해양환경 중에서 Cr도금의 부식 특성에 관한 연구 (The Study on the Corrosion Characteristics of Cr Plating in Marine Environment)

  • 해양환경의 비저항 변화에 따른 모재, Ni도금 및 Cr도금의 분극저항, 부식전류밀도, 부식억제율 및 분극지배기구에 관하여 연구한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1) Cr도금 및 Ni도금의 분극저항은 모재의 분극저항보다 더 높게 나타나고, 이들 재료의 분극저항은 비저항이 감소함에 따라 낮아진다. 2) 비저항이 낮아질수록 Cr도금 및 Ni도금의 부식전류밀도는 모재의 부식전류보다 더 억제됨에 따라 Ni 및 Cr도금의 부식억제율은 더 높게 된다. 3) 해양환경의 비정항에 따른 모재, Ni도금 및 Cr 도금의 부식반응은 음극지배로 판단된다.(이 논문의 결론부분임)

전해도금에 의한 Ni-C 복합층의 내식성 및 표면 전기저항 (Corrosion and Surface Resistance of Ni-C Composite by Electrodeposition)

  • Simultaneous Ni and C codeposition by electrolysis was investigated with the aim of obtaining better corrosion resistivity and surface conductivity of a metallic bipolar plate for application in fuel cells and redox flow batteries. The carbon content in the Ni-C composite plate fell in a range of 9.2~26.2 at.% as the amount of carbon in the Ni Watt bath and the roughness of the composite were increased. The Ni-C composite with more than 21.6 at.% C content did not show uniformly dispersed carbon. It also displayed micro-sized defects such as cracks and crevices, which result in pitting or crevice corrosion. The corrosion resistance of the Ni-C composite in sulfuric acid is similar with that of pure Ni. Electrochemical test results such as passivation were not satisfactory; however, the Ni-C composite still displayed less than $10^{-4}$ $A/cm^2$ passivation current density. Passivation by an anodizing technique could yield better corrosion resistance in the Ni-C composite, approaching that of pure Ni plating. Surface resistivity of pure Ni after passivation was increased by about 8% compared to pure Ni. On the other hand, the surface resistivity of the Ni-C composite with 13 at.% C content was increased by only 1%. It can be confirmed that the metal plate electrodeposited Ni-C composite can be applied as a bipolar plate for fuel cells and redox flow batteries.

전조 후 Zn-Ni 전기도금한 강 볼트의 염수분무 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Salt Spray Test of Roll Formed and Zn-Ni Electrodeposited Steel Bolts)

  • Roll formed steel bolts are electrodeposited with Zn-Ni to protect themselves from corrosion. However, white storage stain or white rust(corrosion) is found on Zn-Ni electrodeposited surface of steel bolts when they are exposed to moisture. In this paper a new process is introduced to protect Zn-Ni electrodeposited steel bolt from white storage stain or white rust for a long time under the salt spray test and high humidity test conditions. The better corrosion resistance could be gotten by the additional process of Ni-P electroless deposition and heat treatment to conventional manufacturing method of Zn-Ni coated steel bolt. The corrosion resistance of Zn-Al powder slurry coated steel bolt showed better than that of Zn-Ni electrodeposited one.

  • A Ni-W thin-film was synthesized by electrodeposition, and its corrosion resistance and electrical surface conductivity were investigated. Amount of tungsten in the Ni-W thin-film increased linearly with current density during the electrodeposition, and crack-free and low-crystalline Ni-21 at.%W coating layer was obtained. Corrosion resistances of the Ni-W thin-films were examined with an anodic polarization method and a storage test in a strong sulfuric acid solution. As a result, the Ni-21 at.%W thin-film exhibited the greatest corrosion resistance, and maintained the electrical surface conductivity even after the severe corrosion test, which could be applicable as a surface treatment for advanced metallic bipolar plates in fuel cell or redox flow battery systems.

철소지 위에 형성된 니켈 및 니켈-크롬 도금층의 염수분무, 캐스, 전해부식시험법을 이용한 내식성평가 (Evaluation of the Corrosion Resistance of Plated Ni and Ni-Cr Layers on Fe Substrate by Using Salt Spray, CASS and EC Tests)

  • Salt spray, CASS(copper accelerated acetic salt spray) and EC(electrolytic corrosion) tests were performed in order to evaluate the corrosion resistance of plated Ni and Ni-Cr layers on Fe substrate. Compared with the conventional methods such as salt spray and CASS, the electrochemical method such as EC test may be beneficial in terms of test time span and quantitative accuracy. Furthermore, EC test can also become the alternative method to evaluate the resistance to corrosion of coatings by measuring the corrosion potentials of the coated layers in the electrolyte during the off-time of EC cycles. Compared with the corrosion potentials of pure iron, nickel, chromium, those potentials of coated layers can be used to anticipate the extent of corrosion. Results showed that in terms of the test time span, EC test gave 14 times and 21 times faster results than the salt spray test in cases of $5\mu\textrm{m}$ Ni and $20\mu\textrm{m}$ Ni plated layers, respectively. In addition, EC test also offered the shorter test time span than CASS test in cases of $5 \mu\textrm{m}$ Ni + $0.5\mu\textrm{m}$ Cr, and $20\mu\textrm{m}$ Ni + $0.5\mu\textrm{m}$ Cr on Fe substrate by 78 times and 182 times, respectively. Therefore, EC test can be regarded as the better method to evaluate the resistance to corrosion of coated layers than the conventional methods such as salt spray and CASS.

