Magnetic Properties of (Co-Cr)-P-Ni Alloy Thin Film ((Co-Cr)-P-Ni 합금 박막의 자기적 특성)

  • We produced $(Co_{93}Cr_{7})-P-Ni$ thin films for longitudinal magnetic recording media using OC magnetron sputtering system The variation of magnetic properties of $(Co_{93}Cr_{7})-P-Ni$ pseudo-ternary system with the composition was examined. We obtained the coercivity up to 1500 Oe. The coercivity iocrease could be ascribed to in-plane anisotropy enhaocement, grain size decrease, magnetic decoupling between particles. TEM micrographs showed that the grains were well-decoupled by the addition of phosphorous.

  • The correlation of surface morphology and magnetic property of NiFe thin films on Si(001) deposited by RF-magnetron sputter has been investigated, using AFM, XRD and MR measurements. During short field annealing for 15 min, there was no significant change in XRD patterns of NiFe thin films. However, the degree of surface roughness was changed with increasing annealing temperature. With variation of surface roughness, there was significant difference in MR characteristics of NiFe thin films. In the case of as-deposited NiFe thin films(T$\_$G/ = 150$^{\circ}C$) and UFA400 (T$\_$A/ = 400$^{\circ}C$) having smooth surface, good linearity of MR Curve was observed.

  • This research was performed to investigate the effect of ageing on grain refinement of 82wt%Cu-13.5wt%Al-4.5wt%Ni-0.1wt% misch metal alloy with ageing temperature and time. The results obtained in this study are as follows; The variation of transformation temperature with ageing temperature had very influence on ageing time at $300^{\circ}C$. But it had not influence on ageing time at $100^{\circ}C$. The variation of transformation temperature after second reversed transformation cycle was not occured in martensitic phase ageing, but $M_s$ point was appeared equally with third reversed transformation cycle in parent phase ageing. The variation of $M_s$ point was not nearly with ageing time at $100^{\circ}C$ ageing temperature. But it was decreasing with ageing time at $300^{\circ}C$ ageing temperature and $A_s$ point was increasing with ageing time. Structure of parent phase ageing was being M18R martensitic and N2H martensitic phase. It was found that ${\alpha}$ and ${\gamma}_2$ phase were created by ageing of long time at $300^{\circ}C$ ageing temperature.

Characteristic Evaluation of WC Hard Materials According to Ni Content Variation by a Pulsed Current Activated Sintering Process (펄스전류활성 소결 공정을 이용한 Ni 함량변화에 따른 WC 소재의 특성평가)

  • Expensive PCBN or ceramic cutting tools are used for the processing of difficult-to-cut materials such as Ti and Ni alloy materials. These tools have a problem of breaking easily due to their high hardness but low fracture toughness. To solve this problem, cutting tools that form various coating layers are used in low-cost WC-Co hard material tools, and researches on various tool materials are being conducted. In this study, WC-5, 10, and 15 wt%Ni hard materials for difficult-to-cut cutting materials are densified using horizontal ball milled WC-Ni powders and pulsed current activated sintering method (PCAS method). Each PCASed WC-Ni hard materials are almost completely dense, with a relative density of up to 99.7 ~ 99.9 %, after the simultaneous application of pressure of 60 MPa and electric current for 2 min; process involves almost no change in the grain size. The average grain sizes of WC and Ni for WC-5, 10, and 15 wt%Ni hard materials are about 1.09 ~ 1.29 and 0.31 ~ 0.51 µm, respectively. Vickers hardness and fracture toughness of WC-5, 10, and 15 wt%Ni hard materials are about 1,923 ~ 1,788 kg/mm2 and 13.2 ~ 14.3 MPa.m1/2, respectively. Microstructure and phase analyses of PCASed WC-Ni hard materials are performed.

