  • Fibromuscular dysplasia (FMD) is a noninflammatory arterial diseases that affects predominantly women. Multiple studies have demonstrated an increased prevalence of FMD in patients who experience carotid or vertebral artery dissection (VAD). This case report presents a 57-year-old female who presented with a headache and was diagnosed with partially thrombosed giant aneurysm of vertebral artery. This aneurysm was successfully treated with flow-diverter and coil, but new onset rupture of vertebral artery was detected two weeks later, leading to internal trapping. This case report underscores the need for awareness and understanding of treatment of dissection and aneurysm in patient who is suspected FMD.

  • This research proposes a new approach to measure corporate contributions to sustainability called Sustainable Value. With some global corporations which recognize the seriousness of environmental crisis and their social responsibility, enterprises are positively accepting the sustainable management. Also, publication of the sustainability report is proliferating which is showing the enterprise's strategy, activity, result and influence in environmental, economic, social cases to the stakeholder. However, to settle and proliferate this current, it rests with how to evaluate enterprises sustainability in reasonable and reliable figure. In this context, what introduced and taking effects are sustainability report evaluation and awarding system. But the quality of sun stainability report and its content's depth and the evaluation of enterprise's sustainability itself should be distinguished. Because the enterprise which published excellent graded sustainability report is not always the enterprise that is sustainable. Then, how could we prove the result of enterprise's sustainable management based on sustainability report? This paper is to find the answer and to utilize it based on sustainability report, particularly sustainable value model as the central figure.

  • As the customer demands thickness quality stricter, new techniques of automatic thickness control(AGC), is adopted to continuous cold rolling mills. The cold rolling mills of Pohang Works have revamped the existing conventional AGC system that control the thickness at all-stands automatically by the mass flow AGC based on the measurement of strip-speed and thickness between mill stands. The No. 2 Cold Rolling Mill be has adopted the New AGC system since Oct. 1995, and The No.1 Cold Rolling Mill since June. 1999. Thanks to the New AGC system, precise control of thickness is possible not only at constant rolling speed region, but also during line speed up and down. This report describes application techniques of the New AGC system and performance of the system.

  • Rotifers collected from mosses, leaf litter, soil, and wetland at six different locations in Korea were investigated. Ten species belonging to six genera in four families of monogonont and bdelloid rotifers were new to Korea: Habrotrocha scepanotrochoides De Koning, 1947, H. tripus (Murray, 1907), Lecane opias (Harring and Myers, 1926), L. perpusilla (Hauer, 1929), Macrotrachela decora (Bryce, 1912), Otostephanos auriculatus auriculatus(Murray, 1911), O. torquatus amoenus Milne, 1916, Scepanotrocha corniculata Bryce, 1910, S. simplex De Koning, 1947, and Testudinella brevicaudata Yamamoto, 1951. Among these 10 Korean new records, Habrotrocha scepanotrochoides, H. tripus, Macrotrachela decora, Otostephanos auriculatus auriculatus, O. torquatus amoenus, Scepanotrocha corniculata, and S. simplex were new to Asia as well. The present study is the first report of the genus Scepanotrocha Bryce, 1910 from Korea. Here, diagnostic characteristics and photomicrographs are provided for each Korean new record. In addition, a partial sequence of mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit 1 gene (mtCOX1) for S. simplex is presented.

  • Until 2000, there were only eight female directors in Korean film history; however, the number of female directors has increased with the number of new movies made and the entrance of new directors. In 2007, there were about seven new female directors and in 2009, there were released 13 movies directed by female. Even though the number of new movies and new entrants of female directors has augmented, the percentage of movies directed by female directors is about 5% of released Korean movies during the past ten years. Moreover, those female directors who enter the Korean film industry are mostly concentrated in low budget independent films. Yet, female directors have been continuously searching and challenging in order to find a way to communicate with general populations. As a result, recently female directors have been noticed in thriller films. This report will analyze how the thriller films directed by female directors have evolved since 2000 based on the status of female directors in commercial films. The report will analyze two thriller films "Helpless" and "Perfect Number", released in 2012.

  • Background: This study examines the clinical effect on quality of life of herbal medicine and local acupuncture point stimulation administration for a cervicogenic dizziness (CGD) patient. This case report was described in accordance with CARE guidelines. Case Report: A 25 year-old female patient suspected to be suffering from CGD was examined. The patient was treated with herbal medicine and local acupuncture point stimulation. We used the Headache Impact Test-6 (HIT-6), Dizziness Handicap Inventory (DHI), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), 36-Item Short Form Health Survey Version 2 (SF-36v2), and verbal numerical rating scale (VNRS) to assess the patient's symptoms. As new herbal medicine and local acupuncture point stimulation were applied, dizziness, headache, and neck pain symptoms improved. Quality of life affected by the symptoms significantly improved. Adverse effects were not observed. Conclusions: This study may suggest that herbal medicine and local acupuncture point stimulation may be effective therapy for the treatment of typical symptoms in patients with CGD.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify the factors influencing the intention to report child abuse of emergency room nurses based on the health belief model. Methods: This was a descriptive study that used a cross-sectional design. A total of 188 emergency room nurses working at general hospitals with more than 300 beds in Seoul participated in the study. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis with the SPSS 25.0 program. Results: Correlations and regression analyses showed that the perceived severity (β=.14, p=.024), perceived barrier (β=-.25, p<.001), and self-efficacy (β=.31, p<.001) were factors influencing emergency room nurses' intention to report child abuse, and the explanatory power of the model was 33.0%. Conclusion: The results of this study related to the health belief model, being a valid theoretical basis for child abuse reporting intention research, significantly suggest new research directions in the future. In addition, to increase the nurses' intention to report child abuse in the emergency room, the influencing factors identified in this study can be utilized and develop specific interventions using the health belief model.

  • In this paper, we report a new damping circuit with a constant damping rate for RFID applications. The proposed damping circuit is used along with a over-voltage limiter and exhibits almost constant damping rates when the distance between the reader and the transponder varies. This results in keeping the power supply voltage of the transponder constant and in improved reading distances.

  • Two marine isopods, Pentias hayi Richardson, 1904 and P. thompsoni Collinge, 1916 were verified as unrecorded species in South Korea. The genus Pentias is reported for the first time in South Korea. These two isopods were collected from Heuksan-do Island and Ulleung-do Island from South Korea, respectively. We provide descriptions of the diagnostic characteristics, illustrations of two species and their partial sequences of the mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit 1 (CO1) for molecular characteristics.
