Classification systems can significantly assist the medical sector by allowing for the precise and quick diagnosis of diseases. As a result, both doctors and patients will save time. A possible way for identifying risk variables is to use machine learning algorithms. Non-surgical technologies, such as machine learning, are trustworthy and effective in categorizing healthy and heart-disease patients, and they save time and effort. The goal of this study is to create a medical intelligent decision support system based on machine learning for the diagnosis of heart disease. We have used a mixed feature creation (MFC) technique to generate new features from the UCI Cleveland Cardiology dataset. We select the most suitable features by using Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator (LASSO), Recursive Feature Elimination with Random Forest feature selection (RFE-RF) and the best features of both LASSO RFE-RF (BLR) techniques. Cross-validated and grid-search methods are used to optimize the parameters of the estimator used in applying these algorithms. and classifier performance assessment metrics including classification accuracy, specificity, sensitivity, precision, and F1-Score, of each classification model, along with execution time and RMSE the results are presented independently for comparison. Our proposed work finds the best potential outcome across all available prediction models and improves the system's performance, allowing physicians to diagnose heart patients more accurately.
It is well known that the performance of a fuzzy neural network strongly depends on the input features selected for its training. In its applications to sensor signal estimation, there are a large number of input variables related with an output As the number of input variables increases, the training time of fuzzy neural networks required increases exponentially. Thus, it is essential to reduce the number of inputs to a fuzzy neural network and to select the optimum number of mutually independent inputs that are able to clearly define the input-output mapping. In this work, principal component analysis (PCA), genetic algorithms (CA) and probability theory are combined to select new important input features. A proposed feature selection method is applied to the signal estimation of the steam generator water level, the hot-leg flowrate, the pressurizer water level and the pressurizer pressure sensors in pressurized water reactors and compared with other input feature selection methods.

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2D) is a complex diabetes disease that is caused by high blood sugar, insulin resistance, and a relative lack of insulin. Many studies are trying to predict variant genes that causes this disease by using a sample disease model. In this paper we predict diabetic and normal persons by using fisher score feature selection, chi-2 feature selection and Logistic Regression supervised learning algorithm with best accuracy of 90.23%.

Network intrusion detection system based on machine learning methods is quite dependent on the selected features in terms of accuracy and efficiency. Nevertheless, choosing the optimal combination of features from generally used features to detect network intrusion requires extensive computing resources. For instance, the number of possible feature combinations from given n features is $2^n-1$. In this paper, to tackle this problem we propose a optimal feature selection algorithm. Proposed algorithm is based on the local search algorithm, one of representative meta-heuristic algorithm for solving optimization problem. In addition, the accuracy of clusters which obtained using selected feature components and k-means clustering algorithm is adopted to evaluate a feature assembly. In order to estimate the performance of our proposed algorithm, comparing with a method where all features are used on NSL-KDD data set and multi-layer perceptron.

The darknet is frequently referred to as the hub of illicit online activity. In order to keep track of real-time applications and activities taking place on Darknet, traffic on that network must be analysed. It is without a doubt important to recognise network traffic tied to an unused Internet address in order to spot and investigate malicious online activity. Any observed network traffic is the result of mis-configuration from faked source addresses and another methods that monitor the unused space address because there are no genuine devices or hosts in an unused address block. Digital systems can now detect and identify darknet activity on their own thanks to recent advances in artificial intelligence. In this paper, offer a generalised method for deep learning-based detection and classification of darknet traffic. Furthermore, analyse a cutting-edge complicated dataset that contains a lot of information about darknet traffic. Next, examine various feature selection strategies to choose a best attribute for detecting and classifying darknet traffic. For the purpose of identifying threats using network properties acquired from darknet traffic, devised a hybrid deep learning (DL) approach that combines Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) and Bidirectional LSTM (BiLSTM). This probing technique can tell malicious traffic from legitimate traffic. The results show that the suggested strategy works better than the existing ways by producing the highest level of accuracy for categorising darknet traffic using the Black widow optimization algorithm as a feature selection approach and RNN-BiLSTM as a recognition model.

