Research on the Development of North American Movie Industry in 2018 (2018년 북미영화산업 발전 연구)

  • Hollywood traditional movie companies are continuously challenged by new-type companies represented by the streaming content platforms. Based on the latest market statistics, and with a multidimensional approach involving the production, distribution, projection and overseas market, etc, this paper analyzes the changes and development of North American movie industry in its process of coping with the globalization and digitalization of media in 2018, and summarizes the effective measures for Hollywood mainstream movie companies to adjust their own structures and operation mechanism to maintain their development in the environment of new media consumption.

Remediation of fashion shows through social media (소셜 미디어에 의한 패션쇼의 재매개)

  • Forming perceptions and having experiences through digital media is becoming more common than having in-person relationships in digital media environment. This study, which was conducted when Fashion Week transitioned to a digital platform in 2020, focuses on fashion shows that are announced through social media. The purpose of the study is to explore how traditional fashion media change through social media and what their media characteristics are from the perspective of remediation, which has been suggested by Bolter and Grusin (1999) as the logic of change in the new media. The results of the case analysis in this study, based on the definition and logic of remediation outlined through a literature review, are that social media fashion shows are remediated from traditional fashion shows in the manner that they are represented, improved, refashioned, and absorbed. The characteristics of remediation expressed in social-media-based fashion shows were derived from repurposed video content, improved the elements of fashion shows to express the shows in various ways, expanded places within the fashion shows, and decontextualized and visually flattened spatial discontinuity, and from genre transitions and perceptual shifts. Social-media-based fashion shows are becoming a tool to renew the fashion experience and views of fashion and strengthen the authenticity of the brand by interacting with the audience, improving on the spatial limitations of traditional fashion shows, and diversifying fashion presentation methods.

The production of media and optimal additive rate using the cultivation media wastes of Pleurotus eryngii (큰느타리버섯 폐배지 이용 배지 제조 및 적정 첨가비율)

  • After bottle culture of Pleurotus eryngii, media were taken out the bottle and normally utilized compost. However, nutritional elements were remained in the waste media. This study was carried out to investigate the reusable possibility and the optimal additive rate of waste media in an artificial cultivation of Pleurotus eryngii. The pH had tendency to decrease as the waste media was added from 6.0 to 4.8. Based on the additive rate of 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50%, each treatment waste media was added to new media for culturing Pleurotus eryngii. Among various treatments, the mycelial growth and primordia formation of Pleurotus eryngii were more favorable in the addition of 10-30% waste median than in the addition of 40 and 50%. The yield of its fruiting body was increased slightly in the treatment of 10-30% waste media.

Performance Evaluation of Soil Media for Water Quality Purification at LID Application (분산형 빗물관리시설 적용을 위한 수질정화기능 여재 성능 평가)

  • In this study, the water quality purification of new medias which were NPS media, hyugato, mineral stone, charcoal for applying soil media of Integrated Management Practices (IMPs) of Low Impact Development (LID) were evaluated. The influent concentrations of COD, T-N, and T-P were 117.8 mg/L, 17.1 mg/L, and 2.062 mg/L, respectively. The infiltration capacities of NPS media, hyugoto, mineral stone, charcoal, and gravel were $7.1{\times}10m/s$, $7.3{\times}10^{-5}m/s$, $7.9{\times}10^{-5}m/s$, $6.0{\times}10^{-5}m/s$, respectively. All media meet criteria of infiltration capacity as surface soil layer at IMPs which is over $1.0{\times}10^{-5}m/s$. Maximum removal rates of COD, T-N, and T-P occurred at Charcoal with 98 % of COD removal rate, NPS with 78 % of T-N removal rate, and hyugato with 75 % fo T-P removal rate, respectively. For more high removal efficiency of all water quality item, the mixed media which is 4.5(NPS media): 1(charcoal) : 4.5 (hyugato) as volume ratio was evaluated. The infiltration capacity of mixed media was $7.9{\times}10^{-5}m/s$ and met the criteria of infiltration as surface soil layer. The water quality removal efficiencies of mixed media were very high with showing 70 % for COD, 85 % for T-N, and 71 % for T-P. The mixed media could purify the water quality of surface runoff and was recommended to used at the LID site of ground water quality problem.

