  • The invention and development of digital computer networks since the post-modern culture and creating new ideas, and in nearly all areas since the industrial revolution has had the greatest impact. A new paradigm for the 21st century, the Internet and ubiquitous, and mobile devices are being created by the new culture is being created. Rapidly being replaced by digital and analog, and 'Digilog' fusion concept has appeared. In addition, the development of computer cyberspace culture, art, design and structure are changing. In the field of furniture design, changing design processes and innovative design philosophy that change is now occurring. These symptoms experienced at the same time, almost every country on Earth is a phenomenon. Since the 20th century, computer network design based on the relationship between digital and cyber culture espoused by philosophers studied society and organic modernism and organic design of digital-based differences are confirmed through the case. Using digital technology, modeling case study of a furniture designer in cyber space and the creation of human capabilities and the fusion of computing power will be studied in modern furniture design.

  • In this paper, we introduce a new category of Self-Organizing Fuzzy Polynomial Neural Networks (SOFPNN) that is based on a genetically optimized multi-layer perceptron with fuzzy polynomial neurons (FPNs) and discuss its comprehensive design methodology involving mechanisms of genetic optimization. The conventional SOFPNN algorithm leads to a tendency to produce overly complex networks as well as a repetitive computation load by the trial and error method and/or the a repetitive parameter adjustment by designer. In order to generate a structurally and parametrically optimized network, such parameters need to be optimal. In this study, in solving the problems with the conventional SOFPNN, we introduce a new design approach of evolutionary optimized SOFPNN. Optimal parameters design available within FPN (viz. the no. of input variables, the order of the polynomial, input variables, and the no. of membership function) lead to structurally and parametrically optimized network which is more flexible as well as simpler architecture than the conventional SOFPNN. In addition, we determine the initial apexes of membership functions by genetic algorithm.

  • Recently, business environments have been changing quickly. To establish competitive advantage, most enterprises have been using information systems such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Supply Chain Management (SCM) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM). Many consider Business Process Management (BPM) a new innovative solution for enterprise-wide processes. As the BPM system is used more widely and matures, new techniques and functions will be developed by commercial vendors. However, they mainly focus on correctly executing process models, and user convenience has not been considered. In this paper, we have developed a new method of designing business processes, which provides users with an easy modeling interface. The method is based on version management. Version management of a process enables a history of the process model to be recorded. In order to prevent wasted storage, not all of the process versions are stored. An initial version and changes to each process are stored by automatically detecting changes. Our method enhances the convenience of the modeling business processes and thus helps the process designer. A prototype system is presented to verify the effectiveness of our method.

  • An internal lobe pump is suitable for oil hydraulics of machine tools, automotive engines, compressors, constructions and other various applications. In particular, the pump is an essential machine element of an automotive engine to feed lubricant oil. The subject of this paper is the theoretical analysis of internal lobe pump whose the main components are the rotors: usually the outer one is characterized by lobe with multiple profile(ellipse1, involute and ellipse2) shapes, while the inner rotor profile is determined as conjugate to the other. Also, the design of outer rotor depends on new applications with removing carryover phenomenon. The system generates new lobe profile and calculates automatically the flow rate and flow rate irregularity according to the lobe profile generated. In order to obtain rotor shapes in performance and to find optimize the design parameters, a Taguchi method is proposed in this paper. Results obtained from the analysis enable the designer and manufacturer of oil pump to be more efficient in this field.

  • Hybrid trend of the 21st century is an important basis to express fashion Alexander McQueen is a representative designer of Hybrid trend which combines heterogeneous elements into oneconcept. Accordingly, this study distributed and analyzed Hybrid trend which was in Alexander McQueen's work like below. First, there was a racial Hybrid trend which combined different local culture in shared space of the world in his fashion work and he challenged to Westernized ideal beauty with new recognition and knowledge about beside countries of Western Europe which were considered as not important culture due to perceiving relative value of a pluralist society and created new way aesthetic consciousness. Second, he expressed a historical character of a combination of tradition and modern by his fashion work based on wide historical knowledge of a dress. He created a new line in contrast to the past with a perfect design through combination of the style from the tradition with the parody and displayed his own design world. Third, he treated instability and disorder from the interior essential dissolution, thus he had a cultural character which broke down the boundary of cultural genre and style. This attitude showed transformation of constructivism and deconstruction view, secession and distortion, mixture, duplication, secession and insert by his fashion work.

