  • Social capital is the basis for enabling regional development, and although it is the result of regional development that produces greater productivity through the combination of human and material capital, there is a lack of discussions in connection with rural development. This study saw that the local capacity building project affects the social capital of the local residents and such social network is realized through the rural area development project based on the participation of the residents. As a result of the analysis, the regional capacity building project has a positive influence on the social capital of the region and the willingness to participate in the project, and bridge-type social capital has shown a mediating effect on education and consulting fields. Only when local social capital, especially bridge-type social capital, is cultivated through the regional capacity building project can the project be transformed into one suitable for local conditions through active participation of residents.

  • As a portal to rural town, Myeon near large cities is expected to represent image of the rural area. But, the landscape are changing rapidly due to development pressure and to the expansion of the transportation network. For visitors and transit traffic, Recognizing that the characteristics of the streetscape is an important task for the vitalization of the rural district. In particular, it was found that the visual quantity of the central street in the location of the town was closely related to the preference of the streetscape, and the visual quantity of trees and the visual quantity of the building showed an inverse relationship of + and - respectively. Since this is not a simple ratio of the sky to the building, but a relative factor, the possibility of landscape improvement can be improved through management of public facilities or green spaces and maintenance of open spaces or gaps between buildings. It seems that it is necessary to secure separate means for the management of the architectural landscape, such as the establishment of a special landscape plan or establishment of ordinances.

  • This paper presents a distributed routing scheme for allowing network control to be distributed through the switching elements of a multistage baseline network. The routing technique we use here is the destination tag scheme which uses the binary representation of a destination address as the reuting tag. With the topological properties of the network, we introduce a distributed algorithm which allows any connection from a source to arbitrary number of destinations. Also, the performance of the proposed method is evaluated by computer simulation, and the results of the method is compared to other schemes in terms of time complexity.

  • The gaseous fuel injection(GFI) type of LPG fuel-supply system is more advantageous than liquefied fuel injection(LFI) from the viewpoint of durability and cost reduction. However, compared with LFI types of LPG fuel-supply systems, in the GFI systems it is difficult to achieve precision fuel metering because of the compressible characteristic of the gaseous fuel. In this study, a Helmholtz resonator is proposed as an appropriate system for precision fuel metering in GFI systems, and the effects of the Helmholtz resonator on the fuel metering are simulated by the commercial flow-network-analysis package Flowmaster.

  • A wireless router is a device which allows several wireless clients to share an internet line using NAT (Network Address Translation). In a school or a small office environment where many clients use multiple wireless routers, a client may select anyone of wireless routers so that most clients can be clustered to a small set of the wireless routers. In such a case, there exists load unbalancing problem between clients and wireless routers. One of its result is that clients using the busiest router get poor service. The other is that the resource utilization of the whole wireless routers becomes very low. In order to resolve the problems, we propose a load sharing scheme to maximize network bandwidth utilization based on multiple SSID. In a time internal, the proposed scheme keeps to show the available bandwidth information of all the possible wireless routers to clients through multiple SSID. A new client can select the most available band with router. This scheme allows to achieve a good load balancing between clients and routers in terms of bandwidth utilization. We implemented the proposed scheme with ASUS WL 500G wireless router and performed experiments. Experimental results show the bandwidth utilization improvement compared to the existing method.

  • In order to control the flow of traffics in ATM networks and optimize the usage of network resources, an efficient control mechanism is necessary to cope with congestion and prevent the degradation of network performance caused by congestion. In this paper, Buffered Leaky Bucket which applies the same control scheme to a variety of traffics requiring the different QoS(Quality of Service) and Neural Networks lead to the effective buffer utilization and QoS enhancement in aspects of cell loss rate and mean transfer delay. And the cell scheduling algorithms such as DWRR and DWEDF for multiplexing the incoming traffics are enhanced to get the better fair delay. The network congestion information from cell scheduler is used to control the predicted traffic loss rate of Neural Leaky Bucket, and token generation rate and buffer threshold are changed by the predicted values. The prediction of traffic loss rate by neural networks can enhance efficiency in controlling the cell loss rate and cell transfer delay of next incoming cells and also be applied for other traffic controlling schemes. Computer simulation results performed for random cell generation and traffic prediction show that QoSs of the various kinds of traffcis are increased.

The other is that the resource utilization of the whole wireless routers becomes very low. In order to resolve the problems, we propose a load sharing scheme to maximize network bandwidth utilization based on SSID(Service Set IDentifier) hiding. The proposed scheme keeps checking the available bandwidth of all the possible wireless routers in a time interval and select the most available one. If a new client appears, the most available router is visible to him or her whereas the others are not visible. This is handled by SSID hiding in the proposed scheme. We implemented the proposed scheme with ASUS WL 500G wireless router and performed experiments. Experimental results show the bandwidth utilization improvement compared to the existing method.

  • Document classification, a task of classifying the category of each document based on text, is one of the fundamental areas for natural language processing. Document classification may be used in various fields such as topic classification and sentiment classification. Neural network models for document classification can be divided into two categories: word-level models and character-level models that treat words and characters as basic units respectively. In this study, we propose a neural network model that combines character-level and word-level models to improve performance of document classification. The proposed model extracts the feature vector of each word by combining information obtained from a word embedding matrix and information encoded by a character-level neural network. Based on feature vectors of words, the model classifies documents with a hierarchical structure wherein recurrent neural networks with attention mechanisms are used for both the word and the sentence levels. Experiments on real life datasets demonstrate effectiveness of our proposed model.

  • In this paper, the performance of the optical code-division multiple access (OCDMA) technology on a plastic optical fiber (POF) access network, which had received much attention due to its low weight, large core diameter, flexibility, easy installation, and especially its high bandwidth, is analyzed. Recently, POF was a very attractive candidate for transmission media in an access network based on OCDMA technology. But the conventional OCDMA system only allows finite units to transmit and access simultaneously according to the number of channels which are restricted by BER, and so, in this paper, to resolve this problem a novel multi-priority reservation protocol is also proposed. By using this reservation scheme and a distributed arbitration algorithm, channel collision and destination conflict could be avoided. And this protocol can efficiently support the transmission of multimedia messages that require the different time-delay. The network throughput and average delay using various system parameters have been investigated by numerical analysis and simulation experiments. These results shows that the multi-priority reservation protocol in this POF access network based on OCDMA technology is valid and efficient.

  • Given the network structure in online social network, it is important to determine a way to distinguish spam accounts from the network features. In online social network, the service provider attempts to detect social spamming to maintain their service quality. However the spammer group changes their strategies to avoid being detected. Even though the spammer attempts to act as legitimate users, certain distinguishable structural features are not easily changed. In this paper, we investigate a way to generate meaningful network structure features, and suggest spammer detection method using recursive structural features. From a result of real-world dataset experiment, we found that the proposed algorithm could improve the classification performance by about 8%.
