This study was to provide fundamental information on the characteristics and the process of water pollution in Korea and to establish proper policy and strategies to establish proper policy and strategies to deal with the future situation. Content analysis method with a daily newspaper was applied to achieve the purpose of the study. Total 447 articles about water pollution were obtained from the DongA daily newspaper during 1920-1993. The results showed like there. The articles were categorized to three aspects: water pollutant, the affect of the water pollution, and management and measures of water quality. Based on the number of articles and the analysis of the content, the transition of water pollution could be categorized to four periods. 1920~1971 (Period 1), 1972~1978(Period 2). 1979~1990(Period 3.). 1991~1993(Period 4).

본 연구의 목적은 신문기사 분석을 통하여 한국 사회의 고령화 사회에 대한 인식과 대책을 분석하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 조선일보, 중앙일보, 경향신문, 한겨레신문 4개의 주요 일간지를 대상으로 고령화 사회에 대한 472건의 기사를 통하여 내용분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 고령화 사회에 진입하면서 고령화 사회에 대한 관심이 지속적으로 증가하고 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 인식과 대책은 경제적인 영역을 중심으로 다루어지고 있음을 볼 수 있었다. 또한 우리 사회가 고령화 사회를 긍정적이고 중립적으로 바라보는 관점이 증가한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 본 연구는 고령화 사회와 관련된 다양한 영역에 관심을 가질 필요가 있으며, 현실적인 문제 파악과 실제적인 욕구에 부합하는 대책이 마련되어져야 함을 제시하였다. 또한 앞으로는 우리 사회만이 갖는 특수한 상황이나 문제점에 주목하여 그에 대한 대책 논의와 연구도 함께 진행되어야 할 것이다.

본 연구는 노베르트 엘리아스의 진행형 사회학 알려진 문명화 과정 이론을 중심으로 전통적으로 비영어권 또는 아시아권 영화에 대한 시상이 드물었던 아카데미 시상식에서 처음으로 4개 부문의 오스카 트로피를 수상한 영화 <기생충>과의 '기득권과 아웃사이더 (Elias & Scotson, 1994)' 권력관계를 연구했다. 연구 분석을 위하여 지난 제92회 수상식 전후 한 달 기간의 미국과 한국 6개의 신문을 질적 내용분석을 했다. 첫 번째로, 전통적으로 아카데미 시상식은 비영어권 또는 아시아권 영화들에 기득권적 배경이 있었다. 하지만 지난 제92회 시상식에서 영화 <기생충>의 4개 부문 수상으로 전통적인 아카데미의 기득권에 변화가 나타났다. 두 번째로 역사적으로 비영어권 영화에 대해 아카데미 시상식의 전통적 낙인(언어적 낙인)과 집단 카리스마 (아카데미 시상식) 등을 확인할 수 있었다. 마지막으로, 아카데미 시상식에 관한 양국 신문 보도는 일반적으로 유사하지만, 한국 신문의 경우 기사를 통한 개인, 사회 그리고 국가의 일체화 양상이 발견되었다.

최근 물리적 재생보다 사회문화적 재생이 더 중요해지면서 지역의 고유한 문화를 활용한 지역자원이 도시재생에서는 중요한 요소가 되고 있다. 이는 관광의 기능과 부합되면서 도시재생에서 관광의 역할은 매우 크다고 할 수 있다. 도시재생에서 관광은 중요한 분야로 다루어지고 있는데 비해 우리나라에서는 아직까지 관련 규정 및 정책이 매우 미흡한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구는 우리사회에서 도시재생에 있어 관광에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있는데에 대한 의미를 분석하고 실증적으로 그 흐름을 파악해보기 위해 우리사회의 관심정도와 변화를 측정할 수 있는 신문기사 게재건수 및 내용을 중심으로 분석해 보았다. 언론보도 빅데이터 분석시스템인 빅카인즈를 이용하여 도시재생과 관광에 관련한 기사를 수집하였으며, 선행연구 검토를 통한 분석단위를 기준으로 하여 게재건수와 내용을 분석하였다. 그 결과 도시재생에 대한 관심정도와 비중이 해마다 증가하고 있음을 확인할 수 있었고, 도지재생사업이 진행될수록 관광에 대한 관심 증가 및 의미를 파악할 수 있었다. 도시재생과 관광에 관련한 기사내용으로는 지역적 속성, 사회문화적 속성, 경제적 속성, 정치 제도적 속성, 물리환경적 속성 순으로 관심을 보이고 있었다. 이러한 결과를 통하여 향후 도시재생사업 추진에 있어 관광 콘텐츠 자체에 대한 질적 제고 및 보다 적극적인 제도마련과 지원정책이 필요함을 제시할 수 있다.

