시판 야간 안전복의 기능성 및 가시성 평가 (Evaluation of the Functionality and Visibility of Commercial High-Visibility Clothing for Nighttime Usage)

  • To assist the further development of hight-visibility clothing this study compared the visibility and subjective wear sensation of commercial protective vests with retro-reflecting materials or LEDs. Nine subjects compared high-visibility vests to evaluate how easy they were to see when exposed to the headlight of a car at night, and the subjects assessed the wear sensation of the vests also. The intensity and visibility of five different colored LEDs assembled on the five substrates separately were also evaluated to select the suitable LED color for night protective clothing. The intensity of illumination was measured by an illuminometer, and the visibility was evaluated by 11 participants both in a dark room and in front of a car outdoors at night. Results showed, the most effective LEDs were high intensity LEDs which shift blinking red and white were most effective. However, excessively high intensity of illumination could decrease the working efficiency. In subjective wear evaluation, the most favorable vest had a front opening, were adjustable at the sides, and had an electric power switch on the front of the vest.

An Improved ViBe Algorithm of Moving Target Extraction for Night Infrared Surveillance Video

  • For the research field of night infrared surveillance video, the target imaging in the video is easily affected by the light due to the characteristics of the active infrared camera and the classical ViBe algorithm has some problems for moving target extraction because of background misjudgment, noise interference, ghost shadow and so on. Therefore, an improved ViBe algorithm (I-ViBe) for moving target extraction in night infrared surveillance video is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the video frames are sampled and judged by the degree of light influence, and the video frame is divided into three situations: no light change, small light change, and severe light change. Secondly, the ViBe algorithm is extracted the moving target when there is no light change. The segmentation factor of the ViBe algorithm is adaptively changed to reduce the impact of the light on the ViBe algorithm when the light change is small. The moving target is extracted using the region growing algorithm improved by the image entropy in the differential image of the current frame and the background model when the illumination changes drastically. Based on the results of the simulation, the I-ViBe algorithm proposed has better robustness to the influence of illumination. When extracting moving targets at night the I-ViBe algorithm can make target extraction more accurate and provide more effective data for further night behavior recognition and target tracking.

자동차 전조등 고압 방전 램프 구조 변경에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Automotive Structural Change of High Intensity Discharge Head lamp)

  • A test was conducted using two high density discharge lamps, the H2D and the structurally new H4D. They were tested for luminous illumination and luminous temperature in the day and night time. The test was conducted without crippling the performance of the H2D by adding a magnetic actuator, enabling it to move left to right, and up and down. By making these modifications we constructed a sample of the H4D. We compared the H2D and the H4D sample's luminous illumination and luminous temperature by using a photometer and a digital thermometer in the day and night time. We discovered that the H2D and H4D performed similarly from the data we gathered. Now we know the H4D has potential use and extensive research needs to be made to gather more detailed data.

  • Reflection considered as the view disturbing noise in optical systems, such as stereo camera in autonomous vehicles especially in night. Reflection caused by the street light or due to rainwater under adverse weather conditions. A blur image detected by the camera that results in wrong guidance to vehicle for detecting its track. A vehicle guidance approach through stereo vision can be same in day and night time. However it cannot be guided with same image analysis due to diverse illumination conditions. We develop the technique that shows its efficacy with illustrations of reflection removal off the camera lens and vehicle tracking control.

Impact of Artificial Illumlination on Zooplankton Dynamics

  • Impact of artificial illumination on zooplankton dynamics has been studied in Tongyong marine ranch during the period from August 1998 to August 1999. Monthly sampling has been carried out to collect zooplankters from both natural waters and artificially illuminated waters at night. A total of 48 taxa of zooplankton occurred during the study. Copepods showed the prosperity in species number with 21 species. Every sample from illuminated waters consisted of move than 15 species except February while less than 15 species in samples from natural waters during the winter. Benthic amphipods occurred abundantly in illuminated waters. Zooplankton abundance was revealed to be increased in illuminated waters mainly due to the gathering of amphipods (4,500 indiv. $m^{-3})$ in September and October. Twenty times of zooplankton abundance was recorded in illuminated waters when compared with that in natural ones in September due to the gathering: of amphipods and ten times by the explosion of N. scintillans in August 1999. However, no distinct difference in the abundance was observed between two waters in the winter. Zooplankton gathering with artificial illumination seemed to be effective in amphipods, while copepods were hardly affected by the artificial illumination at night.