  • LiCl-$Li_2O-O_2$ 용융염계에서 용융염 취급장치의 구조재료를 위한 평가의 일환으로 Inconel 718, X-750, Haynes 75, 263 합금의 부식거동을 분위기온도; $650^{\circ}C$, 부식시간: 24~168h, $Li_2O$농도; 3wt%, 혼합가스농도; Ar-10%$O_2$에서 조사하였다. LiCl-$Li_2O-O_2$ 용융염계에서 부식속도는 Haynes 263 < Haynes 75 < Inconel X-750 < Inconel 718 순서로 나타났으며, Haynes 263 합금이 가장 우수한 내부식성을 나타내었다. Haynes 75의 부식생성물은 $Cr_2O_4$, $NiFe_2O_4$, $LiNiO_2$, $Li_2NiFe_2O_4$, Inconel 718의 부식생성물은 $Cr_2O_4$$NiFe_2O_4$ 이며 Haynes 263은 $Li(Ni,Co)O_2$, $NiCr_2O_4$$LiTiO_2$, Inconel X-750은 $Cr_2O_3$, $NiFe_2O_4$,$FeNi_3$, (Al,Nb,Ti)$O_2$의 부식생성물을 나타내었다. Haynes 263은 국부부식의 거동을 보이는 반면, Haynes 75, Inconel 718 및 Inconel X-750은 전면 부식 거동을 나타내었다.

  • The corrosion properties of Ni-Cr-W-Mo-B alloy sprayed by the high velocity oxy-fuel spraying (HVOF) was studied as a function of heat treatment by using both potentiodynamic polarization and immersion tests in the H₂SO₄ solution. The mechanical property was also evaluated by a microhardness tester. Microstructural characteristics of te as-sprayed and annealed coatings at 550, 750 and 950℃ have been analyzed by means of OM, XRD, SEM and TEM. The results showed that the corrosion resistance was improved by increasing the annealing temperature. As-sprayed coating had metastable and heterogeneous phases such as amorphous, nanocrystalline and very refined grain and precipitates, which induced a localized corrosion. The localized corrosion occurred preferentially at the unmelted particles which were composed of Ni matrix and Cr, W and Mo riched phase segregated in the boundaries. As annealing temperature was increased, the microstructure had shown some changes - reduction of porosity and s[plat boundary decomposition and crystallization of amorphous/nanocrystalline phases, grain coarsening,, formation and growth of precipitates such as {TEX}$M_{23}C_{6}${/TEX} and {TEX}$M_{7}C_{3}${/TEX}. In addition, the compositional difference between matrix and boundary phases gradually disappeared, which changed the corrosion type from localized corrosion to general corrosion and thus enhanced corrosion resistance.

CoCrTa/CrNi 자기기록매체의 열처리에 따른 부식거동 변화 (The Effect of Annealing on Corrosion Behavior of CoCrTa/CrNi Magnetic Recording Media)

  • 본 연구에서는 e-beam evaporator를 사용하여 제조한 CoCrTa/CrNi 박막시편의 자성층 두께에 따른 부식특성과 열처리에 따른 부식특성의 변화를 알아보았다. Potentiodynamic scan을 이용하여 알아본 결과, 자성층 두께가 증가함에 따라 부식전위가 낮아지고, 부동태 전류밀도가 감소함을 알 수 있었다. XRD를 이용한 분석결과에 따르면, 이것은 자성층 두께가 증가함에 따라 (100)면보다 수소과전압이 큰 (0002)면으로 우선 성장했기 때문이다. 열처리에 따른 CoCrTa(400$\AA$) 자성박막의 부식특성 변화를 potentiodynamic scan과 accelerated corrosion chamber test를 이용하여 알아본 결과, 열처리후 박막시편의 내부식성이 우수해짐을 알 수 있었다. 이것은 열처리에 의해 자성층위에 Cr 산화물층이 형성되고, 이 산화물층이 자성층의 보호막으로 작용했기 때문이다.

  • The improved properties of corrosion for 90Cu10NiFe alloy in natural seawater were explained by sodium diethyl dithio carbamate(NaDDC), namely organic compound, which is reagent for heavy metal extractions of waste water. The efficiency of NaDDC as corrosion inhibitor for 90Cu10NiFe alloy has been investigated in seawater after immersion in various concentrations of NaDDC solutions for 12~36hrs at pH 8.2 by weight loss test and electrochemical techniques including potentiodynamic polarization and SEM-EDS measurements. The results showed that the corrosion resistance of 90Cu10NiFe alloy improves with the increasing concentration of NaDDC but it did not improves with increasing time any more, so the highest inhibition efficiency was 93% at 100mg/L, 36hrs. The results obtained from weight losses and corrosion rates in polarization curve measurements were in good agreement. Therefore, it showed that NaDDC is a good inhibitor for copper corrosion of 90Cu10NiFe alloy.

비정질 $Zr_{65}Al_8Ni_{15}Cu_{12}$ 금속합금의 전기화학적 부식 특성 (Electrochemical Corrosion Behaviors of Amorphous $Zr_{65}Al_8Ni_{15}Cu_{12}$ Alloy)

  • This study was undertaken to measure the electrochemical corrosion of amorphous $Zr_{65}Al_8Ni_{15}Cu_{12}$ (at.%) alloy ribbon under various conditions, including 0.4 mM HCl solution, and for various values of the pH and the immersion time. The corrosion potentials($E_{corr}$) for the amorphous $Zr_{65}Al_8Ni_{15}Cu_{12}$ alloy in 0.4 mM HCl decreased with increasing temperature; the corrosion current density($I_{corr}$) increased with increasing temperature in general. The polarization resistance($R_p$) was inversely proportional to the corrosion rate. While pH=7, 9, 11 was not as sensitive as pH=3, 5, pH=3 was more sensitive for amorphous $Zr_{65}Al_8Ni_{15}Cu_{12}$ alloy than other pHs specially. The change of mass in the 70 mM $H_2SO_4$ solution with immersion time was the greatest in the first 100 h.
