LTCC를 위한 NiCuZn 페라이트계와 유전체의 이종접합의 특성 (The Characteristics of Hetero Junction Using NiCuZn Ferrite and Dielectric for LTCC)

  • The hetero junction on dielectrics and ferrite for LTCC was prepared by using NiCuZn ferrite. The shrinkage behaviour of ferrite tapes in combination with a dielectric tape was investigated. The characteristics of NiCuZn ferrite were investigated using XRD (X-ray diffractometer), Dilatometer, FE-SEM (Field emission scanning electron microscope), EDS (Energy dispersive spectrometer). NiCuZn ferrite calcined at $700^{\circ}C$ had a good apparent density and initial permeability of magnetic properties. The shrinkage rate of the NCZF700 ferrite and dielectric material was similar. The multilayer revealed dense, uniform morphologies with excellent interface quality. Diffusion of hetero junction such as dielectric and ferrite was not occuring at $900^{\circ}C$.

  • We fabricated 18cm YBCO coated conductor comprising a YBCO superconducting film and CeO$_2$/YSZ/CeO$_2$ buffer films deposited on a biaxially textured Ni tape. For those film fabrications, we developed a new method, the cylindrical holder in a double chamber. This is alternative to the reel-to-reef method which is commonly tried to fabricate a long YBCO coated tape. We will discuss about the superconducting properties of the 18cm long YBCO coated tapes.

  • In-situ lithiated NiO has been manufactured as a conventional cathode material of molten carbonate fuel cell (MCFC), however this material has a weakness for commercialization of MCFC because NiO is spontaneously dissolved into the electrolyte under MCFC operating conditions, resulting in short circuit between cathode and anode. In this research, therefore, $Co(OH)_2$-coated Ni powder was prepared by precipitation method with controlling pH at low temperature and atmospheric pressure. Modified cathode was fabricated by a conventional tape casting method and sintered at 700$^{\circ}C$ in a $H_2/N_2$ atmosphere, Based on characterization result, Pore size distribution and porosity was suitable for the cathode of MCFC. According to the result of dissolution, Ni solubility of modified cathode was 33% lower than that of conventional cathode. In addition, modified electrode showed a good performance from the single cell operation.

  • Three film deposition systems (pulsed laser deposition, sputtering, and evaporation) equipped with reel-to-reel metal tape moving apparatus were installed and used to make meter-long coated conductor. Buffer architecture of $CeO_2/YSZ/Y_2O_3$ was deposited on Ni alloy using sputtering, evaporation, and PLD. YBCO superconducting layer was continuously deposited on buffered metal tape by PLD. End-to-end critical current ($I_c$) of 107 A at 77 K, self-field has been achieved in 1 em-wide tape (thickness 0.6∼1.0${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, tape moving speed 54∼72 cm/hr) over 1 meter length.

  • We fabricated textured Ni substrate for YBCO coated film and evaluated the degree of texture in terms of rolling condition and annealing time. The substrate was compacted from pure Ni powder and reduced the thickness to 100 $\mu$m by rolling followed by heat treatment. As decreasing the thickness of substrate, it was observed that the non-uniform deformation such as ‘wave edge’ or ‘wave buckle’ developed locally on it, causing reduced texture. On the other hand, uniformly deformed substrate showed better cube texture indicating the FWHM of in-plane and out-of-plane of about $11^{\circ}$ ~ $14^{\circ}$. In addition, annealing at $1000^{\circ}C$ for 1~ 8 hr did not make a remarkable difference on the texture.

Relations between tensile stresses and critical current densities of coated conductors

  • The relations between tensile stresses and critical current densities (J$_c$) of coated conductors were measured. Around 320 MPa of tensile stress, the critical current densities of coated conductor fabricated on pure Ni tape were reduced to zero at 77K, where J$_c$ for zero stress was order of 10$^5$A/cm. The critical tensile stress was much enhanced for the coated conductors fabricated on NiCr alloy tapes. However fabrication conditions for the growth on such alloys are much different from those on the pure Ni and it was not easy to get good textures and large critical currents. The detailed fabrication methods on those alloys will be presented.

  • Fabrication of c-axis oriented $(Hg_{0.75}Rc_{0.25})Ba_2Ca_2Cu_3O_y$ thick fabricated has been attempted using Ni substrates with the buffer layer of Cr or NiO. Coexistence of $(Hg_{0.75}Rc_{0.25})Ba_2Ca_3Cu_4O_y$ pellets wad found to stabilize $(Hg_{0.75}Rc_{0.25})Ba_2Ca_2Cu_3O_y$ phase of the tape. The c-axis oriented tapes were reproducibly obtained on the NiO/Ni substerate and they recorded high $B_{irr}$ at 77K.$(Hg_{0.75}Rc_{0.25})Ba_2Ca_2Cu_3O_y$ 1223.

분말 모합금 빌렛으로부터 제조된 Ni-W 합금테이프의 기계적 성질과 집합도 (Texture and Mechanical Properties of Ni-W Alloy Tapes Fabricated from Powder Mother Billets)

  • The mother Ni-W (1-5 wt.%) alloy billets for coated conductor substrate were fabricated by powder metallurgy process. The tensile test results for the sintered Ni-W rods showed the increase of mechanical strength and decrease of ductility with increasing W content due to the solid solution hardening. All the fracture surfaces of the tested specimens showed the typical ductile fracture mode of dimple rupture due to the local necking. The Ni-W alloy billets were made into tape by cold rolling. After the appropriate heat treatment for recrystallization, the brass texture formed by the cold rolling was converted to the complete cube texture. The in-plane and out of plane texture of the tapes estimated by x-ray pole figure were smaller than 9 degree and 7 degree, respectively. The effect of the W addition on the texture development seems not to be significant.
