  • Recently, VoIP technology is widely used in our daily life. Even VoIP has become a technology that can be easily accessed from services such as home phone as well as KakaoTalk.[1] Most of these Internet telephones use the RTP protocol. However, there is a vulnerability that the audio data of users can be intercepted through packet sniffing in the RTP protocol. So we want to create a tool to check the security level of a VoIP network using the RTP protocol. To do so, we capture data packet from and to these VoIP networks. For this purpose, we first configure a virtual VoIP network using Raspberry Pi and show the security vulnerability by applying our developed sniffing tool to the VoIP network. We will then analyze the captured packets and extract meaningful information from the analyzed data using the Google Speech API. Finally, we will address the causes of these vulnerabilities and possible solutions to address them.

  • ARP Spoofing is a basic and core hacking technology for almost all sniffing. It makes change the flow of packets by faking the 2nd layer MAC address. In this paper we suggested an efficient hacking technology for sniffing remote servers in the switched network environment. The suggested 'Faked ARP Reply Unicast Spoofing' makes the bidirectional packets sniffing possible between the client and server, and it makes simplify the procedures for ARP sniffing and hacking program. In this paper we researched the network hacking and implementation technologies based on the suggested ARP spoofing. And we researched various types of servers hacking such as Root ID and PW of Telnet/FTP server, Root ID and PW of MySQL DB server, ID and PW of Web Portal Server, and account information and transaction history of Web Banking Server. And also we researched the implementation techniques of core hacking programs for the ARP Spoofing.

  • As a part of preparing the sniffing attack, this routing method presented in this thesis decreases the risk rates of the leaking of information through separating valid data and transmitting by a multi-path. then data is transmitted from start node to destination node on distributed sensor network. The level of reduction in leaking of information by the sniffing attack is proved by experimental result thich compare the case described above with the case of transmitting whole data with the single path by simulation, and the algorithm for choosing the routing path is showed by proof of the theorem.

  • VoIP technology is a technology for exchanging voice or video data through IP network. Various protocols are used for this technique, in particular, RTP(Real-time Transport Protocol) protocol is used to exchange voice data. In recent years, with the development of communication technology, there has been an increasing tendency of services such as "Kakao Voice Talk" to exchange voice and video data through IP network. Most of these services provide a service with security guarantee by a user authentication process and an encryption process. However, RTP protocol does not require encryption when transmitting data. Therefore, there is an exposition risk in the voice data using RTP protocol. We will present the risk of the situation where packets are sniffed in VoIP(Voice over IP) communication using RTP protocol. To this end, we configured a VoIP telephone network, applied our own sniffing tool, and analyzed the sniffed packets to show the risk that users' data could be exposed unprotected.

  • Attacks on existing sensor networks include sniffing, flooding, and spoofing attacks. The basic countermeasures include encryption and authentication methods and switching methods. Wormhole attack, HELLO flood attack, Sybil attack, sinkhole attack, and selective delivery attack are the attacks on the network layer in wireless sensor network (WSN). These attacks may not be defended by the basic countmeasures mentioned above. In this paper, new countermeasures against these attacks include periodic key changes and regular network monitoring. Moreover, we present various threats (attacks) in the network layer of wireless sensor networks and new countermeasures accordingly.

  • It is very important to detect and remove original sources of DOS (Denial of Service) attacks or connection oriented/connectionless attacks. In this paper, we implement a traceback system that does not require the reaction of routers and administrators and does not need log data. We bring in a traceback server and traceback agents in each network and use sniffing and spoofing schemes. Finally, the traceback server detects attacking hosts using information transmitted from traceback agents.

  • Nowadays, research in deep learning leveraged automated computing and networking paradigm evidenced rapid contributions in terms of Software Defined Networking (SDN) and its diverse security applications while handling cybercrimes. SDN plays a vital role in sniffing information related to network usage in large-scale data centers that simultaneously support an improved algorithm design for automated detection of network intrusions. Despite its security protocols, SDN is considered contradictory towards DDoS attacks (Distributed Denial of Service). Several research studies developed machine learning-based network intrusion detection systems addressing detection and mitigation of DDoS attacks in SDN-based networks due to dynamic changes in various features and behavioral patterns. Addressing this problem, this research study focuses on effectively designing a multistage hybrid and intelligent deep learning classifier based on modified deep forest classification to detect DDoS attacks in SDN networks. Experimental results depict that the performance accuracy of the proposed classifier is improved when evaluated with standard parameters.

  • The current railway control system in Korea is comprised of signaling, electric rail power, communication, and maintenance systems that are independent of each other. Further, these systems have different mediums and protocols for transmitting the field equipment data to the central control system. The Safety Supervision System has as its purpose the collecting of safety-related data from each system to predict and prevent accidents, this system utilizes standard protocol. Safety-related data need to be collected from field data transmission devices of the existing control system, the data should be collected without affecting the communication of the existing system. In this study, sniffing skill, which is typically used for network traffic monitoring or security, is used to collect data. The problems arising from the use of sniffing devices are noted, and the Packet Conversion Node is proposed as a solution to the problems. Further, functional and performance testing were completed for the prototype, and the software architecture and packet conversion process were verified.

  • Purpose Interactive 3D visualization system through remote data transmission over heterogeneous network is growing due to the improvement of internet based real time streaming technology. Materials and Methods The current internet's IP layer has several weaknesses against IP spoofing or IP sniffing type of network attacks since it was developed for reliable packet exchange. In order to compensate the security issues with normal IP layer, we designed a remote medical visualization system, based on Virtual Private Network. Results Particularly in hospital, if there are many surgeons that need to receive the streaming information, too much load on the gateway can results in deficit of processing power and cause the delay. Conclusion End to end security through the network method would be required.