The Magnetic Properties with the Variation of Sintering Temperature and Microwave Absorbing Characteristics of NiCoZn Ferrite Composite Prepared by Co-precipitation Method (공침법으로 제조한 NiCoZn Ferrite의 조성 및 소결온도에 따른 자기적 특성 및 전파흡수특성)

  • In this study, NiCoZn ferrites with the variation of sintering temperature and chemical composition were prepared by the coprecipitation. Microstructures Crystal structure of NiCoZn ferrites were analyzed by XRD and their electric magnetic characteristics were analyzed by LCR meter and their morphology observed by SEM. We identified that these powders have a typical NiCoZn spinel structure and nanoparticles average size of 40 nm. The impurity, the initial permeability and the Q factor value are the lowest of sintered NiCoZn ferrite at $1250^{\circ}C$. Also, we measured S-parameter for $(Ni_{0.4}Co_{0.1}Zn_{0.5})Fe_2O_4$ which showed a maximum reflection loss of -3.1 dB at 6 GHz for the 2 mm thick sample. From this result, we found that the NiCoZn ferrite can be used in ferrite microwave-absorbing application at a higher frequency region (> 6 GHz).

Variation of Li Diffusion Coefficient during Delithiation of Spinel LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4

  • For this study, the sol gel method was used to synthesize the spinel LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 (LNMO) electrode material. Structural, morphological, electrochemical, and kinetic aspects of the LNMO have been characterized. The synthesized LNMO was indexed with the Fd3m cubic space group. The excellent capacity retention indicates that the spinel framework of LNMO has the ability to withstand high rate charge-discharge throughout long cycle tests. The Li diffusion coefficient (DLi) changes non-monotonically across three orders of magnitude, from 10-9 to 10-12 cm2 s-1 determined from GITT method. The variation of DLi seemed to be related to three oxidation reactions that happened throughout the charging process. A small dip in DLi at the beginning stage of Li deintercalation is correlated with the oxidation of Mn3+ to Mn4+. While two pronounced DLi minima at 4.7 V and 4.75 V are due to the oxidation of Ni2+/Ni3+ and Ni3+/Ni4+ respectively. The depletion of DLi at the high voltage region is attributed to the occurrence of two successive phase transformation phenomena.

  • The exchange bias field ($H_{EX}$) and the coercivity ($H_C$) variation and change depending on the thickness of intermediately super-soft magnetic NiFeCuMo layer with different thickness of the bottom NiFe layer were investigated. The $H_{EX}$ of triple pinned NiFe(4 nm)/NiFeCuMo($t_{NiFeCuMo}$= 1 nm)/NiFe(4 nm)/FeMn multilayer has the maximum value more less than one of single pinned NiFe(8 nm)/FeMn layer. If NiFeCuMo layer is inserted each into between the pinned and free NiFe layers, we can be used as GMR-SV device for a bio-sensor that has improved magnetic sensitivity.

  • The variation of Composition and the microstructure of Zn-Ni alloy electrodespposits were investigated to the electrolysis conditions chloride bath. The codeposition mechanism is of the equilibrium type in the electrolysis condition of the high temperature(6$0^{\circ}C$)and high flow rate (1.2-3.0m/sec). The(411, 330) perferred orienation was mainly developed in the Zn-Ni electrodeposir with ${\gamma}$-phase structure, while the(422.600) orientation was closely related to the commposition and the structure of the alloy electrodeposit.

  • Recently there were many studies on the development of cast iron for increasing strength, thermal resistance and mechanical properties, etc. The effects on mechanical properties and variation of solidification structure of hypo-eutectic cast iron was investigated when Ni(Al) was added with a fixed quantity of Al(Ni) content. The conclusions are as follows. 1) Tensile strength was the maximum(over 41 kg/ $mm^2$) when Al is added about 0.72%. 2) Torsional strength and angle were increased with increasing Al content and represents maximum value, when Al and Ni content are 1.5 and 2.0%. 3) With increasing Ni content, tensile strength decreased because of the effect of graphite coarsening. But torsional strengths were increased with the appropriate addition of (Ni%+Al%) content because of the effect of strengthened matrix.
