A Study on the Sex-Role Identity Inventory (성역할 정체감 척도 개발에 관한 연구)

  • Sex role reseach in korea has been hindered by the absence a sex role inventory which is based on the sex role stereotypes of the Korea society. This study has attempted to establish the korean sex-role identity inventory in line with the theory and methods of the androgynous perspective, In a prelinminary study 450 judges rated the desirability of 156 personality characteristics for males and females in Korean society. Following Broverman's procedure for item selection, male-oriented traits(20 items), female-oriented traits(20 items), and neutral traits(10 items) were selected. Sex-role identity inventory were administred to 982 judges. Compared to the translated versions of foreign sex role inventories or the masculinity-feminity scales of the traditional personality tents which do not correspond with androgyny theory, the results of this study have various advantages for sex-role reserach in Korea.

  • In this paper, a new control strategy of a series active power filter using direct compensating voltage extraction method is proposed. This control algorithm compensates harmonics, reactive power and neutral line currents which are generated by balanced or unbalanced nonlinear loads. The advantage of this method is that the compensating voltage of the series active power filter can be extracted without phase transformation. Therefore, calculation time is shorten and the control method is simple compared with conventional method as the p-q theory In addition, this control strategy was applied for the series active power filter in 3-phase 4-wire system which is widely employed in distributing electric energy to several office building and manufacturing plants. Some results obtained from the experimental model using the proposed method are presented to demonstrate and confirm its validity.

  • This study suggests a modeling of grid-connected wind power generation system that has induction generator, and aims to perform simulations for outputs by the variation of actual wind speed and for fault current of wind generation system by the transformer winding connection. This study is implemented by matlab&simulink. The simulation shall be performed by assuming single line to ground fault generated in the system. Generator power, rotor speed, terminal voltage, system voltage, and fault current shall be observed following the performance of simulation. The fault current change will be dealt through the simulation results for fault current of wind generation system following the grid-connected transformer winding connection and the simulation result by the transformer neutral ground method.

  • Harmonics happened due to nonlinear systems such as UPS, SCR controlled motors, and fluorescent lighting in distribute power system is very important subject to optimal operation and control of power system. Harmonics sometimes make incorrect operation of protective relaying system under normal condition on power system. In this study, total harmonics distortion(THD) of power were measured and analyzed by the field test on electrical facilities which were installed at the rural industrial complex in Chungbuk province. In addition, the deprivation of power factor by harmonics and the content of THD which is measured at neutral line was researched.

Studies on the Polysaccharide Extracted from Ganoderma Incidum (영지버섯에서 분리한 항암성 다당체에 관한 연구)

  • The cultured mycelial cells of Ganoderma lucidum was extracted by alkali, and then neutralized by acid. The extract was passed through the column of DEAE cellulose for more purification. The neutral fraction was concentrated and precipitated with 95% ethanol. The precipitate was lyophilized and then PSG(polysaccharides) was obtained. PSG was composed of 82.2% polysaccharide, 0.7% protein and 17.1% uronic acid. Sugar conjugates of its hydrolysates were produced using with fluorescent compound(7-amino-1,3-naphthalene disulfonic aicd : 7-AGA), and then fluorescent labeled sugar conjugates were separated by reverse phase high perfomance liquid chromatography. Hydrolysates of PSG were composed of sixteen amino acids and 95.7% glucose, 2.7% xylose, 1.6% fucose and tract amount of galactose and mannose. The immunomodulating effects of PSG on macrophage were perfomed using murine macrophage cell line ATCC TIB 71 cells. PSG augumented the phagocytic activity of TIB 71 cells against fluorescent latex beads.

A Study on the Spatial Range of DMZ (DMZ의 공간적 범위에 관한 연구)

  • Korean War resulted in the fact that Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) on the neck of Korean peninsular was totally forgotten by people for more than half a century. But recently, as the concern in this DMZ has been rising inside and outside of Korea, the researches on this subject have been gradually quickening. However, the practical studies about spatial extent of DMZ are very feeble. Even the analysis of the previous studies shows that the most of researches had mistakes in the spatial description of MDL and DMZ, neutral territory of Han River estuary, and NLL. In this study the length of MDL, stretching till the estuary of western Lim- Jin River in Myung-Ho Ri of Goseong region on East Coast, was measured to be about Z38km (l48miles); the area of corresponding DMZ was proved to be approximately $903.8km^2$ ($907.3km^2$ in the previous studies). Such results show that it is necessary to decide the terms for calling the space dividing North and South Korea, similarly to "155-mile truce line".