야간작업 안전의 적정조명 기준설정을 위한 실험연구 (A Study on the Practical lighting Guide for Night Work)

  • A Reasonable lighting should be provided for doing night work. All works far construction site can be exposed to potential hazard at night work The purpose of this study is to provide a standard of the lighting against accidents due to insufficient lighting at site. one pilot tea one at building work site, one at mad work site of it have been conducted for figuring out illumination change depending worker's activity direction, using lux checker to show it as numerical indication. The direction are changed with a range of 30, 60, 90, and 135 degree to be checked at site. Tests results show that $10\%\;and\;15\%$ of lighting could be decreased by changing the working direction of works at site. Therefore, steep slope place, cave work and backside of structural elements such as a column, deep beam should be considered for keeping sufficient and reasonable lighting. It is found that $50\%more$ illumination Lux needs f3r civil work than for building work.

안양시 야간경관 조명환경 개선방향에 관한 연구 (A Study on Improvement of Lighting Environment of Night-Scape in Anyang-si)

  • 본 연구에서는 먼저 도시적 특성의 분석을 토대로 안양시를 6개 지역으로 구분하였으며 지역별 구분에 따른 야간의 조도 휘도의 실측조사 및 야간이용자 패턴 조사를 통하여 야간경관의 문제점을 도출하였다. 야간경관 연출개념으로는 지역별 문제점 분석에 따른 개선방안과 예술적 가치를 창출하는 개념을 적용하여 예술도시로서의 안양의 이미지를 고양시키고자 하였으며 야간조명의 괌형과 통일성 확보를 위해 지역별 점진적 변화를 빛의 조닝의 개념으로 선정하였다. 특히, 건축물의 높이에 따른 건축물 기준선을 통해 주변 건축물과 조화된 단계적인 스카이라인을 연출하여 자연경관 등과 조화로운 조망권을 확보하도록 하였으며 지역 특성에 따라 가로등 및 가로시설물의 조도, 높이, 램프형태, 배열방식 등의 야간 조명환경의 개선방향을 추가로 제시하였다.

  • Recently, there are rapid increases in golf population. People are enjoying play golf not only during the day but also at night as well. Although there are not many golf courses that offer night play, people inquire place where they can play night games due to their busy daily lives. To supply the demand in national golf courses night-lighting has been pushed ahead competitively, however there are few standards of lighting design in golf course. Because it is not clear that the standards of lighting in the world yet, this study aimed at presentation of standard of lighting design for planning golf course. Investigating the cases of golf course, this study suggested illumination standard of golf course to support comfortable visual-environment and measures to prevention glare for visitors.

어류의 주광성에 관한 연구 -쥐치, 붕장어, 붕어- (PHOTOTAXIS OF FILEFISH, CONGER EEL AND CRUCIAN CARP)

  • 빛에 대한 어류의 행동을 조사하기 위하여, 쥐치 Stephanolepis cirrhifer, 붕장어 Astroconger myriaster, 붕어 Carassius cerassius에 빛의 세기가 서로 다른 여섯가지 인공광원으로 광자극을 주어, 그에 대한 반응을 주야에 각각 조사한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 제한된 실험수조내에서의 광자극에 대한 구간별분포는 세 어종이 모두 양단구간에 많이 모여 분포곡선은 대체로 U자형이 되었다. 2. 쥐치는 빛의 세기가 강할수록 광원으로부터 멀리 떨어진 곳에 많이 모이는 경향을 나타냈다. 집어율이 최대가 되는 평균수중조도는 0.7 lx(0.5-1.1 lx)로서 주야간에 같았다. 조명시간이 경과함에 따라 집어율이 증가하는 경향을 나타냈다. 3. 붕장어는 수중조도가 어떤 값보다 높아지면 광원에서 멀리 떨어지는 경향을 보였고, 집어율이 최대가 되 는 평균수중조도는 주간에 1.9 lx(1.2-2.9 1x), 야간에 5.2 1x(3.2-7.7 1x)로서 야간에 더 높았다. 집어율은 조명시간의 경과에 관계없이 거의 일정 하였다. 4. 붕어는 어느 실험광원하에서도 제 VI 구간에 많이 모였고, 강한 광원일수록 제 VI 구간에 더 많이 모이는 경향을 보였다. 야간에는 16.2 lx 정도에서 집어율이 약간은 높은 경향을 보였으나, 대체로 주야간 다같이 수중조도에 따른 집어율의 변화가 뚜렷하지 않았다. 조명시간 중 집어율이 일정한 증감추세를 보인지 않고, 불안정하게 변동했다.