  • Paco Rabanne, who has created experimental and prophetic avant-garde fashion by cutting edge techniques and revolutionary new materials, is known as one of the most influential fashion designer of modern times. The purpose of this study is to analyze the various factors, including some major artistic movements, which influenced on the formative characteristics of Paco Rabanne\`s fashion design. First, Paco Rabanne\`s fantastic new materials is also influenced by his study in architecture and his own fantasies -which other people can hardly imagine- during his early childhood. Second, light one of the most important element in Paco Ranbanne\`s fashion design, shows some influence of medieval symbols of love and salvation. Third, the artistic trends which influenced on Paco Rabanne\`s fashion include surrealism, opart, and kinetic art. His use of new materials and avant -garde style represents the influence of surrealism. his experimental use of waving plastics and glittering metal during his early period is especially related with opart and kinetic art in the early 1960s which emphasize the artistic effect of light and movement. Fourth, the geometrical figures like triangles, rectangles, and circles represent the influence of Egyptian architecture like pyramids and the geometrical characteristics of Eguptian art. Fifth, Paco Rabanne\`s distinctive use of metal chains in his fashion shows the influence of the chain mail hauberk, the medieval knightly armour. By using the medieval material Paco Rabanne properly expressed the modern person\`s pain and suffering. Sixth, the ethnic elements of Egypt, Africa, Spain, and Japan reflect the experience in his former lives he insists he lived. The ethnic elements of his dresses emphasize the natural vitality and inheritance from the past.

  • This study examined concepts and expressional relations with Rene Maggritte works that had influence upon design expressions of Shiro Kuramata who brought name of things to the extreme to give new values and functions at the end. Rene Maggritte who was a representative surrealism painter in Belgium had a lot of influence and inspiration on the art world including pop art and conceptual art in the middle of the 20th century and so many modern artists. Rene Maggritte unreasonably placed object of ordinary things that people could know to combine them and to make people's thought be free from ideas. Shiro Kuramata worked at wide areas including the space, lighting, furniture and products to be well known as a designer who could create concepts. Shiro Kuramata designed indoor space and furniture not by making forms but by being free from customary names and concepts of things to examine substance and to discover unlimited possibility and to create new visual functions. And, such a thing made people be free from names and concepts that they cognized for a long time, and it brought freedom to things. This study investigated correlations of work concepts and expressions of Rene Maggritte and Shiro Kuramata to bring new inspiration and expansion to people's thought methods and design methodology regarding concepts of things.

  • ICLL 66 is the most widely ratified instrument of the IMO and is, along with the International Convention on Safety of life at Sea (SOLAS), the primary document setting forth internationally agreed ship safety standards. ICLL 66 set freeboard requirement based on experience gained from the first Load Line Convention in 1930 and on contemporary developments in ship design. Reexamination of ICLL 66 is indicated by the proliferation of novel ship designs for which it lacks adequate regulations and by significant advancements in analytical seakeeping and deck wetness prediction techniques now available to the designer. In this paper, the Freeboard Advisory Group reviews these issues against the changing climate of the marine industry and maritime administrations, discusses the state of the art in analytical seakeeping programs, and outlines a series of recommendations for the establishment of a new international load line convention for the next century. The steps needs for an international program at IMO are discussed and a new convention is proposed.

  • This study explores the daily life of Korean designers in New York. We use in-depth interviews within the daily lives of participants to first reveal the time structure and meaning of everyday life. In this everyday time frame, this study reveals the content and meaning of life in New York, which is especially useful for fashion majors. Participants were 11 single Korean women around 30 years old working as designers in New York. Data was collected from Manhattan, New York, from November 2013 to February 2014 through the use of in-depth interviews and participant observation. Data collected daily life information on time usage, money, and energy that is first summarized into 229 meaning units. In the following, 55 central meanings were derived from stories common to behaviors for study participants and 19 subcategories were compressed into academic language. Finally, the generalized categories are divided into six categories of study life, work life, future life, family life, leisure life and fashion life. As a result of the first study, the daily time structure consisted of customary public time and personal repeat time. Second, the customary public time categories included the studying for 'Beginning to jump again to the best', 'Now working as a designer in New York', and future life expecting 'Future growing as a career woman'. Repeated personal time categories include family life: 'A single life of a lonely and poor gentile', leisure life: 'Healing life that is supported by abundant advanced culture', and fashion life: 'New York fashion life coexist with harmony'. Third, work was the center of everyday life for study participants versus fashion and leisure that were central to everyday life when not working.
