Relationships among Alloying Elements, Destabilization Conditions & Retained Austenite in Eutectic High Chromium White Cast Irons

  • 다섯 조성의 서로 다른 Mo, Ni 및 Mn함량을 지닌 3 mass% C-20 mass% Cr 공정조성의 백주철을 질소분위기하에서, 1173, 1273 및 1373 $^{\circ}K$의 온도로 3.6, 7.2, 14.4 및 28.8 ks동안 불안정화열처리를 행한 후 공냉시켜 잔류오스테나이트를 측정한 결과 합금원소함량, 불안정화열처리조건 및 $V{\Upsilon}$사이에 다음과 같은 관계를 얻었다. 즉 Mo, Ni 및 Mn을 첨가한 결과, 주방상태에서 79.89${\sim}$91.65 vol.%범위의 $V{\Upsilon}$가 얻어 졌으며 퍼얼라이트는 전혀 생성되지 않았다. 1173 $^{\circ}K$에서 불안정화열처리를 한 경우에는 무수히 작은 이차탄화물이 석출하였으나 온도가 높아 질수록 그 수는 점차 감소하여 1373 $^{\circ}K$에서는 거의 관찰되지 않았다. 1173 및 1373 $^{\circ}K$에서 불안정화열처리를 한 경우, 불안정화열처리시간의 증가에 따른 $V{\Upsilon}$의 변화는 미미하였으나 1273 $^{\circ}K$의 경우에는 감소하였다. 또한 Mo, Ni 및 Mn의 첨가량이 많아짐에 따라 $V{\Upsilon}$는 증가하였으며 이 두 함수사이의 관계식을 정립시키기 위하여 P인자를 도입하였다.

  • We produced $(Co_{93}Cr_{7})-P-Ni$ thin films for longitudinal magnetic recording media using OC magnetron sputtering system The variation of magnetic properties of $(Co_{93}Cr_{7})-P-Ni$ pseudo-ternary system with the composition was examined. We obtained the coercivity up to 1500 Oe. The coercivity iocrease could be ascribed to in-plane anisotropy enhaocement, grain size decrease, magnetic decoupling between particles. TEM micrographs showed that the grains were well-decoupled by the addition of phosphorous.

  • We studied on Solide Oxide Fuel cells, have some advantages of higher power density and less cost for power-supply. Recently, Ni-YSZ materials are used as anode of SOFC. If its contents of Ni is higher then its electronic conductivity is higher. And If it has inverse tendency then its ionic conductivity become higher. So in this experiments, we investicated the optimum content of Ni, by testing expansion coefficient, impedance characteristics, overvoltage.

  • Ni-W 합금의 고경도 특성을 연구하기 위하여 전해 도금 방법을 이용하여 Ni-W 합금을 제작하였다. 전해 도금시 여러 가지 제어인자 중 전류밀도, pH, Ni 금속염의 양 그리고 도금욕의 온도 등을 변수로 하여 실험을 하였다. 도금층 내 Ni과W의 함량 조성비를 EDS를 이용하여 분석하였으며, 각각의 변수에 따른 Ni-W 합금의 결정구조를 XRD를 이용하여 측정하였다. Ni-W 합금 도금층내 성분 조성비 및 결정구조에 따른 경도를 비커스 경도계를 이용하여 측정하였다.

Distribution of Heavy Metal Contents in Medicinal Plants and Soils with Soil Texture (약용작물(藥用作物)과 그 재배토양(栽培土壤)의 토성별(土性別) 중금속함량(重金屬含量) 분포(分布))

  • This survey was conducted to investigate the distribution of heavy metal contents in medicinal plants and soils. Plant and soil samples were collected at 254 sites(Angelica gigas : 81, Astragalus membranceus : 38, Platycodn glandiflorum : 36, Paeonia albilora : 34, Codonopsis lanoceolata : 32, Ligusticum chuanxiong : 17, Bupleurum falcatum : 16, respectively) over the country, Soil texture, pH values and heavy metal content of soils and medicinal plants were evaluated as major factors. Soil texture classification showed that sandy loam, loam, loamy sand and silt loam were 46.1%, 26.0%, 19.3% and 8.6% of the total, respectively. The contents of O.M, Ex.Ca. Ex.Mg and EC value were higher in loamy(sandy loam, loam and silt loam)soils than in sandy(loamy sand)soils, but available $P_2O_5$ contents of loamy sand soils were higher than those of sandy loam, loam, and silt loam. The contents of Cd, Cu, Pb, Zn and Ni in soil were high in loamy soils, while Cr content was high in loamy silt soils. The contents of Cu and Cr in Angelica gigas were high in loamy soils, and those of Pb in Astragalus membranceus, Paeonia albiflora and Codonopsis lanoceolata were high in sandy loam soils. Correlation coefficients between heavy metal contents in medicinal plants and their soils with soil texture were positively correlated in sandy loam and loam at Cu, loam at Zn, sandy loam, loam and loamy sand at Cr, respectively. Correlation coefficients between pH value of the soils and contents of Cd, Zn and Ni in medicinal plants were negatively correlated, but those of Cd, Pb, Zn and Ni in soils were positively correlated.

