Characterization of the Material Properties of 0.68Pb ($Mg_{1}$3/$Nb_{2}$3/)$O_3$-0.32PbT$iO_3$ Single Crystals Grown by the Solid-State-Crystal-Growth Method (고상단결정법으로 성장시킨 0.68Pb ($Mg_{1}$3/$Nb_{2}$3/)$O_3$-0.32PbT$iO_3$ 압전단결정의 물성평가)

  • In this paper, all the materials constants of the PMN-32%PT single crystals grown by the solid state crystal growth method were measured by the resonance method. PMN-PT crystals of tetragonal symmetry have six elastic constants, three piezoelectric constants and two dielectric constants for their independent material constants. These materials constants were extracted from six sets of crystal samples of each different geometry to have different vibration modes respectively. Measured results showed that the crystal has larger electromechanical coupling factor k/sub 33/ (∼86%) and piezoelectric constant d/sub 33/ (∼1200pC/N) than conventional piezoceramics. Validity of the measurement was confirmed through comparison of the results with the impedance spectrum from finite element analysis of the samples and the results measured with a commercial do meter.

Reproductive Performance of Breeds and Hybrid of Silkworm, Bombyx mori L. with Special Reference to Egg Laying Rhythmicity

  • The reproductive performance of multivoltine breed 'Nistari' and bivoltine breeds as NB18, P5 and a bivoltine hybrid (NB18 ${\times}$ P5) of B. mori were studied in different seasons in terms of total number of eggs laid, unlaid and hatching efficiency of the laid eggs to critically assess the breeds / hybrid potentiality. The bivoltine hybrid showed better performance in all the seasons as compared to the breeds investigated, as expected due to possibility of hybrid vigour. Among the breeds, bivoltine P5 had a better egg laid performance in S1 (February - March), S2 (May - June) and S3 (September - October) seasons but with an increase in the number of unlaid eggs. The hatching percentage, although didn't show any definitive trend, still suggested a marginal better performance in the hybrid. Most importantly, egg laying rhythmicity was studied by mating the female moth at 6.00 a.m. for $3{\frac{1}{2}}$ hours, and subsequently allowing the laying of eggs both under BOD condition ($25{\pm}1^{\circ}C$ and $85{\pm}5%$ RH) and at ambient temperature ($23-28^{\circ}C$ and $74.7{\pm}5%$) separately. Maximum (90%) egg laid occurred from 3.30 to 7.30 pm (i.e. 4 - 6 h after decoupling). Similar laying patterns were observed when females where mated at 12 noon and decoupled at 3.30 pm, revealing that late photoperiod and early scotoperiod were favourable for egg laying in case of multivoltine breed and bivoltine prefers late photoperiod for egg laying.

  • In this study, (Sr.Pb.Ca)TiO3-Bi2O3.3TiO2(SPCT) systems were investigated to develop a new material which has a high dielectric constant, a low dielectric loss and a small TCC(Temperature Coefficient of Capa-citance), and are suitable for high voltage applications as a function of the additions of Bi2O3.3TiO2 from 5 mol.% to 9 mol.%. The result obtained from our investigation showed that up to 6 mol.% Bi2O3.3TiO ad-dition the dielectric constant increased and it deteriorated at higher concentrations with increasing amount of the acicular grains. As a result of some dopants (SiO2, Nb2O3, MnO2) addition to SPCT, the specimens with MnO2 showed good dielectric properties. The dielectric constant decreased, but the TCC was improved with the addition of MnO2 from 0.15 wt.% to 0.45 wt. %.

Design of $Ti:LiNbO_3$ Three-Waveguide Optical Switch with Outer-Waveguide Fed (바깥도파로 입사된 $Ti:LiNbO_3$ 세 도파로 광스위치의 설계 및 제작)

  • An optical switch composed of three-identical, equally-spaced $Ti:LinbO_3$ waveguides and overlaid Al electrodes of CPW structure was designed and fabricated. Patterned Ti was diffused into z-cut $LinbO_3$ substrates at $1025^{\circ}C$ for 6 hours to make a three-waveguide directional coupler. $SiO_2$ buffer layer of $1.2{\mu}m$ was grown by the PECVD to reduce the propagation loss of TM mode, and Al electrodes were built on the layer for switching the guided beam. For an incident beam of ${\lambda}=1.3{\mu}m$, almost perfect optical coupling between two outer waveguides was observed. When an electric field was applied to detune the three waveguides anti-symmetrically, the optical switching phenomenon was successfully confirmed.

