Security and resource-saving are both demands of the fifth generation (5G) wireless networks. In this paper, we study the secrecy spectrum efficiency (SSE) and secrecy energy efficiency (SEE) of a K-tier massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) enabled heterogeneous cellular network (HetNet), in which artificial noise (AN) are employed for secrecy enhancement. Assuming (i) independent Poisson point process model for the locations of base stations (BSs) of each tier as well as that of eavesdroppers, (ii) zero-forcing precoding at the macrocell BSs (MBSs), and (iii) maximum average received power-based cell selection, the tractable lower bound expressions for SSE and SEE of massive MIMO enabled HetNets are derived. Then, the influences on secrecy oriented spectrum and energy efficiency performance caused by the power allocation for AN, transmit antenna number, number of users served by each MBS, and eavesdropper density are analyzed respectively. Moreover, the analysis accuracy is verified by Monte Carlo simulations.

The paucity of pilot signals in Massive MIMO system is a vital issue. To accommodate substantial number of users, pilot signals are reused. This leads to interference, resulting in pilot contamination and degrades channel estimation at the Base Station (BS). Hence, mitigation of pilot contamination is exigency in Massive MIMO system. The proposed Time Shifted Pilot Signal Transmission with Pilot signal Hopping (TSPTPH), addresses the pilot contamination issue by transmitting pilot signals in non-overlapping time interval with hopping of pilot signals in each transmission slot. Hopping is carried by switching user to new a pilot signal in each transmission slot, resulting in random change of interfering users. This contributes to the change in channel coefficient, which leads to improved channel estimation at the BS and therefore enhances the efficiency of Massive MIMO system. In this system, Uplink Signal Power to Interference plus Noise Power Ratio (SINR) and data-rate are calculated for pilot signal reuse factor 1 and 3, by estimating the channel with Least Square estimation. The proposed system also reduces the uplink Signal power for data transmission of each User Equipment for normalized spectral efficiency with rising number of antennas at the BS and thus improves battery life.

In order to improve the coverage and achieve massive spectrum access, non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) technology is applied in millimeter wave massive multiple-input multiple-output (mMIMO) communication network. However, the power assumption of active sensors greatly limits its wide applications. Recently, Intelligent Reconfigurable Surface (IRS) technology has received wide attention due to its ability to reduce power consumption and achieve passive transmission. In this paper, spectral efficiency maximum problem in the millimeter wave mMIMO-NOMA system with IRS is considered. The sparse RF chain antenna structure is designed at the base station based on continuous phase modulation. Furthermore, a joint optimization problem for power allocation, power splitting, analog precoding and IRS reconfigurable matrices are constructed, which aim to achieve the maximum spectral efficiency of the system under the constraints of user's quality of service, minimum energy harvesting and total transmit power. A three-stage iterative algorithm is proposed to solve the above mentioned non-convex optimization problems. We obtain the local optimal solution by fixing some optimization parameters firstly, then introduce the relaxation variables to realize the global optimal solution. Simulation results show that the spectral efficiency of the proposed scheme is superior compared to the conventional system with phase shifter modulation. It is also demonstrated that IRS can effectively assist mmWave communication and improve the system spectral efficiency.
As numerous devices are connected through a wireless network, there exist many studies conducted to efficiently connect the devices. While earlier studies often use clustering for efficient device management, there is a load-intensive cluster node which may lead the entire network to be unstable. In order to solve this problem, we propose a scheduling model for centralized unequal chain clustering for efficient management of sensor nodes. For the cluster configuration, this study is based on the cluster head range and the distance to the base station(BS). The main vector projection technique is used to construct clustering with concentricity where the positions of the base stations are not the same. We utilize a multiple radio access interface, multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO), for data transmission. Experiments show that cluster head energy consumption is reduced and network lifetime is improved.
The quality of products produced by injection molding process is greatly influenced by the process variables set on the injection molding machine during manufacturing. It is very difficult to predict the quality of injection molded product considering the stochastic nature of manufacturing process, because the process variables complexly affect the quality of the injection molded product. In the present study we predicted the quality of injection molded product using Artificial Neural Network (ANN) method specifically from Multiple Input Single Output (MISO) and Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) perspectives. In order to train the ANN model a systematic plan was prepared based on a combination of orthogonal sampling and random sampling methods to represent various and robust patterns with small number of experiments. According to the plan the injection molding experiments were conducted to generate data that was separated into training, validation and test data groups to optimize the parameters of the ANN model and evaluate predicting performance of 4 structures (MISO1-2, MIMO1-2). Based on the predicting performance test, it was confirmed that as the number of output variables were decreased, the predicting performance was improved. The results indicated that it is effective to use single output model when we need to predict the quality of injection molded product with high accuracy.

