  • In 2016, grape fruits showing ripe rot symptom were found in fields of Korea. The fungus was isolated and identified as Colletotrichum viniferum based on morphological characteristics and nucleotide sequence data of the internal transcribed spacer, glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase and ${\beta}$-tubulin. To our knowledge, this is the first report of C. viniferum causing grape ripe rot disease of grape fruits in Korea.

  • Collecting data in wireless sensor networks in minimum time is a traditional problem which is known NP-hard. Previous studies built the schedule using the node-based or link-based metrics to prioritize the transmissions. In this work, we combine the effect of both metrics to obtain a smaller aggregation time. We compare our work with state of the art schemes and report the improvement.

  • Inthe prisent paper, we report the study of Korean epitoniid which were collected from12 localities of Korean waters during the span of August 1982 to May 1992. Upon identification of these specimins and riview of the provious ricords, Korean Epitoniidae were found to be composed of 12 species in 10 genera, Among them, following 5 species in 4 genera were turned out to be new to the Korean malacofauna and redescribed with illustrations: Viciniscala liliputana (A. Adams, 1861), Mazescala casta(Sowerby, 1844).

  • We report two species of Eupithecia for the first time from Korea. Two females of Eupithecia sophia Butler were collected from Jejudo Island and Sobaeksan Mt., Danyang, and two males of Eupithecia niphonaria Inoue were collected from Duryunsan Mt., Haenam. Up to now, a total of 51 species of Eupithecia are recorded from Korea. Diagnosis and description of each species are given with the figures of genitalia.

  • In our previous study, the leaves of Ixeris sonchifolia afforded two new and two known guaiane type sesquiterpene lactones by activity-guided fractionation. Now we report additional isolation of sesquiterpene lactones from the roots of Ixeris sanchi!a!ia. They are glucozaluzanin C and ixerin H. Ixerin H is germacranolide type sesquiterpene glucuside. Theil structures were determined by 1 D and 2D NMR spectroscopy. (omitted)

  • We report the synthesis of several new 3-aminohydantoinyl-1.2-benzothiazine derivatives and propose an another mechanism of the cyclization to the hydantoins for the development candidates of COX-2 inhibitors. 3-Aminohydantoins 3a-d were prepared through cyclization of the condensation products that were formed by heating amino acids and tert-bytyl carbazate in quinoline according to the method of Lalezari. • This article introduces a new distribution called length-biased powered inverse Rayleigh distribution. Some of its statistical properties are derived. Maximum likelihood procedure is applied to report the point and interval estimations of all model parameters. The proposed distribution is also applied to two real data sets for illustrative purposes.

  • Traumatic rupture of the right hemidiaphragm occurred following a high-velocity motor vehicle collision in the case presented herein. The resulting herniation of small bowel loops into the thorax resulted in hemodynamic and respiratory compromise due to pressure effects on the right heart and major vessels. The patient's hemodynamic status improved with reduction of enterothorax, and the diaphragmatic defect was repaired. We discuss the available literature and learning points from this rare case.
