The rocket technology has the best reliability and the high acceleration performance currently. In addition, next generation propulsion system is acquired to low cost and high payload percentage at that same time. This work is to improve the performance of Diskshaped MHD accelerator which is expected as the one of the solution. In this study we have been focusing on the swirl vane. It is so important to know that how the swirl vane contribute the plasma and its performance. As results, the gas velocities of r-component with inlet swirl were increased about over 3000m/s at the channel exit. And then static gas pressure were also reduced, we found that the case with inlet swirl gives the good influence to the acceleration performance. And the difference of the acceleration by positive and negative inlet swirl is that gas velocity of $\theta$-component may operate to the electric field.
In the next generation wireless communication system, the beamforming technique based on a massive antenna is one of core technologies for transmitting and receiving huge amounts of data, efficiently and accurately. For highly performed and highly reliable beamforming, it is required to accurately estimate the Angle of Arrival (AOA) for the desired signal incident to an antenna. Employing the massive antenna with a large number of elements, although the accuracy of the AOA estimation is enhanced, its computational complexity is dramatically increased so much that real-time communication is difficult. In order to improve this problem, AOA estimation algorithms based on the massive antenna with the low computational complexity have been actively studied. In this paper, we compute and analyze the computational complexity of the cascade AOA estimation algorithm based on the Flexible Massive Concentric Circular Array (FMCCA). In addition, its computational complexity is compared to conventional AOA estimation techniques such as the Multiple Signal Classification (MUSIC) algorithm with the high resolution and the Only Beamspace MUSIC (OBM) algorithm.

Vehicular networks are part of the next generation wireless and smart Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). In the future, autonomous vehicles will be an integral part of ITS and will provide safe and reliable traveling features to the users. The reliability and security of data transmission in vehicular networks has been a challenging task. To manage data transmission in vehicular networks, road networks are divided into clusters and a cluster head is selected to handle the data. The selection of cluster heads is a challenge as vehicles are mobile and their connectivity is dynamically changing. In this paper, a novel secure cluster head selection algorithm is proposed for secure and reliable data sharing. The idea is to use the secrecy rate of each vehicle in the cluster and adaptively select the most secure vehicle as the cluster head. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme improves the reliability and security of the transmission significantly.
Many of studies on the transovarial transmission of occult virus and their activation due to various stresses such as cold or heat treatment, chemical feeding, and nutritional deficiency, etc., in the silkworm, Bombyx mori L. have been made, but any attempts have been not made to control virus diseases by detection of the occult virus-carried moths in the production of silkworm egg of hybrids, because of difficulty to detect occult virus in any stage. Therefore, it may be worth while to disclose whether a sublethal infection of the moths from which active virus are detectable, has the same level of induction rate as that of occult virus activation, thus to apply its results for the reduction of the occurence of virus diseases in silkworm rearing. For these purposes, the following experiment was conducted as one of preliminary steps. In this study, investigations on the generation-to-generation transmission of occult virus and a sublethal infection, and the role of chromosomal gene of the host, Jam 103 and Jam 104 in the Previous generation, and Jam 103 x Jam 103 and Jam 104 f Jam 104 in the next generation were made for the induction of virus diseases due to the transmitted virus. The frequency of cytoplasmic polyhedrosis due to the induction in the F$_1$ generation was markedly higher in the cross-batches, male$\times$female and male$\times$female in which inoculated individuals were used as fem ale parents than in the cross-batches, male$\times$female and male$\times$female in which virus has been not inoculated or inoculated only to male in the previous generation. The tendency of increasing rate was observed in any treatments; such as the inoculations of cytoplasmic polyhedrosis virus (10$\^$5/, 10$\^$6/ 10$\^$7, and 10$\^$8//ml ill different concentration of inocula) , cold-treatment (5$^{\circ}C$, 12hrs or 24hrs), and formalin-feeding treatment (2% or 3%). The shape of polyhedra (tetragonal in outline) examined in the F, larvae was identified as that of the inoculated polyhedra with partial application of immunofluorescent techniques. These results suggests that the cytoplasmic polyhedrosis virus in B. meri L. are transmitted to the next generation through the egg, apparently in the occult state. And the experimental results of various cross-batches revealed the egg cytoplasm plays an important part i the transmission of the occult virus of the cytoplasmic polyhedrosis virus,

