  • Purpose - This study aims to examine new product adoption (NPA) in the context of clothing in Iran. Research design, data, and methodology - Data were gathered from cloth owners in Iran, focusing on famous cloth brands cloth. Further, using the proportionate stratified sampling method, a total 438 usable questionnaires were returned and analyzed through the use of structural equation modeling (SEM). In addition, LISREL software was used to analyze the data collected through the structured questionnaires. Results - Overall, the study findings indicate that education has a positive effect on new product adoption, whereas the impacts of religion and Attitude towards Consumption (ATC) on new product adoption are negative and significant, but the effect of age, peers, and income on new product adoption is not significant. Conclusions - Using date obtained from a large random sample of Iranian consumers, this study offers a deeper understanding of the attitudinal and personal antecedents of consumers' new product adoption in an emerging market. Using the findings of the articles and conclusions will be useful for market researchers and, of course, business persons.

  • The product process is sequence of all the required activities that a company must perform to develop, and manufacture a product. These activities include marketing, research, engineering design, quality assurance, manufacturing, and a whole chain of suppliers and vendors. The process also comprises all strategic planning, capital investments, management decisions, and tasks necessary to create a new product. manufacturing processes must be created so that the product can be produced in the product facility Purchasing new equipment and training workers may be required if new technology is to be used. Tools, fixtures, and the sequence of steps in the manufacturing processes must all be developed to allow rapid, high-quality, cost effective production. Also, it may be needed to be rearrange the production facility to adapt to the new manufacturing processes. Therefore, this study tries to proposed that Scheduling by customer needs group for minimizing the problem and reducing inventory, product development time, cycle time, and order lead time.

  • In the relationship between a strategy and an outcome of new product development, a sample that can most give priority to a cost-price and a consumer is reflected in the result of financial affairs and non-financial affairs the most. A sample that can more give priority to a cost-price more is reflected in the result of financial affairs more. And a sample that can more give priority to a consumer is reflected in the result of non-financial affairs more. In accordance with this consequence, there is a close correlation in the analytical type between a new product developmental strategy and a new product developmental outcome.

  • The IMD(International Institute for Management Development) report said that national competitiveness of Korea is declined in this year. The main reason for Korea's decline is a largely related to the weakness of corporate competitiveness. The new product development is a necessary ingredient for improving the national competitiveness. The analysis of changing of technologies and customer's needs is needed for successful new product development. In this paper, We found out successful factors of the project by use of DFSS(Design for Six Sigma) and proved them by case study of K-company. Result from this paper is applied to the new product development planning step for K-company and it made a great success rate. It is expected that the result is applied to the same kind industries.

  • Kano model offers an effective way to understand customer requirements strategically Thus, the integration of Kano model and QFD can reflect customer requirements more effectively in designing new product. Most of previous studies on the integration have been focused customer attributes, but engineering characteristics are used at the final stage of new product design. It is proposed that how to classify engineering characteristics into Kano's elements and how to use the classified results in new product development process in this thesis. A case example is included to explain the proposed method.

  • This study defined acceptance of high-tech new product as user's active using the product such as utilizing application software rather than purchasing it. As exploring factors to effect on customer's acceptance, usefulness expectancy was examined from product side and application side. When investigating the exogenous variables to influence on usefulness expectancy from the product side, customer's product knowledge and social influences are put forward to support the hypothesis. From the application side, customer's knowledge about the application and its trust are put to explain usefulness expectancy of the application. Smart phone users were good subjects for this study and most hypotheses were tested using structural equation model and the results are followings. First usefulness expectancy of the product and of application significantly effect on customer's intention to use high-tech new product and also usefulness expectancy of the product positively effects on which of the application. Second customer's perceived knowledge about the product and social influences impact usefulness expectancy of the product. But third customer's perceived trust toward application didn't any positive impact usefulness expectancy of the application. Through the result, there will be several implications. First, from both of side; product and application, customer's usefulness expectancy should be satisfied to be successful in high-tech products market. Second, customer should be Ieant about advantages of the product and knowledge about the application as well, and then trigger their usefulness expectancy.

  • The purpose of this study is to extract managerial factor into each cell which is classified by the characteristic area of new products. For this purpose, the characteristic area of new products is classified by which is Needs & Seeds Basis. The focus of this study is on examination of failure factors, which have an important effect upon new product failure. The variables for this study were selected from literature survey and pre-interview was implemented specially. The subject of study was project leaders of electronics industry where have taken the leading part in product development activities in Korean manufacturing industries. Enquete survey was conducted in each firm and project managers were asked to respond to 37 questions. Conclusion of this study based on many significant results gained by the various multi-variated analysis are summarized as follows. First, it can be noted that failure factors are different by each classified model and characteristic area of a new product. Second, it has been identified that the important factors for the new product development were technical & managerial support and it's ability, namely, the crucial factors of failure product were lacking in ability of technical development and R&D management system construction.

  • The purpose of this research was to test the effects of technological innovation capability and technology commercialization capability on new product performance of the companies in electronics industry and the moderating role of perceived usefulness of government R&D support. For this study, Research data were collected through questionnaire instruments from the sample of 346 employees in 17 electronics companies of metropolitan area. The 305 sample was selected and analyzed by hierarchical regression technique. The results showed that technological innovation capability and technology commercialization capability had a positive effect on new product performance. And also found out perceived usefulness of government R&D support had the moderate roles between only technical innovation system our of three technological innovation capability factors and new product performance, and also between only manufacturing capability our of three technological commercialization capability factors and new product performance. With the research results, the implications for electronics company were discussed, and the directions for future research were suggested.

  • In order to overcome the limitation of market orientation concept, Narver et al. (2004) have extended the original concept into two dimensions, responsive market orientation (RMO) and proactive market orientation (PMO), respectively. Yet, there has been very limited empirical studies that analyzed the differential effects of each market orientation on firm outcomes, especially in the Korean context. We analyze the impact of RMO and PMO on the new product performance in the perspective of SMEs and examine the moderating effect of external factors such as environmental uncertainty and market similarity. The results of this study show that both RMO and PMO have a significant positive effect on the new product performance of SMEs. Also, environment uncertainty shows a negative moderating effect on the relationship between RMO and new product performance, whereas it has positive moderation with PMO. This suggests that focusing on potential customers' needs rather than current needs helps improve firm performance as the competitive environment surrounding the firm becomes more uncertain. Lastly, market similarity showed a positive moderating effect on the relationship between RMO and new product performance, but not on PMO.