Efficient Multi-hop Resource Reservation Scheme in WiMedia D-MAC for Multi-hop N-Screen Services (멀티 홉 N-스크린 서비스를 위한 WiMedia D-MAC에서의 효율적인 멀티 홉 자원 예약 기술)

  • In this paper, WiMedia Distributed-MAC protocol is adopted for development of multi-hop N-screen wireless services. Furthermore, to provide the multi-hop OSMU (One Source Multi Use) N-screen service through P2P streaming in the D-MAC protocol, a new multi-hop resource reservation scheme is proposed and analyzed to reduce end to end delay. For this Multi-hop resource reservation scheme, a new MSCDRP (Multi-Stage Cooperative DRP) IE is proposed. Simulation results show that our multi-hop MSCDRP scheme reduces the end to end delay and increases throughput at various multi-hop N-screen network environment.

  • Telecommunications-broadcasting convergence in the domain of IT is a representative phenomenon that is expected to provide the saturated existing markets with a new source of profit. Especially, T-Commerce combines familiarity of TV and immediacy of the Internet which are expected to cover all the users familiar with each media and expand the existing commercial transactions. Telecommunications-broadcasting convergence in Korea, however, is focusing on technical and regulatory aspects so that research on the real users is not up to the mark yet. This is the most fundamental problem in hampering growth in the corresponding service and market. Thus, we are proposing an adoption model on T-Commerce to rapidly expand the convergence service through understanding the potential users. Perceived utilitarian and hedonic values, perceived interactivity, media substitution and personal innovativeness have been examined as the factors influencing the users' intention to adopt a new convergence service. As a result of empirical analysis, it is verified that perceived utilitarian and hedonic values and personal innovativeness directly influenced the users' intention to adopt whereas perceived interactivity had indirect affect on them. T-Commerce service providers should not only emphasize on the benefit that the older media could not provide the users with, but also provide them with more pleasure and entertaining experience during the course of satisfying the users' needs to distinguish T-Commerce from the other existing media.

A Study on Advertising Future Development Roadmap in the Fourth Industrial Revolution Era

  • We The 4th industrial revolution, the core characteristics of super-intelligence, hyper-connective, and ultrareality, has been actualized. New technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, the Internet of Things, and high-tech video have begun to be applied to media and advertising. With the introduction of new technologies in the advertising field, innovative changes in advertising types, advertising effects, advertising methods, and advertising contents are expected. Accordingly, We intends to design a future advertising roadmap development by predicting how future advertising will change and develop through future technologies in the 4th industrial revolution era. To design the roadmap, this study analyzes changes in advertising technology, consumer, and media as changes in the advertising environment in the 4th industrial revolution era, and identifies the core changing trends, advertising factors in future advertising through the Delphi Survey on experts in advertising and future fields. We identifies how the future advertising technology, types, media, effects, and fields are developed by the changes of future advertising environments, including technology, consumers, and media in the 4th industrial revolution era. Hence it is expected to help the advertising industry and experts to prepare for future changes.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze about the extension of user experience in the digital space. Through the digital technology and virtual space, the city's new environment is being changed. it makes people activate their aesthetic experience. Simultaneously, it elevates satisfaction levels regarding people's aesthetic experience. Research methods and settings of the range to study on the Extension of User Experience are as follows: First, establish digital space's characteristics comparing digital space at the structural change-points in modern society. Second, experience's approch way through the digital media in the contemporary space. And understand the concept about a variety of User Experience. Third. to classify the elements of access control for the user experience. Experience is being expanded through the generation process. Fourth, investigate analysis of the case studies, focused on the architecture and space design_Media installations that appear in the city park, the city's landmark buildings facade, the building facade by offering commercially applied for brand marketing_ announced through the media recently. Also, it is to look at the physical elements through digital media and to analyze the applicability of the public space. Therefore, the new approach to digital implementation shall be determined by looking in the direction of the user approaches.

  • This paper tries to critically examine how development of digital technology affects on the processes of production, consumption and intermediation of popular culture. We focus on the case of BTS to find changes after new media environment. In production part, artist produces diverse contents through multiple platforms to be a 'total package', and in consumption part, fans vote and promote online to support their artist, and their roles have expanded to the cultural intermediary at some part, so on the part of intermediation, inequalities from the power relations have changed in a part.

  • This paper theoretically examines the mediations of media on disaster and the structure of the politics of compassion, from the cultural politics approaches. The media has treated for a long time many different forms of disaster and sentimental reactions that were bound to the human life. In the present paper we shall take a different approach from traditional ones that focus on how the media represents these subjects and how it arouses cognitive, affective, behavioral reactions of the audience. We will instead focus on how these subjects of disaster and compassion constitute new social meanings through the mediation of media. And we will investigate that the experiences of social sufferings mediated by media are related to the ethical potentiality vital to the construction of global public sphere and global civil society that need to be reshaped in the $21^{st}$ century media environment. This paper attempts to understand new cultural-politics meanings of the media as a major factor conducting the audience's new public actions through mediating sufferings of the others.