In this paper, we propose a hybrid approach of combining $A^*$ and Genetic algorithm in the path search problem. In $A^*$, the cost from a start node to the intermediate node is optimized in principle but the path from that intermediate node to the goal node is generated and tested based on the cumulated cost and the next node in a priority queue is chosen to be tested. In that process, we adopt the genetic algorithm principle in that the group of nodes to generate the next node from an intermediate node is tested by its fitness function. Top two nodes are selected to use crossover or mutation operation to generate the next generation. If generated nodes are qualified, those nodes are inserted to the priority queue. The proposed method is compared with the original sequential selection and the random selection of the next searching path in $A^*$ algorithm and the result verifies the superiority of the proposed method.

We sampled vomit of black-faced spoonbills(Platalea minor) during the brood-rearing season (from June 2011 to June 2014) at the Namdong reservoir in Incheon and analyzed the food components in the vomit using microscopy and next-generation sequencing (NGS). Microscopic observations primarily helped in identifying osteichthyes (bony fishes), crustaceans, and polychaetes. In particular, species belonging to the families Mugilidae and Gobiidae among the fish, and Macrophthalmus japonicas among the crustaceans, were observed at high frequency. Results of NGS analysis revealed the predominant presence of bony fish (42.58% of total reads) and crustaceans (40.75% of total reads), whereas others, such as polychaetes (12.66%), insects (0.24%), and unidentified species (3.78%), occurred in lower proportions. At the species level, results of NGS analysis revealed that Macrophthalmus abbreviates and Macrobrachium sp. among the crustaceans, and Acanthogobius hasta, Tridentiger obscurus, and Pterogobius zacalles among the bony fish, made up a high proportion of the total reads. These food species are frequently found at tidal flats in the Songdo and Sihwa lakes, emphasizing the importance of these areas as potential feeding sites of the black-faced spoonbill. Feed composition of the black-faced spoonbill, as evaluated by analyzing its vomit, differed when the evaluations were done by microscopic observation or by NGS analysis. Evaluation by microscopic observation is difficult and not error free, owing to the degradation of the samples to be analyzed; however, NGS analysis is more accurate, because it makes use of genetic information. Therefore, accurately analyzing food components from morphologically indistinguishable samples is possible by using genetic analysis.

Motivated reasoning refers to biased reasoning that is affected by motivation to achieve a particular result or goal. In this study, we attempted a theoretical study on motivated reasoning that hinders the development of scientific thinking and empirical study on actual context of motivated reasoning in the research experiences of next-generation Korean researchers in the field of science and technology. To be specific, literature reviews were conducted to explore the psychological meaning of motivated reasoning and its negative impact on scientific thinking and science research. To understand the substantial meaning and context of motivated reasoning in the field of real science and technology research, we conducted in-depth interviews with eight graduate students and one young science and technology researcher. As a result of the literature reviews, we found out that motivated reasoning can interfere with the proper theory and data coordination, which is the core process of scientific thinking at the individual level. At the socio-cultural level, it can lead to cessation of constructing scientific knowledge and it can act as a mechanism in the process of using science for specific socio-cultural beliefs or purposes, thereby hindering the development of science and technology based on rationale and objective scientific thinking. Quantitative analysis with in-depth interview data showed that graduate students and the young researcher's experienced motivated reasoning results in trying to protect prior beliefs, make hasty conclusions, protecting socio-cultural belief or rationalizing decisions made by their community. Their motivated reasoning could become an obstacle in constructing valid science and technology knowledge through appropriate theory and evidence coordination. Based on these findings we discussed science education for improving scientific thinking.
In this paper, the durability of an electromagnetic metamaterial absorber is verified in a temperature varying condition mimicking a maritime environment for the purpose of applying it to reduce the radar cross section of an integrated mast of the next-generation destroyer. To validate the durability, the reflectance of the electromagnetic metamaterial absorber was measured after storing it in a chamber that can control the temperature according to Procedure I of Method 501.7 included in MIL-STD-810H. Before and after the environmental test, both of the measured reflectances were retained less than -10 dB over the X band, that can guarantee the stealth functionality.