본 연구는 코로나19 상황에서 언론에 드러난 간호사 이미지를 파악하기 위한 목적으로 수행되었다. 국내 주요 일간지 11개의 기사 451건을 바탕으로 월별 보도내용, 간호사 호의도 및 보도비중을 분석하였으며 주제 분석을 통해 5개 주제와 9개 하위주제를 도출하였다. 도출된 주제는 빈도순으로 "열악한 직업환경(47.9%)", "간호, '소명의 직업'(40.4%)", "'전문의료직'으로서의 면모가 부각됨(10.6%)", "엄격한 기준으로 평가됨(1.6%)", "간호의 영역을 확장함(1.1%)"이었다. 전문 의료진으로서의 지식과 술기, 상담·교육·협력 특성보다 노고, 헌신, 이타성과 같은 간호사의 직업윤리가 훨씬 부각되었고, 간호사 처우개선에 대한 국가적 관심이 높아진 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 비대면 원격의료 시대에서의 간호사의 역할과 같은 새로운 면모도 일부 보도되었으나 언론을 통해 대중들에게 각인되는 간호사의 모습은 여전히 제한적임을 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서 간호사의 다양한 역할을 대중들에게 알리고 간호전문직 이미지를 고취시킬 수 있는 간호계의 적극적인 홍보 활동이 필요하다.

일간지 사설이 생산하는 종교담론은 종교의 '신앙 정체성' 담론이기 보다는 '사회관계성' 담론이라 할 수 있다. 사회관계성 담론으로서 개신교 담론에 대한 이해는 한국적 상황에서 진행되는 사회구조적 변동을 배경으로 새롭게 접근할 필요가 있다. 언론이 생산한 공공담론은 사회현실 자체를 사실적으로 반영하기보다는 시공간적 특수성을 전제로 일정한 가치와 잣대로 해석된 현실을 보여준다. 본 연구는 일간지가 생산한 개신교 담론을 구성주의 관점으로 접근한다. 특히 사회구조적 변동으로써 한국적 상황을 세계화(Globalization)론으로 바라본다. 본 연구의 목적은 일간지 사설의 내용분석과 담론분석을 통하여 21세기 한국 상황에서 사회와 개신교의 관계성을 성찰하는 것이다. 사회언론이 생산하는 한국 개신교 담론에 대한 분석적 고찰은 사회와의 건강한 소통을 위한 기초 작업이며 하나님 나라를 추구하는 기독교교육의 실천적 역할과도 연결된다. 최근 18년간(2004~2021) 일간지 사설이 생산한 한국 개신교 담론을 분석한 결과 한국사회와 한국 개신교의 상호충돌적 만남이 광범위하게 진행되고 있음을 발견하였다.

In the current analysis, we examine news coverage data widely used in media studies. News coverage data is usually time series data to capture the volume or the tone of the news media's coverage of a topic. We first describe the distributional properties of autoregressive conditionally heteroscadestic(ARCH) effects and compare two major American newspaper's coverage of U.S.-North Korea relations. Subsequently, we propose a change point detection model and apply it to the detection of major change points in the tone of American newspaper coverage of U.S.-North Korea relations.

The purpose of this study was to use content analysis for the periodic trend of newspapers regarding disabled children in the 1960s (1961, 1962), 1980s (1981, 1982) and 2000s (2001,2002), at intervals of 20 years with the Year of World Disabled People (1981) as the basic point. The results showed that the number of articles was increasing. Topics such as 'medical rehabilitation'. or 'educational environment' were emphasized in the 1960s, 'the environment for social awareness' in the 1980s, and 'educational environment' and 'environment for social awareness' in the 2000s. As for the types of disability, general disability, physical disability, sight impairment, hearing impairment, and other disabilities were covered, but the range of coverage was not comprehensive. The framing pattern followed the trend of the times, with marginal flaming on the decline and diverse framing on the rise. The tones of the articles were positive on the whole.

The traditional newspaper industry faces the opportunities and challenges of industry transformation and integration with new media. Consequently, the catalogs of newspapers and magazines are also updated. In this study, necessary information on catalogs was obtained and used to analyze the overall development trend of the newspaper industry. A word frequency analysis was then performed on the introduction and product categories of the catalogs, and the content and types of newspapers and magazines were examined. Furthermore, related factors such as price, number of pages, publishing frequency, and best-selling status were analyzed; the correlation among factors affecting best-selling status was also explored. Subsequently, each element and a combination of elements were used to generate a dataset, build three classification models, and analyze the accuracy of predictions of whether newspapers sold well under other circumstances. The experimental results showed that price is the most critical factor affecting the best-selling status of newspapers and magazines. Publishing frequency and the number of pages were also found to be significant indicators that impact people's subscription choices. Finally, a competitive strategy regarding content, price, quality, and positioning was developed.

This study aims on observing the social recognition and its aspects for men taking care of their outer appearances at current point where men are rapidly rising as the main consumer in the beauty industry while their interest for outer appearances are increasing. Therefore, we observed the overall trend and changes in social recognition for male looks by analyzing the contents of newspaper articles from 1990 to 2005 that play the critical role of spreading new information trend while reflecting the interest of people of a certain era. As a result, articles related to male looks were divided into fashion, hair, skin and cosmetics, physical image, cosmetic surgery, trend related to male looks, and male oriented stores and sites, and among them, articles related to fashion and skin took up the highest ratio. Especially articles related to the trend took up the largest ratio as it reflects the properties of two industries launching new products. Moreover, articles related to male looks tended to increase generally according to timely changes, and rapidly increased especially since 2000.