  • In this study, synthesized Ni/CexZr1-xO2 catalysts were coated on the surface of honeycomb metalic monoliths to investigate catalytic activity in steam reforming of methane reactions. Supports with varying Ce/Zr ratios were synthesized to observe their behavior in the reforming reaction, and catalysts with Ni contents ranging from 5 wt% to 20 wt% were prepared to analyze the effect of Ni loading contents on catalytic activity. The catalysts were characterized by XRD, BET, TPR, and SEM. The TPR analysis indicated the formation of Ni-Ce-Zr oxide with a strong interaction between the active metal Ni and CeO2-ZrO2 support. The 15 wt% Ni/Ce0.80Zr0.20O2 catalyst exhibited the highest activity and stability in the steam reforming of methane reaction. Catalysts with enhanced activity and stability were synthesized by manufacturing composite materials using excellent oxygen storage and donor properties of CeO2 and the thermal properties of ZrO2.

Characteristic Evaluation of WC Hard Materials According to Ni Content Variation by a Pulsed Current Activated Sintering Process (펄스전류활성 소결 공정을 이용한 Ni 함량변화에 따른 WC 소재의 특성평가)

  • Expensive PCBN or ceramic cutting tools are used for the processing of difficult-to-cut materials such as Ti and Ni alloy materials. These tools have a problem of breaking easily due to their high hardness but low fracture toughness. To solve this problem, cutting tools that form various coating layers are used in low-cost WC-Co hard material tools, and researches on various tool materials are being conducted. In this study, WC-5, 10, and 15 wt%Ni hard materials for difficult-to-cut cutting materials are densified using horizontal ball milled WC-Ni powders and pulsed current activated sintering method (PCAS method). Each PCASed WC-Ni hard materials are almost completely dense, with a relative density of up to 99.7 ~ 99.9 %, after the simultaneous application of pressure of 60 MPa and electric current for 2 min; process involves almost no change in the grain size. The average grain sizes of WC and Ni for WC-5, 10, and 15 wt%Ni hard materials are about 1.09 ~ 1.29 and 0.31 ~ 0.51 µm, respectively. Vickers hardness and fracture toughness of WC-5, 10, and 15 wt%Ni hard materials are about 1,923 ~ 1,788 kg/mm2 and 13.2 ~ 14.3 MPa.m1/2, respectively. Microstructure and phase analyses of PCASed WC-Ni hard materials are performed.

  • Some major and minor geochemical contents, such as Zr, Br, Ni, Sr, Zn, Mn, Ti and Fe, of ninety-seven sediment samples from the sea off eastern Korea have been analyzed by the fluorescence spectrometric techniques. Concentrations of elements showed 22-962ppm Zr(averaging 194.4ppm), tr-220 ppm Br(averaging 138.2ppm), 31-141ppm Ni(averaging 89.1ppm), 118-3,494ppm Sr(averaging 448.6ppm) 27-134ppm Zn(averaging 92.5ppm), 38-1,043ppm Mn(averaging 664.2ppm), 0.04-0.42% Ti(averaging 0.29%) and 0.57-4.02% Fe(averaging 2.76%). The ratios of Zn/Ti 10$\^$3/, An/Fe 10$\^$3/ and Ti/Fe were 0.27-6.43(averaging 3.27), 2.25-7.76 (averaging 3.46) and 0.04-0.18(averaging 0.11), respectively. From the results of geochemical analyses of sediments from the sea off eastern Korea represented the different types of sediment pattern are considered between the southern part and the northern part of the sea. The bottom sediments of the southern part were characterized with higher Sr and lower Zn, Br contents; higher Zr and lower Br contents; lower Br and lower Zn, Ti and Fe contents; and lower Zn and lower Ti and Fe contents.