  • Recently, piezoelectric transformer is applied to wide fields. Multi layer piezoelectric transformer has the advantage of high step up ratio, electromechanical coupling coefficient(Kp) and mechanical quality factor(Qm), but is indicated of peeling-phenomenon of electrode, rising sintering temperature made price of costly electrode. So in this study, it discuss on method for fabrication of rosen type piezoelectric transformers. For the fabrication as rosen type piezoelectric transformers, synthesized the powder using 0.01Pb$(ni_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3$ - 0.08Pb$(Mn_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3$ - 0.91Pb$(Zr_{0506}Ti_{0496})O_3$ (abbreviated as PNN-PMN-PZT) ceramics. The density, microstructure, dielectric and piezoelectric properties as a function of sintering temperature were investigated. The results indicated that the optimized properties of ceramics were obtained at sintering temperature of 1200$^{\circ}C$, showed the value of $d_{33}$=273pC/N, $K_p$=0.60 $Q_m$=1585, ${\varepsilon}_r$=1454, density=7.917$g/cm^3$ and $tan{\delta}$=0.0064.

The Piezoelectric Properties of (Na0.5K0.5)NbO3-K5.4Cu1.3Ta10O29 Ceramics with Various K5.4Cu1.3Ta10O29 Doping and Sintering Temperatures

  • (1-X)$(Na_{0.5}K_{0.5})NbO_3-XK_{5.4}Cu_{1.3}Ta_{10}O_{29}$ (NKN-KCT) lead-free piezoelectric ceramics have been synthesized by the conventional solid state sintering method, and their sinterability and piezoelectric properties were investigated. Typically, this material is sintered between 1,025 and $1,100^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours to achieve the required densification. Crystalline structures and Microstructures were analyzed by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscope. The density, dielectric constant (${\varepsilon}_r$), piezoelectric constant $d_{33}$, electromechanical coupling factor $k_p$ and mechanical quality factor $Q_m$ value of the NKN ceramics depended upon the KCT content and the sintering temperature. In particular, the KCT addition to NKN greatly improved the mechanical quality factor $Q_m$ value. The ceramic with X = 1.0 mol% sintered at $1,050^{\circ}C$ exhibited optimum properties (${\varepsilon}_r$=246, $d_{33}$=95, $k_p$=0.38 and $Q_m$=1,826). These results indicate that the ceramic is a promising candidate material for applications in lead free piezoelectric transformer and filter materials.

Synthesis of High-Aspect-Ratio BaTiO3 Platelets by Topochemical Conversion and Fabrication of Textured Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3-32.5PbTiO3 Ceramics

  • Perovskite structured barium titanate particles ($BaTiO_3$) platelets were synthesized by molten salt synthesis and topochemical microcrystal conversion. As the precursors of $BaTiO_3$, plate-like $BaBi_4Ti_4O_{15}$ particles were first synthesized by the reaction of $Bi_4Ti_3O_{12}$, $BaCO_3$, and $TiO_2$ at $1080^{\circ}C$ for 3 h in $BaCl_2$-KCl molten salt. After the topochemical reactions, layer-structured $BaBi_4Ti_4O_{15}$ particles transformed to the perovskite $BaTiO_3$ platelets. $BaTiO_3$ particles with thickness of approximately $0.5{\mu}m$ and a length of $10-15{\mu}m$ retained the morphology feature of the $BaBi_4Ti_4O_{15}$ precursor. For <001> $Pb(Mg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-32.5PbTiO_3$ (PMNT)-5 wt % PbO piezoelectric ceramics textured with 5 vol % of $BaTiO_3$ templates, the Lotgering factor reached 0.82, and $d_{33}$ was 870 pC/N.

