The ethanol extract of root bark of Morus alba strongly inhibited the Gram positive bacteria like Streptococcus sp., Lactococcus garvieae and Staphylococcus sp., but weakly the Gram negative bacteria like Listonella anguillarm and Edwardsiella tarda. It was more effective in liquid medium than in solid medium. The minimum inhibition concentration (MIC) of the extract in liquid medium was 19.8 and 790~1185 $\mu\textrm{g}$/$m\ell$ for the Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria, respectively. The extract concentration, at which the growth was totally inhibited, was 67.2~403.0 $\mu\textrm{g}$/$m\ell$ for the Gram positive bacteria but it was as high as 1185 $\mu\textrm{g}$/$m\ell$ for L. anguillarum and almost ineffective against E. tarda. For diet supplementation of the extract, effective soaking duration was 3 minutes. The fish diet soaked in the extract inhibited the growth of all the tested Gram positive strains, but not the Gram negative strains. The relationship between the weight of fish diet and absorption of the extract by the fish diet was Y=7.5757X + 4.6962($R^2$ = 0.9998).

We previously demonstrated an enhancer-like positive regulatory element within a 259-bp sequence (-2352 to-2094 bp) of the human CYP1A2 gene in HepG2 cells. Three protein binding sites were identified by DNase I footprint analyses within the 259-bp sequence: protected region A PRA ( -2283 to-2243 bp), PRB (-2218 to-2187 bp), and PRC (-2124 to-2098 bp) (I. Chung and E. Bresnick, Mol. Pharmacol. 47, 677-685, 1995). In the present study, the functional significance of those protected regions was examined. Transfection experiments with deletion and substitution mutants defined the PRB and PRC as containing positive and negative regulatory elements, respectively. Human breast carcinoma MCF-7 cells were cotransfected with a hepatocyte nuclear factor-1 (HNF-1) expression vector and CYP1A2 promoter-or thymidine kinase promoter-luciferase remoter gene constructs. HNF-1, which contributes to the liver specificity of genes, enhanced reporter gene activity in a PRC sequence-dependent manner. These results suggested that PRC could exist bound to a repressor which was displaceable by other transcription factors such as HNF-1. Results obtained by transfection of HepG2 hepatoma cells with various PRB substitution mutant-luciferase gene fusion constructs indicated that the entire sequence of PRB was necessary for promoter activity. Consequently, the regulation of CYP1A3 expression is very complex, requiring a number of both positive and negative regulatory factors.

Hemolytic anemia due to cold agglutinin disease is a known complication of Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection but is rarely observed, particularly in children. A case of Mycoplasma pneumonia complicated with hemolytic anemia is presented. A 7 year-old girl was adimitted because of fever, cough, sputum and pale appearance. Chest X-ray showed pneumonic consolidation of Rt. upper lobe, lingular division. Laboratory studies disclosed the following values : Hb 5.3g/dL, Hct 11.1%, reticulocyte 2.9%, indirect Coombs test negative, direct Coombs test(monovalent) Anti-C3d positive, Anti-IgG negative, Anti-IgM negative, cold agglutinin titer 1 : 256, mycoplasma antibody titer 1 : 640, total bilirubin 1.0mg/dL. Initial PBS before wanning showed agglutination of red blood cells. The diagnosis of cold agglutinin hemolytic anemia complicating mycoplasma pneumonia was made. And treatment with roxithromycin, prednisolone and avoiding cold exposure was initiated, and complete recovery ensued. We report a case of cold agglutinin hemolytic anemia complicating mycoplasma pneumonia in children.

Purpose: This study examines the relationships among perceived stress, humor style, responding humor and depression among college students and the mediating effect of humor between perceived stress and depression. Method: During the period May 6-16, 2013, a convenience sample of 200 subjects was obtained from college K in city G. Data analysis was performed by Pearson's correlation coefficients and regression analysis. Results: The average BDI score was 7.7. There were 40 (20.0%), 16 (8.0%), 8 (4.0%), and 11 (9.0%) students with mild, moderate, and severe depression, respectively. The group with depressive symptoms constituted 3.5% of students. There was a significant positive correlation between negative stress perception and depression. Conversely, there was a significant negative correlation between adaptive humor style and negative stress perception. Ultimately, there were significant negative correlations between positive stress perception, adaptive humor style, maladaptive humor style, responding humor and depression. To test the mediating effect of adaptive humor style in the relationship between negative stress perception and depression, a Sobel test was performed and Z-score of 1.7736 (p=.076) obtained. Conclusion: Though the mediating effect of an adaptive humor style on the relationship between perceived stress and depression was not significant, considering the negative correlation with depression, strategies to increase an adaptive humor style and responding humor is recommended to prevent depression in college students.

