금속 분말을 이용한 합금폼 제조 및 특성 (Fabrication and Properties of Alloy Foam Materials using Metal Powders)

  • Nickel-based and iron-based alloys have been developed and commercialized for a wide range of high performance applications at severely corrosive and high temperature environment. This alloy foam has an outstanding performance which is predestinated for diesel particulate filters, heat exchangers, and catalyst support, noise absorbers, battery, fuel cell, and flame distributers in burners in chemical and automotive industry. Production of alloy foam starts from high-tech coating technology and heat treatment of transient liquid-phase sintering in the high temperature. These technology allow for preparation of a wide variety of foam compositions such as Ni, Cr, Al, Fe on various pore size of pure nickel foam or iron foam in order for tailoring material properties to a specific application.

Si-sealant를 이용하여 제조한 금속수소화물 전극의 특성 (The Properties of the Metal Hydride electrodes prepared by Silicon Sealant)

  • The $(LM)Ni_{4.5}Co_{0.1}Mn_{0.2}Al_{0.2}$ hydrogen storage alloy powders were conducted 25wt% electroless copper plating in an acidic bath. For the preparation of a hydride electrodes, the copper coated alloy powder was mixed with Si-sealant(organosilicon) and compacted with $6t/cm^2$ at room temperature. The electrode characteristics were examined through electrochemical measurements in a half cell. As a sealant contents increased, the initial discharge capacity of si-sealant bounded electrode was lower and the activation rate in high current density was slower. For extended cycles, however, the electrodes with the Si-sealant were superior in a high rate discharge and useful range of temperature over the sealant-free electrode. In addition, the cycle life increased with increasing the amount of Si-sealant added. It can be suggested from the results that the Si-sealant as a binder could be applied to the preparation of the metal hydride electrode.

Zirconala 용사된 Hastelloy X의 고온산화거동 (A Study on the high temperature oxidation behavior of zirconia plasma coatings on Haselloy X)

  • Finned segment, with which are lined inner wall of the turbine combustors, are subject to severe degradation when they are exposed to a hostile environmment at elevated temperature. To protect the finned segment from this environment and to maintain good mechanical properties of components at high temperature, they are preferred to be coated. The most governing factor for the durability of coatings used in the high temperature is the microstructure of coatings; these are splat from, distibution of microcacks, size and distribution of pores, thickness of coating layer, adhesion between coating layer, and oxidation of band coating. In this study, based on the evaluation of the imported finned segment, new finned segment segment was manufactured with optimum plasma spraying parameters, and their properties were examined. Using $ZrO_2(8wt$Y_2O_3)$,/TEX> powder for ceramic coating and 67Ni-22Cr-10Al-0.5Y mixing powder for bond coating, thickness of ceramic and bond coating layer were varied in order to find optimum condition, the results showed that B2T4(bond coating : 100~250$\mu\textrm{m}$, ceramic coating : 250~300$\mu\textrm{m}$) was the best among the specimens tested. Compared to the imported finned segment, B2T4 has better bond strength, hardness, and isothermal and cyclic oxidation resistance.

팔라듐 합금 복합막 제조를 위한 Intermediate Layer 연구 (A Study on Intermediate Layer for Palladium-Based Alloy Composite Membrane Fabrication)

  • 팔라듐 합금 복합막의 제조는 니켈 분말과 무기화합물의 혼합물로 개질된 튜브형 다공성 스테인레스 스틸 지지체 표면 위에 무전해 도금법(elctroless plating technique)에 의해 팔라듐 - 니켈 - 은을 박막으로 도금하는 형태로 이루어졌다. 일반적인 다공성 금속 지지체는 기공이 크기 때문에 그 자체로서 도금에 적합한 지지층이 되기가 어렵고, 결함이 없는 팔라듐 복합막의 제조가 쉽지 않아 본 연구에서는 금속 지지체와 팔라듐 사이에 중간층(intermediate layer)을 형성하여 이와 같은 문제점을 극복하고자 하였다. 중간층의 소재인 실리카 졸, 알루미나 졸, 이산화티타늄 졸 등의 무기화합물과 니켈 분말의 혼합물로 다공성 금속 지지체 위에 코팅하여 박막을 형성하고 제조 조건에 따른 질소 투과도를 측정하고 비교하였다. SEM 분석법에 의해 니켈과 무기화합물 혼합물의 표면층의 형성 모습도 측정하였다. 제조된 중간층 가운데 이산화티타늄 졸과 니켈의 혼합물이 가장 낮은 질소 투과도와 치밀한 표면층을 나타내었다. 최종적으로 니켈과 실리카의 혼합 중간층으로 이루어진 팔라듐-니켈-은 합금 복합막을 제조하고 수소와 질소의 투과도를 측정하였다. 1기압 이하에서 질소에 대한 수소 선택도는 무한대였으며 수소투과 속도는 1 기압, $500^{\circ}C$에서 $1.39{\times}10^{-2}mol/m^2{\cdot}s$의 값을 나타냈다.