In this paper, a joint cell grouping and user association technique proposed for a semi-dynamic grouped network MIMO in a clustered heterogeneous cellular network (HCN). With the conventional macro BSs, small cells are being overlaid to increase a spectral efficiency per area and these small cells are expected to be concentrated to support exponentially increasing data traffic in hot spot areas. The main culprits of performance degradation in the clustered HCN are interference and load imbalance. The proposed scheme jointly handles them to maximize a proportional-fair metric. It is shown that the proposed technique can largely improve user average rate and proportional fairness among users than any other conventional schemes in the clustered HCN.
In this paper, we propose and simulate an efficient interference cancellation scheme with an optimal ordering successive interference cancellation (SIC) algorithm for ultra wideband (UWB)/multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) systems in a wireless body area network (WBAN). When there are several wireless communication devices on a human body, multiple access interference (MAI) usually occurs. To mitigate the effect of MAI and achieve additional diversity gain, we utilize SIC with an optimal ordering algorithm. A zero correlation duration (ZCD) code with robust MAI capability is employed as a spread code for UWB systems in a multi-device WBAN environment. The performance of the proposed scheme is evaluated in terms of the bit error rate (BER). Simulation results confirm that the BER performance can be improved significantly if the proposed interference cancellation scheme and the ZCD code are jointly employed.

In this paper, we consider 19 cells with the two tiers for polar-rectangular coordinates (PRCs) and provide the cell edge performance of cellular networks based on distance from cell center i.e., BS (base station). When FFR is applied(or adopted) to cell edge, it is expected that BS cooperation, or a coordinated multipoint (CoMP) multiple access strategy will further improve the system performance. We proposed a new method to evaluate the sum rate capacity of the MIMO DC of multicell system. We improve the performance of cell edge users for intercell interference cancelation in cooperative downlink multicell systems. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme outperforms the reference schemes, in terms of cell edge SINR (signal-to-interference-noise ratio) with a minimal impact on the network path loss exponent. We show 13 dB improvements in cell-edge SINR by using reuse of three relative to reuse of one. BS cooperation has been proposed to mitigate the cell edge effect.

We propose an interference space reuse (ISR) algorithm for the MU-MIMO design in 3-cell downlink interference channels. Also, we provide a strategy for the adoption of the ISR scheme in the cellular network. In the multicell interference channels, the cell edge users may undergo severe interferences and their signals should be protected from the interferers for reliable transmissions. However, the intra cell users do not only experience small interferences but also they require small transmission power for stable communication. We provide a vector design algorithm based on ISR, where intra cell users are served through reusing the cell edge users' interference space. The performance enhancement reaches 20% compared to the fractional frequency reuse (FFR) scheme combined with IA through the scheduling between the cell edge users and the intra cell users. Also, it can be used to enhance the cell edge throughput when the quality of service (QoS) requirements of the intra cell users are fixed.
Diversity-multiplexing tradeoff (DMT) is an efficient tool to measure the performance of multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) systems and cooperative systems. Recently, cooperative multicast system with wireless network coding stretched tremendous interesting due to that it can drastically enhance the throughput of the wireless networks. It is desirable to apply DMT to the performance analysis on the multicast system with wireless network coding. In this paper, DMT is performed at the three proposed wireless network coding protocols, i.e., non-regenerative network coding (NRNC), regenerative complex field network coding (RCNC) and regenerative Galois field network coding (RGNC). The DMT analysis shows that under the same system performance, i.e., the same diversity gain, all the three network coding protocols outperform the traditional transmission scheme without network coding in terms of multiplexing gain. Our DMT analysis also exhibits the trends of the three network coding protocols' performance when multiplexing gain is changing from the lower region to the higher region. Monte-Carlo simulations verify the prediction of DMT.
