Optimal Supply Chain formation using Agent Negotiation in SET Model based Make-To-Order (최적 공급사슬 구성을 위한 에이전트 협상방법론 개발)

  • In an effect to composite an optimal supply chain, this study has introduced an agent-based negotiation as a method to assign a lot of orders to a large number of participants. As a resources allocation mechanism to form a strategic cooperation based on information sharing between supply chain members(buyers, manufacturers, suppliers), this agent negotiation provides coordination functions allowing all participants to make a profit and accomplishing Pareto optimum solution from the viewpoint of a whole supply chain. A SET model-based scheduling takes into consideration both earliness production cost and tardiness production cost, along with a competitive relationship between multiple participants. This study has tried to prove that the result of an agent-based negotiation is a Pareto optimal solution under the dynamic supply chain environment, establishing the mathematical formulation for a performance test, and making a comparison with the heuristic Branch & Bound method.

Auction based Task Reallocation in Multiagent Systems

  • Task allocation is a key problem in multiagent systems. The importance of automated negotiation protocols for solving the task allocation problem is increasing as a consequence of increased multi-agent applications. In this paper, we introduce the multiagent Traveling Salesman Problem(TSP) as an example of task reallocation problem, and suggest Vickery auction as an inter-agent coordination mechanism for solving this problem. In order to apply this market-based coordination mechanism into multiagent TSPs, we define the profit of each agent, the ultimate goal of negotiation, cities to be traded out through auctions, the bidding strategy, and the order of auctions.   • We argue that agents may benefit from strategic ignorance in argumentation-based negotiation (ABN). We assume our agents are selfish, myopic, and residing in open systems. Some analytical results that can be used for designing agent reasoning on strategic ignorance are provided.

  • One of the characteristics the agent-based negotiation model has is that we have to input the related parameters together. Considering such properties as vagueness, incompleteness and dynamism B2B domain inherently has this may be an unreasonable request. In this paper we suggested a user interface model for B2B negotiation which mainly focussed on this problem. The suggested model supports such functions as a two dimensional negotiation space, diverse negotiation modes and emotion-based control mechanism. In this paper, we tried to show how these three functions can be used for improving the usefulness of the existing agent-based negotiation model.

  • Intelligent agents help automate various tasks, including automated negotiations, on-line auction, and buying/selling products over the Internet. To date, most of the agents are developed only for experiments and some of them are implemented on the limited areas such as an auction. The main objective of this paper is to provide a brief overview of negotiation agents. In doing so, previous studies on negotiation agent systems are revisited and then applications in the real world are reviewed. The limitations on the current negotiation agents are defined and future research directions are suggested.

An Extended Negotiation Agent Using Multi-Issues under Time-Constraint Environment (시간제약 환경에서 다중 속성을 이용한 확장된 협상 에이전트)

  • The Internet has become a part of our life and has changed our living environments dramatically. However, Electronic Commerce (EC) stays currently at a level that a buyer deals only with an one-sided condition (price) proposed by a seller or compares the proposed condition to find a better one. As the agent technology makes progress, EC requires negotiation that is not one-sided but is a way to maximize profits of both seller and buyer. Moreover, negotiation in EC should consider multiple issues rather than a single issue to replace the traditional commerce. In this paper we propose a negotiation model, which guarantees balanced profits between two agents through negotiation using multi-issues, and makes a deal successfully under time-constraint environment. The proposed negotiation model suggests strategies(alternative and simultaneous strategy) that change the value of issues with each agent has time for negotiation. In this paper, we also suggest a strategy that proposes an offer to each other. We compare the proposed negotiation model with another negotiation model. The experimental results show that dynamic conceder tactic and linear tactic showed balanced profits and a high percentage of deals for negotiation between two agents, and the sum of utilities of two agents is high, when the alternative strategy is used.

  • Electronic commerce has many advantages compared to the traditional way of doing business such as up to date information and rich service for less cost. There is a growing number of electronic commerce applications on the Internet. Using software agent technology, the market framework offers timesaving automation of auctions and flexibility through negotiations among the agents. In this research, we attempt to evaluate the performance of a negotiation decision function that considers the potential competitors in competitive market environment as well as that of a negotiation decision function that does not. For this evaluation, this study adopts the electronic marketplace as an application domain in which many sellers and buyers compete for limited resources in the marketplace.

  • In this paper, we propose an agent negotiation algorithm of an intelligent agent system for an active and adaptive multimedia data services in the distributed environment. We describe theEARTS-II system that performs automatic job seeking and job offering operations using intelligentagents without user's intervention. EARTS-II offers best candidate lists as the results to usersthrough negotiation among agents considering conditions given by the users. And according to theresults, the EARTS-II supports real processes of employment, The negotiation algorithm tries tosatisfy all agents in the job market. To test the performance of the algorithm, simulation results arepresented.

  • This paper presents the design of a certain highly efficient security policy negotiation of SPS(Security Policy System) for secure network management using mobile agent system. The conventional IP security systems for secure network management have some problems. A drawback to these systems is that the required policy between each security area is different. Another problem is not possible to guarantee whether a packet is transmitted through the same path by both directions and is protected by the same policy due to the topology of the network. Unlike conventional systems, the model developed herein can be resolved by using a mobile agent technology. If each domain needs a negotiation of security policy, a mobile agent manages the result of the negotiation in the form of a passport and guarantees the authentication and reliability each other by using the passport.

  • In general, the size of index set of the emotion-based control is smaller than that of the logic-based control. And thus, by using the concept of emotion we can control the behavior's patterns of multiple persons more softly from the global viewpoint. The principle just mentioned, we think, can be applied on fille general purpose system. In this paper we presented a n : n negotiation model in the deal based on emotional agent. Through the emotional layers of the agents we tried to show that the flexible control of the negotiation process is possible especially in case of dynamic environment.