Consider the $L^2$-adjoint $s_g^{'*}$ of the linearization of the scalar curvature $s_g$. If ker $s_g^{'*}{\neq}0$ on an n-dimensional compact manifold, it is well known that the scalar curvature $s_g$ is a non-negative constant. In this paper, we study the structure of the level set ${\varphi}^{-1}$(0) and find the behavior of Ricci tensor when ker $s_g^{'*}{\neq}0$ with $s_g$ > 0. Also for a nontrivial solution (g, f) of $z=s_g^{'*}(f)$ on an n-dimensional compact manifold, we analyze the structure of the regular level set $f^{-1}$(-1). These results give a good understanding of the given manifolds.

Toluene-degrading bacterium, Microbacterium esteraromaticum CS3-1 was isolated from the biofilter for the removal of BTEX. Microbacterium esteraromaticum CS3-1 was shown to utilize toluene as a primary carbon and energy source. Effect of mixed BTEX gases on toluene degradation rate by M. esteraromaticum CS3-1 was investigated in this study. Toluene degradation rate was 2.26(only toluene), 2.06(toluene+benzene), 2.57(toluene+ethylbenzene), and 4.74(toluene+xylene) mmole $toluene\;{\cdot}\;g-DCW^{-1}\;{\cdot}\;h^{-1}$. Toluene degradation rate was 2.26(only toluene), 1.23(toluene+benzene+ethylbenzene), 1.52 (toluene+ethylbenzene+xylene), and 1.76(toluene+benzene+ethylbenzene+xylene) mmole $toluene\;{\cdot}\;g-DCW^{-1}\;{\cdot}\;h^{-1}$. The presence of BTEX compounds over three mixtures had a negative effect on toluene degradation rate. Toluene degradation rates were enhanced by the presence of ethylbenzene or xylene, whereas the presence of benzene had a negative effect on toluene degradation rate in comparison with toluene degradation rate when only toluene is existent.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of attitude towards parent brand on extended fashion products in case of fashion brand extension. The subjects of this study were 386 college students and data were collected using survey questionnaire. For data analysis, factor analysis and path analysis were applied. The results showed that there were four factors (e.g., familiarity attitude, emotional attitude, value-expressive attitude, utility information attitude) in attitude towards parent brand and six factors (e.g., economical risk, utilitarian risk, social risk, psychological risk, time/advantage loss risk, risk for losing opportunity) under perceived risk in extended product. The results showed that attitude towards parent brand had a negative effect on perceived risk in extended products and had a positive effect on attitude towards extended products. Perceived risk in extended products then had a negative effect on purchase intention of extended products whereas attitude towards extended products had a positive effect on purchase intention of extended products.

The effect of magnetic field on NOx removal characteristics from a combustion flue gas has been experimentally investigated for a DC corona discharge reactor with a multipoint plate geometry in our Lab. Combustion flue gas removal efficiency of this type was much higher than that of the other types. In this paper, needle-plate geometry discharge system with applied magnetic field at a right angle to the electric field was made. Input power source was used negative DC. The corona discharge characteristics for this system was investigated and compared with the corona characteristics for the corona discharge system without magnetic field.

Trigeminal neuralgia has a specific property which burning pain emerges suddenly and spasmodically. The following pain continuously emerges during 20 seconds or 30 seconds and then the pain disappears. This process of the pain emerges repeatedly. Trigeminal neuralgia was called Myuntong(麵痛). We experienced a patient who had Trigeminal neuralgia for five years. she was successfully treated by the herb-medication, accupunture and negative. The medication taken by the patient were Seunghyungsan(升荊散) and Jowyuseung chengtang(謂胃升淸湯) and so on. The accupunture was mainly done at mainly done G-14(陽白), S-2(瀉白), G-3(上關), S-36(足三里), LI-4(합閤穀) and so on. The negative was done sternocleidomastoid muscle, trapezius and Masseter muscle.