Rapid Thermal Annealing 열처리 온도에 따른 유기태양전지용Nb:$TiO_2$/Ag/Nb:$TiO_2$ 다층 투명전극의 전기적, 광학적, 구조적 및 표면 특성 연구

  • 본 연구에서는 RF/DC dual 마그네트론 스퍼터 시스템을 이용하여 Glass 기판 상에 유기태양전지용 Nb-doped $TiO_2$ (NTO)/Ag/NTO 다층 투명전극을 성막하고 이 다층 투명전극을 $200^{\circ}C{\sim}700^{\circ}C$ 온도 범위에서 급속 열처리 (Rapid Thermal Annealing ; RTA)를 통하여 전기적, 광학적, 구조적 및 표면의 특성 변화를 연구하였다. Hall effect measurement, UV-Vis spectrometer, FESEM 분석을 통하여 다층투명전극의 전기적, 광학적, 표면분석을 하였고 Synchrotron 분석을 통하여 온도에 따른 구조변화를 분석하였다. 상온에서 성막된 다층투명전극은 30nm 두께의 NTO 박막 사이에 얇은 9nm의 얇은 Ag 층을 삽입한 구조로써 10ohm/square 이하의 매우 낮은 면저항과 ${\sim}10^{-5}\;ohm-cm$ 의 비저항, Anti-reflection 효과에 의해 85% 이상의 높은 광투과성을 나타내었다. RTA 온도가 증가함에 따라 전기적, 광학적 특성은 약간 향상되었고 비정질 구조를 유지함을 알 수 있었다. 그러나 높은 온도범위에서는 비정질 구조에서 Anatase 상으로 결정구조가 변화함을 알 수 있었고 전기적, 광학적 특성이 감소됨을 알 수 있었다. NTO/Ag/NTO 다층 투명전극을 유기태양전의 Anode로 적용하여 특성을 비교한 결과 RTA 온도가 증가함에 따라 유기태양전지의 효율 또한 증가하였고 최적화된 온도 조건에서 2.49% 의 높은 효율을 얻을 수 있었다. 이를 통해 우수한 특성을 나타내는 NTO/Ag/NTO 다층투명전극이 기존의 디스플레이 및 태양전지 등의 투명전극 재료로 주로 사용되어 온 ITO (Indium Tin Oxide) 를 대체 할 수 있는 재료로써의 가능성을 제시하였다.

Photocurrent Characteristics of Plasma Sprayed TiO2 Composite Coatings according to Additive Transition Metal (전이금속을 첨가한 플라즈마 TiO2 복합 용사피막의 광전류 특성)

  • In this study, the photocurrent characteristics of plasma sprayed $TiO_2$ coatings have been investigated according to additive transition metal (Fe, Mn, Nb powder) and heat treatment conditions. The plasma sprayed $TiO_2$ coatings by heat treatment at $400^{\circ}C$ and 90 min had the higher photocurrent at ultraviolet light, no photocurrent at visible light. The photocurrent of plasma sprayed $TiO_2$ coatings added by Fe, Mn, Nb (named by plasma sprayed $TiO_2$ composite coatings) was lower than that of plasma sprayed $TiO_2$ coatings at ultraviolet light, as was low in intensity ratio of XRD(101)/(110). and the atomic percentage of oxygen by plasma sprayed $TiO_2$ composite coatings was higher than that by plasma sprayed $TiO_2$ coatings. The photocurrent of plasma sprayed $TiO_2$ composite coatings in heat treatment at $400^{\circ}C$ and 90 min was higher than that of plasma sprayed $TiO_2$ coatings in same heat treatment conditions at ultraviolet and visible light, as was high in oxygen affinity by heat treatment.

Technical Analysis of LoRa for Problems on Outdoor Culture Smart Farm (노지재배 스마트팜의 문제점을 해결하기 위한 LoRa 기술 분석)

  • Recently, there have been increasing interests in researches to apply wireless communication technologies for smart farm. This paper introduces the problems in the smart farm for the outdoor culture and technical considerations to solve the problems. As candidate technologies, this paper selects LoRa, Sigfox, NB-IoT, and Wi-Fi and then determines that LoRa is a suitable technology based on the CAPEX, coverage, transmission rate, battery, and the price. To provide technical analysis, this paper introduces technologies related to the physical and medium access control (MAC) layers as well as the security. Specifically, this paper includes the modulation technology in the physical layer, Class (Class A, B, and C) based protocol operations in MAC layer, and security architecture based on the LoRa version.