All over the world, people are affected by many chronic diseases and medical practitioners are working hard to find out the symptoms and remedies for the diseases. Many researchers focus on the feature detection of the disease and trying to get a better health recommendation system. It is necessary to detect the features automatically to provide the most relevant solution for the disease. This research gives the framework of Health Recommendation System (HRS) for identification of relevant and non-redundant features in the dataset for prediction and recommendation of diseases. This system consists of three phases such as Pre-processing, Feature Selection and Performance evaluation. It supports for handling of missing and noisy data using the proposed Imputation of missing data and noise detection based Pre-processing algorithm (IMDNDP). The selection of features from the pre-processed dataset is performed by proposed ensemble-based feature selection using an expert's knowledge (EFS-EK). It is very difficult to detect and monitor the diseases manually and also needs the expertise in the field so that process becomes time consuming. Finally, the prediction and recommendation can be done using Support Vector Machine (SVM) and rule-based approaches.

In metaheuristic algorithms such as Genetic Algorithm (GA), initial population has a significant impact as it affects the time such algorithm takes to obtain an optimal solution to the given problem. In addition, it may influence the quality of the solution obtained. In the machine learning field, feature selection is an important process to attaining a good performance model; Genetic algorithm has been utilized for this purpose by scientists. However, the characteristics of Genetic algorithm, namely random initial population generation from a vector of feature elements, may influence solution and execution time. In this paper, the use of a statistical algorithm has been introduced (Chi2) for feature relevant checks where p-values of conditional independence were considered. Features with low p-values were discarded and subject relevant subset of features to Genetic Algorithm. This is to gain a level of certainty of the fitness of features randomly selected. An ensembled-based learning model for Hepatitis has been developed for Hepatitis C stage classification. 1385 samples were used using Egyptian-dataset obtained from UCI repository. The comparative evaluation confirms decreased in execution time and an increase in model performance accuracy from 56% to 63%.

The performance of text classification is highly related to the feature selection methods. Usually, two tasks are performed when a feature selection method is applied to construct a feature set; 1) assign score to each feature and 2) select the top-N features. The selection of top-N features in the existing filter-based feature selection methods is biased by their discriminative power and the empirical process which is followed to determine the value of N. In order to improve the text classification performance by presenting a more illustrative feature set, we present an approach via a potent representation learning technique, namely DBN (Deep Belief Network). This algorithm learns via the semantic illustration of documents and uses feature vectors for their formulation. The nodes, iteration, and a number of hidden layers are the main parameters of DBN, which can tune to improve the classifier's performance. The results of experiments indicate the effectiveness of the proposed method to increase the classification performance and aid developers to make effective decisions in certain domains.

Cyber intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) has become more important than traditional military ISR. An agent used in cyber ISR resides in an enemy's networks and continually collects valuable information. Thus, this agent should be able to determine what is, and is not, useful in a short amount of time. Moreover, the agent should maintain a classification rate that is high enough to select useful data from the enemy's network. Traditional feature selection algorithms cannot comply with these requirements. Consequently, in this paper, we propose an effective hybrid feature selection method derived from the filter and wrapper methods. We illustrate the design of the proposed model and the experimental results of the performance comparison between the proposed model and the existing model.

Pattern classification system is often an important component of intelligent systems. In this paper, we present a pattern classification system consisted of the feature selection module, knowledge base construction module and decision module. We introduce a feature impact evaluation selection method based on fuzzy cluster analysis considering computational approach and generalization capability of given data characteristics. A fuzzy neural network, OFUN-NET based on unsupervised learning data mining technique produces knowledge base for representative clusters. 240 blemish pattern images are prepared and applied to the proposed system. Experimental results show the feasibility of the proposed classification system as an automating defect inspection tool.
