addition to the meaning of military. I estimate that the conical hat may be expressed as the noble status.

  • In the decade of the 1920s in an America, with booming of economy, people had more money. And with the development of transportation, people can afford expensive traveling throughout Europe. With this reason they were exposed to a nobility of European style and liked royalty more than before. American hunting man wanted traditional dress to express their status as a psychological code and the reason of the existing very similar hunting garment in nowadays is based on this belief. The purpose of this study is not merely understanding the styles of American Men's hunting and shooting garments in the 1920s but understanding the psychology of the people. People quite clearly do not dress according to function ore need alone and, in fact the consumption of clothes increasingly serves no other purpose than to fulfill or express psychological or social, rather than practical need.

  • The purpose of this study was to find out the correlation between the spirit of the times and the characteristics of each eras fashionable silhouette and clothing in Gothic and Modern Period. Theoretical studies about the spirit of times, and the characteristics of clothing about each times were preceded. The results were as follows: The similarities of spirit of times were 1) emphasis on reason and rationality 2) centralization by christianity in Gothic Period, and modernism theory in Modern Period 3) times of the nobility and the churchman in Gothic, and elite class in Modern era. The similarities of characteristics of clothing were 1) preference of slim body form as the ideal body figure, 2) emphasis on convenience and function for freedom in action, 3) discontinuation of traditional way of clothing attitude, 4) emphasis on straight and simple on the silhouette and design, 5) tendency of eliminating ornaments on clothing.

Analysis of Hot Electrons in nMOSFET by Monte Carlo Simulation (Monte Carlo simulation에 의한 nMOSFET의 hot electron 현상해석)

  • We reported that hot electron phenomena in submicron nMOSFET by Monte Carlo method. In order to predict the influence of the hot electron effects on the device reliability, either simple analytical model or a complete two dimensional numerical simulation has been adopted. Results of numerical simulation, based on the static mobility model, may be inaccurate when gate length of MOSFET is scaled down to less than 1um. Most of device simulation packages utilize the static nobility model. Monte Carlo method based on stochastic analysis of carrier movement may be a powerful tool to characterize hot electrons. In this work, energy and velocity distribution of carriers were obtained to predict the relative degree of short channel effects for different device parameters. Our analysis shows a few interesting results when $V_{ds}$ is 5 volt, average electron energy does not increase with gate bias as evidenced by substrate current.

  • The existing urban open space system of the German cities has an exellent frame, which is a result of the long history of its developing. The beginning time of that goes back to the end of the 18th century, as pri-vate gardens of feudal lords and the nobility became more and more public and public open space plannedwas appearing. Through the change from the feudal age to the civil society, the people's values on the urbanopenspace were growing. so that it had more social meanings.   • We show how to rapidly build a framework supporting weak code mobility by using Active XML [I]. Weak code mobility is important in mobile applications area by offering functionality at a low bandwidth cost and with little overhead imposed to the user peer architecture. Starting from already known principles involving code nobility, we give a new definition for the functionality transfer p개cess and we materialize it in a working prototype.

A Study on Stonemason and Style of the Stele for State Preceptor Doseon and Seon Master Sumi (<도선국사·수미선사비>의 제작 장인과 양식 연구)

  • The Stele for State Preceptor Doseon and Seon Master Sumi of Dogapsa Temple in Yeongam was erected in the fourth month of 1653. It was made with stone obtained from Yeosan(present-day Yeosan-myeon, Iksansi), and contains an inscription - engraved in the spring of 1651 - commemorating the two priests. The project to erect the monument was led by eminent monks, including Gakseong and Sucho, with the support of royal patrons and powerful statesmen including Prince Inpyeong(1622~1658). This monument is thought to be the first of its kind to have a capstone in the shape of a 'dragon loop' handle of the kind traditionally attached to the top of a temple bell. Stone stelae with a dragon-loop-shaped capstone continued to be used by the royalty and nobility of Joseon until the 18th century. The inscription engraved on the rear face of the monument reveals that it was made by Jo Mal-ryong, a renowned stonemason who worked on stone monuments and figures for royal tombs in the mid-Joseon period. He is known as the only stonemason to have been awarded the third highest rank(Jeong-sampum) of government, including the posts of Grand Master(Tongjeong Daebu) and General(Jeolchung Janggun), as recorded in the inscription. The monument corroborates the prevalent view that he was the creator of monumental capstones of the highest aesthetic merit in Joseon, and provides valuable insights about the leading artisans who produced monumental stones for royal tombs in the 17th century. This particular monument is highly regarded as a valuable historical relic because of the detailed information contained in the inscription, including the dates, work processes, patrons and artisans related with its creation, and because it features outstanding workmanship by some of the greatest artisans of the period. The monument also provides important clues about the transition from the Buddhist monuments created under the auspices of the royalty and nobility of mid-period Joseon to the symbolic stone structures and figures made for the tombs of royalty and nobility.

The World View on the Recreation of the Later World in Daesoonjinrihoe (대순진리회의 후천개벽 세계관)

  • This paper aims to understand how Daesoonjinrihoe perceives the Later World. Daesoonjinrihoe supports to establish an earthly paradise through the re-creation of the real world unlike other religions which tend to relegate ultimate fulfillment to the afterlife. In other words, Daesoonjinrihoe endeavors to achieve their objectives in the human world rather than outside of it in a potential act of escapism. The new religions in Korea have been characterized by ethnocentrism and doctrines which present Koreans as the new chosen people by emphasizing Korea's crucial role in world leadership. However, the doctrine of Daesoonjinrihoe differ with other new religions of Korea in this regard as its purpose is to redeem the whole world. Daesoonjinrihoe proposes an open embrace of the religious diversity found in Korean society. Daesoonjinrihoe argues that the Later World has not come yet, even though the Former World is over and progress towards the Later World has already been set in motion. The meaning of human nobility is akin to anthropocentricity. According to a variety of myths and legends, animals and supernatural often attempt to become human. Moreover, it would not be an overstatement to assert that the re-creation of the real world and the Daesoon concept of human nobility correspond with these myths and legends. There were not definite interpretations regarding heaven in Confucianism historically, yet Daesoonjinrihoe differentiates clearly that heaven and Sangje are cosmic structures. Buddhism perceives that heaven separately exists as a cosmic structure and that Buddha is a transcendental entity, however; that entity is not accessible for intercession. On the contrary, the ways to save the world have been adduced in Daesoonjinrihoe. In addition, the earthly paradise of the Later World has likewise been introduced. Specifically, it is Sangje that opens the door to that paradise. Unresolved issues in the formation of a world view still persist. There are no shortage of studies on the notion of gods or divine beings, however; most of these studies focus on genealogical classification, forms, functions and other such topics. The concept of god, ghost, or soul does not seem to have been clearly defined in these studies nor has the relationship among these entities and humanity been satisfactorily examined. For example, if human beings become either gods or divine beings, questions regarding divine beings who have acted as protectors or guardians of human beings then arises. The Daesoon cosmology should be specifically compared to cosmology in Daoism. By conducting additional studies such as a comparative research with Daoism, it will be possible to interpret mantras and Daoist art as they appear in Daesoonjinrihoe in a thought-provoking way which can in turn be compared with other religions.