A study on the perception and design preference of new Hanbok one-piece dress (신한복 원피스에 대한 인식과 디자인 선호도에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to identify the perception of New-Hanbok one-piece dresses that female consumers have purchased and to analyze the design preference based on design types and brands. Analysis was conducted on New-Hanbok brand websites, and additional research was carried out through a survey of 402 women in their 20s and older. The survey consisted of 36 questions, which were divided into categories including pattern, color, material, and recognition of the one-piece dress. The research results are as follows. First, the preferred design form of the New-Hanbok one-piece dress was long length, medium fit, princess line, round git, rectangular git, regular width git, V neckline, regular width dongjeong, front closing with a wide overlap of the chest are a, narrow goreum, a skirt part with moderate crease spacing and number of pleats, A-line skirt silhouette, long and narrow sleeves, diagonal shoulder line, and a cuff at the end of each sleeve. Second, the preferred colors of the New-Hanbok one-piece dress were bright, neutral, or light and were predominately monochromatic Third, the preferred fabric conveyed a contemporary atmosphere through its print pattern. The most favored fabric material was cotton. Through this study, more systematic design development research should be carried out focusing on the current situation and identifying problems, thereby improving traditional culture.

Photo-controlled gene expression by fluorescein-labeled antisense oligonucleotides in combination with visible light irradiation

  • A new concept of "photo" -antisense method has been evaluated, where the inhibition of gene expression by the conventional antisense method is enhanced by photochemical binding between antisense oligonucleotides conjugated with photo-reactive compound and target mRNA or DNA. Fluorescein labeled oligodeoxyribonucleotides (F-DNA) was delivered to cell nuclei in the encapsulated form in multilamellar lecithin liposomes with neutral charge. F-DNA was previously shown to photo-bind to the complementary stranded DNA, and the delivery system using neutral liposome to be effective in normal human keratinocytes. In the present study, we used human kidney cancer G401.2/6TG.1 cell line to be advantageous in reproducible experiments. p53 was adopted as a target gene since antisense sequence information has been accumulated. The nuclear localization ofF-DNA was identified by comparing the fluorescence ofF-DNA with that of Hoechst 33258 under fluorescence microscope. After 7hr incubation to accumulate p53 protein induced by UV -B, p53 protein was quantified by Western blot. After 2hrs from F-DNA application, about 30% of cell population incorporated F-DNA in their nuclei with some morphological change possibly due to liposomal toxicity. Irradiation of visible light longer than 400nm from solar simulator at this time enhanced the inhibitory action of antisense F-DNA. The present results suggest that photo-antisense method is promising to control gene expression in time and space dependent manner. Further improvement of F-DNA delivery to cancer cells in the stability and toxicity is in progress. progress.

Characteristics of Neutral Point Loci on Line Voltages to Hull When Insulation Resistance Collapses by Earthing Faults at 3 Phase Power Distribution Systems Onboard Vessels (선박 3상배전선로의 지락고장에 따른 대지전압 중성점의 이동경로 특성)

  • Ungrounded power systems are adopted onboard vessels which enable more stabilized power supply even in case of electric leakage to hull. If earthing faults happen at these systems, they make grounding impedances of power lines unbalanced each other on the three phases, resulting in high voltages to hull which can bring more possibilities of electric shocks and electric fires. This study focuses on how to configure a calculation module for transferring a grounded condition by lowered insulation resistance into a vector diagram of the voltages to hull. By using the module, the loci of neutral points were acquired to analyze how voltages to hull are affected by earthing faults and the distributed capacitances between power lines and hull. The suggested module was simulated and compared to the measured values from a test power system in good results.
